- I. Introduction
- The Lightsworns (Lightlords in the OCG) are an archetype of LIGHT monsters whose strategy focuses on sending your own cards from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard (more commonly referred to as milling). This allows us to not only use the Graveyard as a toolbox, but also to benefit from monsters whose effects require they be in the Graveyard, such as [YGOCARD]Necro Gardna[/YGOCARD]. Likewise, our boss monster can be Special Summoned for free once four different Lightsworns are in the Graveyard.
- Let's clarify one thing before we go further: although the Deck focuses on self-milling, this does not mean we should run a high number of cards in the Deck. This harms consistency, and if you play correctly, Decking out should almost never be a fear for you, as you will kill or be killed before you reach that point.
- The Lightsworns were first released in Light of Destruction, with further support in The Duelist Genesis and Stardust Overdrive. After four years of no direct support, the OCG received Duelist Set: Lightlord Judgment, a pre-made Deck with 3 new Lightsworn monsters. The VJUMP is also receiving another new Lightsworn. While there is no official announcement of TCG release, it can be assumed that we will get these 4 new cards eventually. Card ratios relating to before these card's release will be labeled as "Pre-DSLJ". Ratios relating to after their release will be labeled "Post-DSLJ".
