[22:56]	GM-Mizi	[After a bit of light breakfast and somewhat intensive daily grunt work Marisa assigned Kai with, today comes the day Kai has been waiting for; the day he use his learned ability against his instructor! He learned about the non-lethal energy bullet called Danmaku a bit from his earlier session, but this is the day he will be putting it to use for real.]
[23:06]	GM-Mizi	[Marisa is stretching herself at the clearing in front of the house. It's a normal clearing, but it looks like it had its fair share of combat experience. Many battles have been fought here, that's for sure.]
[23:08]	Kai	stretches as well. Seeing as he can't fly anywhere near as well, he's going to get quite the workout...
[23:10]	Marisa	is in her full battle outfit. It's a more compact version of what she usually use.

[23:12]	Marisa	"One side attacks, one side defends. Either shoot me to spellbreak or wait for timeouts."
[23:12]	Marisa	"Since you don't have a spellcard yet, I'll be the one attacking."
[23:12]	Kai	nods. He wears his entei-given clothing, which already sports a little wear from previous training and labor.
[23:12]	Kai	Got it.
[23:13]	Marisa	"I want you to remember the feeling and keep it clear in your head."
[23:14]	Marisa	"It will help with your first spellcard-making in the long run."
[23:14]	Marisa	"Aaaaaallllright."
[23:14]	Marisa	stretches.
[23:14]	Marisa	"Now recite to me what is your main expertise."
[23:24]	Kai	Manipulation of Air is what I have practiced the most.
[23:25]	Kai	Or at least, as much as I can.
[23:25]	Marisa	"Hm, good good."
[23:25]	Marisa	nods.
[23:25]	Marisa	"then now recite to me what I try to make you to be?"
[23:25]	Marisa	looks sorta proud.
[23:27]	Kai	A... Blaster, was it?
[23:27]	Marisa	"Emissioner."
[23:27]	Kai	Right.
[23:27]	Marisa	"But, well, basically blasting things!"
[23:27]	Marisa	"So you are right!"
[23:28]	Marisa	"Remember those two things, and do it normally."
[23:29]	Marisa	"Think less. Remember it with your body."
[23:29]	Marisa	whips out her spellcard.
[23:29]	Marisa	"I gave you the blank one but never told you how to write it, but this is a written spellcard!"
[23:30]	Kai	inspects it closely, trying to spy on every detail.
[23:30]	Marisa	"When I activate it, I will move according to a certain pattern."
[23:30]	Marisa	"To consider 'winning', you either shoot me with Danmaku until spellbreak or dodge it until timeout."
[23:31]	Marisa	"Rinse and repeat until I have no more spellcards left, and then you 'win' for real."
[23:31]	Marisa	"That's the basics."
[23:39]	Marisa	floats up.
[23:39]	Marisa	"Ready?"
[23:39]	Kai	steps back 15 paces.
[23:39]	Kai	Ready!
[23:39]	Marisa	tosses the first card up the sky and catch it as it falls before her.
[23:40]	Marisa	then reveals the face of the card.
[23:40]	Marisa	"魔符「ミルキーウェイ」 !!" (Magic Sign "Milky Way")
[23:40]	Kai	drops into a more maneuverable stance immediately.
[23:42]	Marisa	calls forth a spinning magical gates that spews out small stars as it idly fly in circles around her. It's rather slow and easy to predict.
[23:43]	Marisa	's starry maze moves like that of a windmill, sweeping the ground as it passes by. From the side, there are smaller starlets, and from the spinning gate, there's a small barrage of bullets aiming to where Kai is.
[23:44]	Marisa	"Now, show me whatcha got!"
[23:47]	Kai	at first raises an arm to direct danmaku against her while dodging at some more than a fast jog, but after stumbling a bit, he switches to conjuring danmaku out of the air. It's definitely slower and less accurate, but the payoff in grazing is worth it.
[23:47]	Kai	's overall DPS remains low but he remains alive, despite several stars grazing him.
[23:49]	Marisa	got hit by weak little air boolets.
[23:50]	Marisa	"More effort! You can't spellbreak me like that!"
[23:52]	Kai	falls back a bit further which gives him enough space to focus his aim a bit more and occasionally throw in a stronger bullet.
[23:53]	Marisa	plinks off Marisa's spellshield effortlessly.
[23:53]	Marisa	"Hah. You are putting up a fight!"
[23:54]	Marisa	timeouts.
[23:54]	Marisa	's card returns to her hand as the barrage ends.
[23:54]	Kai	ponders falling further back for stronger yet fewer shots until he his interrupted by the timeout.
[23:55]	Marisa	"How about something /extra/?"
[23:55]	Marisa	whips out another one.
[23:55]	Marisa	" 魔空「アステロイドベルト」 !!" (Magic Space - "Asteroid Belt" )
[23:56]	Marisa	releases the attack that looks mostly the same, but the spin speed of the gate and the windmill star sweeper is obviously faster, more side starlets, and bigger fan of directional bullet maze.
[23:58]	Marisa	's sweeping stars are no longer resembling windmills. It's a fucking fan of stars, stripes, hurts, and pain.
[00:00]	Kai	begins dodging again, initially caught enough off-guard that he doesn't shoot at all. He eventually settles into a rhythym again, but his shots are no better than before.
[00:00]	Marisa	plinks it away effortlessly again.
[00:01]	Marisa	"Good, good!"
[00:01]	Marisa	"Remember the feelings!"
[00:01]	Marisa	manual-timeouts.
[00:01]	Marisa	"NEXT!"
[00:02]	Kai	. o O ( Oh no. )
[00:02]	Kai	quickly looks around for /any/ cover before the spellcard begins.
[00:02]	Marisa	"黒魔「イベントホライズン」 !!" (Black Magic "Event Horizon" )
[00:10]	Marisa	erect a circular sphere enveloping them with walls of stars, the inside of it with Marisa at the center are like a Kaleidoscope of changing patterns, trapping Kai inside.
[00:10]	Marisa	"Stars are awesome, don't you think?!"
[00:13]	Kai	frantically dodges, far too busy to answer. Even at his best, he's rapidly becoming exhausted and overwhelmed.
[00:14]	Marisa	mid-card cancel to-
[00:15]	Marisa	"恋符「ノンディレクショナルレーザー」 !! "(Love Sign "Non-Directional Laser")
[00:16]	Marisa	randomly fires 5-arc mini lasers in 60-degree radius of each other in a certain interval, and cover the rest of the empty space with rows of swiping stars.
[00:16]	Marisa	"Hahahahaha this is fun!"
[00:19]	Kai	gapes until the first stars reach him, at which point he dances between them.
[00:20]	Kai	might normally be able to return fire but cannot after the lunacy of the previous card.
[00:21]	Marisa	, alas, already charged up her mini-Hakkero magical reactor.
[00:21]	Marisa	"恋符「マスタースパーク」 !!" (Love Sign "Master Spark" )
[00:22]	Marisa	fires a freakingly huge beam. Of love. Still, it's really terrible affection. Genocidal love.
[00:22]	Marisa	"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
[00:23]	Kai	tries to sprint at a 30-degree angle to Marisa and gain a chance at dodging but fails miserably.
[00:23]	Kai	is ZAPPED.
[00:24]	Marisa	fires one shot, then--
[00:25]	Marisa	"恋心「ダブルスパーク」 !!" (Loving Heart "Double Spark" )
[00:25]	Marisa	DOUBLES IT UP. Now she shoots off two. There'd be no escape if she'd just make it a little wider, eh?
[00:26]	Kai	already got singed by the last one and opts to just fall face-down in the grass. There's really no point in avoiding it now.
[00:26]	Kai	. o O ( Ow... )
[00:28]	Marisa	"AND TO END IT ALL----!!"
[00:28]	Marisa	raises her hands up high, and bring down the total annihilation.
[00:28]	Kai	tries to call it off.
[00:28]	Kai	Please stop!
[00:28]	Marisa	"Magicannon---!"
[00:28]	Marisa	"FINALLLL!"
[00:28]	Marisa	"MASTERRRR!"
[00:29]	Kai	plops his face back into the grass. Safer there. Marginally.
[00:29]	Marisa	finally realizes it.
[00:29]	Marisa	"SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAarkwhoa!"
[00:29]	Marisa	"魔砲「ファイナルマスタースパーク」 !!" ( Magicannon "Final Master Spark")
[00:30]	Marisa	fires the last, the biggest, and the scariest Spark Kai have ever seen up the sky. It will probably hits the heaven's throne or two.
[00:30]	Kai	has no recourse but to take the pain.
[00:34]	Marisa	floats down to the ground.
[00:34]	Marisa	"Whew. That's some workout."
[00:34]	Marisa	"Haven't go all-out like that in a while!"
[00:37]	Kai	just keeps lying on the ground. The back of his clothes are in tatters, but thankfully they mostly hold together.
[00:37]	Kai	... mostly.
[00:37]	Marisa	uses her broomstick to pry Kai off the ground.
[00:38]	Marisa	"Rise and shine!"
[00:40]	Kai	spends a few more seconds in a daze before re-realizing his situation.
[00:40]	Kai	Ugh...
[00:40]	Kai	braces himself against the ground to rise and does so slowly.
[00:40]	Kai	WHY.
[00:41]	Marisa	"Ahahaha..."
[00:41]	Kai	is a little less than amused and covertly tries to make sure his legwear isn't falling apart with a spare hand.
[00:41]	Marisa	scractch the back of her head sheepishly.
[00:41]	Marisa	"I tend to shoot more than I plan to. Bad habit of mine!"
[00:45]	Kai	I couldn't tell...
[00:45]	Kai	finds some relief in that only the pant legs were severely damaged. Not as bad as things could be.
[00:50]	Marisa	"Well..."
[00:51]	Marisa	"Now you get the feel of Danmaku fight!"
[00:51]	Marisa	all sunshine and raaaainbooows!
[00:51]	Kai	DOOOOOOOOM
[00:51]	Kai	Ugh.
[00:51]	Kai	That was cool, but...
[00:51]	Kai	looks towards the house.
[00:56]	Kai	I think I need to sit down.
[00:58]	Marisa	"G-Go ahead! Of course you would want to sit down after that good workout, yeah?"
[00:59]	Kai	looks at her oddly for just a moment before going. o O ( What's with the stuttering? My clothing isn't too damaged, is it...? )
[01:01]	Marisa	runs into the house to fix him a wet towel and ice, mainly to hide her embarrassment of overcooking him in a practice fight.
[01:01]	Kai	soon enough steps inside and takes a seat at the dining table.
[01:01]	Marisa	"I meant to make you get a feel of what a real fight is like, but I end up shooting you silly."
[01:02]	Marisa	"This is embarrassing..."
[01:02]	Kai	No, it's fine.
[01:02]	Kai	Well... mostly.
[01:02]	Kai	It didn't leave bruises or anything, so it only hurt then.
[01:03]	Kai	is only partly speaking the truth. A little more was paid in pride and what feels like a residual burn.
[01:04]	Marisa	"To tell you the truth, I wanted you to be a blaster-type."
[01:05]	Marisa	says this as she rinse the water out of wet towel and put it on his (feeling) burned back.
[01:05]	Marisa	"So I sort of trying to show you how awesome blaster-type is."
[01:08]	Kai	Ah.
[01:08]	Kai	Thanks.
[01:08]	Kai	responds to her care, first.
[01:08]	Kai	It only makes sense, though; you're a blaster type.
[01:09]	Marisa	"Ahaha..."
[01:10]	Marisa	covers her embarrassment with a dry laugh.
[01:10]	Marisa	"Just to be on the safe side, You should take it easy today."
[01:10]	Marisa	"Practice at your own pace, okay?"
[01:11]	Marisa	"It's not like I'm being soft on you or anything, okay? this is just to be safe!"
[01:11]	Kai	Suuure.
[01:11]	Kai	teases her just a bit with awareness of the Tsundere-type.

[01:13]	Marisa	just stand there, blushing.
[01:13]	Marisa	"uh... um. Okay."
[01:16]	Kai	can't help but find some amusement in this.
[01:16]	Kai	It's just that you've taught me magic in a world I originally thought it impossible in.
[01:16]	Kai	It's not like I'm giving you a diamond ring, or anything.

[01:17]	Kai	laces only the latter sentence with sarcasm.

[01:38]	Marisa	draws the grocery list in the air and flick it away so that it post itself somewhere on the wall nearby.

[01:40]	Kai	You seem really skilled.
[01:40]	Marisa	"Ah."
[01:40]	Marisa	"Someone taught me."

[01:42]	Marisa	"A powerful mage, yeah. Her name's Mima."

[01:42]	Marisa	sits besides him, getting into reminiscing mode...

[01:47]	Marisa	"I stopped counting after a while."

[01:48]	Kai	That must have sucked.

[01:49]	Marisa	"So it sucked in a sense, but it was also a great experience."

[01:52]	Marisa	glances at Kai, gauging his reaction.

[01:54]	Kai	Aside from getting scorched every once in a while, yes.

[02:03]	Marisa	"It's been so long since I got some extra help, and now you can say I'm too lazy to do lotsa stuff myself!"

[02:14]	Marisa	"Guess I'll go write my potion making recipe upstairs. I need to record the one I invented the day before."

[02:17]	Marisa	"Hm? Something on your mind?"
[02:17]	Kai	It's nothing important; I was just wondering a few things.
[02:17]	Marisa	flicks her finger, and a chair along with the cushion recieves her just when she sits down.
[02:27]	Kai	First off: do you live so far from the village because of the lasers?
[02:27]	Kai	asks, deadpan. Hopefully the joke will carry?
[02:28]	Marisa	"Nnnnnnnot really. No. Different reason entirely, really."
[02:29]	Kai	. o O ( Damn. Oh well. )
[02:29]	Marisa	"Part of it is because I like the hill out back. Another thing is it's easier to gather my ingredients out here."
[02:29]	Kai	nods.
[02:29]	Kai	That makes sense.
[02:30]	Marisa	"And the villagers doesn't really like western magic much."
[02:30]	Marisa	sheepishly laughs.
[02:30]	Kai	I guess your getup is western...
[02:30]	Kai	trails off, thinking.
[02:31]	Kai	... I guess that makes sense.
[02:31]	Marisa	"They're mostly descended from onmyojin of some branch, so they are not too fond of me."
[02:31]	Kai	I see.
[02:31]	Marisa	"Why do you ask?"
[02:32]	Kai	Pure curiosity, really.
[02:32]	Kai	I kinda like isolation, but also community.
[02:32]	Kai	A little paradox, that.
[02:32]	Marisa	"Ain't we all?"

[02:33]	Marisa	"Don't get me wrong. I do like company. There's Alice, there's Reimu, there's Patchouli..."

[02:34]	Kai	I guess flight bridges the gaps a lot more easily.
[02:35]	Marisa	"Yup. You totally could fly if you know how to manipulate air."
[02:35]	Kai	One thing I thought of when studying it!
[02:35]	Marisa	"Mine use different method, but the end result's the same, so yeah!"
[02:35]	Kai	nods.
[02:36]	Kai	It'll be difficult to create a glider-staff, though.
[02:37]	Marisa	makes "dunnolol" gesture.
[02:37]	Kai	Secondly, when were you born?
[02:37]	Marisa	"Hey, it's rude to ask a lady her age!"
[02:38]	Marisa	"Or anything that leads to a calculation of her age!"
[02:38]	Kai	Well, if I became your roommate, it would suck if I didn't know your birthday.
[02:42]	Marisa	"Well, I'd have to ask my parents for that."
[02:42]	Marisa	"Too bad they are no longer around."
[02:43]	Kai	Sorry for your loss.
[02:43]	Kai	waits for her response before continuing.

[02:47]	Kai	Really just curiosity. It's odd to forget one's own age, though I did forget mine for half a year awhile back...

[02:49]	Marisa	"But I'm not gonna tell you anyway."
[02:49]	Marisa	glares. Jiiiiiiiiiiii.

[02:50]	Kai	Do you think you could blast a hole in the barrier?
[02:50]	Kai	asks, half serious and half joking.
[02:51]	Marisa	"Nuh-uh. No good. I can do some damage, but Reimu and Yukari's gonna be so pissed."
[02:52]	Marisa	"They are in charge of guarding and maintaining it, so yeah."
[02:53]	Kai	Figures.
[02:53]	Marisa	spins the quill around her index finger...
[02:54]	Marisa	"Anything else?"
[02:54]	Kai	Nothing really.

[02:55]	Marisa	"Nah. I'm not in a hurry anywayt."
[02:56]	Kai	I'll be outside, hopefully not flying straight into trees.

[02:56]	Marisa	move upstairs once again. Before she disappears into the first floor, you catch a glimpse of /arisa's happy smile.

[02:58]	Kai	strides outside again, smiling. After he sits on the hill behind the house, he conjures up and moves about air in practice.
[03:03]	GM-Mizi	[At a certain witches' heart, a strange feeling is starting to plant its seed and growing healthy without her knowing. Will the seed creates a bud, then a bloom of flower? Only certain someone can shower it with the rejuvenated feelings...]
