  1. Sieges
  2.
  3. Sieges are large undertakings that are done by warring factions. There are two types of sieges, Spontaneous and Planned Sieges. Both have the same concept, each side is granted a number of ‘lives’ for each of their members. If they die, but have lives left over, they will be minorly wounded and allowed to jump back into the conflict right away. However, when all lives are used, that character is PK’d. This can be prevented, however. A player may choose to Surrender or Flee. If you choose to flee, your character will run from the battle. If you choose to surrender, the opposing side will capture you, and the outcome is at the discretion of the victorious party. A leader on the field may order his troops in full Retreat. This will allow any players that have not been PK’d a chance to escape simultaneously, and may be the best option of a battle may not be going in one party’s favor.
  4.
  5. Spontaneous Sieges are activated by Generator Takeovers and other admin specified events. In a Spontaneous Siege, each side will be told of the ensuing Siege. This sort of siege requires little or more often no pre-set up.
  6.
  7. In Planned Sieges, a faction will initiate the siege typically days or perhaps even weeks before the actual battle. Planned Sieges are conducted when taking over outposts or entire stations. The aggressors will be required to collect additional resources in order to prepare for the siege. The defenders will not be alerted of the aggressor’s plan until moments before the siege occurs.
  8.
  9. When a Planned Siege occurs, lives will be granted to each side. One side will be given an objective, typically to conquer something, while another will typically have to defend it. Normal siege rules apply, if you run out of lives, you will be PKed, Commanders can choose to retreat their troops, and individual troops can choose to Flee or Surrender. Keep in mind, if you Flee or Surrender and your party wins, you may receive punishments, sometimes worse than dying on the field.
  10.
  11. If you lose your faction’s station, the enemy forces will occupy the station and receive all the benefits from it. However, this does not mean the end of your faction. This is the beginning of a new opportunity, a chance at a Coup.
  12.
  13. Coups are only allowed when a Station is occupied by an enemy force. If soldiers retreated during a Siege that caused the Station to fall, those player’s characters will survive, and be allowed to take action back. If your character was PK’d, you will be allowed to rejoin your fellow faction members efforts, but as a new character with a new story.
  14.
  15. During Coups, the now guerrilla force will have to run covert operations to pick away at the occupying force to prepare to retake their lost station. Coups can be long, drawn out efforts or quick, decisive, and aggressive actions.
  16.
  17. During a Coup, a guerrilla leader will be assigned. They will be assigned missions that will allow them begin the process of recapturing their station. They will always be granted two missions, and be allowed to attempt one. One mission will be quieter, safer, and typically will lead to a longer route to recapture their station, while another may be dangerous, louder, but will act as a shortcut to a violent uprising against the occupying forces.
  18.
  19. Whichever route the leader chooses will determine the final outcome. There will either be a violent uprising that will require men to fight to take the station they once lost, or a slow and steady game that in the end will force the occupying forces out of the station, and allow the territory to be re-claimed.
  20.
  21. If an occupying force loses a station by violent force, they may be subject to PKs in the sudden battle. If they lose a station by drawn out attrition, their men will be forced to retreat and will suffer no PKs but instead will lose great amounts of supplies and other valuable resources due to guerrilla force picking away at valuable resources.
  22.
  23. At the end of the day, if the guerrilla force is successful, they will reclaim their station, their supplies, their status, and begin at square one once again.
