  1. It's not that he's praising capitalism. It's that he's having Bern let Ron Paul rant on about how letting people die is the right thing to do, all without punching the SOB through a wall. Bern letting him spout nonsense is as bad as him letting Grant die, because neither should be allowed to happen. That's what really grinds my gears. After a certain point, an ideology becomes so distasteful that there really isn't a need to continue elaborating upon it. Because nothing that's contained within his future text bubbles will make Ron Paul any less of a jerkass.

  3. As for welfare...well, it's not all bad. There is a need to redistribute wealth accordingly, from those who have more than they need to those who need more than they have. It's just that the idea's been twisted into special interest giveaways to people with lobbyists, who already have enough wealth and power to buy the government. Contrast Medicare with tax cuts for companies who open shop overseas in China. I don't know a decent person who'd say grandma should be left to die, but there's a case to be made that the person who fired you shouldn't be patted on the back for it. In the end, by preventing the unrest of the rich and powerful, the two forces can work together to keep the average joe in his place. Unfortunately, government and business working hand in hand for their benefit alone is fascism. Which brings up some unfortunate implications for the way The Great Benefactor is running his country. Giving Enforcers free reign to pulverize anyone who breaks the no violence law, while making it so that businesses are free to exploit the populace? Works out great for government and business, wouldn't you say? You'd almost think Marvallo was actually a state of covert fascism. Oh wait...it kind of is.

  5. Unfortunately, fascism is hard to fight. Normally you'd have business and government fighting and weakening one another. When they work together, you need some outside force like another country or a roving band of adventurers to come in and shake everything up. Otherwise, fascism remains intact and the people suffer under it. Let's just hope The Great Benefactor doesn't decide to try spreading the glory of Marvallo into Iscariot. Luckily, Iscariot is a land of badass ruled by the big good, so at the very least it's probably still safe from being overrun by the wealthy ruling class.
