  8.
  9. Chapter 2: The Hotel.
  10.
  11. Hasky and Martin were close to the police station.
  12.
  13. Hasky: I think the best way is to find an alternative entrance. We can’t just waste this opportunity, but we can’t enter Rambo-style either, being just the two of us.
  14. Martin: I agree. It’s still a bit risky, but…
  15. Hasky: As soon as we're in danger, we’ll run. If we can.
  16. Martin: Exactly. Let’s go.
  17.
  18. They got in the car again, and drove around the station. That’s when they saw a location that, at least from the outside, didn’t appear to have any zombies at all. The back door.
  19.
  20. Martin: The guns make a lot of noise, and our bullets are limited. Let’s not use them if we can avoid it.
  21. Hasky: Let’s get our knives ready then?
  22. Martin: Yeah, but have your gun ready just in case. We never know what could happen. Also, let’s enter back-to-back so we don’t get ambushed.
  23. Hasky: Sounds good to me. I’ll take the lead.
  24.
  25. Hasky opened the door. They got into the position they agreed on, and went inside. However, they were a little surprised when they saw that there wasn't even a single zombie in the room. They continued to the next room, seeing one zombie, who was distracted with something. Hasky was able to stab him easily. Otherwise, the room was empty; if there was ever anything to take from there, it had already been robbed.
  26.
  27. When they got into the next room, they saw two doors. One seemed to go to some kind of storage. The other one looked like the door to the central part of the station. They decided to head to the storage and open it. When they did, their eyes widened - the place was full of weapons (and even some provisions)... But also full of zombies.
  28.
  29. They broke position, and started to shoot the zombies down. Their aim wasn’t the best, but they managed to kill a fair amount of zombies.
  30.
  31. Hasky: S%@t! I’m out of ammo!
  32. Martin: I've only got a few left!
  33.
  34. Even worse; when they turned back to run, they saw how the shots had attracted more zombies, who were heading towards them.
  35.
  36.
  37. Hasky: Is… Is this the end?
  38. Martin: F%@K!
  39.
  40.
  41. Martin used his last few bullets to shoot two more zombies down, but they had already accepted their fate. They were dying here.
  42.
  43. ... until they heard shots coming from behind that finished off every zombie still in the storage, as well as the ones in the previous room.
  44.
  45. A group of four people entered the storage area. The first was a white, blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy, then a white, black-haired and brown-eyed guy, who was a little taller than the blonde. The third person was another male, black-skinned and a little overweight. The fourth and last person was a tall, athletic girl, with pale skin, red hair and green eyes.
  46.
  47. Hasky and Martin headed to greet them.
  48.
  49. Hasky: Thank you so much… We owe you our lives.
  50. Martin: Name’s Martin. He's Hasky.
  51.
  52. The blonde guy pointed at the black-haired man.
  53.
  54. Blonde guy: Mine’s Ray. This is my bro, John.
  55. Ray: He is Mike (he said, gesturing to the black-skinned guy), and she's Holly.
  56. Holly: Seems like you guys found a great storage place here.
  57. Hasky: Yeah. We almost died, though.
  58. Mike: I guess we’ll have to share what we found.
  59. Martin: Hm. We got here first.
  60.
  61. John looked at Martin’s eyes, seeming pretty upset.
  62.
  63. John: Boy, you wouldn't even be alive if it weren't for us.
  64. Martin: But…
  65. Hasky: They're right, Martin. We have to thank them.
  66. Holly: This guy is smart. He's gonna last longer than you, Martin.
  67. Martin: Don’t even imply I’m going to die.
  68. Holly: Whatever.
  69. Ray: Are you guys alone?
  70. Hasky: Yeah. That’s right.
  71.
  72. Ray thought for a few seconds.
  73.
  74. Ray: Would you guys... want to come with us? We sure could use a few more people not afraid of shooting this monsters.
  75.
  76. Hasky and Martin looked at each other for a moment, before they both looked at Ray and nodded.
  77.
  78. The six of them took the weapons and other provisions to a truck the group brought with them. Most of the weapons were guns, but there were some police batons that they also took with them. They all got in the truck, leaving behind the police car that Hasky and Martin had been using.
  79.
  80. After traveling for around half an hour, they arrived at some kind of hotel. A really small one - probably one-star. When it was open, at least.
  81.
  82. When Ray opened the door, a woman - a bit older, with white hair and dark eyes - appeared from inside, pointing a gun at them.
  83.
  84. Ray: Relax, Estela, it’s just me.
  85. Estela: Oh, Ray. Welcome back.
  86.
  87. Estela put the weapon away. Seeing Martin and Hasky, as well as all the new weapons, she looked surprised.
  88.
  89. Estela: You got some pretty interesting loot.
  90.
  91. Martin and Hasky introduced themselves to her.
  92.
  93. As soon as they finished getting the weapons and provisions out of the truck and into the house, John told Hasky and Martin where the beds were. Martin was a bit distrustful, but Hasky convinced him that if the others wanted them dead, they would've left them back at the station; so at the end, they both went to bed.
  94.
  95. By the time Hasky woke up, it was already getting dark. Martin apparently had gotten up already, as Hasky didn’t see him there.
  96.
  97. When they saw he woke up, Mike and Holly went to talk to him.
  98.
  99. Holly: Hey!
  100. Mike: Did you sleep well?
  101. Hasky: Best I've slept in days, thanks for lending us the beds.
  102. Mike: Hahah, great. Martin told us about how you guys were traveling. And what a travel it ended up being, eh?
  103. Holly: That’s not funny, Mike.
  104. Mike: Oh, c’mon. We have to relax a bit.
  105. Hasky: It’s definitely a good thing to see a bit of humor.
  106. Mike: See? Hasky is one of my kind, hahaha.
  107. Holly: You wish…
  108. Mike: Anyways, shall we get going, Holly?
  109. Holly: I guess.
  110. Hasky: Hm? What are you guys gonna do?
  111. Holly: We are going to check the stock of food and other provisions. John already took care of the guns.
  112. Hasky: Want some help?
  113. Holly: Nah, we're good. Go with Estela. She talked with Martin earlier and they got along. She really enjoys a good talk.
  114. Hasky: Hm…
  115. Mike: I’m sure that both Ray and John want to get to know you better too.
  116. Hasky: Where’s Martin?
  117. Holly: He’s outside. Look over there.
  118.
  119. Holly pointed at a window. Martin was sitting against a tree, sharpening his survival knife with a rock.
  120.
  121. Hasky: How has this group been working?
  122. Mike: Ray kept us alive for the most part.
  123. Holly: Yeah. He is a very capable person. I’m sure that if this s%@t gets as bad as it probably will, he'll be the last man standing.
  124. Hasky: What about John?
  125. Mike: He is a nice guy. But he gets mad easily.
  126. Holly: Don’t ever touch his food. I’m talking by experience.
  127. Hasky: And Estela?
  128. Holly: She… well…
  129. Mike: She is a really sweet lady, but in this situation…
  130. Hasky: Yeah… I know what you mean. Well, I’ll let you guys go do your thing. See you around.
  131. Mike: See ya.
  132.
  133. Mike and Holly headed to the storage.
  134.
  135.
  136. DECISION POINT.
  137.
  138. Who should Hasky go talk to?
  139.
  140. A) Ray
  141. B) John
  142. C) Estela
