Book/Movie/Show/Music list

Summary:
I read a lot (both in English and Russian), mostly sci-fi/fantasy and the occasional book on Rationality.
If you want book suggestions, hit me up =)

Movies are all over the place, the stuff I really love is not too well-known but I will happily watch any action movie or even the occasional chick flick.

Music is mostly rock/metal/punk. I'll say upfront that I tolerate but don't particularly like pop/rap etc...

Books:
A book that I recommend to all my friends is Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality (http://hpmor.com/), wonderful fan-fic, so far better than the original.
It is by no means my favorite but definitely one of the most enjoyable reads in the past year.

Isaac Asimov (all of it), Jim Butcher, Terry Pratchett
Sergey Lukyanenko (Russian but some of his works were translated and I highly recommend checking them out)
Boris Akunin (another wonderful Russian author)
Conan Doyle

Movies:
I enjoy a variety of movies, from comedy to horror. I refuse to watch stupid movies though, there's a difference between comedy and idiocy. Too many good ones to list so ask and I'll give you a summary.

Btw, if you want an awesome movie, see Joss Whedon's "Much Ado About Nothing" adaptation. I think it's a bit of a limited release but I saw it at TIFF (Toronto Film Festival) and it was awesome. Super-awesome.
"Thanks for Sharing" is also awesome (follows sex addicts in "rehab")

Music:
Mostly rock, punk rock, alternative, some metal, some electronic, surprisingly some classical as well...
My fave is actually The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack (I saw the show in London a while back).

Bands:
RHCP, The Offspring, Rise Against, SOAD, a whole bunch of oldies (Metallica, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Gunz 'n' Roses, Iron Maiden...), Disturbed, Zebrahead, Joe Satriani (epic guitar!), a few Russian bands.

Current: Metallica, Lordi, Dream Theater, Van Canto

Shows
Current: Falling Skies
Waiting for: Game of Thrones (second best show ever, after Firefly of course), Spartacus, White Collar,The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Revolution, Castle, Arrow
Done: Firefly, Dexter (not a huge fan of the last season), Chuck, Supernatural, Merlin

Not an extreme fan of anime but I've seen a few. Claymore, Bleach, Code Geass, Freezing, Full Metal Alchemist, Hellsing OVA, Attack on Titan.
