[2011-04-28 17::49:15] Dmitriy_Platonov: When Mia returns from the school or from whereever she was, there's a note on her door. "Please, visit me when you are free. Dmitriy."
[2011-04-28 17::50:56] Mia_al-Misiri: doesn't really do her homework ever so she's free immediately. She dumps her bag by the door, takes her shoes and socks off, and wanders through the hall to Dmitriy's office. She opens the door and walks in without knocking.
[2011-04-28 17::50:59] Mia_al-Misiri: "Hello!"
[2011-04-28 17::53:23] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Wha- Oh, it's you! Hello Mia!" - Dmitriy is actually startled by her sudden entrance and then surprised by her barefootness. He shuts off the monitor of his PC, which was showing some plain text. - "Why are you not wearing shoes?"
[2011-04-28 17::53:44] Mia_al-Misiri: "My feet were warm."
[2011-04-28 17::53:47] Mia_al-Misiri: wiggles her toes.
[2011-04-28 17::55:24] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Uh... a good reason, I think. Do you want to have a seat? Maybe this talk will be long..."
[2011-04-28 17::59:29] Mia_al-Misiri: goes over to the chair and then gasps slightly.
[2011-04-28 17::59:36] Mia_al-Misiri: "Oh! Oh! I need to show you a thing!"
[2011-04-28 17::59:47] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Hmmm? What thing?"
[2011-04-28 17::59:48] Mia_al-Misiri: rushes out, flapping her feet.
[2011-04-28 18::00:04] Dmitriy_Platonov: stares at her back as she leaves, being slightly confused.
[2011-04-28 18::01:22] Mia_al-Misiri: takes a couple of minutes. She runs back in with a large glass jar, with a screw top lid, and slams it on the table quite hard. Mia looks very pleased with this.
[2011-04-28 18::01:31] Mia_al-Misiri: "Look in there!"
[2011-04-28 18::04:39] Doink: The jar appears to be completely empty.
[2011-04-28 18::04:49] Dmitriy_Platonov: looks at the jar. "What is there?"
[2011-04-28 18::05:36] Mia_al-Misiri: opens the top of the jar up and puts her face to it.
[2011-04-28 18::05:39] Doink: A question appears in Mia's mind—Is she sure that this is a good idea?
[2011-04-28 18::05:47] Mia_al-Misiri: "Yes it's fine!"
[2011-04-28 18::06:58] Doink: There is a slightly disturbing twist of space within the jar, and it is suddenly filled.
[2011-04-28 18::07:39] Dmitriy_Platonov: leans back and almost makes a move to grab his handgun, but manages to hold his calm.
[2011-04-28 18::07:40] Mia_al-Misiri: looks up at Dmitriy and smiles widely.
[2011-04-28 18::07:49] Mia_al-Misiri: "Isn't it cool!"
[2011-04-28 18::08:05] Dmitriy_Platonov: "What. Is. That."
[2011-04-28 18::08:05] Doink: The creature inside is approximately 4 inches in diameter, a bulbous cephelopod of sickly green. A ring of beadly black eyes circle its body, and its underside is a mass of far too many tentacles for a creature of that size.
[2011-04-28 18::08:15] Doink: It also appears to be levitating an inch from the bottom of the glass.
[2011-04-28 18::08:37] Mia_al-Misiri: "It's Mr Cthulhu!"
[2011-04-28 18::11:04] Dmitriy_Platonov: immediately pales and tries to look away. But then he realises how small the creature is. It can't be. So he doesn't believe.
[2011-04-28 18::11:31] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Oh, what a funny joke! It really looks kinda like that creature..."
[2011-04-28 18::11:41] Mia_al-Misiri: watches him recoil a bit.
[2011-04-28 18::11:48] Mia_al-Misiri: "No it really is!"
[2011-04-28 18::11:55] Mia_al-Misiri: puts her face to the jar again.
[2011-04-28 18::12:01] Mia_al-Misiri: "Can you say hello to him please."
[2011-04-28 18::13:04] Doink: It just kind of undulates in the jar. You could swear some of those tentacles are overlapping or even passing through each other as they move.
[2011-04-28 18::14:00] Doink: The voice in Mia's mind says it thought she wanted this one 'sane'.
[2011-04-28 18::14:57] Mia_al-Misiri: blinks, pouts, and then fishes it out with both hands. She puts it sitting on her arm and strokes it like a cat, then tries to 'think back' to him.
[2011-04-28 18::15:06] Dmitriy_Platonov: looks at the creature and suddenly understands that it's true. That it's an ageless, hideous, immensily powerful and fearsome entity. Which is somehow reduced to this almost cute state.
[2011-04-28 18::15:17] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Wh... H... How did you do that?!"
[2011-04-28 18::15:23] Mia_al-Misiri: <Can't you just say hello to him?>
[2011-04-28 18::15:30] Mia_al-Misiri: looks up from Cthulhu.
[2011-04-28 18::15:39] Mia_al-Misiri: "I asked him to?"
[2011-04-28 18::15:42] Mia_al-Misiri: doesn't really follow.
[2011-04-28 18::17:01] Dmitriy_Platonov: "When- Oh, I see..." - Dmitriy finally gets a hold on himself. He remembers what Mia is. - "Actually, that's what I wanted to talk with you about. Tell me, how you met... Mr. Chth- this creature."
[2011-04-28 18::17:05] Doink: It says that mental contact would be unsafe for him, and that vibrating air molecules for communication is still something of a problem for it to understand.
[2011-04-28 18::17:20] Mia_al-Misiri: returns the thought.
[2011-04-28 18::17:26] Mia_al-Misiri: <Oh, sorry.>
[2011-04-28 18::17:51] Mia_al-Misiri: "I went to the thing downstairs where he was kept. And then he was in a man and we talked and then he showed me how to do this to things!"
[2011-04-28 18::19:55] Mia_al-Misiri: looks at the statuette and closes her eyes tightly. It stops existing.
[2011-04-28 18::20:31] Mia_al-Misiri: opens them again.
[2011-04-28 18::20:34] Mia_al-Misiri: "Look! It's gone!"
[2011-04-28 18::20:39] Dmitriy_Platonov: reaches the place where the statuette was. It is not there.
[2011-04-28 18::20:44] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Where it is now?"
[2011-04-28 18::20:48] Mia_al-Misiri: "Gone!"
[2011-04-28 18::20:58] Dmitriy_Platonov: "You mean... forever?"
[2011-04-28 18::21:13] Mia_al-Misiri: "Yes. I did this to the thing that stopped Mr Cthulhu from manifesting."
[2011-04-28 18::21:24] Mia_al-Misiri: continues running her fingers across the squid thing.
[2011-04-28 18::22:21] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Wh- Okay, please, tell me more about what happened there. How was it looking, what you did, and what Mr. Chthrh-" - Dmitriy clears his throat. - "what Mr. Cthhulhu said."
[2011-04-28 18::26:49] Doink: [RETCONNING EVERYTHING AFTER: Mia_al-Misiri: "I went to the thing downstairs where he was kept. And then he was in a man and we talked and then he showed me how to do this to things!"]

[2011-04-28 18::27:46] Mia_al-Misiri: pauses for a moment then brings the squid up to her face and whispers to it.

[2011-04-28 18::28:47] Doink: It doesn't know; you are the one who can do it, not it. It supposes you can will it to happen the same way as you did before.
[2011-04-28 18::29:09] Mia_al-Misiri: frowns, then stops and thinks.
[2011-04-28 18::29:21] Mia_al-Misiri: "Um... okay..."
[2011-04-28 18::29:39] Mia_al-Misiri: She puts the squid back in the jar, then gets up from the chair, putting it away neatly.
[2011-04-28 18::30:19] Mia_al-Misiri: flaps a bit, and hops on the spot a couple of times.
[2011-04-28 18::30:43] Mia_al-Misiri: "...Aha!"
[2011-04-28 18::30:54] Mia_al-Misiri: And then everything was made of paper.
[2011-04-28 18::31:48] Mia_al-Misiri: points at the used and broken statuette dramatically, and closes her eyes. And then it stops being there.
[2011-04-28 18::32:47] Mia_al-Misiri: grins at Dmitriy, pleased with herself, as things turn back to being normal from her perspective.
[2011-04-28 18::36:39] Doink: From the perspective of anyone who is NOT Mia, something very, very horrible happens.
[2011-04-28 18::41:23] Doink: The world is WRONG. There is a HOLE in the world, and Mia is at the middle of it and it's shining with a horrible dark radiance that is burning away the world around you and you as well you can feel yourself being /eroded/ by the mere existence of such a thing as the very fabric of reality around you is being erased and bits of other things far too horrible to describe begin to fill in around its edges—
[2011-04-28 18::41:58] Doink: Then, just as quickly, the office is just as it was before.
[2011-04-28 18::42:22] Mia_al-Misiri: is smiling eagerly at him, as this ends.
[2011-04-28 18::42:48] Doink: The statue, it seems, is still there. Well, part of it is
[2011-04-28 18::42:59] Doink: and the other part... doesn't even look like the same statue anymore.
[2011-04-28 18::43:47] Dmitriy_Platonov:  Dmitriy's chair's armrest is broken and his face is now as pale as Siberian snow. He inhales slowly.

[2011-04-28 18::48:54] Mia_al-Misiri: looks back at the statue.
[2011-04-28 18::59:23] Doink: What remains of the statue is just about as ugly as it was before.
[2011-04-28 18::59:44] Doink: But it's a different sort. The designs are different. And the material is a slightly different color.

[2011-04-28 19::07:01] Mia_al-Misiri: watches Dmitriy talking on the phone, and interrupts.
[2011-04-28 19::07:02] Mia_al-Misiri: "What's wrong?"
[2011-04-28 19::08:14] Doink: Lt. Jackson: "Er, yes Sir. Should I send the data on the spacial anomaly to Science?"
[2011-04-28 19::09:56] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Well, yes. Tell them to compare it to events happened recently. Anything else?"
[2011-04-28 19::11:22] Doink: Lt. Jackson: "N-no sir. If you say it's under control..."
[2011-04-28 19::13:13] Dmitriy_Platonov: sighs. "It is under control and there is no enemies I am aware of. You responded properly, though. Good job."
[2011-04-28 19::13:51] Doink: "Thanks, sir. I guess." He signs off.
[2011-04-28 19::14:17] Mia_al-Misiri: is standing looking pretty confused and pitiful. She's taken the squid out of the jar and is stroking it again.
[2011-04-28 19::16:04] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Mia? About a thing that you just did... You know, that is scary. That is wrong and probably harmful. So do it only if you want to hurt and scare someone, someone unfriendly I mean. You understand me?"
[2011-04-28 19::16:29] Mia_al-Misiri: "But... di- it was only a statue!"
[2011-04-28 19::16:48] Mia_al-Misiri: squeeses Cthulhu a bit in panic.
[2011-04-28 19::17:23] Doink: Bits of tentacle pass briefly through Mia's hands. It doesn't seem to mind.
[2011-04-28 19::18:38] Mia_al-Misiri: quite likes the feel
[2011-04-28 19::20:59] Dmitriy_Platonov: "It is not only a statue. It's like... look, you should probably ask your father about that. Or your new... friend." - Dmitriy shudders, looking at Great Chthulhu being stroked and squeezed by a little girl looking like a human.
[2011-04-28 19::21:31] Mia_al-Misiri: asks him. Why shouldn't I do that?
[2011-04-28 19::21:32] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Actually, I wanted to talk with you about that. Could you just tell me what happened when you met it? What were you speaking about?"
[2011-04-28 19::21:44] Mia_al-Misiri: "Hangon I'm talking to him."
[2011-04-28 19::22:03] Mia_al-Misiri: continues stroking him, looking down at the squid.
[2011-04-28 19::26:04] Doink: It supposes these lesser creatures are frightened by it. It could, after all, easily erase them as well.
[2011-04-28 19::29:14] Mia_al-Misiri: questions him again, confused. It can hurt them just by them being around?
[2011-04-28 19::30:54] Doink: It says that, by some logic, it hurts reality itself. It would hurt it, too, if it was actually close-by.
[2011-04-28 19::31:34] Mia_al-Misiri: Oh, ok. Mia apologises, then looks up to Dmitriy.
[2011-04-28 19::31:40] Mia_al-Misiri: "He says it hurts reality."
[2011-04-28 19::34:19] Dmitriy_Platonov: "It's... a weirdly appropriate description. Do you understand that hurting reality is bad for people who belong there?"

[2011-04-28 21::23:12] Mia_al-Misiri: "He said that it was difficult to talk when he was being the zombie. So he said that if the field was gone then it would be easier to talk. So he showed me how to do the thing and then I touched the core and we talked in our heads. I don't know how long that lasted for. And because I asked him not to manifest as a big man, he did this instead."

[2011-04-28 21::25:26] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Yes, I see... You understand that I am a bit worried about him being able to get into a man? It wasn't supposed to happen..." - Dmitriy sighs. - "Actually, I am worried about him being here too, but if you are sure that he will... behave... I will have no objections."
