  1. Pauper is a story-based RuneScape private server. The hero starts in the middle of the story, logging into chapter 3 of the verse initially. This calls for a large amount of questing availability within the server. Pauper is not shooting for unique content, rather than unique gameplay experience accompanied by a large amount of content. The server will have hours upon hours of content availability, even after maxing your character. The sense of consistent achievement is what we're aiming for. As the story continues further into the chapters, more in-game storylines (i.e. quests) will be introduced accordingly. Each chapter will have a minimum of 7 quests to complete, some will have more. Though, new chapters will not be released swiftly. Pauper's title system will also collide with the gameplay experience. This means, as you progress through the server, doing daily activities, you will unlock titles. However, some titles will need to be purchased with specific items, gold, or Pauper Points (which are earned by killing monsters in the wilderness). Pauper is a server that is most definitely a better experience with a larger player base, nonetheless it is still quite fun and challenging on its own. Most armors passed adamant (same requirements equal to range and magic) will not be available for purchase via Grand Exchange, and the monsters that drop these armors will be located in the wild. This will make it all the more challenging, while also gathering a player vs player community. The deeper the wilderness levels, and the higher the monsters level is, the more rewarding loot you will get. However, armor and weaponry earned from minigames (i.e. barrows and god wars), can still be earned from just that. Items will be lost upon death, so make sure you have food at-ready. I, the sole owner and developer of Pauper, will also be playing the server as a regular player. This means, while I do have mastering levels and item spawn commands, I will not use them unless necessary (necessary as for item spawning, in case I need to spawn someone an item under odd circumstances). You will also be able to kill me in the wilderness for whatever items I'm risking. I, too, lose items on death. In Pauper, the lands are currently at a chaotic state - money is everything. So, due to this, taxes are heavy-handed. Taxing in Pauper will be in numerous elements of the game; such as teleporting (without magic), plank crafting, bones on altar, and so on. This ensures an extremely consistent money-sink, reacting a very stable economy with fair prices. Since Pauper is in a chaotic state, food is scarce. Any food healing more than 9 health points will be restricted purchases from the Grand Exchange. Either gather it yourself, buy it from another player, or be lucky enough to kill another player who has a full inventory of sharks. Due to the Grand Exchange's limitations, skillers will also play a huge role in the server. Their abilities to create items of importance will sell for quite the price, as well as paying them for specific services (i.e. crafting your dragonfire shield). Agility will actually increase the rate your run energy recharges. At level 99, you will be gaining 4 energy per second. This can help people escape from their untimely demise, and is also just a nice feature to have since running distances is not uncommon in Pauper (not to mention, most agility shortcuts work in the server, so that also is helpful). To enter Nex's lair, you will need to have killed each God Wars boss at least 5 times. As easy as this may sound, it's actually quite the challenge. Since you need money and specific skills to be level 80 to even enter their rooms, you'll have some grinding to do. Each room will cost 350,000 gold to enter. To enter the room of Armadyl, you will need to have at least 80 range to grapple across the gap. To enter the room of Bandos, you will need at least 80 strength to push open the large door. To enter the room of Saradomin, you will need at least 80 agility to climb down the rope. To enter the room of Zamorak, you will need at least 80 magic to teleport across the gap in the bridge. Slayer plays an important role in the server as well. Not only can it make you money from farming creatures for items such as abyssal whips and dark bows, but there are also items that require slayer levels to equip (i.e. black mask that has boosted stats). Questing in Pauper is a dominant feature, and each one is challenging for the levels it's designed to encounter. However, the quests always have a great bonus for completion. Most quests usually have at least three rewards, sort of like 'benchmarks'. Once completed one of the more dire tasks in a quest, you are usually treated with a subtle reward. However, once you actually complete the quest, you will normally receive a large boost in experience and a great reward (for the levels it's designed for). As an example: the same quest you need to complete in order to unlock curse prayers gives you an Ava's Accumulator and dragon boots in the process as a sub-reward. Pauper is not a greedy server, we don't care too much about swindling your wallets. Because of this, no item is available for purchase via donations. Instead, you can purchase a monthly subscriber status. This status will give you boosted experience rates, as well as a percentage cut from any taxes you have to pay. Since the rewards for this rank are quite dim, the rank itself will be rather cheap (I'm thinking probably $3.50/month). And since we don't care much for your money, you are actually allowed to sell your accounts, items, services, etc. for whatever you see fit. RSGP, RSPS GP, PayPal, Western Union; use whatever you like to sell your belongings. However, we will not cover any scams you may encounter from another player, but if a player is proven to scam others in this fashion, that player will be marked as a scammer to prevent it from happening again. Scammers get marked by simply giving that player an in-game title (whilst removing that player's option to use any other title), and changing their forum rank to that of a scammer. Speaking of experience boosters, though, you do not have to donate in order to receive this. Instead, you can speak with Pauper's General Manager who will let you buy a booster for a set amount of time with gold, which will be added to your 'total taxes paid' indicator. The time amounts you can buy these boosters in last either 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours. The boosters you can get are +2 to your experience modifier, +4 to your experience modifier, +6 to your experience modifier, or +8 to your experience modifier. The prices, of course, scale with the increase of your boost and time. After purchasing your experience booster, you will be able to see your current experience modifier and how much time is left for your experience booster in your quest tab. So, if you buy a +6 experience booster for 2 hours, you will see "Experience Modifier: 28" (this line is always there, but the standard experience modifier is 22), and "XP Booster: 2:00:00 remaining" lines in your quest tab. If anyone conjures any more questions, feel free to ask me :) If you'd like to read the already pre-written chapters of the server, feel free to ask me :) And if you'd like some starting tips, or learn how to make money, feel free to wait until the server is in the beta stage (at least) and I will release two guides. The "Starting Off" guide, and "Simple Money" guide :)
