Unforeseen Consequences - The final push

>Boy, oh boy, seems like the whole hive was here. Seriously, the holes in the walls were packed with changelings, all of them looking down at you.
>Twilight and Glimmer walked past you and stood by the sides of the throne. In all honesty, you would be feeling pretty scared right now if it wasn’t for a little detail that you noticed on those two.
>The green fluorescence from Twilight and Glimmer’s eyes was almost gone and both looked like they were struggling… hmm, seems like your mom Luna has been busy.
>When he was able to stand up, Thorax quickly rushed at you and started shaking you “Anon! Are you okay?!”
>Nope, not at all. In fact, you were feeling pretty terrible, and it wasn’t just because your whole body hurt like it was hit by a truck, nor because the headache that was slowly creeping its way in.
>You were feeling quite miserable because, even with the clear advances from your mom Luna, Chrysalis still had Twilight and Glimmer under her control and now you were in her territory, with no way to defend yourself and no backup in sight.
>All of this wouldn’t be so bad IF YOU COULD FRICKIN’ MOVE!
>Despite all of that, you couldn’t falter, not when Thorax and everypony was counting on the success of your plan. So you decided to cover your worries with a smug face.
“I feel like a million bits, my friend. And hey! It seems like we have full house tonight, eh Chrysalis?”
>Chrysalis was sitting on her throne, looking down at you with a cruel smile “Don’t you know that it’s of bad education to keep a lady waiting? I’m so disappointed in you, little Anon but at least you brought the traitor with you. Talk about an apology gift!”
“Meh, I like to be fashionably late, gotta keep a style y’know?”
>Chrysalis let out a malicious chuckle and waved her hoof dismissively “Oh, I completely agree! That is why I like to make my surprises as stylish as possible. It makes them more… memorable”

She then waved at Twilight and Starlight “That was your cue, you brainless idiots! Bring the other pests here!”
>The other…? Oh, no!
>Thorax gulped as he took a step back “A-Anon, I don’t like where this is going”
>Your worst fears became true when Twilight and Starlight levitated three cocoons into the throne room. Aegia, Pharynx and Moonlight were sleeping inside of them.
>”I’ll have to give it to you, little Anon. These two mares offered quite the fight” Chrysalis chuckled as you and Thorax looked with astonishment as the cocoons were placed on the ceiling, right above the throne “Too bad that they didn’t see my dear puppets coming, it was over before they realized what happened. They will make fine additions to the hive, though … oh! And before I forget”
>“It is very rude to spy on others” Chrysalis used her magic to levitate the now broken drone and throw it at you “So please keep your toys away from my hive”
>Alright, so you were now cut off from the exterior world. Things went from bad to an utter trash fire.
“Oh, c’mon! Do you have any idea how much time I spent building that thing?!”
>Chrysalis narrowed her eyes at you “So my suspicions were true. You are the creator of this mechanism! To think that a mere cot would be able to create technology that not even me have seen before… Your mind never fail to impress, little Anon. It’s such a shame that I’m about to destroy it.”
>You wanted to call Chrysalis a monster but Thorax actually caught you by surprise when he bravely yelled “You won’t get away with this!”
>Chrysalis let out a tired sigh “I already know that. Just look at the “army” outside the hive. Even when all is smoke and mirrors, do you really think that I have the power to defeat the spirits of chaos? Please, not even the love from that little whelp you call friend is enough.”
>Thorax helped you to shook your head and point at Chrysalis with your hoof.

“Then what was the point in capturing them?! Wait… how do you know that the invasion was nothing but a big ruse?”
>Chrysalis rolled her eyes and shook her head “Oh, little Anon. Out of all ponies, you should be the first to know the answer. If Celestia was truly invading the hive, then I would be nothing but a pile of ashes by this point.”
>Chrysalis spoke with a mocking tone “Meh, meh, meh! But how can you know that?!” She sighed once again and spoke with her normal voice “Celestia may be a goody two shoes like you, but just like me, she’s also a mother, and I know very well how dangerous a mother’s wrath can be”
>You let out a sigh.
“Alright, I guess that we’re back to my first question then. What is the point of all this?!”
>Chrysalis narrowed her eyes at you “I could ask you the same. Why did you decide on coming here? Ugh… know what? Don’t even bother to reply since I already know the answer. You and that traitor came here to laugh at me and rub my defeat in my face! Well, guess what?! I can still have the last laugh!”
“Could you stop being so stupidly stubborn for just a second?! I didn’t come here to mock your sorry flank! I came here to help you! I brought you the living proof that changelings don’t need to feed on the love of others in order to survive! Thorax overcame his hunger by sharing his love and friendship with others, and you know dang well that the rest of the changelings can do the same”
>Chrysalis rubbed her temples and groaned “Not this again…”
“Yes, this again, you dumb idiot! C’mon, man! Do what an actual leader would and just accept help when you need it! It’s seriously not that hard!”

>Thorax took a step back from your immobilized body and looked at you with an expression of utter confusion “A-Anon? Why do you want to help her? She has done nothing but torment you, not to mention what she wants to do to Equestria.”
“Trust me, I know from first hoof experience how much of a jerk Chrysalis can be! That is not an excuse to not help her though!”
>“Anon, I’m afraid that I don’t follow” Your friend tilted his head in confusion, in fact, the entire hive was now giving you a similar confused look.
“Thorax, I know how this is going to sound, but there’s something wrong with Chrysalis, she can’t share her love and I’m sure that there is a good reason for that, something that she doesn’t want to tell us because she’s the most stubborn idiot I’ve ever met!”
>Chrysalis quickly cut you off “I’ve had enough of this!” She then barked at Twilight and Glimmer “My brainless puppets! Destroy that annoying colt before I pop up a vein!”
>”NO!” Thorax immediately jumped in front of you “I WON’T LET YOU HURT MY FRIEND!”
>Once again, you felt a rush of adrenaline taking over your body as thoughts of defeat took over your mind, but… it didn’t last long since the two mares weren’t casting any spell, or moving… in fact, they looked… just like Eris did before she broke free from Chrysalis’ mind control.
>“I gave you an order!” Chrysalis furiously yelled “What are you waiting for?! Destroy them!”
>Twilight was heavily panting and was barely able to stand on her hooves “I… I don’t want to… but… hnnng! No! This is wrong! I… Anon… help!”
>Starlight shook her head and yelled “Her majesty’s orders are… hng… absolute… AAAH! Make it stop… please!”
>But they didn’t follow the command … oh thank the heavens! Twilight and Glimmer were fighting back with all they got! Even when they looked as if they were about pass out, they were still resisting!

“You can do it! I know that the two of you are strong enough to break yourselves free! Twilight, Glimmer, please, do not lose hope!”
>Chrysalis rolled her eyes “Oh for the love of…” She then lit up her horn, making both mares to fall unconscious
“NO!”
>“Seems like that plan fell through too…” Chrysalis sighed and then shrugged “Oh, well, guess I will have to do this the old way.”
>Thorax narrowed his eyes and adopted a brave pose “I-I’m not afraid of you! I don’t care that you want to destroy me, I won’t let you harm my friend!”
>Chrysalis cackled “Who said anything about destroying you? Oh, Thorax, please, that would far too kind”
>Thorax lost all his bravery as he gulped and took a step back “T-Then what are you going to do?”
>Chrysalis flew out of her throne and landed in front of Thorax with enough strength to make the whole room to tremble. “Isn’t it obvious? I’m going drain every single ounce of love out of you.”
>Thorax’s ears dropped “Oh… I was actually afraid that you’d do thaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”
>Chrysalis shot a green laser at Thorax, enveloping in a green aura and make him levitate in mid-air.
“Leave Thorax alone, you dumb idiot! I’m the one you want to destroy!”
>Chrysalis cackled and rolled her eyes “Oh don’t worry, little Anon, your turn will come as soon as I finish draining this traitor and showing everypony what a real leader is!”
>She then turned to Thorax and basically started to suck up a weird pink energy stream that started to flow from him.
>Thorax was struggling with all his strength, but that wasn’t enough. The pink stream kept flowing out of him and into Chrysalis’ mouth “A-Anon! I can…hnng! Feel all the love slipping away… I can’t hold it from much longer… I-I’m sorry”
>Hold his love? Wait… oh sweet science, the most desperate idea you ever had hit you like a sack of bricks, but hey for desperate times…

“Thorax, listen! This is gonna sound insane, but if there ever a point when you had to trust me, then my friend, this is it.”
>While still struggling against Chrysalis’ draining, thorax said “Just… say it!”
“Okay, so, sharing your love and friendship IS what made you the best changeling ever, if Chrysalis wants all of your love, then I say give the gal what she wants”
>Thorax gave you an incredibly baffled look “Anon… you are the weirdest pony I’ve ever met…” He then shrugged “But I’d follow you to the end of the world!”
>The pink stream started to emanate with an incredible force, to the point where it became a frickin’ laser beam that managed to send Chrysalis flying back to her stupid throne with enough strength to crackle it.
>To make things more… weird. The pink stream then enveloped Thorax, forming a cocoon around him that exploded with a blinding light a couple seconds later, revealing…
“Thorax?”
>Your friend… that guy… he changed his physical form in its entirety. He was much taller now, probably as tall as your mom Celestia, he had these orange horns, purple wings, tail and even eyes, his previously dark body was now of a pale green color, you could also see some silver semi-spheres on his neck that kind of looked like a necklace… man, maybe you screwed this one up.
>Thorax nodded “Yes, Anon. It’s me” Okay, his voice at least was the same.
>The entire changeling hive was now surrounding Thorax. All of them were looking at him with actual admiration.
>Okay, Chrysalis was still recovering from that blow and you got the changelings’ attention. Time to make your move.

“Cool! Uh… Mind if you give me a hoof? I want to say something to the rest of the hive”
>“Sure!” Thorax nodded as he picked you up with his hooves and then placed you on top of his head.
>You then whispered into his ear
“Thanks, man! Oh, yeah! I wanted to ask you something before I said anything to the hive… uh… can I call you Thorax the Psychedelic Moose from here on out?”
>“I’d prefer if you not do that, but…” Thorax whispered back as he raised an eyebrow. “Do I really look like a moose?”
“You totally do, and it’s the coolest thing ever! I mean, if somepony messes with you, then you can stab the idiot with these cool horns… Anyway, mind if you raise my head a bit?”
>After Thorax did that. You cleared your voice and directed yourself to the still awed changelings.
“Do you see it now? Taking love away from others will only lead to the horrible hunger that you have felt for your entire lives, if you want that pain to go away forever then just do what Thorax did and share your love and friendship with others!”
>The changelings looked at each other and nodded. Then, similarly to Thorax, a stream of energy engulfed every changeling in the hive. The whole thing was so bright that you couldn’t see a thing, but you certainly could feel the entire place shattering.
“Guys? I don’t wanna sound like a jerk, but… uh… I think this is getting out of contro-“
>*KABOOM*
>… … …
>… …
>…
>“A-Anon…” You were awakened by a gently breeze caressing your body and the voice of Thorax calling for you “Anon! Thank goodness, are you okay?” And poking you awfully hard with his hoof.
>You shook your head and slapped Thorax’s hoof away
“Kinda… Everything hurts, but at least I’m not dead… wait a minute…”
>You quickly stood up and looked at your hooves
“MAN! NOT ONLY I’M NOT DEAD, I CAN ALSO MOVE AGAIN! Look at this, Thorax! I call it my victory daaaa…whoa!”

>Every changeling, every single one changed in a similar fashion to Thorax. They were all now a frickin’ rainbow of bugs, except that all of them lacked Thorax’s height and the awesome horns. They looked pretty cool, though.
>That wasn’t the end of your surprise, not by a long shot. The entire throne room was gone and nothing remained of the throne itself. You could see the sun rising in the distance along with the beautiful morning sky.
>You thought that this time of the day couldn’t be any more fitting. Chrysalis and the changeling’s never ending hunger for love were vanquished. This was the dawn of… wait a minute, you had more important things to care about!
>You started to run like a headless chicken across the ruins of the throne room and calling out
“Moonlight! Aegia! Twilight! Oh yeah… Glimmer! Where are you?! Please, answer me!”
>“Anon calm down, everypony is fine, look…” You were stopped by Thorax, who quickly pointed out at some changelings helping your friends to recover.
“Oh… well you could’ve said that before, man! I almost had a heart attack here! But… I’m just so glad that all of this is finally over”
>Thorax let out a tired sigh “Me too, this whole adventure was exhausting” he then rubbed his chin “I do wonder what happened to Chrysalis, though. I know she’s an evil ancient Queen who wanted to destroy us, but I would really feel bad if she didn’t make it”
“Yeah, especially since I wasn’t joking about me wanting to help her. I know it sounds crazy, but there was something about how she said certain things, y’know? I’m sure that if she had talked, then… AAAAH!”

>“NOT YET, ANON! IT’S NOT OVER YET!” Chrysalis bursted from the ground and snagged you into the depths of the hive before anypony could react to what happened.
“CHRYSALIS!”
>She was flying down at an almost neck breaking speed, making twist and turns until she finally threw you at a wall in a random room of the hive.
“Chry… AGH!”
>You were being constrained by Chrysalis’ magic so hard that breathing became an almost impossible task.
>“Silence!” Chrysalis barked at you, her face was twisted with rage and hatred “You ruined my conquest plans! You took my hive away from me!” She struggled you harder “I may have been defeated, but I can still take my revenge on you!”
>Despite feeling every last ounce of air leaving your lungs, you gathered all your strength to say
“Let… me… help… you… Chry…sa…lis”
>“WHY?!” Chrysalis shook with rage, but ultimately let go of her grip and threw you at the wall again “I have tormented you non-stop for the past week, I want to destroy everypony you love and make your kingdom mine. WHY DO YOU WANT TO HELP ME?!”
>You slowly stood up, grasping for air, only that this time… you didn’t feel weak.
“Because…”
>In fact, you felt stronger than ever, it was a completely weird but familiar sensation at the same time. No, this was completely familiar, heh… even your cutie mark was glowing like it did when your moms got turned into fillies.
>Only that this time, the glow was yellow rather than orange… well, whatever, you knew what you had to do.
“I believe that nopony is irredeemable, not even somepony who was caused as much suffering like you have. Chrysalis, I’m not naïve, I know that you won’t become a good hearted gal just because I showed you kindness, but I want you to at least have the option to decide what path of life you want to walk. Everypony deserves a second chance, Chrysalis. Even you.”

>Your cutie mark glowed harder and harder, until a yellow light flew from it and out of the room…
“Uh… sorry… that happens sometimes…”
>Chrysalis raised an eyebrow and opened her mouth, but was interrupted when Discord’s voice echoed across the hive “OOOOH, Chrissyyyy~ Come out to plaaaay~”
>Chrysalis narrowed her eyes and flew at you at an incredibly fast speed. Then, she grabbed you and whispered into your ear “If what you say is true, then you better remember these words, little Anon. “Take a tuff of cloud. A bright rainbow’s glow. Stir with a Pegasus feather. Fast not slow. Serve to two ponies who aren’t in the know””
>As she said those words, you started to feel progressively weaker. Dang it! You just recovered your movement and she was draining you again!
“What… does that… mean?”
>Chrysalis cackled “That is for your brilliant mind to discover, little Anon. You can take your time though. I don’t want to see your face in a good while.”
“I… agh…”
>She… was… draining more… than before… hard… to keep… conscious “Until we meet again...”
>Then, everything went dark.
