Dragon Warrior Randomizer Tournament thoughts

I'm starting to think that we are getting very close to starting signups for the very first Dragon Warrior Randomizer tournament.  I think most of us do not expect to get the fifty-four signups that happened in the Zelda Randomizer tournament, but I do think we will get a solid number so that all of us will have a fun time!  :)  Let me share with you some thoughts on this.  I really want to hear your opinion on this before we get this formed!

1)  Seeding
I can think of three schools of thought.  One is to just take the SRL rankings and seed them.  Another is to have random seeding.  The last is to have the SRL rankings but possibly propose changing seeds a little bit based on scenarios.  I'm thinking the last is similar to the Zelda Randomizer tournament, but it can be very subjective.  I'd rather just take the SRL rankings and be done with it.  Random seeding is very risky; it's very possible that there could be high-level matchups in the first round, and I would rather have that toward the end of the tournament.

2)  Tournament format
I currently see two ideas here.  First is a straight double elimination tournament, where the loser winner must win two in the grand final.  The other is a group stage(4 players per group, single round robin), followed by a double elimination tournament for the top 2 of each group.  In my opinion, the former is best with SRL seeding above, while the latter would work much better with random seeding.  Also, I'd like to have the winners bracket complete one round / week, with the losers bracket completing two rounds / week...

3)  Game format
I think we all agree to do ultra randomization, yes?  I think the format only needs to be debated on leveling speed.  There are several ways to do this, IMO, but I think we should just play on fast(75%) speed throughout the tournament, mainly because most races play on fast speed these days.
