[13:21] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 When last we left our band of misfits, they had just finished devastating a group of raiders in the inner city. Their swift and decisive defeat of these raiders allowed them to vent some of the frustrations that had been building up around the contents of a certain black box, and the shocking revelations it had given to the party.
[13:22] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 We join the the following morning, after spending the night in a building close to the Raider's camp. Hopefully their rest was restorative, as they have plenty of other things on their mind to keep them going.
07[13:24] * +Desert_Storm stretches and yawns loudly. Slowly turning over, she opens a box of cereal and has a dry breakfast.
15[13:27] * +Karina is already up and poking at her damaged new rifle... She's looking at it, but she for sure doesn't know how to fix it.
07[13:28] * +Fire_Lily is spending the morning reading. She's starting to enjoy it.

15[13:29] * +Karina sighs. Well... Cookie was dead. He wasn't going to be fixing up weapons anymore. "So does anyone know how to fix a gun?"
04[13:29] * +Desert_Storm waves a hoof at Karina. "Let me take a look at it."
15[13:30] * +Karina blinks at Desert_Storm. Huh. She gets up and hoofs the rifle over to her.
07[13:32] * +Primer yawns and rummages around in her pack for a can of food.
[13:34] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith grumbles form near the entrance; "Bout time you guys woke up."
07[13:35] * +Primer looks sideways at Wraith. "Cool it big guy, we smoothcoats needs out beauty rest."
07[13:36] * +Desert_Storm digs through her pack for a weapon repair kit. It was in rough shape, but this ought to do the trick. With some duct tape and a few pieces of scrap metal, it was almost as good as new. "Here you go." She rolls her eyes at Wraith. "Didn't think we were in a hurry to get anywhere."
[13:36] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith rolls his eyes. "Pity."
15[13:37] * +Karina furrows her brow a bit in thought but takes the weapon back. "Thanks..."
07[13:37] * +Keen awakens whenever Primer moves away. He hadn't slept well, and he'd been clinging on throughout the night. Keen blinks and realized that they were getting up now.

07[13:42] * +Primer nods. "As well as could be..." She finally locates a can of veggies and pops it open.
04[13:43] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith comes away from the entrance and observes Karina's rifle; "It's a decent piece. Better than most raider weapons usually are. Probably explains how he got the drop on that other guy. Or maybe from him."
15[13:45] * +Karina finishes putting the rifle away and looks up at Wraith. "What other guy?"
[13:46] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wriath looks outside; "The guy who's head was on a pike and body was few to those dogs I squished."
[13:47] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith notes; "According to the guy with that rifle, the poor sap had been another of DJ P0N-3's so called 'heroes'."

15[13:48] * +Karina nods. "Oh... right. I wasn't exactly listening to anything before the fight..."

07[13:52] * +Fire_Lily tries to ignore the bickering and goes to spend the morning with the more quiet ponies.
[13:53] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith snorts; "I'm not just a guy who hits things. If I feel so inclined, I can fix things as well as I can break them."
07[13:53] * +Primer looks up as Fire_Lily walks up. "Hey... you okay?"
15[13:53] * +Karina blinky blinks then pulls the rifle back out. "Sure."
[13:54] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith looks it over; "It's not in terrible shape. I could fix it up if I had some tools or a repair kit."
15[13:54] * +Karina "Oh..." She pulls the mobile workbench out from hammer space as well and sets it up.
[13:55] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wriath blinks in surprise; "That's... convenient. How's a small mare like you carry that around?" He takes the rifle and sets it on the bench to work on.
[13:56] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The ghoul turns out to be rather impressive, quickly and cleanly restoring the battered rifle to pristine condition
15[13:56] * +Karina "Pockets in my cloak... I figured we'd need it after Cookie died if something broke."
07[13:57] * +Desert_Storm shrugs and stretches out her little slice of heaven. Still yawning, she says to nopony in particular "If I might make a suggestion, we should make a stop at Rottingtail's. I could use some more rounds." She pats the pockets on her vest.
04[13:57] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith actually gives Karina a smirk as he returns the rifle; "Clever girl."
07[13:57] * +Fire_Lily nods. "Yeah... I'm okay." She sits herself next to Primer. "Maybe a little tired."
07[13:58] * +Primer ruffles Fire_Lily's mane and smiles. "Well, you can live through a little tiredness. Have you eaten this morning?"
15[13:58] * +Karina takes the rifle back and returns it to its rightful place. "Kinda... made it look like new." She pauses. "Oh, uh, this other pistol looks pretty bad off, too..." She pulls out the zebra pistol and holds it out.
[13:59] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith takes the pistol over to the workbench and attempts to work his magic again
07[13:59] * +Fire_Lily shakes her head. "No... not yet. I was busy reading. I was just about to eat something."
04[14:00] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wriath manages to get the gun looking in a sufficient condition that it won't explode in the users face. "Not too familiar with zebra designs, so I wouldn't work out all the kinks." He again returns the gun to Karina
07[14:01] * +Keen grumbles slightly and looks at his box of dried apple delight. Hrm. I wonder if I can....
07[14:01] * +Primer holds out her half eaten can of veggies to Fire_Lily and raises an eyebrow. "You want any?"
[14:01] <+Desert_Storm> "Or not, it's fine either way."
15[14:01] * +Karina takes the pistol back and also returns it to her cloak holster. "Thanks, though..." She packs up the workbench as well.
15[14:03] * +Karina looks back at Desert_Storm then pulls out the pipbuck and studies the map.
[14:03] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith shrugs; "If it keeps you alive longer, then it was worth the effort. If not, it'll just be somepony else's prize later." He returns to standing silently by the door
07[14:03] * +Fire_Lily eyes the offered food for a moment. "Uhh... no thanks. I have my own..." She takes her own food out and starts eating.
07[14:03] * +Primer sneaks a peek at the pipbuck. Nice looking device. "We need to figure out how to open that thing so somepony else can put it on."
07[14:04] * +Primer finishes her can of veggies.
15[14:04] * +Karina looks back up at Desert_Storm. "It's... kinda on the way. At least we can get there without wasting a whole day."
07[14:05] * +Keen tries to find a tin can without too much rust in the middle. He looks at his sweetieflank. "Hey. Mind if I use that?" He says, pointing to Primer's can.
07[14:05] * +Desert_Storm nods. "Well, I'd say it's worth it. You never know what's going to be waiting for us."
07[14:05] * +Primer hands the can over to Keen. "Sure, go ahead Sweetie."
07[14:07] * +Keen looks at the inside and wipes it off a bit. He then adds his dried apple cereal, and throws in some water. Irradiated, this was going to be an experiment. His stomach was feeling particularly burny anyway.
07[14:09] * +Fire_Lily looks over curiously at what Keen was doing. She has no idea what's possessing him to do something so strange.
07[14:10] * +Desert_Storm gives Keen a funny look. She'd keep her dry cereal if that was the alternative.
07[14:10] * +Primer frowns. "Keen... what are you doing?"
15[14:10] * +Karina looks over. "Uh... Keen?"
[14:11] <+Keen> He then heats it to a warm texture and lets it set for a little while. He wanted some semi-fresh apples, damnit. "Trying to resuscitate the apples." He quipped, quite distracted. Hey, it wasn't exactly high science, but this should work. Sort of.

07[14:13] * +Desert_Storm shrugs. "You have fun with that." She finishes her cereal and tosses the box out a window.
07[14:15] * +Fire_Lily shakes her head and continues eating her own food. Keen was such a silly pony sometimes.
15[14:16] * +Karina doesn't eat breakfast.
07[14:17] * +Keen looks at the bubbling mixture he made. Okay, this should be good. This should be decent. He took a bite...

07[14:28] * +Keen wipes his mouth of that... Thing he made. Science sucks sometimes. "So. Uh. Let's not talk about this again." He said, fighting his stomach to keep that stuff down. On the bright side, either he didn't care about his intestines, or they cooled down. "Bright side. I think I finally figured out what the mutation is. And it's actually... Rather benign."
07[14:28] * +Primer packs up and hangs her saddlebags back on and drapes her cloak over herself. Cloaks were the best... stylish -and- a blanket.
07[14:29] * +Desert_Storm trots over hesitantly. Before reaching down to look at it, she takes a quick look around. Seeing nothing important, she bends down and flips up the mattress.
07[14:30] * +Wraith- looks over at the group but maintains his silence. Keen's suggestion was probably the best thing he's heard him say thus far.
07[14:30] * +Fire_Lily stands again and stretches each leg in turn. "So... where are we going now?"
[14:32] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Underneath the Matress is what looks like a lockbox, except that some silly raider left the key in the lock.
07[14:32] * +Desert_Storm takes one last look around. Too easy... She turns the key.
07[14:33] * +Desert_Storm ... with whatever body part a pony would normally do that with.
07[14:34] * +Primer stretches for a final time before saying. "Well, we were on our way to Cloudsdale... right?" She couldn't remember why though.
[14:35] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The box springs open as Storm turns the key with her -mouth- (it tastes terrible by the way), revealing a stash of bottle caps, along with a small orange gemstone. There's a note underneath it that read; 'Dunno if the shiny rock is worth anything, so I'll keep it as a trophy.'
07[14:36] * +Desert_Storm spits the key out on the ground and pockets the caps and the stone in the "Desert needs ammo" fund. She picks up the note with her mouth and tucks it away. Better to think about it later.
07[14:40] * +Keen looks at the workbench. Should he go for two? He grumbled a bit and squinted his eyes. He was going to do something productive this morning. Something a little crazy. "Does anypony have a Sparkle battery on hoof?" He mentions.
07[14:40] * +Fire_Lily looks between Primer and Keen. "So... we are or we aren't?"

It didn't just have that malevolent hum his previous experiment (we didn't mention the applesauce), it seemed to make the gun scream why the hell he was doing this to it with a high-pitched wail. He smiled...

07[15:09] * +Keen looks at Rottingtail and waves. "45-70?" Keen was rather cluesless when it came to guns. The first time he tried to shoot one, the recoil made the barrel go up and hit him between the eyes. He shook his head. "Whatever. Did a new ghoul arrive in town recently?"
07[15:10] * +Fire_Lily makes sure nopony is looking, waiting for everyone to be distracted before showing Storm the gun she'd picked up from the safe a while back. "...I need you to buy bullets for this."
07[15:10] * +Desert_Storm nods to Lily silently.
07[15:10] * +Fire_Lily whispers again. "I can pay for it... I just need you to buy it."
[15:10] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Rottingtail gives Storm a smirk; "Are you now? Well, you're in luck." He trots over to the area where ammo boxes and crates were being brought in, picks up one and brings it back over. "These might be up your alley." He pops open the lid, reveal 20 .308 Incendiary Rounds.
07[15:11] * +Wraith- just looks amongst the ghoulish ponies. Looking a lot more at ease amongst them. Not that he hadn't seen bad non-feral ghouls in his life.
07[15:11] * +Desert_Storm goes wide-eyed. "This... this I can work with."
[15:13] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Rottingtail chuckles; "Thought you might. 4 caps each."
07[15:13] * +Desert_Storm buys the whole box, and a few armor piercers too.

[15:14] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Rottingtail catches a glimpse of the Filly's gun. He could tell she was being secretive, so he addresses Storm; "I just so happen to have a short range sidearm scope for a 9mm if you're interested. Nopony here uses them."

[15:15] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Rottingtail nods and procures the ammo and scope for 'Storm'.
[15:17] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The buck at the counter produces some 10mm extended magazines
07[15:17] * +Primer nods in appreciation and buys a few. "Thanks buddy, this will do the trick."
07[15:17] * +Desert_Storm pockets her ammo and trots outside.
15[15:19] * +Karina squees when she gets her suppressor for her new assault rifle and immediately goes about attaching it.

07[15:20] * +Wraith- looks over Rottingtail and his squad for a moment before saying, "I'm with them, unless they've grown tired of my sunny disposition."

07[15:21] * +Desert_Storm sits down and pulls out the magazines and scope. "Here, 130 rounds and a short range sight," she says whiping the optic clean with a rag, "This should make things a lot easier to hit."
07[15:21] * +Primer empties her normal magazines and fills the extended ones and places them within easy reach, after that she walks out, her buisness finished. Primer walks up to Stormy and Fire_Lily. "You all got what you came for?" She was a little uncertain on Lily's behalf, didn't seem to be much she could be interested in in there.
[15:22] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Rottingtail chuckles; "I can tell you're just a ray of colourful disposition. You need anything?"
07[15:22] * +Keen leans closer to Rottingtail. Still not used to the smell. Keen just tended to think of them as severe burn victims that walk around. And sometimes try to kill him.
[15:24] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Rottingtail glances at Keen; "Anything you're looking for? Wait, you use them fancy magical guns. hard to come by those are, and so is the ammo."
07[15:24] * +Desert_Storm nods, not looking up from her task.
07[15:24] * +Fire_Lily tries to make sure Primer does not see what she'd had Storm buy, and stashes them away.
07[15:25] * +Keen folds his hooves. "To be honest, I wouldn't have the caps to buy anything I wanted anyway. I just came by to ask if a ghoul with a bandaged head wound came by recently."
07[15:25] * +Wraith- responds to Rottingtail, "I know this sounds strange, but any Throwing Spears or Axes would be good."
07[15:25] * +Primer doesn't notice on accound of the obtrusive sunlight. "You know..." Naaah, Lily wouldn't want to buy a gun anyway... "Nevermind."
[15:26] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Rottingtail blinks; "No, not presently. Why, should we be on the lookout?"
07[15:26] * +Desert_Storm stows her things and gets up. She pats her pouches, now loaded with fun fire bullets. "I'd say this was worth the trip."
[15:28] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Rottingtail raises an eyebrow; "That -does- sound strange. We tend to stick with guns and bullets." Just a sec. He trots over to the pile and rummages around.
07[15:28] * +Wraith- replies, "Yeah. I wouldn't mind having any if you find em... Oh... try to keep a lookout for a Magical Energy Lance or some nice barding."
[15:31] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Rottingtail comes back with an axe in his teeth. It wasn't a throwing axe, it was bigger, and had a spike on the back of the head. "This do? Found it in what I think was an old Fire Station."

07[15:32] * +Keen gets rather worried in a hurry. "He would come from Gutterville ways. We found him around between there and Hovelhoof." He did not want to have successfully done brain surgery on a pony and then have them die on the way here.

Keen, for some strange reason, wants to take the group to Cloudsdale, or at the very least, where the greatest city in the sky used to be. As they reach the edge of Manehattan, perhaps he should tell them how far away that is.

07[16:02] * +Keen taps his hoof to his chin. "Um. Well, we had trains and stuff, but on hoof or on wing..." He does some calculations in his head. "About a week's trot at a steady pace. Why?"

15[16:05] * +Karina "This is insane..." She puts gets a heading and puts the pipbuck away. "You're insane." She stands back up and starts walking.

The first two days are entirely uneventful, the barren wastes surrounding Manehattan being largely uninhabited in favour of the big city and it's potential treasures.
04[16:22] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 On the third day, Karina's Pipbuck alerts her with a message stating that they have found the edge of 'Splendid Valley'. From where the group is standing, they can see the glow of radiation. It's either small but close, or far away and VERY big.

04[17:18] * +Wraith- trots over to Karina. Thinking over the zebra mare's words since they've traveled, he normally didn't ask others their business... but he was their companion... he thinks. And he really didn't buy the answer. No one was that selfless these days. No one just gave up something so precious. Actual Clean water? Perpetually? He speaks to her quietly, "Hey. I want to ask you something."

"My parents died in front of me, when I was ten years old, beause we had almost no clean water or food. It was a very ugly, slow, and painful death. For both of them. That death isn't something anybody should see. And if there's any way I possibly can, I'm going to make sure that as many as possible don't ever have to experience it... either the death or just being forced to sit there and watch them die, like me."

So used to the radiation.. and needing it at a lot of times, he tended to forget exactly that it was very much a horrendously harsh ever-present threat in the wasteland. He says back in a respectful tone, "I'm sorry to hear." he looks down and continues to think on the words.

07[18:28] * +Wraith- decides to focus on the manner at hoof for the moment. He wanted some tactical analysis on this area. Trotting over to Harry he asks, "So, what is around this area? What's dangerous, like would even make you worry about?"
07[18:29] * +Primer turns in her sleep and clutches Fire_Lily tight, muttering a little. "...mrmm... don't...go..."
07[18:30] * +Fire_Lily jumps a little in surprise. She turns to look at Primer, and gives her a comforting hug.

He walks away from Lily and comes back with his copy of Sapphire Stone, which he sets in front of her. "I'd like to thank you all; you're the first company I've had in a while, and entertaining visitors is nice. I;ve read it a hundred times anyways."

I really didn't believe you at first... but now, I can see why." He looks downcast and says thoughtfully, "It... makes me think about myself and what I've done since I became a ghoul."
15[18:52] * +Karina bites her lip and sits down. "Good thoughts or bad ones?"
07[18:54] * +Wraith- looks away from the mare towards the cave and says, "More like... a wasted life." he speaks grimly with a heavy tone of regret, "You've taken something bad in your life and used it to do something really good. Me on the other hoof... I did the opposite."
15[18:55] * +Karina "Took something good and did something bad, or just sat around and wallowed in what you had? If it's the second one, I spent about eight years doing that too, so I already know it's sad."
07[18:58] * +Wraith- responds, "When the world ended. I... tried to find my previous life. When I found I couldn't go back to it, I... I didn't know what to do. Everything I fought so hard and believed so much in went up in flames... literally. Then... I saw the world take a turn for the worst... and these fucking... slavers... raiders... they started popping up. Even, 'decent' ponies didn't want anything to do with me for being a ghoul."

04[19:05] * +Wraith- looks away and speaks, slightly soft for once, "You can't run away from the past Karina. Just... got to look forward to the future. But I don't have anything to look forward to. At least... maybe now I do." he looks back to the zebra.

"You should try getting some sleep too. I know you're a ghoul... but no sleep can't possibly be healthy..." She turns around to head back into the cave.

07[19:33] * +Desert_Storm hefts the rifle from it's cas. Oh, it had been a very long time since she'd held one of these. The ammo boxes intrigued her too. She pushed open the door again. "Lily? Lily, I need a hoof in here." There's a big goofy smile on her face.
07[19:33] * +Keen looks around the place. He had no idea what this town was. Was it around in his time? Did he just pass by it? Where were they?
07[19:33] * +Fire_Lily finishes stretching and makes her way over to Storm. "Yeah...?"

07[19:36] * +Keen checks out the Stable-Tec outlet and suddenly has a pang of memory of Cookie. Back when he at least seemed optimistic. And alive.

07[19:36] * +Fire_Lily yawns a bit then nods, pulling out her lockpicking supplies to get to work.
07[19:37] * +Wraith- searches for a bit and is relieved that this building was secure. He stops sneaking and looks throughout the cash registers, looking for offices for safes and such.
15[19:38] * +Karina goes around and stuffs everything else in the grocery store she could take into pockets in her cloak while drinking a second cola.
15[19:41] * +Karina "Best store ever..." She takes another drink then puts the cola in her mouth and heads over to the police station.
07[19:42] * +Wraith- smiles under his wrappings.. Beautiful caps and pre-war bits. Might as well check the garbage bin too... maybe some cigarette packs or cartons as well... or some more lose caps.

07[19:44] * +Desert_Storm pulls the armor off the top shelf and puts it on the floor. While Lily works, she sizes her up. This one looks like it might fit.
[19:44] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Fire_Lily once again shows herself to be a supreme Locksmith, opening all three boxes with only one broken pin. Two of them contain 10mm ammo, but the third is ammo obviously meant for the SNiper Rifle
07[19:44] * +Keen checks out the storage room door after checking the shelves for anything interesting. Maybe a little arcane bauble that reminds him of home, or maybe a game to play on the Pip-Buck.

Pulling out a cigarette from one of his packs, he removes his mouth wrappings, revealing his ghoulish and partially missing lips, then lights the cigarette and begins to puff on it. Ohhh satisfying... even if he couldn't feel it in it's entirety. He then leaves

07[19:56] * +Fire_Lily looks her new armor over. It fits... alright. She isn't sure she likes the look, though. She wraps her cloak closer around. At least this will cover it up a bit.

07[19:58] * +Keen checks behind the counter, checks under the rug. Not that he was opposed to opening things the Lily way, but he imagined that they were sort of busy.
07[19:58] * +Desert_Storm nods. "Yes. The other one's for bigger, armored targets. It's got a little more kick. This one," she motions to the new one, "Is lighter and easier to use on the move."

He walked out with a new rifle, and a scope on the old one. He felt like the avenging ghost of the old world. He looked like a tired pony wearing a bathrobe.
