- 2 Looks Like I’m A Monster
- Well, I hate to say it, but I’ve been reincarnated as a spider.
- Although I’ve accepted that fact, what do I do now?
- Munch Munch!
- For some reason, I heard a threatening sound.
- Un.
- It’s no good to turn my eyes away from reality.
- Right before my eyes, there’s a spider army that’d probably be considered my siblings.
- They’re the only ones who can make the sound.
- I glance ahead quietly.
- Munch Munch!
- Hogyaa!?
- What are they doing!?
- Huh, are they eating?
- They’re preying on each other!?
- All I can see is the struggle to live between my siblings.
- No no no no!
- This is bad, this is really bad!
- Why do I have to fight against my blood-related siblings!?
- Ah, it’s for food.
- They’re all hunger.
- In fact, I’m hungry too.
- Ha!?
- No, no.
- I escape from reality again.
- In such a battlefield,, I’m just an innocent girl that will fall into the clutches of evil men in the blink of an eye.
- Literally, it’s a metaphor!
- Fight
- Tools
- Escape
- The only way to get through this is to beat a retreat.
- Should I fight?
- Impossible.
- I am a genuine go-home club member.
- There’s no way that I can fight with such a violent group.
- Ah! I look just like them.
- Un.
- I should escape if I’ve got the time to think about something as useless as that.
- ZUN!
- What is it now!?
- A sound and vibration from the rear.
- When I turned around, there was a huge spider.
- Oh! Is it mother?
- Or is it father?
- This isn’t going anywhere.
- I’m confused now.
- Isn’t that spider way too BIG!?
- It’s probably ten times my size.
- Was there a spider that big on Earth?
- Hyoi, Chomp.
- Ah.
- The huge spider stabbed a smaller spider with its claw and ate it.
- Like it’s eating a snack.
- You too, Mother!?
- It looks like it thinks with its stomach.
- I should run away from here, and just try to survive for now!
- I escaped at full speed.
- I finally calmed down after I was tired of running, until I couldn’t even move anymore.
- Looking behind me, there weren’t any spiders chasing after me.
- Ah, I though I was gonna die.
- Death immediately after I was born is a bad joke.
- But now that I’m conscious, I have to think about things.
- I am currently a spider.
- It’s a fact I just have to accept.
- I mean, there’s no technique where a human can easily jump their own height, or run on vertical walls.
- What am I talking about?
- It’s a story about escaping.
- With so many spiders around, it’s impossible to escape just by running straight.
- It’d be like charging into a bargain sale where there’s a crowd of old women around.
- What a reckless act!
- No, well, I hadn’t even done something like that before.
- Anyways, when I was escaping, I jumped and ran on the wall, just like a ninja, and escaped from the crowd of spiders.
- When I was running, I had an uncomfortable feeling because of the number of legs, but somehow I managed to move them properly, without getting tangled up.
- Is this the so-called natural instinct?
- Un, well, being able to move my body without tripping over myself is a good thing.
- So if I’m a spider, then what was that super huge spider I saw?
- Un.
- Considering the situation, was that really my mother or father?
- I don’t know about spiders, but a parent who eats their own child shouldn’t be in the natural world.
- Well, I guess it’s a race where they start preying on each other from the moment they’re born.
- So it’s not that strange ethat the parent would eat its own child.
- If that huge spider is my parent, then will I become that size someday?
- I’m starting to feel sick just thinking about it.
- No, a spider is a beneficial insect that helps people. Isn’t that better than my previous life?
- That’s kind of depressing.
- Ah, no, no.
- Let’s go back to what I was thinking about.
- I can’t figure out the size of that huge spider by my own body.
- Because I don’t know how big I am.
- If I’m just the size of like a fingertip, then it’s fine.
- Then I can understand the size of that huge spider.
- Still, it’d be around the size of a tarantula.
- But if my size is bigger, then that huge spider must be a new kind that’s undiscovered on Earth.
- That’s still okay, but I just experienced reincarnation like in a fantasy, so I probably shouldn’t be that optimistic.
- To confirm it, I have to find out my size without delay.
- Is there anything that I can compare my size with?
- I looked around my surroundings.
- It seems like I’m in a rather big cave.
- Although there’s no light, I can still see pretty well, though it’s a bit dim.
- I looked around restlessly.
- Oh, Th-This is…!
- What’s on the ground was people’s footprints.
- Oh!
- There’s the footprints of several people here!
- In other words, it means that somebody came here before.
- That means there’s humans in this world.
- I was deeply moved when I knew there were still people.
- But I also realized a terrible fact.
- My body was much, much bigger than the footprint of a person.
- Un.
- Assuming the person was around 170cm tall… that makes me approximately 1m in length.
- Aah, un.
- I’d had a suspicion since I saw that huge spider.
- No matter how I think about it, I’m not a spider that’s living on Earth.
- In other words, I’m on a different world, unlike the Earth, and no matter how positively I think, I’m definitely a monster… Thanks a lot!
