OT Wasteland Episode 2: The Tunnel

-THE TUNNEL-
"Cyax, wake up." Said Pokerpo.
He sprung up and looked around, Pokerpo was laying next to him, up against a rock.
"We should get moving."
They got up and continued their trek northward, going past the building with the remains of the old man inside.
"I'm so thirsty." Said Cyax.
"Me too, I know a good source of water around here."
"I thought you were just as clueless as me?"
"Some bits and pieces of my memory are returning."
"Do you remember how you or I got here?"
"Nope."
Cyax stopped and tried to remember something, anything at all, but his thoughts were interrupted by Pokerpo shouting something.
"Look over there!"
He pointed to the horizon, a dark black line was forming all the way across.
"What do you think it is?" Cyax asked.
"I don't know, but I think we should get away from it."
"Good idea."
Cyax could now hear a rumbling coming from the blackness, it was far away whatever it was. The duo made their was eastward, and the black line got thicker and thicker on the horizon as they went. Cyax then spotted something.
"I see something, it looks like a small shack."
"Well let's go to it."
They arrived at the shack, it was made of relatively new wood.
"What do you think it is?" Pokerpo said.
"We will find out once we are inside."
The door opened and they saw a steel manhole cover.
"Looks like some old sewer." Cyax said.
"That wouldn't make any sense, I'll go down first."
Pokerpo climbed down. Suddenly Cyax remembered Pokerpo mentioning that he knew a source of water somewhere. He decided to ask him once they were both down. Cyax stepped off the last rung of the ladder and saw Pokerpo looking around.
"Looks like there is no tunnel down here, just a small little chamber."
Cyax noticed a circle on the wall. He walked over and saw that it was a button.
"Hey Pokerpo, come take a look at this." Said Cyax, pointing to the button.
"What it is?"
"A button, maybe it opens up the other part of the tunnel."
Pokerpo pressed it and a part of the wall slid out of the way to reveal a hallway.
"Wow, let's see what is in there." Said Pokerpo.
As they walked to the 2 great doors at the end of the tunnel, Cyax stopped.
"Hey Pokerpo, you said you knew of a water source nearby, I am still thirsty. We will die if we don't get there soon."
Pokerpo stepped forward.
"I am not Pokerpo."
"What?"
Pokerpo laughed.
"You remember that old man?"
"Yes, I do."
Cyax reached for his dagger.
"Well that was me, your friend Pokerpo is gone. This is my body now, and I will take yours aswell, follow me and don't try anything, I must keeo you at my house."
Pokerpo reached out with his hands to grab Cyax, but he took out his dagger and thrusted it into the man's gut.
"That will not effect me." The man said.
He pulled out the dagger and threw it behind him, then grabbed Cyax's body and walked towards the ladder. Just then, the doors at the end of the hall opened. Out stepped a female figure in a white dress.
"Huh?"
The man in Pokerpo's body turned around. Cyax tried to get away by this distraction, but he still firmly held on.
"I sense you are Niceman." Said the female figure.
"Go away Gardevoir, I am looking for new bodies."
"That is wrong, Niceman. Drop that guy, or you'll leave me no choice but to kill you."
"I'd like to see you try." Said Niceman.
Gardevoir put her hands together and unleashed a dark purple ball.
"Ahh!" Was Niceman's last words as the ball of energy ripped a hole through his chest.
"Not enough, Gardevoir!"
Niceman tried to regenerate his chest, but Gardevoir had already shot another ball. Niceman's head was now gone, and his firm grip went limp.
"Thanks Gardevoir." Cyax said.
"Come inside, we must hide from the Dark Tide." She said.
Cyax had many questions, but he would ask them once he was inside. The doors opened to reveal a huge, steel door. Gardevoir moved her hands around and the door opened.
"Come inside, you must get in."
Cyax went in and saw that this was Gardevoir's home.
"Come sit down, I bet you have a lot of questions." She said.
He sat down and was still very confused by all of this, but his biggest question was about the Dark Tide.
"What is the Dark Tide?" Cyax asked.
"Oh, it is the name of a divison of soldiers from the Akkenian Empire. They go across the wasteland every day and kill all in their way. This is a safehouse you are in, we all live in these to survive."
Cyax asked a dozen more questions, and she answered most of them. He was going to rest here for a while.
