  1. My Friends,
  2.
  3. Thank you for your support; for every prayer, card, letter, tweet, post, and donation. I’m sorry if I’ve scared you and I want you to know I am safe, but still very much in need of your assistance.
  4.
  5. This morning, I was on the verge of death during my 6th day of my 4th fluid stoppage. Given what happened to both Justina Pelletier and Aaron Swartz on their watch, I had hoped my prosecutors would demonstrate compassion, conscience, and a sense of justice. Sadly however, as before, they instead showcased their stubborn pride and callous disregard for human life. I want to be absolutely crystal clear on this; Carmen Ortiz and Adam Bookbinder would have let me die rather then do what is right and inevitable, just as they were willing to let both Justina and Aaron perish. Yet again they showed their true colors and they should be ashamed of themselves in addition to the very public disgrace they already bear.
  6.
  7. Regardless, in order to preserve my life, I resumed taking fluids and I will end my hunger strike on Inauguration Day. I have high hopes the new administration will do what is just for me and also for the Pelletiers. Both Justina and I are now but shadows of our former selves, meanwhile the truly guilty are yet to be held accountable.
  8.
  9. So, I ask you to continue spreading the truth of what happened; that defending Justina’s life without risking harm to others was not a crime and she is still in a wheelchair, having very nearly died, while those prosecuting me refused to stand up to a politically well-connected organization. Please contact our new Acting Attorney General Sally Q. Yates, and yet to be confirmed pick Jeff Sessions and politely ask that they dispose of the case against me and instead focus federal attention on the long overdue civil rights investigation of Boston Children’s Hospital. Please contact our legislators and demand non-partisan work to pass Justina’s Law and similar safeguards, so that no future child in our great nation ever has to endure the torment she did.
  10.
  11. I also must express my gratitude to; The Huffington Post, Newsweek, The Rolling Stone and others who are shedding light on what happened. Rolling Stone is set to publish in February or March, and I implore survivors of institutionalized child abuse to take full advantage of the opportunity in order to make their experiences known. Please rest assured that I will continue my advocacy while working to regain my strength.
  12.
  13. Once Again, Thank You For Everything,
  14. Marty
