- Hi guys, I'm writing to apply for mod. I applied back in May, I believe, but lucid did not respond to my email, and I decided afterward that I wasn't sure I wanted to commit myself to it. Recently, however, I've felt a resurgence of interest in the position. This stems primarily, I think, from the fact that I take as much interest in thinking about ways to improve Epicmafia as a place where I and others can play the game (e.g., http://www.epicmafia.com/topic/20793) as I take in actually playing the game. I really care about the site as it's the only one of its kind, and, while I'd be lying through my teeth if I said the constant forum drama didn't hold its fair share of entertainment, I hate the feeling I constantly get that the community is on the brink of going down in flames.
- I'd love to help out dealing with rule violations, moderating the forum (gently—I'm not a fan of the overly strict moderation that, if I remember correctly, Riotkiller14 carried out early on), and brainstorming ways to improve the site. I believe I have more than enough experience, both here and offsite, to be able to consistently—and without bias—distinguish between rule violations and fair (if misguided) play, and I firmly believe that the frustrated anger that I sometimes feel as a result of bad in-game experiences would not translate into a bad attitude as a moderator, i.e., as an outsider looking in.
- I'm not going to spend paragraph after paragraph wasting my time and yours in an effort to sell myself as a good candidate. I think you all know me well enough to take everything into account.
- Thank you for your consideration.

- LetzShake:
- Sorry for the double PMs, but Lucid said you guys are making the decisions, so I'm PMing you my application.
- Anyway, I know I'm probably an anonymous relatively old player to all of you, but hear me out. Honestly, as pretentious as it might sound, I consider myself one of the best moderator candidates out there. I'm not a forum circlejerker, I have a good understanding of Mafia, I've been here for a while, I'm a decent player, I'm mature, and I'll all of that other stuff you want to hear too.
- The main reason I want to be a moderator is to rejuvenate my dying interest in Epicmafia. I'm playing a lot less than I used to, and I'm finding myself enjoying the game less. It's not really the site's fault for me not enjoying the game, I guess I'm just burnt out. Being a moderator would really be a breath of fresh air.
- Honestly, I know I'm really the underdog in terms of being a moderator candidate, but I'd do a good job. I care about the game and have a good understanding of it, and that's what I think would be the defining characteristics of a good moderator.

- DrJackShephard: Application for Moderator
- About myself: I'm fairly well known around the community, I won a silver medal in Feb. '11, a Gold Trophy in April '11 and most recently a Bronze Trophy in Jul '11. I've maintained an above 56% winrate since I've began to play and while this doesn't translate to or improve my ability to moderate, it does show that I'm a player who's proven to know the deeper intricacies of the game and what it's like to play at a higher level.
- Why I feel I'd be a agood moderator: I've had my run-ins with the moderation staff since my account's creation, so I understand what it's like to be persecuted. I can genuinely say that if I'm a moderator, I would consistently view reports/decisions through an un-biased lens, since I was at the other end of the stick at one point. I log in on a daily basis and I'm usually involved in forum activity, so the general procedures aren't foreign to me. I feel as though I'd be a helpful addition to the team since I have both the time and the knowledge to invest into moderating the site.
- Thank you for reading and I hope you take my application into serious consideration.

- Hello Mafia Epic moderator.
- i like to be mafia moderator. this is my first account, i have no experience. However, i went through the time of reading the whole of wiki page and mod guidelines. Therefore, i think i wud make a brilliant moderator.
- thank you. i just want peace no trolling
- -
- I am applying to be a mod. I have had quite a few people telling me that I should apply to be a mod. I am able to not talk in 3rd person when I want to, so that shouldn't be a problem.
- I have never cheated and play seriously. I am not afraid from forum suspending players if I see them harassing any mod/player like what happened today with iShine. I have made a variety of threads trying to help the site.
- I am pretty much well liked among everyone that knows me, with the exception of the people who just don't like it when I talk in third person. I have helped update the wiki and rate setups int he setup making thread (altho i haven't since my last vacation last week).
- Thanks for reading.

- LotusDragon:
- Hi this is LotusDragon, I figured that I would apply to be a mod in light of the current circumstances. I'm not sure if you're who I'm supposed to message about that or whatever, but yeah. If made a mod I would be unbiased and fair and good. I don't really play any serious games and I would have no self-serving agenda if made mod, which I assume is a good quality in mods.
- Either way thank you for the consideration and if you choose to reject the application that's fine too.

- My name on EpicMafia is TheWorst and JustBluffing. Where to begin, hm?
- Well, my experience on EpicMafia has been a positive one, honestly. I went from playing mafia games for the fun of it, to actually getting involved in the community; making setups, roles, and ideas to help EpicMafia get better. When I started playing on EpicMafia, I didn't take it seriously at all and played in unranked games. I started playing mafia in general on TheWorst account here in EM, and eventually learned how to properly play efficiently and successfully. (my alt can prove this after making an alt purely for playing on Comp Lobby; http://www.epicmafia.com/user/122014)
- Of course, none of this proves I have what it takes to be a Mod, but it does tell that I did learn from this website and I did care enough to try and go for a trophy. Of course, none of them were successful, but you always have to try, right?
- Anyway, that was my experience with this mafia website. I remain quite active, both in game and in forum. You could say that EpicMafia is my most visited website, and that's true actually. I remain dedicated to this site for who knows how long. If I were to be mod, I'd stay devoted to my job and try not to make much noise. I'm not one to create much drama either way, and making rash decisions is not my thing. I'll at least put some thought in to whether or not someone should be punished. I have no bias; I have no one from EpicMafia on MSN, only on Steam, which I don't use much anymore except for addressing mods for a report. I'm not afraid to suspend someone if I think they have done something wrong; justice has to be served, right?
- One of the most frightening things for a mod is the criticism. Criticism comes naturally for me; I've dealt with criticism whenever I messed up in a game, or if I do a stupid decision. I'm not prone to quitting just because someone said "You did a terrible job." Critics are everywhere, you just have to deal with it and move on. You can't get angry just because someone criticizes your work that you've spent a lot of time on. You take the advice (if any) that the critic gave, and move on. I'm talking about this mostly because the mods have fallen lately because of criticism, so I just thought to focus on that aspect in case it's a problem. The EpicMafia crowd is a tough one, and it needs to be tamed somewhat as well. You just have to understand the concept that they'll be mad about anything.
- Mods do indeed, get nothing in return for the work they do, and I think I'm up to that. I'm up for the responsibility it takes to be a moderator on EpicMafia. I promise to moderate properly without bias and with dedication. I believe that the qualities necessary in being a moderator is in me.
- All I want is your unbiased opinion in my consideration for moderator, thank you.
- -TheWorst
- -
- Hey, It's Pamplemousse.
- I didn't think lucid was going to appoint mods but I still want yours spot if you leave. Or I can settle for Riot's spot, but not GDO's.
- Thank you.
- (still pomp)
- I've been on EpicMafia for maybe about a year now, and I've
- become pretty attached to the community. I enjoy talking to people on
- the forums and in-game. I would like to better the community by
- becoming moderator. I'm not gonna bullshit this application by
- boasting about how I'll make the community so much better because
- that's not going to happen, but I'll tell you some of my qualities.
- I am very easy to talk to and get along with. I know many mods
- and even regular players have "haters" and get into fights easily to
- cause drama, but I for one am not one of those kinds of people. I even
- try to cut the drama sometimes if I see it getting warmed up on the
- forums. I am unbiased and fair. I am very helpful to those who ask for
- it. I wouldn't even think of abusing my powers. I check my email
- often, I am available on Google chat, MSN, FaceBook, mostly all other
- instant messengers so I can talk to anyone at any time.
- I am fairly unbusy during the school year. I don't do any sports
- in the fall, so I am around from 3 PM and onward to moderate then. I'm
- on EM regularly so that shows how often and dedicated I am to the
- website.
- -
- Suppose I'll throw my name out there again.
- I'm still willing to be a mod, despite the dramatics going on on EM. I believe I'd be fair with my decisions, although possibly too lenient.
- Actually playing the game has become boring to me, so I'd like to have another reason to come to the site rather than just simply leave.
- Oh and about my feud with Jack... I wouldn't make rash decisions with him. I'd LIKE to, but before I made any decision concerning Jack, I'd ask another mod.
- Anyway, let me know.
- Thanks Niko.
- -Espionage

- From Super
- Dear Nikos,
- I decided to try again for a moderator position considering I still find myself capable and still really devoted to the site.
- Firstly, I think my activity on the site shows how committed I am to being online. I am in the Australian timezone so I am able to moderate at times I notice none if not one moderator is online. I play a lot and I think experience in the actual game is necessary to moderate the game itself. I have developed good judgement through playing and reading violations (yes, I spectate games in that thread when bored) which I think is also something a moderator should be able to do. This devotion to the game and website itself shows I have and will be here long and want to help improve the site.
- Secondly, I think I can admit my mistakes fairly well. I hate being wrong, so I strive to listen to other's opinions and make sure decisions I make are as right as possible. I may appear it but I'm far from arrogant. I do not consider myself better than anyone and I will hear both sides to an argument regardless of who is vs. who.
- Thirdly, I am kind-hearted and good natured. I can be harsh and say things I don't mean. But there has never been a time I have hurt someone and have not apologised. When I say sorry I truly mean it, as bitchy or harsh as I seem I actually respect the majority of posters and players on EM or I still wouldn't be here. My opinions on the site are usually clear and expressed loudly. I am a leader. I strive to lead the community, which I took as my responsibility before we had mods. I was one of the major people who helped Lucid change certain game mechanics and I was listened to by most. I understand my opinion isn't the greatest, but my intentions are good. I love this site, I have always and still want to help.
- Fourthly, I would be unbiased. I would never ignore a banned user if they were my friend. I would never out personal information unless necessary. I would never break the rules on this site or deal with violations regarding my closest friends.
- There have been "suspicions" of me cheating made by Riotkiller. I have never and would never cheat. Reggin has looked through my games and knows I don't cheat. I am hoping you don't consider that a reason to ignore me. If you have doubts, look through my games and clear me.
- The only wrong doing on this site I have done is post that dragon X-rated picture which I was oblivious to. I am sorry about that, and I hope that doesn't affect your decision.
- I feel as though I'd truly be fit to moderate. I like everyone in the moderating team, I'm trustworthy, I'm fair, I'm kind and I love this site. I want to help.
- Thanks, this is Super btw. I really hope you pick me as a replacement. I really do want to help and after today when everything literally went wrong I saw the that the community really needs a strong moderation team. I am confident I can help the site.
- Thanks again.

- RoughNightBro
- Dear current moderation team,
- I would still love to be a member of the moderation team, I think I have good qualities of a mod. I have been here 4 months warning/suspension free, Im not biased seeing as I dont have many "friends". I would love to help out. Good luck with whoever you pick.

- Lolivampire+Other accounts probably known
- Why should I be a mod you ask? Well, I think I can do a pretty good job at it for several reasons:
- I'm good at working under pressure, and I can deal with large amounts of work effectively
- I'm very good at doing repetitive tasks, such as dealing with reports on the thread and keeping track of names and offenses
- I don't have bias towards friends, in fact I tend to be more wary of people close to me than those who aren't as close
- I'm good at dealing with public opinion and flaming, and I'm willing to take one for the team if things get ugly
- I'm available for several daily hours, around 2 PM to 3 AM EST
- I would consider my mod tasks a DUTY , not just some volunteering work, so I would take it very seriously and professionally
- I'm level headed and don't let my emotions get the better of me
- I started playing around a year ago with the /v/ crowd, so trust me when I say I can take A LOT of heat
- So yeah, I think I would do a damn good job at this :3
- Thanks for reading~

- Edark94
- So where do I begin
- I joined Epicmafia 2 years ago(I had another account before this one) after getting invited by a friend of mine, we played with /v/ and /b/tards and I had fun. Then I noticed that u could actually play this game without trolling and still have fun, so I did and got this account. Then after playing alot EM 3 came and I had enough points for silver ticket, but not gold. Still having fun, not being so interested about the competitve play. Then after getting gold, I started to become a decent player, started getting some friends here. I started playing more and more seriously and I even started to read in the forums and got even deeper in the EM community. I became more and more irritated by bad players, which I was once, and hated getting lynched by “a dumb clear in 3way lylo” , I became mad of the community, not realizing that I wasnt perfect either, that used to be like that, and feel bad after lynching wrong, hell I could think about that misshammer hours after and thinking what I did wrong. I did no longer play the game because it was fun, I played to become better. I went to the forums more often and started to post now and then, share my thoughts and discuss about wheter or not joint win is against the rules and stuff like that. I realized this was nearly as fun as playing EM.So I wanted to become a moderator. I didnt apply when lucid asked for mods last time, but this time I wont let the opportunity slip away.
- TL: DR I want to become a mod.
- I play EM nearly everyday and I see my self as a funny guy, I get mad sometimes but usually nobody takes me THAT seriously. I think I got a clean record on this account, but I cant deny that I trolled in the past but I have changed from a /b/tard to a serious EM player.
- I live in Sweden and I speak decent english and we have GMT+1 time here, and I’m usually around 18-21 but I often lurk during the day's.
- I think I have written everything u possible want to know , and maybe more and I think the community wouldnt cause mayhem if they saw me become a mod.
- PS: I can haz mod p0werz pl0x?
- -
- Hey, I wanna apply to be a mod.
- I feel have the experience and I don't have the same biases a lot of other players have.
- I'm willing to put the effort in and I think EM needs a stable mod without all the potential scandal. I offer this as I don't play ranked and I don't go around making dramatic threads.
- I might not always get along with people and I can seem a bit arrogant at times, but I know how to be fair when needed.
- I wouldn't allow my feelings to bias my judgment and I would seek fellow mod help in questionable situations, rather than cause potential drama.
- I'm English, so I'd be on at times when other mods aren't available and I don't habe a job, unlike nikos so I'd be able to moderate the "deadzone", which has a surprising amount of reports that can at times go unresolbed for a number of hours till a mod is abailable.
- Pass my application along?
- Cheers,
- Laexio

- Hello *lol i'm the best*,
- I am here to send in my application for the spot of moderator for the website EpicMafia. You may know me as a relatively old user having joined in December of 2009. I am a well known, active player who has a fair share of likes and dislikes. I have accumulated about 54,000 points and currently hold a silver trophy on my main account, Shane.
- In terms of moderatorship, I know that it isn't as glamourous as it sounds and I'm fully aware that it is a tough, annoying, tiring job trying to help out a community as crazy as this one. I'm fully up for the task and will make wise decisions.
- http://www.epicmafia.com/topic/24477 is one thread I made about a game called hurt/heal. I continued off of the previous one and added more roles and you can hurt/heal roles blah blah blah. The point is, in this thread I typed out the whole OP from scratch and I had to look on the EpicMafia Wikipedia to put all the roles in alphabetical order and some of them were missing so I had to look in the role section also! I update it quite often and it basically shows that
- 1. I am an active epicmafia player
- 2. I know how to be professional when needed.
- In terms of knowing the moderators, I know every single one and have contacted them (old and new) in some form or shape. Mafiagal in games, you in the IRC, riotkiller on msn, lucidrains on gtalk etc. If you're worried about a mod becoming power hungry and downright crazy, that is not me. I have always been a calm and collected person, even in EpicMafia games. I find it is not necessary to yell at people. Despite being calm and collected, I know how to be serious and take control. I know how crazy the forums can be; I'm on the forums constantly. If harassment is an issue then do not fear because I can make an alternate account and am fully capable of deleting an alt for it. I have contributed to the site by donating 15$ to lucidrains himself. I also care for the improvement of the community, helping spot out many bugs on epicmafia and requesting he get more moderators in the wiki to freshen it up once more.
- Let's see I have a silver trophy already so the worry that I won't be able to run again really isn't an issue for me. Trust me, I've gotten 4th plenty of times and I won't be THAT upset. Uhh, United We Deceive with 9 other people and we are currently in second for highest points. I've gotten about 6 honour roles overall but honour roles are a joke honestly. I've made many setups in my time and one of them has been competitive two times. I live in the pacific coast in southwest washington.
- I'm a nightowl so i'm basically up even when the Australians and British people are. As you can tell i'm on quite often so checking and reviewing threads will not be an issue and I can get it worked out as swiftly as possible. Learning from the mistakes of previous mods if I become moderator, I will keep my identity secret and for the most part not contribute to the forums on that alt other than reporting in the heart refunds and report rule violations threads. If you think i'm a joke then so be it, i'm serious about this and would like to at least be considered. The majority of my actions in game and forums that were jokes were simply out of boredom. I never intend to cause harm and my idiocy on the forums is a mere illusion so don't let that fool you. My statistics show I have played over 2000 games and i'm clearly dedicated to making the site I so dearly love and enjoy a better place.
- With much hope and consideration,
- Shane

- Kanashimi:
- I want to apply as a moderator because i think i would do a good job for EpicMafia as a moderator.
- My qualifications:
- I have an above average level of experience inside EpicMafia, thus i know most of it, including players who can i trust and who i can't, what is strategy and wifom, and what's trolling and gamethrowing, etc.
- I know epicmafia necessities and flaws, thus i can contribute the most possible to it as it may need.
- I know all moderation rules and all infractions, and i've been present in many of the brainstorming threads about them (and play in general) around EpicMafia.
- I have a high avaliability; I visit EM all days and spend atleast one hour on it, being able to keep track of everything that's currently happening currently.
- I have an implemented role, and during Mibit Chats i've helped Lucid with many decisions, as the Werewolf Role, the Badges and suggested various implementations (some which were never implemented unfortunately).
- I am responsable for moderating the Epicmafia's Wikipedia.
- I've helped many new players as a teacher, basically teaching them how to play the game.
- I'm also known for being very impartial; I do not threat those i hate differently from those who are my friends on EpicMafia when it's about making a judgement.
- As an EpicMafia's Moderator, i will:
- Certify to implement the law and the order around Competetive/Training Lobbies, giving infractions to all infractors and helping those who need it.
- Constantly verificate trophy runners; Checking if they are cheating/doing any infraction in general.
- Constantly be helping players in general; Guiding newbie players to strategies and specially at how to report infracting players (read this if you're interested in my quick suggestion of ho
