- I'm hoping this question could be passed onto someone in some type of engineering department.
- I am looking into the very common statement that it is unwise to store condoms in one's wallet. It is such a common statement that everyone seems to accept it, and I just wanted to inquire with some manufacturers as to the data that led to this advice. I'm an engineer myself and have a couple possible ideas:
- - latex degredation at a temperature commonly reached in a typical wallet?
- - friction causing breakdown at pressure points in the form of actual holes or weak spots.
- What tests do condom engineering companies perform to determine recommendations for ideal storage conditions, expiration dates, and recommendations against wallet storage? Is any of the data publicly available?
- Thanks!
