The Day Hub Died

It was a bright and sunny day. Hub was taking a walk by the beach. She looked to the blue waves lazily lapping at the shore. She saw a young couple, a blue young lady and another young woman wearing a beanie were laying together on a towel. They seemed happy. She smiled, it made her happy to see others happy. The stress of maintaining viewership had hit an all time high lately, it was nice to get out and just enjoy life and not worry about work.

Hub went to a nice cafe and enjoyed a cup of coffee and some pastries. As she was drinking her coffee, she noticed a family, a man, woman, and their young daughter. The daughter was practically begging her mother for another cookie, saying that they had so many behind the counter and that she would be extra good the whole week if they let her have another. The father told the daughter that she could have another if she would take a sip of his coffee, Hub smiled when the little girl stuck out her tongue, saying that the coffee was "soo gross!"
Hub looked back down at her coffee. "Maybe once the channel gets more stable...", She mused to herself, "Maybe I could start dating again... Maybe, eventually...", She glanced back up at the family. Hub smiled extra wide, finished her coffee, and got up to leave.

As hub exited the cafe and began walking again she heard someone call out behind her, "Hey, SciFi! Wait up!", someone suddenly touched her shoulder, "Uh, Yes?", it was a young man with short blond hair and a x over his nose
"Huh? Oh, you aren't SciFi. Uh, sorry ma'am. My sister, SciFi, has hair kinda like yours. Uh... Sorry. Bye.", He ran off.
Hm, what an awkward young man... She continued walking, eventually crossing a street...

The car came out of no-where. It was going so fast, Hubs death was near instantaneous, her body getting flung up in the air like a ragdoll only to fall back down to the pavement with all the grace of a sack of hammers. From Hubs point of view, she felt a hard impact to her side and heard a loud -SMACK- Her life quickly flashed before her eyes. Her time helping PBS look after the younger tans, all the time taking care of the pony stables, the time her and Dan drove to the Canadian border and angrily flipped off Canada, calling them a bunch of french pansies.

And than all was black.

Black, with white snow.

Or was it white with black snow?

A loud buzzing became all she could hear.

She felt oddly at peace. She walked into the black and white snow, the buzzing growing louder, welcoming her. As she walked into the snow, she remembered the family in the cafe and how that awkward blond man mistook her for his sister.

"SciFi..." She smiled "I wish I could have met SciFi..."
