  1. >You are Anon
  2. >And you are walking through P0nyville at night with your new friend Fluttershy
  3. >You, her, and Twilight had a long discussion about living arrangements in P0nyville
  4. >Both Twilight and Fluttershy wanted you to stay with Fluttershy for the time being, until word from the Princess about a new species arriving in Equestria was fully absorbed and responded to
  5. >But after hearing about how her cottage was full of all kinds of critters, and how Fluttershy was an animal caretaker, you grew suspicious that they only wanted you to stay there due to your assumed status as an animal
  6. >At least Twilight. Fluttershy seemed to genuinely want you to stay with her
  7. >You must have made a very good impression. But regardless, you want to ensure they see you as a person, not an animal
  8. >So you objected. You’d rather stay at the library, and you voiced this
  9. >It’s the most familiar place to you here, although that’s not saying much
  10. >And even then, animals and you don’t mesh all that well
  11. >You told Twilight that you’d rather stay with her
  12. >Even she was excited about this. Maybe she wanted to run some tests on you or something? Or maybe she really wanted you to stay as well?
  13. >You don’t know, but at least she agreed. But it left poor Fluttershy heartbroken
  14. >So you bent over and gave her a quick snuggle, which perked her right up
  15. >She must have been ready to leave, too, because her wings shot up, seemingly ready for flight
  16. >You offered to walk her home as well. It seemed to be a fairly straight pathway there and back, and you wanted to get a little more familiar with the area anyway
  17. >And so you arrive where you are now, walking through P0nyville, Fluttershy fluttering around you, and you bouncing your basketball, working on your dribbling as you go
  18. >”Anon, are you sure I can’t get you to change your mind? You’d fit in so well with all my critter friends, and I have a nice warm bed we could share…”
  19. >Sharing a bed was something you didn’t do much either. Even your friends you opted to sleep on the ground. Except with Tiffany, but only because she insisted, and it’s hard to say no to her
  20. >You’d be lying if you said you didn’t want to share a bed with her a little too…
  21. Ehh… thanks Ms. Fluttershy, but honestly, I’d feel more comfortable in the town. You understand, right?
  22. >You say, faking a shot with your ball
  23. >She lets out a sigh
  24. >”O-okay, if you insist. But if you ever want to come visit, I’d love to have you.”
  25. And I’d love to be had.
  26. >You say with a smile
  27. >The implications of such a statement are lost on your still-slightly-innocent mind
  28. >She blushes a bit. You question why internally
  29. >Before you know it, the town is behind you, and a winding path leads you to a quaint cottage by a stream
  30. >You walk her to the door
  31. >”Thanks for walking me home, Anon…” she says, blushing a little
  32. >You rustle her mane
  33. Not a problem, Ms. Fluttershy, have a good night.
  34. >”Y-you too…” she says. She opens her door, hesitates a little, then quickly pecks you on the cheek before rushing inside
  35. >You’re left on the doorstep, holding the spot she kissed awkwardly
  36. >Must be affectionate when she gets to know someone
  37. >With that, you turn around and head back to P0nyville, dribbling your ball as you go
  38. >”Hey, what’s that thing?”
  39. >You hear from up above
  40. >You instinctively stop your dribbling, grip the ball in your hands, and look up
  41. >Nothing but a perfect night sky, the moon shining beautifully among the glistening stars, with a few clouds passing by
  42. >One seems lower than the others
  43. Hello?
  44. >You call out
  45. >”Yeah, over here!”
  46. >The cloud begins the descend, before appearing at your height
  47. >A blue pegasus p0ny with a rainbow mane and tail sits atop it
  48. >”You must be Anon, huh?”
  49. >Word gets around fast, apparently
  50. Yeah, that’s me. And you are?
  51. >She hops off of her cloud. “Name’s Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer in all of Equestria!”
  52. >You smile, exhaling a small breathy laugh
  53. >”So what’s the ball?” she asks again
  54. >For a second, you’re perplexed. Then you realize they probably don’t even have this sport over her
  55. This? This is a basketball.
  56. >You say, bouncing it a couple of times.
  57. It’s used to play… well, Basketball.
  58. >”That a sport?” she asks.
  59. Sure is. Want to walk with me to the library? I’ll tell you all about it.
  60. >You walk toward the library with Rainbow Dash, telling her all the details of basketball. She seems pretty interested; apparently she’s pretty athletic herself
  61. >”So wait, you need hands to ‘dribble’ the ball?” she says, glancing down at her fingerless hooves
  62. >You laugh a little
  63. Unfortunately so. But hey, maybe you could play with your wings there.
  64. >You say, giving them a flick
  65. >They stiffen up almost instantly. Rainbow Dash’s pupils shrink and she blushes
  66. >Maybe you invaded some kind of personal space?
  67. O-oh, sorry…
  68. >She quickly folds her wings back and glances away
  69. >”H-heh, oh, no worries, Anon.” she says, a little flustered.
  70. >Well, you’ll try to avoid touching p0nies’ wings in the future
  71. >But she COULD use them to dribble…
  72. >To salvage the situation, you drop the basketball next to her
  73. >The sound gets her attention again, and she stares at it as it continues to bounce, lower and lower, until it settles on the ground
  74. >She then looks up to you, a little perplexed
  75. Well go on!
  76. >You say encouragingly
  77. >She glances back down at the ball, then extends her wing out
  78. >She slaps it a bit, causing it to stir
  79. >She looks at it angrily
  80. >She hits it harder with her wing, popping it up to a decent height
  81. Good! Now push it back down again!
  82. >She uses her wing to press it back towards the ground
  83. >It bounces, as basketballs do, and pops back up. She catches it again, pushing it down, then up, then catching it…
  84. >She gets the hang of it quite quickly, and before you know it, she’s dribbling
  85. That a girl!
  86. >You cheer, clapping with a smile on your face
  87. >She blushes a little and passes the ball back to you
  88. >You catch it in your palm and continue the dribble
  89. >”We’re here.” She says with a smile
  90. >Wow, already? You look up to see the big tree-library that is Twilight’s place of residence
  91. Heh, so we are. Thanks for walking me, Ms. Dash.
  92. >She snorts a laugh. “Don’t call me that, Anon, just Rainbow Dash is fine.”
  93. Alright, well thanks Rainbow Dash. Maybe another time I can teach you how to shoot!
  94. >She smiles. “I’d like that.” Her wings extend open. “Well, see you around, squirt!”
  95. >And with that, she takes off
  96. >A nice woman… er, mare, that Rainbow Dash is
  97. >Now you just need to find a proper hoop to play with her
  98. >…ehh, you’ll manage
  99. >You knock on the library door
  100. Ms. Sparkle? I’m back.
  101. >The door opens, being held by the little dragon Spike
  102. >You unknowingly take a step back when you see him
  103. >He rolls his eyes
  104. >”Look Anon, I’m not dangerous, okay? I’m just a normal guy. I’m not going to hurt you.”
  105. >At this moment, you realize you really have offended him
  106. >You step forward again
  107. …sorry. It’s just that, back where I’m from, dragons have always been depicted as really dangerous, y’know?
  108. >”You have dragons where you’re from?”
  109. Well… no, not exactly. They’re made-up.
  110. >You think back to the mighty dragon Smaug guarding his treasure from Thorin’s clan and Bilbo
  111. >You wonder if Spike here will grow to be like that someday
  112. >”Ah. Well, we are dangerous. Just I’m not. So don’t worry, okay?”
  113. Sure thing, buddy.
  114. >You say, holding out your fist
  115. We cool?
  116. >He laughs, causing tiny amounts of smoke to rise from his nostrils. Looked pretty awesome
  117. >”Yeah, we’re cool.” He says, returning your fist-bump.
  118.
  119. >Twilight was ecstatic upon your return
  120. >She seemed even more happy when you told her about your walk with Rainbow Dash
  121. >”You’re already meeting all of my friends! This is great!”
  122. >You laugh nervously once again. This whole situation has been so bizarre
  123. >”So Anon, I was wondering if I could gather some more information about you for the princess.”
  124. >You’re actually pretty tired, but Twilight’s so jumpy and giddy about this, you’d hate to crush her spirits
  125. Yeah, sure.
  126. >You say, giving a thumbs up
  127. >The realization hits that they probably won’t even know what this means
  128. >With that, you’re on display once again
  129. >She measures your arms and legs, each finger, head, everything
  130. >Her note taking has gone off the charts
  131. >”Your stature, limbs, and bone structure all seem very similar to that of an ape… are you sure you’re not some kind of mutated monkey?”
  132. >You shoot her a dirty look, then smile again
  133. >She means well
  134. No, I’m a human.
  135. >You think back to that lesson you had a few months ago in school
  136. I think we’re related, though…? Through evolution. We share… common ancestors… or something like that…
  137. >”Evolution?” she asks
  138. Yeah, it’s like… over time, orgran… orgamin… ornag… animals change due to the environment… or something…
  139. >You didn’t pay attention much during that lesson
  140. >You really don’t want to mislead her
  141. If I had my science textbook, I could tell you so much more…
  142. >You scratch your head nervously
  143. Well, to be sure, I’m not a monkey.
  144. >She smiles at you, then scribbles some more
  145. >”So how do humans…” she stutters, blushes a little, clears her throat, and continues: “reproduce?”
  146. How do we what?
  147. >”How do they… mate? Make more children? Is it standard mammalian intercourse?”
  148. >You’re totally lost
  149. Like… sex?
  150. >You feel dirty using the word
  151. >Rumor from higher grade kids is that in middle school you take sex-ed to learn more about it
  152. >You know very little, but it’s not something you entirely wanted to talk about either
  153. >”Yeah, like that.” She says, smiling sheepishly
  154. Um… I’m not exactly sure? I’m only twelve…
  155. >She clears her throat again
  156. >”Well, it’s not really something we need to go over anyway.”
  157. >You laugh nervously again
  158. >”Well,” she says, trying to regain her ‘professional’ demeanor, “would you please remove your clothing so I can get a more in-depth chart of your anatomy?”
  159. >Your hands instinctively cover your crotch
  160. What?! No!
  161. >She reels back in surprise
  162. >Ooh, maybe you were a little too startling?
  163. I-I mean no. Um… where I’m from, you don’t go around showing people what’s under your clothes… it’s personal… y’know?
  164. >She doesn’t know. These p0nies go around naked all the time
  165. >Different culture in that sense for sure
  166. >”Okay.” she says, seemingly disappointed. “Sorry for invading any kind of personal space.”
  167. >You take your hand away from your crotch and sigh
  168. No need to worry. You didn’t know.
  169. >You flash a smile to show you’re being sincere
  170. >She smiles back
  171. Anyway Ms. Sparkle, I really am tired. Is it okay if I hit the hay?
  172. >Heh. Hit the hay
  173. >She beams. “Of course, Anon!”
  174. >She begins trotting up the stairs
  175. >”You can sleep in my bed with me!”
  176. >Oh shoot. This is exactly the kind of thing you were trying to avoid
  177. >Better nip this in the bud
  178. Actually, Ms. Sparkle, I’d probably be more comfortable sleeping…
  179. >She looks so disappointed by these words
  180. …by myself…
  181. >Her ears droop down a little
  182. >”Oh. I understand, Anon.”
  183. >She trots back downstairs
  184. >”I could make you a small sleeping area next to mine upstairs?”
  185. >On the ground, just like you wanted, perfect
  186. That’d be great, thanks.
  187. >She smiles, ears still flat
  188. >”It’s just that…”
  189. >She looks down to the ground
  190. >Wow, full shy mode here, it seems
  191. >”Well, I saw what you were doing with Fluttershy earlier, and I was wondering…”
  192. You want to be pet?
  193. >She blushes a little
  194. >”Yeah…” she says, looking up to you with a sheepish smile
  195. >You laugh to yourself internally. They really don’t need to be so awkward about these kinds of things
  196. Sure.
  197. >She smiles brightly
  198. >You two walk up to her bed
  199. >She lays down on her front and snuggles herself into her mattress
  200. >You sit down at the edge, putting your palm on her head, and petting her all the way down to those weird tattoos on her thighs
  201. >She shivers with each pet
  202. >Is it cold in here or something?
  203. >Or maybe it’s the petting?
  204. >You have no idea
  205. >After about fifteen minutes of petting, she seems to drift off into sleep
  206. >You pat her on the back and rise from the bed
  207. >You arrange with Spike a sort of comfortable spot next to the bed, much like him, and settle in yourself
  208. >What a bizarre day. Maybe an even more bizarre tomorrow. You have no idea with talking-horse-land
  209. >With that, you drift off to sleep
  210.
  211. >You are Fluttershy
  212. >And you’re so disappointed Anon didn’t want to spend the night with you
  213. >There’s something about that human…
  214. >The way he pet you, the way he was so kind and inviting to you when you saw him…
  215. >He makes you feel all tingly inside
  216. >You watch from your window as he leaves, bouncing his base-kit-ball
  217. >The thud becoming more and more quiet
  218. >Then you flutter toward your bed for a good night’s sleep
  219. >The bed seems so lonely now…
  220. >Even with all of your animal friends here, you feel so solemn
  221. >Has this human child affected you this much?
  222. >You look back out the window
  223. >Too late, he’s gone…
  224. >You sigh
  225. >Well, he’s not far off in town
  226. >Maybe you can convince him to stay another time
  227. >Or maybe for… forever
  228. >You smile slightly
  229. >Anon needs to know how you feel, some way or another
  230. >Maybe not now, or tomorrow, but soon
  231. >You can’t scare him off though… he’s so young, he may not understand love like you do
  232. >But you can show him
  233. >Subtly, hopefully
  234. >He’ll love you like you love him
  235. >You’ll make him see
  236. >You’ll make him
  237.
  238. End of Part 2
