  20. --
  21. In order to create the ship, the pair needs Upsidasium, a metal that floats. A sizable quarry of it exists in a nearby mountain, and the team sets off for it. They witness the island fall onto their home town, crushing it. The duo rush back, and the character finds his wife dead. Realizing that if he'd been there she could've been saved, the character blames the partner and sends him off.
  22.

  25. The Journey
  26.
  27. Towers
  28. --
  29. Another floating island rises from the sea. The only way to prevent it from crashing and destroying another city is to use the Thunder Beam focused from crystal in the Thunder Tower. The tower has long been in disrepair, so a Spark of Lightning is needed to reactivate the beam. The mayor of the nearby town accompanies them. A spark can only be divined from the sun, so the party enters the Sun Temple. They retrieve the Spark of Light from a catacomb deep inside and bring it to the tower. The Beam focuses and hits the floating island, but energy is released from the island that causes the main character to black out. The dark mist causes the water to turn to lava in the sea.
  30.
  31. The player wakes up knocked far from the blast in the northern part of the map. There, he stumbles across a dark castle. Inside is the main antagonist. He lies, telling the player that the Earth has poisoned itself and that the shadow beasts are the manifestations of its grief. The player asks why, but the antagonist offers no reason; instead, that the only way to save the Earth is to heal the heart of the world, now at the center of the ring of lava. The pair travels to the heart, but the antagonist poisons it even further, causing the island to collapse into the lava. The shadow beasts become stronger. The player is saved by the Mysterious Man and awakens at his enclave.
  32.
  33. There, the player reunites with his partner, who had been gone the majority of the game, as well as the mayor. The Mysterious Man reveals the antagonist as his brother, who had banished him from the castle. An ancient evil known as the Darkness had gripped his mind, and is poisoning the world in an attempt to free itself from the God's prison. With the poisoning of the heart of the world, its return is inevitable, so the point now is to mobilize to stop it once it enters in a weakened state.
  34.
  35. The Twin Beam is revealed to be part of three beams that were designed as failsafes should the world fall pray to darkness. The Fire and Ice beams lay dormant.
  36.
  37. With a Fire Spark retrieved from the early game mountain, which has now become a volcano, the partner realizes that with the wood from the trees and the Upsidasium they carry, they can augment the Mysterious Man's ship to become an airship.
  38.
  39. The Airship travels to the Fire Pyramid, which reactivates the Fire Beam. Inside they find an ancient mechanical construct that joins the party. Meanwhile, the corruption of the earth continues, as they exit the Fire Pyramid they realize that all of the earth's water has become lava, and the darkness which had corrupted the heart of the world is spreading to the rest of the world.
  40.
  41. A third floating island arises. The three beams focus on the tower, but it's not enough to bring down this one. The party urgently searches for the Ice Spark, and finds it in an eternally frozen castle. The Dwarves there say it is a treasure passed down through the ages and that they had protected it with a test. A foot soldier of the dwarves secretly accompanies them, helping them through the dungeon. Once his betrayal is unmasked, the party makes a hasty getaway on the airship towards the Ice Tower.
  42.
  43. However, the floating island is gone. It had crash landed onto the Ice Tower, destroying it completely. The crystal is still intact, but badly damaged. The beam it creates is weak, but it would be able to weaken the evil just enough that the party could take it in combat. In a last ditch effort, the party decides that the best course of action would be to attack the antagonist's castle. They reach it to find a force field surrounding it. It locks the protagonists out, so they crash the airship into it to gain access. Once the airship is crashed, the player cannot return to the overworld.
  44.
  45. Final Dungeon
  46. --
  47.
  48. The beams start attacking the castle, weakening its force field and revealing it for what it truly is. The demonic structure is filled with shadow beasts. The main antagonist is present throughout, summoning four demon bosses to destroy the heroes. They prevail and storm the throne room.
  49.
  50. Climax
  51. --
  52.
  53. After some banter, the final boss gauntlet begins. Phase one is the antagonist; after being allowed to heal, phase two is the antagonist's superpowered form finaly followed by the summoned Darkness.
  54.
  55. End
  56. --
  57.
  58. The game ends as the lava turns back to water and the land's corruption disappears. The main character and the partner return to their kingdom to help rebuild, along with the construct. The mayor returns to govern, the dwarf sets out to rebuild the Ice Tower, and the Mysterious Man disappears.
