- After playing the game online + offline for a bit, these are my thoughts on the game, and the future it has on my stream.
- Positives
- - Gorgeous looking
- - Huge World w/ tons to explore
- - Combat is good once you figure it out
- - Deep customization in terms of how you want to play the game
- - Content out the wazooo
- - I can waste hours just wandering around fighting things
- - Skells Own (I haven't got mine yet, but I've watched them)
- Negatives
- - Characters are incredibly bleh - (Cutscenes feel so boring and no emotions are shown)
- - Silent Progatonist blows
- - Music has it's moments, but for the most part really meh
- - Very bad at easing you into the game, they throw you in and expect you to read a huge manual instead of teaching you the game in a good way (not a hand holding way , just a helpful way like the first game would be nice)
- - Sometimes TOO complex
- - Not a good stream game FOR ME (Others are having a blast)
- Neutral
- - Online Multiplayer - Haven't gotten a chance to test it out, but looking forward to it.
- So I made a tweet the other day how I felt Xenoblade X was more of a YouTube game than a Twitch game. And I want to talk about that a little bit more. A lot of the game is exploring and grinding with very little story driven elements. To be fair theres a lot of the story I haven't gotten to yet, but i've heard this from a ton of other people. Because of this, from a viewers perspective I feel like theres really not much to get attached to. From a streamers perspective, I get lost in the game and sometimes forget my chat even exists. I just want to play it without feeling like I need to provide commentary and interacting is tough because of how complex the combat is. There's a lot of time im spending 10-15 mins just looking at a menu trying to optimize a set up.
- In general, I really am starting to enjoy the game, but I think im going to enjoy it way more offline than online at least for now.
- It's the type of game I just want to enjoy and not feel pressured to talk about it due to people watching. I like this game for different reasons than the first one, but still prefer a more story driven game like Xenoblade Chronicles.
- Hope this makes sense and you understand where I'm coming from!
