1. I'll put it simply: The party is sent to investigate a rash of disappearances situated all across the country. A string of clues leads them to the hideout of the cause of these disappearances: a mysterious robed figure and his fanatical cult: The Spawn Of The Wind Fish. The cultists have been kidnapping dozens of people and subjecting them to an endless sleep, plagued by dreams and nightmares of all kinds, in an attempt by Zant to control the people of Hylia and achieve ultimate power. The party soundly defeats the cult, but the leader gets off one last attack before they reach him, putting the party to sleep.

 3. When the party wakes up, they find themselves on a strange island far off at sea. The residents are all people who have mysteriously washed ashore. The people live in relative harmony, except for the encroaching threat of unusual and hideously-aggressive creatures made of shadow led by positively massive demons representing primal fears. As the party defeats the demons, the land changes in strange ways seemingly tied to the ways the party has been acting. If they acted astonishingly greedily, the land suddenly takes on a rupee-like sheen to it, and monsters start being made out of glittering gems and fine silks, for example.

 5. When the last shadow monster falls in his massive fortress of fear and evil, the party wakes up none the worse for wear in the cult's headquarters. The leader, infuriated and panicked at the party's ability to withstand his ultimate attack, engages in a last-ditch effort to save his skin. With nowhere else to go but down, the leader unveils how he was able to force people into an unending dream: he's got a piece of the Fused Shadow (or Mirror of Twilight (or the power of a Light Spirit)! With a portion the unimaginable power of the Twili and the Sages at his hands, the leader becomes a truly terrifying beast, and engages in a final battle. After a long-fought fight, the leader finally falls, and the party can collect a gorgeous bounty, plus the love of Hyrule. One more great threat to the country's people destroyed, and one more Macguffin at the heroes' belt!
