  4. [2014-10-15 20:29:30]<EchoesOfDeath> The sky chariot flies away taking half of the group to their unusual destination. Meanwhile, all that is left to the rest of the group is to wait... except for Backlash, who had somepony's wish to fulfill.
  5. [2014-10-15 20:33:18]* Backlasf is passing time until she leaves, about an hour after the chariot took off. She's content to watch the others go about their business for a while, but she soon realizes the time to go is upon her. she double-checks her bags for supplies: a few snacks, th
  6. [2014-10-15 20:33:24]<Backlasf> ...the note, and a crude, barely legible map she'd made for herself. it wouldn't be useful for anypony else, but it'd help her stay on track.

  8. [2014-10-15 20:36:02]* Swift_Hurddle waves his hoof in her direction, "Take care miss Backlash"
  9. [2014-10-15 20:36:32]* Cambiance waves. "Stay safe. Make sure to come back."
  10. [2014-10-15 20:39:39]* Backlasf nods and smiles, taking the knife in her mouth. 'If I ain't back by the time the chariot is, then... I dunno, go on without me.'
  11. [2014-10-15 20:41:49]* Cambiance frowns. "We'll wait. Or send someone out. We'll make sure you're safe."
  12. [2014-10-15 20:43:54]* Swift_Hurddle nods, "Ya, I mean what are we going to do leave you behind? Worse case I twiddle my hooves till you show up so we can walk back together"
  13. [2014-10-15 20:50:41]* Backlasf grins and shuffles her hooves. 'Heh, thanks, but...' She pauses. 'I wouldn't worry about it. just listen to the guardsponies, they got your best interests at heart.' With that, she checks her map one more time and takes off. She'll be flying from building to building, minimizing her exposure against the clear sky.

  15. [2014-10-15 20:53:06]* Cambiance frowns. "Not too much. What seemed odd?"
  16. [2014-10-15 20:54:14]* Swift_Hurddle shrugs, "I dont know, maybe im imagining it. Nevermind"
  17. [2014-10-15 20:55:22]<Cambiance> "No, it's good to point out that kinda stuff. We should be mindful about everypony. We're all under... a lot of stress, to put it mildly."

  21. [2014-10-15 21:03:47]<EchoesOfDeath> After a hour sneaking along the vanishing shadows of the morning, Backlash arrives to Rosebee's neighborhood. The abandonment is showing, several more of the distant houses having also been burnt to the ground. The fence around her house is dented in several spots, but still stands. The broken window, though, isn't barricaded anymore.

  28. [2014-10-15 21:21:52]<EchoesOfDeath> The trip had been calm so far, even though Rosebee pressed herself to her seat, keeping her eyes closed behind Star_Spotter. The sights of the city were not the same these days, crashes and burned buildings littering the landscape.
  29. [2014-10-15 21:22:45]* Star_Spotter sighs a bit, looking out and across the city, more worried about the passengers than the sights
  30. [2014-10-15 21:26:29]<EchoesOfDeath> "Time to hurry up, ladies!" Aegis shouts from her position. "They are coming from behind us!"

  32. [2014-10-15 21:31:27]<EchoesOfDeath> Star_Spotter sees two fliers far behind the chariot, but approaching slowly, with another one rising to join the flock. Aegis moves to the back of the chariot to line up a shot
  33. [2014-10-15 21:32:26]* Star_Spotter tries to keep steady
  34. [2014-10-15 21:40:28]<EchoesOfDeath> The chariot stabilizes and Aegis takes the opportunity to take a shot, dropping one of the infected from the sky.
  35. [2014-10-15 21:41:21]* Star_Spotter smirks as she flies as stable as she can
  36. [2014-10-15 21:45:00]<EchoesOfDeath> Aegis fires again, clearing your rear. "The noise might bring more of them. Can you go faster?"
  37. [2014-10-15 21:45:13]* Star_Spotter gives a nod. "Roger!"
  38. [2014-10-15 21:46:54]<EchoesOfDeath> Star_Spotter pushes into higher speeds along with Monochrome, and they pierce the skies towards their destiny.

  41. [2014-10-15 21:52:58]<Backlash> "What the heck happened here?" Backlash muses as she descends to the other side of the street from Rosebee's home. She looks the house over and is somewhat surprised by how intact it seems to be.
  42. [2014-10-15 21:59:10]<EchoesOfDeath> Most of the damages seem to be on the fence itself and on the roof tiles, but the house just looks untouched and abandoned since left
  43. [2014-10-15 22:02:24]* Backlash approaches the house and knocks on the door. She frowns and chuckles quietly to herself before going to the broken window. She pauses, looking it over and waiting for the echoing knock to pass before entering the house.

  46. [2014-10-15 22:05:17]<EchoesOfDeath> Backlash hears a moan from inside. The inside of the house looks more messed than how it was left
  47. [2014-10-15 22:10:44]* Backlash blinks. What a nightmare... She goes back to the front door and gingerly pushes it open. No time to be worried about being rude.
  48. [2014-10-15 22:12:22]<EchoesOfDeath> Entering the house, Backlash sees a shadow of somepony in the hallway.
  49. [2014-10-15 22:17:38]* Backlash decides to avoid the ominous shape for now. She takes a left into the living room. If she weren't terrified, she might have giggled at the irony.
  50. [2014-10-15 22:20:02]<EchoesOfDeath> The living room is empty of ponies, but the armchair is turned over
  51. [2014-10-15 22:21:51]* Backlash slips through to the kitchen as quickly as possible. She realizes she went into the wrong room on accident and backtracks to the dining room instead.
  52. [2014-10-15 22:24:17]<EchoesOfDeath> The dining room doesn't look much different from before. The table and the chairs are all still there.
  53. [2014-10-15 22:27:27]* Backlash digs through her bag for the note. Halfway through searching, she realizes what she's doing and stops. She leaves the dining room and goes back to the hallway, checking before she crosses the hallway to make sure the shadow hasn't moved.
  54. [2014-10-15 22:29:33]<EchoesOfDeath> The shadow isn't there anymore
  55. [2014-10-15 22:37:21]* Backlash swings her knife around to a battle position; her mouth trembles slightly against the handle. She steps into the study.
  56. [2014-10-15 22:40:24]<EchoesOfDeath> She finds the lifeless eyes of a male unicorn infected looking straight at her.
  57. [2014-10-15 22:43:50]<EchoesOfDeath> He groans, and Backlash feels a force trying to pull her towards him.
  58. [2014-10-15 22:45:52]* Backlash 's first instinct is to backpedal away, but feeling the magical pull, she leaps straight at the infected, knife first.
  59. [2014-10-15 22:49:04]<EchoesOfDeath> The momentum drives Backlash's knife deep into his skull, and he falls.
  60. [2014-10-15 22:51:41]* Backlash shivers as the weapon connects and she recoils, taking her mouth off the grip. Feeling a little ill, she retrieves it using a wing and carries it daintily by her side as she tries to make sure the room is clear.
  61. [2014-10-15 22:51:54]* Backlash actively avoids looking at the body.

  63. [2014-10-15 22:56:05]<EchoesOfDeath> The room is silent, she sees nopony else. There are only shelves full of books, a desk and some drawers

  66. [2014-10-15 22:59:47]* Backlash moves on to the storeroom after her glance over the study. She's glad to be out of that room anyway.
  67. [2014-10-15 23:01:52]<EchoesOfDeath> This room is more empty after all the tools and supplies the group took with them. There are pots and bags of dirt in a corner, but nothing else
  68. [2014-10-15 23:06:35]* Backlash goes upstairs slowly, eyes darting back and forth looking for more infected.
  69. [2014-10-15 23:10:10]<EchoesOfDeath> As Backlash makes her way up stairs creak.
  70. [2014-10-15 23:10:30]<EchoesOfDeath> But nopony seems to be in the upper hallway
  71. [2014-10-15 23:13:21]* Backlash pokes her head into the bathrooms first, one after the other. She's struck by the simple beauty of having running water and a nice bathroom.
  72. [2014-10-15 23:15:14]<EchoesOfDeath> Fortunately water is still running here, but who knows for how long. The bathrooms are slightly dusty from the abandonment, but otherwise untouched
  73. [2014-10-15 23:17:54]* Backlash shuts the doors to the bathrooms, out of a sense of preservation, and opens the door to Mrs. Comb's bedroom.
  74. [2014-10-15 23:22:33]<EchoesOfDeath> The large windows are cracked, but the beautiful bedroom is the same as before. In the nightstand there is a lamp, a photo of Rosebee with an older earth pony mare on a park, and two pamphlets.
  75. [2014-10-15 23:25:24]* Backlash takes the photo and stashes it in her bag, then reads the pamphlets.
  76. [2014-10-15 23:30:57]<EchoesOfDeath> One of them is about a florist event at Sunrise Plaza in Canterlot. The other one is for Mountain View Hotel, a lower budget place to stay in Canterlot.
  77. [2014-10-15 23:36:28]* Backlash stashes the pamphlets as well. She'd probably forget the details if she didn't. Her mind is made up: she's not going to leave the note. Somepony else could find it and track them down if she did, and Rosebee's mother was - at the very least - unlikely to come back home anytime soon anyway. Instead, she went back to the study for some paper and a writing utensil.

  79. [2014-10-15 23:44:28]* Backlash collects it and swiftly returns to the bedroom. She replaces the photo's position with a note of her own. It reads, "Rosebee is safe, she's with friends. She wrote you a note, but I don't want to leave it out in the open where anypony could find it. We don't know what's going on yet. We're going someplace safe across town. If you find this - and I really hope you don't, and you have enough sense to stay out of the city - please
  80. [2014-10-15 23:44:29]* Backlash , just worry about yourself. Rosebee would be devastated if something happened to you."
  81. [2014-10-15 23:49:51]* Backlash leaves the note, sighs, and moves onto the last room: Rosebee's.
  82. [2014-10-15 23:55:03]<EchoesOfDeath> Rosebee's room is tidy, if a bit dusty. She seem to have put it in order before leaving. There is no sign of anypony here either
  83. [2014-10-15 23:56:44]* Backlash looks around for something Rosebee might want to have. Since she's here, she may as well bring something nice back...
  84. [2014-10-16 00:04:38]<EchoesOfDeath> There is a small collection of animal plushies on a shelf.
  85. [2014-10-16 00:07:35]* Backlash smiles, seeing the plushies, and begins stuffing as many as she can in her bags.
  86. [2014-10-16 00:10:06]<EchoesOfDeath> Backlash can take a bunny, a badger and a smiling sunflower with her.
  87. [2014-10-16 00:12:48]<Backlash> Animals safely in tow, she furrows her brow. With a sense of expectation, she crouches down and looks under the bed. All the fillies back in school used to keep their diaries in dumb, obvious places. Maybe ground ponies do the same?
  88. [2014-10-16 00:15:53]<EchoesOfDeath> She sees a couple hoof shoe boxes under the bed.
  89. [2014-10-16 00:16:50]* Backlash grins. Some things never change. She pulls one out and pops the lid.
  90. [2014-10-16 00:22:24]<EchoesOfDeath> She find shoes! But for some reason this box seems smaller inside
  91. [2014-10-16 00:24:42]* Backlash is puzzled. Who keeps hoofshoes in the box under their bed? But... wait, of course. It's got a fake bottom. She takes the shoes out and starts trying to prise up the bottom of the box from the inside.
  92. [2014-10-16 00:25:05]<Backlash> Hopefully Rosebee won't be upset. The way I see it, better me than some guard.
  93. [2014-10-16 00:28:46]<EchoesOfDeath> The fake bottom comes out and a flowery diary is inside
  94. [2014-10-16 00:32:17]* Backlash smiles softly and takes her prize. She knows better than to read it. The book gets tucked under her other wing and she lays her luggage out on Rosebee's bed to try and reorganize it more efficiently. The knife, however, stays held firmly by the grip.
  95. [2014-10-16 00:44:14]<EchoesOfDeath> Her luggage is finally nicely packed with everything she found so far.
  96. [2014-10-16 00:45:08]<Backlash> As she's rearranging her loot, trying to make it all fit in what bags she has, she's bothered by a burning curiosity. There's another box down there... She keeps rearranging her stuff for a few seconds until, finally, she ducks under the bed again for the second box. Taking it in both hooves, she upends it over a clear spot of the bed.
  97. [2014-10-16 00:47:56]<EchoesOfDeath> The box drops another pair of shoes, a cardboard rectangle and a small pouch.
  98. [2014-10-16 00:49:28]* Backlash 's eyes go wide. What? Suddenly she doesn't feel bad at all for peeking; the joy of exploration is overwhelming! She opens the pouch.
  99. [2014-10-16 00:51:31]<EchoesOfDeath> There is a little pink vibrator inside.
  100. [2014-10-16 00:56:25]<Backlash> Elation turns to shock, and then to an evil smile. Oh, wow. She's gonna want that. She closes the pouch up tight and stuffs it in the space between two of the plushies. How'd that filly even get ahold of that thing? What the heck... She feels a little jealous, underneath the bubbly feeling of having found out an embarrassing secret. Bags packed, she saddles up and heads back downstairs to the kitchen, where she attempts to clean off the

  105. [2014-10-16 01:11:55]<EchoesOfDeath> If the window is opened, she could escape unseen through it.
  106. [2014-10-16 01:13:13]* Backlash goes to the window, opens it up and crawls out.
  107. [2014-10-16 01:15:08]<EchoesOfDeath> The sky is within reach, now all Backlash needs is to make her way back safely
  108. [2014-10-16 01:17:21]* Backlash makes a beeline straight away from the house to distance herself from the rattling, then heads off toward the west. She doesn't dare take to the sky unless she can hide.
