  10. Backstory:
  11. Comet was born on Terrastran, a small world betwixt the Lunar Republic and Pegasus Tail Colonies. It was a small, uneventful planet, the type where nothing happens and passersby pay no heed and never remember it. A quiet place like this made Comet and his friends easily amazed by the tales of what happened elsewhere in the galaxy, especially of the Pegasus Trail Grand Prix. The Grand Prix was an impressive event to the young ponies, one they dreamed of seeing, or even being a part in one day. They built their own little racetrack, if you can call a path in the dirt that, and began to race amongst themselves. They practiced at all available opportunities, growing better and better each day. However, Comet wasn't too gifted in being fast, he was however amazing at maneuverability, he might not outrun anything, but he could pull off twists and turns others couldn't even think of. Soon Comet sat out to watch his friends race, having set up their own amateur race league on their little rock floating through space. While his friends kept up their dreams to enter the Grand Prix, Comet's shifted. He heard more of the Lunar Republic over time, and their ideals of freedom for all, and this was something that he wanted to keep true, especially when he heard rumors of the seedy underbelly of Nimbus IV. He didn't want his friend's dreams to be shattered by somepony pushing some hold or block over them.
  12. Eventually the time came when Comet and his friends all raises enough money for them to get off their quiet home and head for the stars, and that's when they parted ways. He announced he was heading to enlist to the Lunar Republic's Army, so he could have the ability to keep up freedom so ponies could follow their dreams. It was a sad departure, but Comet told his friends if they ever ran into trouble, he'd come at a moment's notice. His friends responded saying he better be the top soldier when they next meet, which was met by saying only if they are the Grand Prix champions by then.
  13. Comet had a hard time when joining the Republic's military, not being too strong himself, but made great work in being an infiltrator. His maneuvering making it perfect to get into exposed weak spots and easily getting in and out of nearly anywhere. While he wasn't the top soldier (yet), he did get to be one of the first to be called for his field. He got to see the galaxy, or at least mostly the Lunar controlled section, and while it didn't hold up to the grandiose images he thought of as a child, it still left him awestruck at each new area he saw. This wasn't always good though, some of the places were so deplorable that he was shocked a place could be left like that. Places with terrible living, and he say places outside the Lunar Sector that didn't have the freedom that he grew to be used to. He made himself an oath on seeing this, that he would do everything possible in his power to insure ponies could see the freedom that he wanted to uphold by joining the army. Another thing he made an oath to do was to repay any help offered by those he met out on his travels. He knew deep down that those who helped others were good souls, and he held those who helped him as high as friends.
  14. Later on in life, Comet received a message from his friends. While not quite Grand Prix material yet, they were highly ranked in the B rank league. They had an upcoming race on Ventra, but the tracks was sabotaged and they sent word to him as he said to do back when they parted. He hurried over, glad to see his friends again and also to get this issue solved fast so their dreams wouldn't be put on hold. Their reunion was happy but short, they found the sabotage was only due to ill-maintenance from one of the caretakers of the track. With no work to do, Comet saw this as a great opportunity for them all to catch up with their long separation. The next day they held a little practice race just like when they were kids. However, disaster struck mid-way, a rock tunnel section of the track collapsed, and Comet was trapped after pushing his friends out of the way. Trapped under the rubble, and pinned down, it seemed to be the end, until an unknown pony appeared from a side path in the cave, and helped Comet out. After they came out on the other side of the cave, the pony ran off, leaving Comet alone when his friends found him. They were amazed he was able to get out, he described the pony that helped him saying he wouldn't have gotten out if not for him. They never heard of him, saying he must just be one of the local ponies of this planet who must have been in the right place at the right time. Comet made a mental note to find this pony sometime to thank him.
  15. The second incident rose too much suspicion to just be a simple maintenance error, and now Comet was on the case to find who could be messing with the track, and why. After much searching, and speaking with both his friends and the other ponies to be in the upcoming race, he found no trace of anyone who would want to mess with the track or the racers (and no trace of the mystery pony in any of the nearby towns). With no leads, Comet went to examine the cave that the tunnel passed through, to see if there was any evidence as to who might have caused it. Going back through the path the mystery pony lead him through, he found the area cleared enough to be passed through, when before there was barely any space to sit. Looking deeper, he found some paths where cleared through the rubble, and they lead to underground tunnels. Heading back to inform the others on this and to get back up, he found his friends were missing. He was told they were checking other parts of the track to see if any other section was sabotaged, and haven't come back for a while. Comet left to find his friends, but without much luck. After covering most of the track, he came across another tunnel beside one of the track supports. It looked new, dirt was still strewn about sloppily as it was just dug in a hurry. Comet went down it, thinking maybe his friends came across it as well. The tunnel dove down deep into the ground, and eventually Comet came to an opening, and what he saw shocked him. The cavern had tracings of cocoon and other biomass he recognized the army telling him signs of Sludgenoid activity.
  16. Comet quickly ran out of the tunnel to send an emergency call to get backup for clearing out the aliens. Reaching the town, he heard there was still no sign of his friends. Dreading the worse, he went around the town asking if anyone noticed any disappearances or anypony acting oddly recently. No one noticed any of that, Comet took that as a good sign. Soon a troop of other Lunar Republic soldiers landed on the planet, with orders for them and Comet to go through the tunnels, examine the depth of the sludgenoid nesting and report back, exterminating any sludgenoids if they cross any. With the 2 possible entrances to the hive, they split into two groups. One would keep watch on the first tunnel Comet found in the collapsed cave, and the other group with Comet would head down the newly found one. They traveled down the tunnel, passing the first signs of the sludgenoid infestation and reaching a large network of tunnels going all different directions. Comet, who's main priority was trying to find his friends if they were taken down here, told the soldiers to head down a separate tunnel, saying he could dodge any alien if he came across trouble. They were hesitant, due to splitting up in a sludgenoid hive is not the wisest idea, but there were too many tunnels and they needed the recon information.
  17. So Comet went alone through the tunnels, not coming across any sludenoid himself, but he could hear the occasional shout and gun shot echoing through the hive from his soldier allies. Losing hope and also trying to believe maybe his friends weren't captured, he found an open room with some cocoons. He looked into one and saw one of his friends, a wave of relief came over him. As he was moving from cocoon to cocoon to make sure if all his friends were together, he hear hoofsteps. Turning around, he saw the pony who saved him walking out from behind a stack of empty cocoon shells. Surprised to see the pony here of all places, Comet walked over and thanked him for saving his life, and told him not to worry and that he'd help get him out of this hive to safety. As Comet took out a dagger and began to pry open the cocoons, the other soldiers come enter the room. They told Comet to hurry and get out as the hive is alerted to them, Comet told them he wasn't leaving without his friends and any other ponies that were trapped in this room. The soldiers told him to speed up and they would cover him, a few sludgenoids approaching from behind as they said that. As the soldiers were taking down the sludgenoids, the mystery pony was twisting and turning in pain, Comet turned to see if he was okay, but then the mystery pony shimmed as he turned into a changeling. Shocked to see the pony was actually a sludgenoid, Comet was frozen for a moment, the other soldiers turned after clearing the few sludgenoids attempting to ambush and raised their guns at the new sludgenoid. Comet snapped back to reality, and jumped in front of the sludgenoid, telling the soldiers that this sludgenoid saved his life, so he can't be all bad. They dismissed his pleads, telling him if he wouldn't move, he would be considered sided with the sludgenoids and they would shoot the both of them down.
  18. Comet held his ground, he remembers that the army told him of sludgenoids and how they were an evil hive-mind alien race, working to subvert civilizations with shape shifting and mental trickery. He couldn't believe that could be true now, if only for this one sludgenoid who saved his life when it could have easily left him and taken his form. Comet told the soldiers he wouldn't move, that he gave this sludgenoid his word he would get him out of here to safety, and he would rather die than go back on that. They rose their guns, ready to fire, and from the other side of the room more changelings entered and leap forward and the intruding ponies. The soldiers opened fire, and the sludgenoids leapt forward, Comet and the sludgenoid he was protecting in the middle. Comet's thought were running rampant, wanting to protect this sludgenoid who saved his life, wanting to save his friends, and now his allies were at risk of getting swarmed in this hive as well. Refusing to let all of this end here, he drew out his daggers, and time froze.
  19. Comet exhalted, his dedication to protecting his friends, allies, keeping to his word and refusing to back down from his ideals. The new Knight of Fidelity spun his blades in a flurry of steel, knocking away the ambushing sludgenoids and deflecting back the gunfire threatening the lone sludgenoid. Cut and injured from the fangs and bullets that got through his daggers, he turned to the awe-stricken soldiers, telling them to grab the ponies who were trapped in the cocoons and to start getting out. They cut open the remaining cocoons, freeing Comet's friends and finding a number of the ponies who worked on the racetrack, and began to work their way out of the hive. Comet turned to the lone sludgenoid, and told him to hurry and follow. They all managed to get out without running into the rest of the hive warm, but they knew it would be coming. As Comet made sure the captured ponies were alright, the soldiers sent their report back to the Republic army. A large troop arrived soon after to clear out the hive, it was found to be fairly small compared to other hive reports, and appeared to be new as well. As the hive was cleared, the lone sludgenoid Comet saved was in terrible pain, its hive-mind link feeling he deaths of its brethren. Comet was brought in to be questioned on his actions, he defied orders, sided with the sludgenoids, and risked the success of the mission, a serious offense. However, he was also now a Knight of Harmony, important to the balance of harmony and punishment would interfere with his needed training. So, they gave him ultimatum, since he was so keen on saving this one sludgenoid, he could be free since the rest of his hive would be cleared and the hive-mind link severely weakened if not removed. But, the sludgenoid would be under his watch, and if he stepped out of line or broke any law, both would be punished to the full extent. Comet agreed, a small price for him to pay to give the sludgenoid its freedom.
  20. Comet met back up with his friends after his trial. His friends were amazed that he was a Knight of Harmony now, and grateful for saving their lives. Luckily with Comet's early finding of the tunnels, they would get fixed up so the track could be safe in time for their race, another thing they were grateful for. Comet told them he would be leaving soon for his knight training and wouldn't be able to see them race, they told him not to worry, since he achieved his dream, they would have theirs achieved too next time they met. A happy farewell was had, and Comet went to find the sludgenoid who was being watched over by the Republic during all of this. Comet told the sludgenoid it was free now, and he would be his partner so he could travel and see the galaxy as a free alien. The sludgenoid was confused, still in pain from the severed mind link and having all of this happen so fast. Come spoke again, telling it his name. All it said in response was "Rokarx", its name.
  21. With his new knighthood and his sludgenoid partner, Comet took leave for training, ready to have the ability to give freedom to those that need it.

His default pony disguise is Eclipse, a male pegasi with a (#8870D6) coat, a (#06256D) mane/tail, and (#47036D) eyes. His cutie mark in this form is a solar eclipse.
  32. Backstory:
  33. Rokarx was a newly hatched sludgenoid on the planet Ventra, part of a new hive sent to subvert and take over this area. He was part of the scouting drones, researching and spying on the locals to find prime initial targets to start with for societal infiltration. He picked the planet's racetrack, a perfect location with the large number of ponies passing through daily. Rokarx began marking a number of the maintenance crew for the other drones to capture and replace, a good start allowing them to keep watch over the nearby tunnels without suspicion. One day, when he was heading back into the hive from the nearby town (disguised as a pony local), he heard a loud crashing as the tunnel entrance collapsed. Heading into the cave through a hidden entrance, he found the opening to the tunnel system had removed the support of the track section above, and it came crashing down. Another particular sight was a pegasus trapped underneath the rubble. Normally this would be great for a sludgenoid, a trapped being makes for an easy persona to shapeshift into and take its place in society, but Rokarx felt the odd need to save this one. He helped lift off the rubble and carry this pegasus out, and left quickly once they got outside.
  34. Rokarx began to think on this later, something about that pony made him act in a selfless way, something he hadn't felt before. He gathered a few other drones to begin clearing the collapsed tunnel entrance, and pushed these thoughts aside. The next day, he saw a group of pegasi going around the track, snooping around. He alerted the rest of the hive, and the pegasi were ambushed and captured after discovering one of the other tunnels. As he began to look around the track (disguised), he began to feel towards those captured pegasi as he did to the first one he found alone. Wanting to figure out what this feeling was being caused by, he went back down into the hive to where they were being held. Studying the dormant pegasi and the other cocooned ponies, he sensed intruders in the hive over the mind link, despite the call to defend his home, he stayed so he could figure out what was calling these feelings of selflessness. Hearing hoofsteps approach and not sensing any nearby sludgenoids, he moved behind a cluster of cocoons. He was shocked to see the first pegasi from earlier, who began to break the cocoons open. He stepped out into view, curious to see if he could finally figure out why this pony caused these thoughts. He was more shocked when the pegasi thanked him and acting like they were best friends. Suddenly his mind was filled with pain, other sludgenoids were being killed by the intruders. He saw other ponies enter the room, and began to speak with the pegasi before turning to attack more of his brethren who came up behind them. The pain became too much and his pony disguise dissipated, revealing his sludgenoid form. He saw the new ponies raise their weapons at him, and he braced expected to join his fallen brothers, but the pegasi jumped in the way. Surprised at this pony's actions, but he began to realize why was feeling these unusual feelings. This pegasi would give anything to help others to such an extant that when he first saw him, he passively absorbed some of this feeling. He was snapped out of this realization once he sensed more of his brethren enter from the other side of the room. After that, everything seemed to happen in an instant. The sounds of gunfire, the hissing and screeching of sludgenoids falling, a flash of light, and the sound of metal clashing. Then all went silent, his body was wracked with pain from his slain brothers, and the pegasi told him to follow.
  35. He left his home, his body filled with pain and his mental link going crazy. He saw the pegasi talking with many other ponies, looking similar to the ones who killed his brothers, and the talking became shouting, and then the pegasi left with some of them, and some others took him to a empty room. He sat alone, the door guarded, and his mind blank. He couldn't hear or sense any other sludgenoid, the pain was beginning to fade, and his emotions were a mess. After a time, the pegasi came back, telling him was was free. This was an unknown word to him, he was confused at this. Then the pegasi told him he would be his partner and he would look after him, and this brought up an oddly calming feeling. Finally, the pegasi said his name. He was at a loss, he couldn't remember having a name, all communication between sludgenoids was direct so names weren't needed. His thoughts finally starting to calm and regain order, he said the first thing that came to mind, "Rokarx".
