  44. BLANKET CELESTIA (Posted in Thread 878)
  45.
  46. >Days come and go, and at your age they seamlessly flow into one another.
  47. >You hardly notice the shorter days of winter. It wasn’t until recently that you got the nights off.
  48. >The extra break did little to spice up the routine of your royal tasks.
  49. >It took a real big change to catch your attention. Something that would turn the world on its head, something revolutionary, something completely new.
  50. >That something just so happened to come in the form of a human.
  51. >Or homo-sapien-sapien as Anonymous categorized it in scientific terms.
  52.
  53. >Everytime you saw Anonymous your curiosity peaked to forgotten highs.
  54. >Those tickles of wonder that played in your eyes reminded you of years long gone.
  55. >Whenever you got the chance you would fly out during to visit Anonymous, to exchange knowledge and secrets.
  56. >Usually you would catch the human out and about, but every morning since winter set in has been spent alone.
  57. > But you absolutely can’t take it anymore. Today you’re going to find out why.
  58. >You’re going to fly straight to Anonymous’ house, walk right up to that door, and knock gently like a proper princess.
  59.
  60. >Doing just that brings you face to face with Anonymous wrapped up in a blanket.
  61. >”Celestia, what are you doing here? Do you have any idea how early it is?”
  62. “I have not seen you the past few weeks and was admittedly a little worried. Usually you are outside each morning.”
  63. >”Yeah, well that was before it got cold. I’d love to keep seeing you each morning, but I can’t escape the warmth of my bed unless I really have to.”
  64. >You wish you could experience this cold, to yearn for the same snug comfort others do.
  65. >That’s hard to do when you literally radiate the warmth of the sun.
  66.
  67. >But you wouldn’t have ruled for 1000 years without knowing how to turn a situation around.
  68. “Anonymous, would you kindly open your blanket?”
  69. >”Huh? Why?”
  70. >You just offer a playful smile.
  71. “You’ll see.”
  72. >Your human friend slowly agrees, and you march into the opening.
  73. >As you inch close to Anonymous’ body realization sets in on its face.
  74. >”Celestia, you’re…you’re really warm.”
  75. >As if unable to restrain themselves, Anonymous closes the blanket around you two and wraps its arms around you.
  76.
  77. >That joyful tingle of something new tickles you again.
  78. >To be held fully and completely.
  79. >Anonymous falls asleep against you right there in the doorway, and you allow yourself to do the same.
  80. >The harsh winter wind you never really felt blows against you through the open door.
  81. >Despite your powers of the sun, you feel doubly invulnerable wrapped up in this modest blanket.
  82. >The wind still manages to strike against Anonymous’ arms, and with a shiver your friend drowsily awakes; questioning you with a voice ready to fall right back to sleep.
  83. >”Shouldn’t you be raising the sun soon?”
  84. >You should.
  85. “5 more minutes.”
  86. >Outstretching your wing, you break free from the blanket just long enough to shut the door.
  87. >Bringing your wing back into the comfy fold the two of you fall back asleep.
  88.

  91. CELEBRITY JEOPARDY (Posted in Thread 890)
  92.
  93. >TS: Hello, I’m Twilight Sparkle, and I am your host for Celebrity Jeopardy. Tonight’s guests are the only three humans in the entire world. Our first Contestant is Anon.
  94. A: Remember when horses couldn’t talk? Pepperidge farm remembers.
  95. >TS: Hehe, right….Our second contestant is Y.
  96. Y: It’s pronounced E, as in EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
  97. >TS: Lovely. And our third contestant is Mous.
  98. M: Woah, a talking horse.
  99. >TS: Let’s get this over quickly.
  100.
  101. >TS: Tonight’s categories are; Giant glowing objects in the sky, Things you need to survive, and Words that end in pplejack. Anon, you are alphabetically first so you get to pick the first category.
  102. A: I’ll take giant glowing objects in the sky for 100, purplecorn.
  103. >TS: And the answer is: This object will blind you if you stare at it.
  104. >Jeopardy music is now in your head manually.
  105. >TS: Here’s a hint. It can only be seen in the day.
  106. A: What is fire?
  107. >TS: That’s wrong, but you are on the right track.
  108. A: What is a bonfire?
  109. >TS: You already guessed. Y, you buzzed in?
  110. Y: What he said.
  111. >TS: That’s still wrong.
  112. >Jeopardy music is no longer in your head.
  113. >TS: The question was, What is the Sun?
  114. M: A ball of fire.
  115. >TS: I’m going to ignore you. Anon, you get to pick again.
  116.
  117. A: How about, Things you need to survive for 100.
  118. >TS: And the answer is: If you don’t eat this you will die.
  119. >You’re hearing it again
  120. Y: If you don’t eat this you will die.
  121. >TS: That’s incorrect.
  122. Y: But you just said it was the answer.
  123. >TS: I give you the answer, and you give me a question.
  124. Y: What is if you don’t eat this—
  125. >TS: I’m going to stop you right there.
  126. M: I have a question. We win money, right?
  127. >TS: The question is supposed to be for the answer. Also, the money you win is for charity.
  128. A: What is lame?
  129. >Where did the music go?
  130. >TS: Time’s up. The correct question was, What is food? What is food?
  131. M: No need to repeat yourself.
  132.
  133. >TS: Let’s move onto the final question and end my pain. The category is: Living things.
  134. >Do do do do do do do
  135. >TS: You can write down birds, or kitties, even grass would be technically correct.
  136. >do do do dun dun dun
  137. >TS: Now let’s see what our contestants have wrote. Anon, we’ll start with you. You answered ‘Fire’. I’m sorry, fire is not a living thing. And you wagered ‘pplejack’. Firepplejack. I don’t even know where to begin with you.
  138. A: I read it off the board.
  139. >TS: The fact that you can read is starting to surprise me. Moving on, Y, you answered….nothing. And you wadgered ‘sixty billion.’ You made a wager when you didn’t have an answer.
  140. Y: I didn’t want to be wrong and lose.
  141. >TS: Do you even understand how this works? Forget it, it’s almost over. Mous. You answered ‘6’. 6 is a number, not a living thing. For the sake of completion, you wagered…’9’. ‘69’. Cute.
  142. >WOOOOOOO!
  143. >A pink pony with crab claw gloves shouts out from the audience.
  144. M: Turtles in a half shell.
  145. >TS: That’s all the time we have. I’ve been your host Twilight Sparkle. Join us next time when we, hopefully, have different contestants.
  146.
  147. >TS: WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE DON’T HAVE NEW CONTESTANTS?!
  148.

  151. RESPAWN (Posted in Thread 904)
  152.
  153. >Be Anon
  154. >Stuck in Equestria
  155. >Live alone
  156. >Die alone
  157. >Had a respawn counter on your tombstone as a joke
  158. >Young ponies dare others to visit your grave at night
  159. >Hoodlums start scratching out the number and subtracting one
  160. >This becomes a tradition
  161.
  162. >The slightly older Cake twins are dared to visit by a classmate
  163. >"Let's go home Pumpkin."
  164. >"We can't go back, Pound. We'd be called fraidycats."
  165. >"It's dark, and creepy, and near the forest."
  166. >"All we have to do is change one stupid number."
  167. >They reach the grim marker under the watch of the full moon high above
  168. >”What’s a respawn?”
  169. >”I don’t know. Let’s just get it over with.”
  170. >The abandoned chisel left many years before is used to make the fateful mark
  171. >0
  172.
  173. >The magic of the land illuminates the absolute symbol
  174. >Nature itself seems to object as the ground underneath the pair rumbles
  175. >A long, tendril like appendage erupts skyward from the ground
  176. >As it lands, the claws on the end dig in and pull an endless figure up
  177. >The filly and colt can only watch on in fear, clasping onto each other in horror
  178. >Finally free, the tall figure maliciously eyes the two
  179. “You done fucked up.”

  182. LOTTERY (Posted in Thread 908)
  183.
  184. >Tonight was the night. You can just feel it.
  185. >Works over, weekends free, another day gone by. That means another late night out on the town.
  186. >Your misfortune can’t be eternal. Things have to eventually turn around, and you’re feeling good about tonight.
  187. >Busting out your glittering white and yellow suit with purple inlays, you prepare for the journey.
  188. >Simple won’t do; you need style.
  189. >A few tassels flutter here and there as you give a snap and present yourself to the world.
  190. >Confident in the amount of pizzaz, you move onto the dance floor and proceed to cut a rug.
  191. >Idioms.
  192.
  193. >Ever on the lookout, you bounce from hopefully single mare to mare with your fresh moves.
  194. >With little success, the hours pass and the alcohol flows. The midnight hours are when the second wind really gets to kick in, and you mosey up to one of the wilder ones who looks to have lost her inhibitions.
  195. “You got some smooth moves.”
  196. >”Oh yeah? You’re not too bad yourself.”
  197. “There’s a lot a guy can do with his hands free.”
  198. >Giving her a suggestive smile, you swing a little closer.
  199. >”Easy there, sug. I’m just enjoying the night.”
  200. >In a way you were planning to do the same.
  201. >“And to have some fun.”
  202. >She playfully sways towards you; receptive but daring.
  203. “The fun doesn’t have to stop with last call.”
  204. >”Mmmm. You look pretty big, but are you big enough to tell me why you’re REALLY here this late?”
  205. “I’m up all night to get lucky.”
  206.

  209. DADDY COMES HOME (Posted in Thread 909)
  210.
  211. Part 1: By Anon (not I)
  212.
  213. >"DAD WHERE WERE YOU? We looked for you for ages!" Celestia cries clutching your arm
  214. "What? But I left you a note on the fridge telling you I was going to Saddle Arabia to look for the portal that brought me here. I left contact info and everything."
  215. >Celestia freezes and turns to her sister who is currently clutching your other arm
  216. >"Sister didnt you accidentally light the fridge on fire around the time that dad vanished." she says through gritted teeth
  217. >The look in Luna's eyes is of pure terror as she shudders under Celestia's intense glare
  218. >"Uhh...DAD CELESTIA BANISHED ME TO THE MOON FOR 1000 YEARS!"
  219.
  220. ===================================================================================================================
  221.
  222. Part 2: By Fgt (I)
  223.
  224. "1000 years? Isn't that a bit excessive? I never grounded you for more than 250."
  225. >Celestia is quick to turn a pleading gaze to her daddy.
  226. >"She started it. She wanted to make nights last forever."
  227. >Luna jumps to her defense.
  228. >"Nuh-uh, Celestia started it. She acted like she was in charge just because she was older."
  229. >The two glare at one another while still holding onto you.
  230. >"You should listen to your elders."
  231. >"You should eat less sweets."
  232. >As they fight, their pull on your arms gets stronger and stronger.
  233. >"Are you calling me fat?"
  234. >"I am merely stating that you would be a good representative to send to the cows."
  235. >"And we can send you to the diamond dogs!"
  236. >Here we go again.
  237.
  238. >”Brat!”
  239. >”Pig!”
  240. >”Dwarf!”
  241. “Girls.”
  242. >”Glutton!”
  243. >”Ruffian!”
  244. >You were hoping to come home to less fighting.
  245. “Girls, stop.”
  246. >”Father likes me best!”
  247. >”Nuh-uh! You were adopted!”
  248. >That does it!
  249. “GIRLS!”
  250.
  251. >The pair flinches at your harsh voice, and go quiet. Their heavy pulling on your arms goes limp, but they still hold on tight.
  252. >As your pull your arms in, the two slink back beside you.
  253. “I love you both very very much, and I could never love one more than the other.”
  254. >You wrap the two in a large hug, and give a hearty squeeze.
  255. >”Then why did you leave us?”
  256. “I only left because humans have particular needs, and I want to see my own kind again.”
  257. >”Does that mean you’ll leave again?”
  258. “Not anytime soon, and I’ll always come back.”
  259. >Luna snuggles deeper into your stomach while Celestia rests her head softly against you. It took a while to get used to a horn being pointed directly at your face, but in time the sight went from a potential hazard to just another part of one of your girls.
  260. >Little do you know that those very same girls are also silently making a promise to themselves. A promise to take care of their daddy so that he never has to leave again.
  261. >Welcome home.
  262.

  265. SUPERIORITY COMPLEX (Posted in Thread 910)
  266.
  267. >Back in the library, you browse the shelves for the next book to rest on your night stand for a few nights.
  268. >You’ve already gone through the magic theories and their version of anthropology. Equinology?
  269. >Done with the research on pony kind, you decide to try a new subject matter. One hopefully far removed.
  270. >Grabbing the larger of the books, you take your selection to the one you’ve come to know as the Snarky Librarian.
  271. >”Find everything okay?”
  272. “Yup.”
  273. >As usual, she instantly takes a look at the cover to see what you choose this time.
  274. >”’The Mighty Minotaur: An Ethnography Study. By: Well Read.’ Minotaur’s this time huh? Planning on moving?”
  275. “I could be convinced.”
  276. >Lifting the book out of your grasp, she carries it over to the ledger on her desk and writes in a few numbers.
  277.
  278. >”I’m sure you know by now, but usual procedure. Bring the book back in 3 days, and if you want to continue reading it you may check out the book again unless someone is on the waiting list, though that never happens.”
  279. >Dotting the final mark on her paper, she happily floats the book back over to you.
  280. >”You’re also safe with such a niche topic. Unless Ms. Cheerilee assigns a book report, no one would be interested in that.”
  281. “Good to know. I’ll be off then”
  282. >”Wait Anon. I’d like to ask why you read so many kinds of books. Most ponies only stick to one or two categories, and none ever made a jump as big as magic to minotarus. Is it because of your special talent?”
  283. >Special talent? Bah!
  284. “No such thing. I just have more of an interest in learning than you ponies seem to.”
  285.
  286.
  287. >The aggressive explanation throws her into the defensive, and she is quick to counter.
  288. >“Plenty of ponies love to learn, and every scholar is an expert in their field! Even though you’ve read through my collection on magic, I bet I’ve learned more than you.”
  289. “And that right there is the problem.”
  290. >”What is?!”
  291. “How much do you know about farming, or medicine, or architecture. How much that DOESN’T involve magic?”
  292. >The question temporarily stalls her, but out of all the ponies you’ve met she was one of the near exceptions.
  293. >”I could get by.”
  294.
  295. “Your kind obsesses over unique talents, and beyond the knowledge needed to survive invests only in a single facet of life. Why do some ponies not bother learning how to treat a severe wound, or understand the forces pushing against the structure of their own homes? Why don’t they understand both how to farm as well as navigating a boat? Why do those very scholars who spend ages writing down their ideas never try writing a poem?”
  296. >There was a trend developing back home, and seeing it so fundamental here was not a welcome sight.
  297. “Because they expect someone else to. Someone who is a professional at the task; someone who has known nothing else. Those amateurs each hold a unique perspective that goes unused because everyone knows there’s a master out there. That kind of philosophy leaves only a few to push the boundaries, which leads to stagnation. And frankly, specialization is for bugs.”
  298. >The cogs in the librarians head spin along with the information, and the volume of your attack left her hushed. She only lets out a small whimper of a response.
  299. >”I’m not a bug.”
  300.
  301.
  302. >Bursting through the window comes the other human stuck in this world with you. Mous. And he looks ready for his own tirade.
  303. >”Now you have some fair points, and I’mma let you finish, but specialization is worlds better.”
  304. >Pulling out a standard #2 pencil, Mous waves the artifact from home around.
  305. >”Our standard of living has grown beyond the means available to one individual, as represented by this here pencil. Billions are produced and sold cheaply, and although it appears as a simple tool it took an untold number of hands to make. Someone had to cut the tree, saw the logs, mine the graphite, refine the graphite, make the glue, make the lacquer, mine the copper, mine the zinc, forge those into bronze, shape the bronze into a clasp, attach the clasp to the pencil, and plug in the rubber eraser.”
  306. >Mous holds the pencil still, and thrusts it forwards with an outstretched arm.
  307. >”Doesn’t seem so simple now does it, and yet it is an insignificant drop in the bucket of human achievement. Think about those real advances, computers, software, telephones, rockets and space stations. It is only through specialization that we were able to provide enough goods to live comfortably without using all of our time to try and do everything. That now free time is the real reason we could imagine such wonders.”
  308. >Eyeing the pencil in awe, the previously silent snark lets out a question.
  309. >”What’s a computer?”
  310. “A device used to call each other faggots.”
  311.
  312.
  313. >Mous immediately jumps at you with a punch.
  314. >”Shut it fag!”
  315. >You return your own post haste.
  316. “NO U!”
  317. >With you both slugging it out, the fight soon turns into a cartoon style dust ball and makes it out into the streets. Obscenities are yelled and sexual orientations are questioned from the center of the mess.
  318. >As the towns folk learn of the commotion, they pour into the street to watch the brawl. After making a circle around the cloud, they egg on the participants.
  319.
  320. >”Anon told me you’re a weeaboo!”
  321. >”Mous said your choice of music is sub par.”
  322. >”Are you going to take that hit lying down? Hit ‘em harder!”
  323. >”For crying out loud, rip a shirt off already!”
  324. >”Don’t harm the clothes!”
  325. >”Shut it you, I wanna see some skin!”
  326. >”Don’t you tell me to shut it!”
  327. >Another fight breaks out next to yours and two rings form. Circling yours is a group of mares, while the stallions watch the other.
  328.
  329. >Once one of the girls gets a bruise the other fight stops.
  330. >”Ow my shin.”
  331. >For no apparent reason your fight stops. As the dust settles the mares anxiously wait for the result. What they see changes their anxiety to alarm.
  332. >All of the gathered ponies observe the bloodied bodies you and Mous share with uneasiness. You look towards Mous, and Mous looks towards you. A soft chuckle escapes, and then grows to roaring laughter.
  333. >The two of you laugh and without sharing any words the two of you swing off towards the bar with an arm around each other’s shoulder.
  334. >Rattled by the sudden shift, the ponies mutter to one another about staying away from the strange humans. While the group gossips about the human’s drastic and flippant nature the anal retentive book worm watches the pair walk off.
  335. >”What pair of homos.”
  336.

  340.
  341. Part 1: By Anon (Not I)
  342.
  343. >Through some bizarre cosmic occurrence, whether through a nigh-impossibly random event from the quantum world or the actions of a mad, and extremely bored god, the entirety of AiE and PoE get dumped in the same room.
  344. >Neither can believe their eyes.
  345. >Both groups shuffle to the other ends of the room and spend the next few hours muttering amongst themselves and stealing glances at the other group.
  346. >The amount of fake-text "checking" and looking at feet/hooves is extraordinary.
  347. >Not a word is said for 8 hours.
  348. >Eventually, the cosmic happening unhappens and both groups are deposited back to their worlds.
  349. >Both threads erupt in:
  350.
  351. >"Holy shit did you see the ass on that human."
  352. >">tfw the horses were checking me out."
  353.
  354. >"I was -this- close from going over there and pinning a human down."
  355. >"Those ponies wouldn't be able to handle my dick."
  356.
  357. >"Why were they so scared of us? Looks like humans aren't as tough as they make out."
  358. >"Ponies? More like pussies, amaright?"
  359.
  360. >">tfw no human rutted you."
  361. >">tfw no pony cuddled you."
  362.
  363. And then both threads devolve into feels, the likes of which it never truly recovers from. No one wants to do anything any more because the realisation that they could have had hot pony/human ass sets in and they'll probably never get the chance to do it again.

  369. Part 2: By Fgt (I)
  370.
  371. >After reality set itself back to normal the now abandoned room was silent.
  372. >A lone Anonymous returns from the bathroom On the other side one of the background ponies does the same.
  373. >The two look to each other for an answer.
  374.
  375. >"Where'd they all go?"
  376. "No idea. Some sort of bullshit magic?"
  377. >The pony shrugs, and things are awkward again.
  378. >Being trapped in some sort of limbo was honestly pretty boring.
  379.
  380. "So.....you wanna do something?"
  381. >"Sure, like what? There's only two of us."
  382. "Hmmm."
  383.
  384. >A little while later the two are sitting close to one another, looking into each others eyes.
  385. "Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack"
  386. >"All covered in black, black, black"
  387. "With silver buttons, buttons, buttons"
  388. >"All down her back, back, back"
  389.
  390. >Today was an innocent day.

  394. COKE PONY THE FRESHMAKER (Posted in Thread 914)
  395.
  396. >A pony made out of coke?
  397. >Now you've seen everything
  398. >OR HAVE YOU?
  399. >An idea instantly pops into your head, an experiment you just HAVE to do
  400. >Reaching into your pocket, you pull out some Mentos
  401. "Here have some candy."
  402. >"I don't take candy from strangers."
  403. "Shut up and eat the candy."
  404. >"Not unless you can convince me with a song."
  405. >This place is torture
  406.
  407. >Reluctantly you go along with it, putting far too little energy into the jaunty tune.
  408. >It deserved better.
  409. "Do do do dooo dowaaaa"
  410. "It doesn't matter what comes fresh goes better in life, with mentos fresh and full of life."
  411. >Random bystanders start taking part and help act out the scene.
  412. >You nonchalantly walk by the fountain while the cutie mark crusader dive in, the splash soaking your outfit.
  413.
  414. >Popping one of the mentos into your mouth, you step behind a changing screen that appeared and take off the wet clothes.
  415. "Nothing gets to you, staying fresh staying cool, with mentos full of life."
  416.
  417. >Rarity, Aloe and Vera pass along a new suit and a brush behind the screen. Then when you emerge one of them sprays you with perfume.
  418. >This better be worth it.
  419. >The crowd picks up the chorus.
  420. >"Fresh goes better! Mentos Freshness! Fresh goes better, with Mentos fresh and full of life!"
  421. >Big Mac finishes it all off while you offer the roll to the coke pony with a suave smile.
  422. >"Mentos. The freshmaker."
  423.
  424. >Coke pone accepts the goods and pops one. You can literally see the chemical reaction, silently cheering with glee.
  425. >The head shoots up, and the jaw opens wide. A beam of sticky brown liquid shoots into the air.
  426. >It was the closest thing you’ve ever seen to a real hydro pump.
  427. >It was worth it after all.

  431. ORK BOSS ANON (Posted in 921)
  432.
  433. >"Anonymous, whys ya the boss?"
  434. "Cause ya squig, I'm da biggest an greenest ya dumb git!"
  435. >"Dat big ol' horse thing is bigger an' greener."
  436. "That ain't a proper ork!"
  437. >"You ain't a proper ork either."
  438. >A power fist comes down on the smaller ork, pummeling him onto his ass.
  439. "Shut it and prepare to WAAAAAAAAGH!"
  440. >"WAAAAAAAAGH...hey boss?"
  441. "WOT!"
  442. >"Why're we riding the red one?"
  443. >Facepowerfist
  444. "Cause the red one's go fasta ya nob."
  445. >Big Mac casually strolls along with the tiny figures bickering on the cart.
  446. >Word is another like group has appeared in the Crystal Kingdom and Shining Armor was looking for someone to field test them with.
  447. >Those 'elfdar' won't know what hit 'em.
  448.
  449. >The elfdar were crushed under the little green things, but that was only the start of Shining Armor's problems.
  450. >"They're spreading everywhere! Why are there so many now?"
  451. >The tiny green hoomie shouts in joy.
  452. "Spread the spores! Cover the planet in orks so dem weirdboyz can use their WAAAAGH magic!"
  453. >As the horde grows stronger so do the spells. The magic bolts being hurled across the room were starting to hurt a little.
  454. >Ponies were beginning to panic over the tiny terrors. Shining Armor tries his best to handle the situation.
  455. >"Don't worry I have a plan."
  456. >Cadence is frantically fighting off the tiny soldiers clinging to her mane and trying to attach choppas while Boss Anon yells at them from his command post on the crown.
  457. "Add some shootas! Its not shooty enough!"
  458. >"Whatever it is do it quick!"
  459. >"You may not like it."
  460. >"DO IT!"
  461.
  462. >A glowing image floats in the air of the throne room.
  463. >"So, uh, hey. I know we didn't exactly end things on the best hoof."
  464. >"How nice of you to call, dear."
  465. >"I told you not to call me that."
  466. >"What's the occassion? Trouble at home? Need your little love bug?"
  467. >Despite wincing at the words Shining struggles through. This is for Equestria.
  468. >"You could say that."
  469. >Cadence yells from the background.
  470. >"I am not okay with this!"
  471. >As does Boss Anon.
  472. "Now that's right proppa dakka."
  473. >"I am suddenly okay with this!"
  474. >A chitinous laugh echos from the comm.
  475. >"Sounds like a fun time."
  476. >"Listen, Chrysalis, they're spreading and fast. Do you think you can help?"
  477. >"Oh, I think I have an idea."
  478.
  479. >LATER
  480. "Get dos zerg wannabes!"
  481. >A green wave crashes into a black wall. Ork heads and Tyranid limbs scatter the ground.
  482. "Aim fer da big one!"
  483. >Chrysalis laughs over the miniscule battlefield.
  484. >"Yes, devour them. Serve your hivemind!"
  485. >The endless armies begin to wear each other thin.
  486. "I ain't losin' here! I'm da Boss! The best Boss! BIG GREEN AND MEAN!"
  487.
  488. >A shockwave pulses around Boss Anon as he pounds on the ground. A lictor and squad of gaunts sail through the air.
  489. "RELEASE THE LOOTED TITAN!"
  490. >The weirdboyz summon the powers of Gork and Mork, ripping a tear through the warp. What comes through horrifies everyone present, save for the orks.
  491. >Princess Cadence clad in a patchwork of plastic armor stomps into battle, her slow heavy steps demanding pause from the participants.
  492. >The orks cheer and rally as Boss Anon takes position at his command post atop her crown.
  493. "Roast 'em alive!"
  494. >The makeshift flamers mounted to Cadence's side chassis light up and sear both armies mercilessly.
  495. >Chrysalis scoffs at the new entry.
  496.
  497. >"You cannot stop the swarm! There will always be more!"
  498. >Entering the fray, she stands opposed to Cadence.
  499. >"Perhaps it is time the true hive fleet settle this."
  500. >A sadistic smirk grows on Cadence's face. Another burst of flame ignites towards its new target.
  501. >The swarm never stood a chance.
  502.
  503. >Shining Armor, who had remained on the sidelines, stood in awe of his wife and what she had done.
  504. >"I am so hard for you right now."
  505. >The smile never leaves Cadence's face.
  506. >"I think there's something to this WAAAAAGH after all."
  507. >"Take me!"
  508. >"Silence! There is work to do!"
  509.
  510. >Boss Anon clamors at the survives.
  511. "Ya hear that ya gits! 'Urry up an get yerselves together! There's more WAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
  512. >All the orks shout in unison.
  513. >"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
  514. >Even Cadence joins in.
  515. >"WAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
  516.
  517. >The ork horde grew, and with their new titan nothing stood in their way. Not even the elements could defeat them, for what is a WAAAAAAAAGH other than a collection of murderous friends?
  518. >And that is how the world fell to the orks.

  522. ANCIENT ANONYMOUS WARRIOR (Posted in 928)
  523.
  524. >Day bloodsport in Equestria
  525. >A strange creature showed up one day and started challenging everybody to fights
  526. >Literally everybody, it didn’t matter if they were pony, minotaur, dragon or Angel Bunny
  527. >At first it was just a small nuisance, but as stronger opponents were defeated the legend grew
  528. >Shortly thereafter the fights drew competitors and spectators from all over
  529. >Since no one knew the warrior’s name he became known only as Anonymous
  530. >Anon never declined a fight, and had even fought multiple opponents at once
  531. >It was always a sight to behold, bringing even the princesses to watch
  532.
  533. >The crowd cheers when Anon steps into the arena to face off against a bulking diamond dog that has clearly been using magical enhancements
  534. >The demonic shell on Anon’s body visually roars while the two long antenna on his head bob side to side
  535. >In an instant heavy fists clash with mutated paws, and blows are exchanged tit for tat
  536. >Gauntleted strikes mash at the diamond dog’s body
  537. >Massive claws wail on Anon’s face where the flesh was weak
  538.
  539. >Punches turn to grapples and they both end up scrambling in the dirt
  540. >Beefy limbs push each other away before entangling again, seeking to escape and attack all at once
  541. >The frantic battle for dominance has Anon on his back one moment and then the diamond dog on his the next
  542. >The shouting of the crowd intensifies when the wild scuffle winds down, leaving the winded challenger vulnerable
  543. >In one final feat of strength, Anon hefts the large body over his own head and then slams him into the ground
  544. >Another victory
  545.
  546. >Cheers drown out the arena and Anon revels in the praise
  547. >That is, until his eyes land on Big Mac
  548. “The red steed!”
  549. >Panic sweeps the stands as Anonymous charges a terrified Big Mac
  550. >With a mighty jump, Anon lands on Big Mac and spurs him forward
  551. >Bellowing out an endless warcry, the two ride off into the distance
  552. >Applejack and co. start to give chase, but are stopped by Celestia
  553. >”Do not pursue!”

  557.
  558. >Standing next to the store manager you idly watch one of the display tvs while you wait.
  559. >The people on the screen were all going crazy with joy; the newscasters discussing how this would open new frontiers for humanity.
  560. >What would it be like to go to space?
  561. >"I'm sorry, you're over qualified for the position."
  562. "Thanks anyway."
  563.
  564. >Taking your resume back, you leave the store.
  565. >That phrase didn't rattle you anymore, it has become all too common.
  566. >No matter how much you tried to make yourself the best candidate for your dream job, the economy was it's own monster.
  567. >At this point you'd accept anything; even be a janitor or burger flipper.
  568. >You need the money to live, but it was always the same answer.
  569.
  570. >Upon exiting you take a look up to the sky, the words from the news still active in your mind.
  571. >You spot a contrail shooting through the empty sky; what you once thought the trail of spaceships when younger, but now knew the truth.
  572. >A saying from long ago, an early memory locked away, slips pass your lips.
  573. "A boy has a right to dream."

  579. MOVIE MAKER ANON (Posted in 937)
  580.
  581. >With your handy dandy piece of handheld technology you try to make the best of a shitty situation.
  582. >Being in a land with no tv, internet or movies that weren’t educational was a grimmer hell than you wanted to admit.
  583. >So here you are trying to make a movie using your cell phone and a bunch of stolen dolls.
  584. “You got a friend in me, you got a friend in me…”
  585.
  586. >A worried gang of 6 ponies watch from the distance. Their leader steps forth with anger in her eyes.
  587. >”Give me back Miss Smartypants!”
  588. >Your co-star is yanked from your grasp, and you look over to the group. Turning to face them you do the only thing you can think of.
  589. “Cachink. Cachink.”
  590. >You make the sound with each heavy step.
  591. “Ayayayaya, wahhh wahhh wahhhh. Ayayayaya wahh wahh wahhhhhhhh…”
  592. >”Anon, what are you doing?”
  593.
  594. “Cachink cachink.”
  595. >You plant your feet firmly into the ground and take the well known stance, and squinting so hard that the mass of ponies merge into a single form.
  596. “What brings someone like you to this one horse town?”
  597. >”Hey!”
  598. “Lookin’ fer trouble?”
  599. >A single shadow breaks free and walk ahead to meet you dead center.
  600. >”Ah reckon you’ve rustled yer last doll there, partner.”
  601. “Ya reckon wrong.”
  602. >Your eyes shift from the lone figure to your side, not that anyone could see with your glorious stare.
  603. >Your rival doesn’t budge, and you wait for the dramatic signal.
  604.
  605. >A poofy silhouette bursts from the collective.
  606. >”Oooh, I wanna play!”
  607. >Your eyes flicker open at the outburst and scan for the culprit.
  608. >Pink hooves wave across the serious face. Her lips move at a frantic pace, but no words come out.
  609. >After a second they do.
  610. >”Ahha, you have committed great dishonor and bring shame. Now that I have finally found you I shall bring justice.”
  611. >Her mouth closes shut, yet the sentences keep coming.
  612. >”Prepare yourself for I have studied the ways of the manticore, and have mastered the zebra school of rhythmic dancing. My defenses are like the mighty rock, and your chimpman style will find no opening.”
  613. >She’s good.
  614.
  615. >Matching her style with one of your own you take position and do the same delayed speech.
  616. “How can one prepare for that which has not been seen? No, the mantis remains still to hide its true nature, and only when the time is right does it then strike. Come, young grasshopper, come into my grasp.”
  617. >A series of uwwoos and waaaas cries out besides elongated nonsense.
  618. >Suddenly a blue blur charges the two ponies and drops them to the ground.
  619. >”Get down!”
  620. >A silver bullet with golden tassels dives out of the sky and right into your chest. You’re sent crashing to the ground in a very non-mantis like fashion.
  621. >”Ooops, sorry.”
  622.
  623. >Gazing beyond the discombobulated eyes, you take a worried look at your phone.
  624. >Busted.
  625. >Picking yourself back up, you grab your assault by the nape of her neck and bring her face to yours.
  626. >”Ehhehehe. Crosswinds.”
  627. >The excuse does not cull your silent rage.
  628. >”What? Do you expect me to walk?”
  629. “No, Miss Hooves, I expect you to fly.”
  630. >You throw her into the air with all your strength. She tumbles in the air for a second before orienting herself and taking off.
  631. >”Alright, bye Anon. Crash into you same time tomorrow.”
  632. >This was the worst groundhog day.

  639.
  640. >"Hey Anon."
  641. Hey Scootaloo, what's up?
  642. >"Not much. My parents are gone on vacation again and I'm home alone all week."
  643. Well that sucks. You want to come over to my place for dinner then?
  644. >"Well, I don't want to be a mooch Anon."
  645. Don't worry about it. You deserve to have atleast one hot meal a day. Just help me wash the dishes when we're done and we'll call it even.
  646. >"Thanks Anon. You're so nice to me."
  647. Don't worry about it kid. Come by my place around five, okay?
  648. >"Awesome, see you then Anon."

  652. Part 2: By Fgt (I)
  653.
  654. >Dirty dishes fill the tray in Scootaloo’s lap
  655. >You sit on the side of the bed, helping when needed
  656. >”Thanks for the food, Anon. It’s just like old times.”
  657. “Yeah.”
  658. >How long ago that was.
  659.
  660. >Silence fills the room, and you try to think of something to say.
  661. >But there wasn’t anything left. Each of you has already said everything you needed to.
  662. >Scootaloo stares out of the window while you clean the bed.
  663. >”One last time.”
  664. >Almost everything.
  665. >”I’d like to fly one last time.”
  666.
  667. >You look to her, your words never coming but clear on your face.
  668. >”Soon, but not here. Not like this.”
  669. >You nod and return to her side.
  670. >The hospital staff kept a careful eye on her since the first big scare.
  671. >These last few weeks have been rough on each of you, but still you came each day.
  672. >For as many hours as you were allowed you remained nearby for the frightened filly in an old mare’s skin.
  673. >It was your right as a couple.
  674.
  675. >You lift her off the bed and hold her close.
  676. >Making your way to the window you struggle to squeeze through.
  677. >Your legs creak as they bend. There’s some strength in these aged bones yet.
  678. >And you slowly walk to the farthest field.
  679.
  680. >Scootaloo’s family and friends were regular visitors.
  681. >Sometimes a stranger would pass by looking for someone else, and wish her well.
  682. >There’s no doubt she was quietly wishing the same, but wishes and magic are two different things.
  683. “Are you ready?”
  684. >You ask the weightless bundle attached to your chest.
  685. >You feel her head nod against you, and reposition your grip.
  686.
  687. >Hoisting her up over your head, you push her up by the stomach; your hands a platform for the orange and purple glider.
  688. >And you run.
  689. >As fast as your legs can move.
  690. >Away from all the voices saying how it is a shame that she is still so young.
  691.
  692.
  693. >Her face is hidden from you, but you can read her posture tells.
  694. >Her head held high, her hooves pointing out, her wings flapping in the breeze.
  695. >”..ow me An..”
  696. “What?”
  697. >”Throw me.”
  698. >Scootaloo look down between her front legs at you; her eyes dig into yours.
  699. >”Throw me and don’t look back!”
  700.
  701. >You stop running; your grip encircling her again as you bring her down.
  702. >She offers no resistance as you wrap her close, yet does not match your fervor.
  703. >A soft nuzzle meanders in your chest while you squeeze as hard as you dare.
  704. >You stand there in silence once more. Nature itself quiet for the moment.
  705. >Your eyes burn and drip into the stringy coat.
  706.
  707. >After a moment you raise your head and soft fur brushes against your cheek.
  708. >That youthful vigor Scootaloo always seemed to have gently smiles at you like the many times before.
  709. >Way way before.
  710. >The cocksure grin you always had when Scootaloo needed a hand meets her in kind.
  711. >Without waste of breath you innocently kiss for what you know to be the last time.
  712.
  713. >Arching your arms back, you put every ounce your body has left to give into the throw.
  714. >Your little jet plane takes off, fluttering madly; her candle burning as bright as ever before.
  715. >But you cannot obey her final request.
  716. >You cannot look away.
  717. >Her head turns to look behind her, and your eyes lock with one another until she disappears from view.
  718.
  719. >For hours you waited, for as long as you possibly could.
  720. >You never saw her come down. She could have landed anywhere.
  721. >Or maybe you really did find an angel that fateful day.

  728. >Strands fall out and stick to your palm.
  729. >Shit. It is thinning. You're going to need a wig or something.
  730. >What to do, what to do? Or more precisely, what color.
  731. >Purple and pink are out of the questions. Having a rainbow on your head is also retarded.
  732. >You're not really feeling blonde, but it'll have to do.
  733.
  734. >At Sweet Apple Acres
  735. "Hey, Applejack, what's that distraction over there?!"
  736. >"What? Where?"
  737. *bzzt*
  738. >You madly run home with prize in tow. Death incarnate chasing you down.
  739. >After managing to lose her, you fix yourself up and decide to celebrate with a night on the town.
  740. >You even manage to get lucky.
  741. >"Mmm, your hair smells nice. Like apples."
  742. "Thanks, it's uh my shampoo."
  743.
  744. >The next morning you see Applejack walking through town with apples to sell.
  745. >She's wearing a hat on both ends.
  746. >Must suck going bald.

  750. STORYTELLER ANON BONUS CHAPTER (Posted in Thread 974)
  751.
  752. >Your bones rattle and shake as you walk down the dirt road with walking stick in hand. It is a task you have done many times before, yet there was always something new to see.
  753. >The main path flattened by use makes for smooth travel, and so that is where you stay. Occasionally a pony will cross your way with a wave and a hello. You return their niceties while memories of yesteryear, where you would have to hide among the bushes, play through your head.
  754. >For the most part the journey is like any other, but when your eyes spy a makeshift hut you stop to look.
  755. >Beige coat and brown mane mix together encased by cardboard. Even the azure blue eyes that should provide a sense of color have a sullen dullness to them as they stare into a puddle. Only due to the water alone does the reflection hold any semblance of life.
  756.
  757. >You read the neighboring board propped up beside the box; a list of favors for bits. Although you have seen the hardships of this land and those beyond, to gaze upon such a sight here is a first. A visible disconnection of everything this world stands for sits right in front of you. Unnerving as it is, there is also a dark comfort in your soul.
  758. >Minotaurs are individualistic in their glory, but rely on the camaraderie of shared adventures. Griffons are harsh on their young, yet cherish their band. Zebras may be single-minded in their research and study, however they pursue what will help the community. Buffalo fiercely tie themselves to the land and their tribe.
  759. >As for the ponies, well, to say they are communal would be a heavy understatement. Even the dragons, fueled by competition and greed, migrate in unity.
  760.
  761.
  762. >Immune to the contradiction before you, you hobble over to the mare. Your own stomach grumbles in want, reminding you of the many more miles you have to go. Still, you shall take a short break.
  763. “Mind if I sit here?”
  764. >Those empty pools in her eyes give a cursory glance over your form. Her words come flat and hollow.
  765. >”What will it be?”
  766. “No, no. I don’t have a coin to my name. Just need to rest for a minute.”
  767. >”Can you go away then? You’ll scare any customers.”
  768. >Her voided stare remains on your withered face. Wrinkles cascade over your cheeks as you brandish a smile.
  769. “You wouldn’t deny this broke old soul a seat would you? I’ll only be five minutes.”
  770. >She watches you for a moment while you set your makeshift cane down. When you make no signs of moving she goes back to watching the road.
  771.
  772. >Mentally going over what little you can pick up from her, you analyze your audience.
  773. >Earth pony, cutie mark possibly none, desperate but not violent. She may hold a form of obligation or low self-esteem. Let’s see here…
  774. “Have you ever heard of the filly of Tall Tale?”
  775. >She doesn’t bother to even move a muscle.
  776. “I don’t suppose you do, she’s not known outside the town. It was only by chance I was wandering through. Poor girl, right as the coldest winter hit.”
  777.
  778. “Tall Tale is a small little village up in the far north near the Crystal Mountains. The ponies there are hardy folk; mostly earth ponies and unicorns. It takes a lot of wood to keep the fires going throughout the long winters, and everyone keeps a large stockpile.”
  779. >The mare’s head sags away from the passersby and her gaze falls onto the pond.
  780. “Without magic lighting a fire can be a challenge for the earth ponies, and without their strength the unicorns could never hope to harvest enough wood. The ponies rely on one another, but come winter it is not uncommon for the town to be entirely snowed in. Thus, families must prepare to be on their own.”
  781.
  782.
  783. Winter was harsh that year, and the snow never seemed to stop. Only the chimneys and their smoke gave any signs of the buried homes. Even for being up north winter was running long, and the filly’s family had barely any logs left. That night, after everyone was asleep, she opened the front door and began to dig. Since she was the smallest, she figured needing a smaller tunnel would make it easiest for her.
  784.
  785. “Her tiny hooves shied away from the cold, but she dug and kicked. It took an hour or two for her just to reach the street. Carried on by her strength alone, she pressed on and made it to her neighbors. What a surprise it was for them to hear a knock at their door and to find the little filly surrounded by snow.
  786.
  787. The family brought her inside, and she warmed up by the fire. Explaining the situation, she promised to repay them however she can in exchange for a piece of wood. They told her to stay the night, but she insisted and they gave her a single log. After saying thanks she rushed back outside.
  788.
  789. Barely passed the entrance, she found that her tunnel had collapsed. The warmth of the neighbor’s fire instantly left her in favor of a deep chill. It had taken her hours to get here, and now the sunken snow was packed even tighter. Yet in her mouth she held exactly what her family needed, and so she began.
  790.
  791. The white barrier crunched under her hooves as the sweat froze to her body. Straight ahead a fire awaited her; one she would help provide for. Soon she would be nice and toasty at home with some of mom’s soup to remove the chill from within. She was already to the street again, but the sheet of ice on her back was a heavy blanket.
  792.
  793. A little flame was all she needed, something to stave off the frost. For the second time the filly knocked on her neighbor’s door. They again asked her to stay, but she told them she had reached her house and only needed the log lit. After lighting the tip for her she said her thanks and took off.”
  794.
  795.
  796. >Your crowd of one turns to face you. Now having her attention, your movements and inflections break into full form.
  797.
  798. “Light from the embers bounced off her cheeks and coat. The sheen from the thin ice caused her to glow, and a circle of yellow blended with the color of her fur danced along the walls. The life of the sparks seeped through the cold and into her very core; reigniting her determination.
  799.
  800. Yet, her torch threatened to burn her so she had to set it down. Standing it behind her, it became a pillar for her to look back to. Heat licked the snow above causing droplets of water, but they were no danger to the fire. With marker in place she returned to her duty carving a way home.
  801.
  802. The filly dug with labored breathes, her pillar casting against her back. A quarter of the log had been consumed, but the majority remained for her family. Another foot and they would all be warm, another inch and they would all bless her, another hoof and they would all love her. A dream, it would be like a dream. And the filly collapsed.
  803.
  804. In the morning they searched, but it was too late. The girl was found frozen in the tunnel with the beacon still lit. No one dared to travel her tunnel and retrieve the log for fear of it collapsing, and so there it remained. It burned all the way through before the snow fell, perhaps held up by the spirit of the little girl with an unbreakable back.
  805. And that is why if you go to Tall Tale in winter you will find a single burning log standing like a candle in the center of town.”
  806.
  807.
  808. >The mare continues to stare at you with her empty eyes; however, you spot a speck of light plays in her irises.
  809. >”That’s a sad story.”
  810. Mmm. “Sometimes life is sad, but not forever.”
  811. >Grabbing your walking stick, you stab the base into the ground for leverage.
  812. “I suppose my time is up. It was nice chatting with you.”
  813. >The mare slowly rises to her hooves, her voice still holding a monotonous tone.
  814. >”You can stay longer if you need to.”
  815. >Weary joints crack in protest as you stand, but you never listened to them.
  816. “I must really be going. Before I do, there is a small dinner nearby. They love to hear a good story.”
  817. >Beginning on your way, you head for the road. No sound of steps join yours so you speak a little loud.
  818. “It’ll have to be one they haven’t heard before, and something you can devote yourself to telling.”
  819. >With a hidden smile you continue your journey.

  827. MAFIA SCHOOL (Posted in Thread 994)
  828.
  829. >Day Elementary School
  830. >It’s recess, and you are standing at the back of the school, away from prying eyes. Today started out so promising but someone was out to ruin the mood; and you didn’t like that. The wiffle ball bat in your hand methodically taps against the ground as you wait.
  831. >Sweetie ‘Voice’ Belle is there with you while the muscle is busy finding your missing pal. She tries to put on a confident front, but every few taps she changes her mind and moves to another position.
  832. >She always gets antsy when it comes to these little ‘meet ups’, and you know how she hates your tapping, but this is business.
  833. >A rough cackling comes from around the corner, and Sweetie instantly straightens up.
  834. >Show time.
  835.
  836. >Scootaloo ‘the Bruiser’, sometimes called ‘Bruiser Scooter’ on the playground, and ‘Big Bow’ Applebloom each flank a short jittering colt.
  837. >Scoots shoves the stubby blue pony to the ground in front of you, and chuckles.
  838. >”Missed you in homeroom today tubby. Planning on playing hooky?”
  839. >”N-No! I-I’d never—“
  840. >’Big Bow’ Applebloom stomps a hoof and casts a mean glare at the culprit.
  841. >”Can it; yer partner already told us everything!”
  842. >Snips’ eyes go wide and his shaking stops. He looks around the entire group before resting his sight on you.
  843. >”It’s a lie! Y-you can’t believe him!”
  844. >Your tapping stops and Sweetie takes in a deep breath. Everypony goes quiet and looks to her while you stay focused on Snips.
  845.
  846.
  847. >”There’s no need to lie to us; we’re understandable ponies here. Everypony has their little vices, and with the excitement of Pudding Day a pony may forget certain details. We’re not without our own flaws, and we do our best to be fair. That’s why we only ask every other week, so that ponies like you can keep the majority while we make enough to get by.
  848.
  849. >We do this in good faith, but when someone forgets to hold up their end it makes us wonder: ‘Are they taking advantage of our kind nature? Are they insulting our charity?’ Why try to be respectable when no one else will? Now I don’t know about you, but a world like that is not one I want to live in. Without respect ponies would do all sorts of terrible things to each other.”
  850. >”I never meant any—“
  851. >’Voice’ holds up her hoof to silence the colt.
  852. >”We are sure you didn’t. Let’s just put this all behind us.”
  853. >You hold out your free hand.
  854. >”Lunch money.”
  855. >Snips quickly pulls several bits from who knows where and drops them in your hand. Sweetie remains calm as she issues her final command.
  856. >”Go, and don’t ever be late again.”
  857. >He instantly bolts off, hurriedly muttering a ‘thank you’.
  858.
  859. >Once he is out of the picture Sweetie Belle lets out a puff, and the other two relax to their regular selves.
  860. >Sweetie handled herself well today, and proved worthy of her title. You’ll have to compliment her later. Now was pudding time.
  861. >The three join you as you walk to the cafeteria; Scootaloo being the first to speak.
  862. >”I don’t really like being all mean like that. Makes me feel like Diamond Tiara.”
  863. >Applebloom follows after Scoots.
  864. >”Me neither. An’ tellin’ Snails we’d shred his homework was awful. He nearly started cryin’.”
  865. >But you didn’t have to say a thing. That’s where ‘Voice’ comes in.
  866. >”It’s not personal. It’s strictly business.”
  867. >God you’re proud of that filly.

  871. SUP-COM-PONE (Posted in Thread 1014)
  872.
  873. >The pristine land of this world, untouched since the civil war, prepares for devastation once again as two giant mechanized warforms dominate separate sides of the island.
  874. >On one side a red horned devil the size of a mountain begins evaporating tree after tree. A bulking behemoth of blue occupies the other, blasting large rocks for resources.
  875. >Inside the machines sits the respective commanders who, with the use of their Armored Command Units (ACUs), can create whole nations in minutes. With enough resources the layout of this land bends to their whim.
  876. >The blue Pegasus pilot of the matching ACU wears a finely pressed uniform decorated in medals. Her hub is minimalist and organized with not a fraction of space unnecessarily wasted.
  877. >In contrast, a white unicorn in dull grey armor is surrounded by freely hanging wires plugging into the back of her chair. The circuitry just beneath her skin makes itself known with a soft glow as data streams in at rates far beyond the limits of a natural mind.
  878. >With an electric pop, a telescreen occupies the cockpit of each.
  879. “Fancy meeting you here, Rainbow Dash. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
  880. >”You know why I’m here, Rarity. This world rightfully belongs to the UEF, and you better leave while you have the chance.”
  881. “Now is that any way to treat an old friend? Besides, us Cybran were here first, and we will be staying. In the name of our past friendship I’ll allow you a few minutes to gather your things.”
  882. >”I will not abandon my mission.”
  883. “If that is how you want it, but I won’t take it easy on you.”
  884. >”I wouldn’t have it any other way, chip face.”
  885. >The red glow of Rarity’s circuitry visibly pulses and intensifies.
  886. “IT. IS. ON!”
  887. >”Bring it!”
  888.
  889.
  890. >Two distinct bases take shape in a manner of seconds complete with full sized factories and storage containers while metal and solar collectors dot the rest of the landscape.
  891. >Rainbow’s layout works more as several outposts creeping their way towards her enemy; land unit factories following her advance with little supporting structures. A growing mass of Mech Marines stream in to accompany her in this leapfrog fashion as she claims more and more of the map.
  892. >Rarity uses a centralized main base with power and metal feeding directly into the factories, but her expansions are left exposed. Clear lanes of travel allow for batches of units to be supplied without hiccup, and her input carefully matches her output. The efficient design also just so happens to make a diamond on the minimap.
  893. >While constructing a new air factory Rarity’s AI buzzes an alert. With a single thought her wires pulse and her monitor jumps to the surveillance camera overhead one of the farthest extractors.
  894. >From inside the fog of war pours out a squad of tiny bots.
  895. “A rush? I should have expected as much from you.”
  896. >Another alert buzzes over a second extractor with Rainbow’s ACU slowly marching behind the tide.
  897. >”All’s fair. Pack your things; I’ll have this won shortly.”
  898. >Rarity leaves the airfield to the construction bot and starts building defense turrets. The sudden loss of resources alongside the needy construction only allows her to build a few before Rainbow’s army arrives.
  899.
  900. >Face to face with the incoming swarm, the turrets begin plinking away with moderate success. Inside Rarity’s ACU, the red lights dim as all power is diverted to the Molecular Ripper Cannon. An ominous low hum rises in tandem with the beast’s right arm. A purple orb soon bursts from the barrel shredding through the light armored mech.
  901.
  902.
  903. >Each second a new round takes out another unit. However, numbers see the line close in with every UEF drone making Rarity its target. Despite the thick armor protecting her volatile core the damage is beginning to stack up, and should her defenses fail the reactor on Rarity’s ACU will go nuclear ending in a massive fireball.
  904. >With the enemy focused solely on the kill the turrets are able to maximize their effectiveness. The first wave completely dies off by the time Rainbow can make it to the front. She stops just out of range with the few replacements she was able to construct.
  905.
  906. >”You might as well surrender. I have most of the metal nodes; you’ll never match me in resources.”
  907. Hmph. “Waste not, want not.”
  908. >Rarity’s left arm hovers over the smoldering remains of one of the fallen robots. A green particle array sweeps over the corpse disintegrating it and reclaiming the precious material.
  909. >”Oh no you don’t.”
  910. >Rainbow and her contingent rush in under a barrage of turret fire. Again that same right arm aims at the enemy, but the low hum instead becomes a mighty roar. Dipping into her energy reserves, Rarity overcharges her shot and shoots into the mass. The resulting explosion obliterates the primary target while wiping out those caught in the radius.
  911. >Rainbow retaliates with an overcharged shot of her own which instantly destroys a turret and heavily damages its neighbors.
  912. >Mech Marines fall in droves to the turrets and vice versa, but the skirmish is of little consequence in the grand scheme. Being tier 1, the damage of either is minimal compared to the power and health of the ACU’s.
  913. >Although Rainbow has more health due to the first wave the difference is not enough to guarantee she will survive the resulting explosion. To simply slug it out would be a fool’s errand.
  914.
  915.
  916. >Pushed back, she gathers her forces to leverage her advantage by establishing a base right on the perimeter.
  917. >”Fine, I’ll sit right here and build up.”
  918. “You’re implying I’d give you the chance.”
  919. >Notifications flick across Rainbow’s hud as a lone Zeus circles one of the miners and drops its payload. The stealth bomber is shortly joined by another while a new pair hits one of Rainbow’s rear outposts.
  920. >Completely vulnerable to the attack, a queue of anti-air is frantically ordered up.
  921. >In the mean time, Rarity loots the battlefield while Rainbow reinforces her forward base and jumps to the more powerful tech 2 land factories.
  922. >Eventually the anti-air clears out the air units saving most of the structures. Rarity does not launch any additional bombers, instead keeping her plans safe behind a glowing red force field supported by heavier turrets.
  923.
  924. >Pillar heavy tanks continuously stream out of the new factories on Rainbow’s side. Knowing her advantage, each minute only makes her stronger.
  925. >Opposing her are massive energy storage facilities and collectors towering behind the turret wall ready to provide a steady supply. Rarity always was a turtler, but here numbers were meaningless.
  926. >No matter how many tanks her defenses can kill there will always, ALWAYS be more.
  927. >”You’re out of troops to salvage, and these bad boys aren’t stopping once I let them loose. Ready to surrender?”
  928. “Just a minute~”
  929. >The pitch of Rarity’s musical response is quickly dotted by the sound of artillery fire.
  930. >One thing about turtlers, they love their super weapons.
  931.
  932. >A shell smashes near the base but manages to miss everything. Another shell follows close behind also missing, then another, then another, and then one slams directly into Rainbow nearly throwing the mechanized behemoth off its feet.
  933.
  934.
  935. >Dazed but sturdy, Rainbow orders the charge lest her army be shelled into oblivion. A rain of artillery fire lands at impossible frequency, hitting and missing with irregularity.
  936. >Despite the fog, the source can clearly be seen as coming from a single point. Rarity has built a Scathis.
  937. “You may have left me without much metal, but I have LOADS of energy.”
  938. >A river of tanks plows through the crater forming explosions and engage with the front row of turrets. Rainbow’s overcharged shot does full damage to the shields and assists in bringing them down.
  939. >The anti-air bots from earlier find a new use since Rarity stopped sending aircraft, and lead the way soaking up laser fire without hesitation. Missiles from the back turrets launch into the tanks taking out some, but are unable to stem the tide.
  940. >With the ease of Rainbow’s advance, Rarity’s intentions become clear. Her turrets, the bombers, the illusion of heavy defenses, it was all a ruse. She was trying to buy time.
  941. >Rainbow mixes in with the tanks, bobbing and weaving while offering repairs as they go. With the Scathis’ range and ability to move her only safe option is to get close.
  942. >Rarity hides somewhere in the back with her secret weapon and storage of energy, putting all of her chips on this one unit.
  943.
  944. >Like a merry-go-round, the multiple barrels on the Scathis’ spin around after each shot keeping it loaded. So long as Rarity maintains the energy supply it can fire without stop.
  945. >Yet, Rainbow’s forces have broken in to the heart of the base. Fresh units from the interior factories try to stall the advance, but are destroyed as soon as they leave the assembly line.
  946. >Solar collectors and energy storage buildings are systematically destroyed while forever zigzagging in an effort to be difficult targets. Meanwhile, Rainbow’s own factories churn out reinforcements without end.
  947.
  948.
  949. >Finally, the army finds where Rarity is hiding, but the close range comes at a cost. Still outside the minimal distance, the Scathis is able to aim with precision and Rainbow eats another hit.
  950. >She yells as she closes the gap, her overcharged shot nearly killing the dreaded unit. Her tanks nail down the tiny bit of remaining health, sealing its fate. They then turn their attention on the sole survivor.
  951. >However, they ignore the nearby energy buildings in their bloodlust allowing Rarity to harness the full power of her ACU.
  952. >Charged shot after charged shot hits Rainbow every 3 seconds, the collateral damage chipping at the nearby tanks. Rainbow aims to match the rate of fire, but her energy storage is near non-existent from favoring constant construction.
  953. >Still, her tanks can do most of the work and she backpedals to get to a safe distance while her forces block Rarity’s path.
  954.
  955. >Although slower, backpedalling lets Rainbow keep firing to help bring Rarity down faster. The Cybran ACU stays trapped in the sea of units.
  956. >Rarity’s hud flashes warning lights and critical prompts pop up only to be dismissed. Her eyes fume malice in their hateful glare, the red veins of her one blue eye boiling with blood while the circuitry streaming data to her yellow eye plays every scenario.
  957. >Gritting her teeth, she violently forces the controls forward.
  958. >The protective chest plating opens wide exposing a massive circular port. Lights around the hole merge towards the center pronounced by a familiar roar.
  959. >Bright purple energy coalesces into a single beam before shooting straight out. The Heavy Microwave Laser cuts through everything it touches and makes a clear path to Rainbow. It then locks onto her, puncturing layer after layer of armor.
  960. >Rainbow’s hud adopts the same warning signs. Victory is close, but this level of damage is too high, and with the coming explosion…
  961. >Pulling a hoof free, she slams the big red emergency button.
  962.
  963.
  964. >What comes up on the screen causes her pupils to shrink as her blood to runs cold.
  965. ‘Personal Teleporter Offline: Insufficient Energy’
  966. >”Noooo, I was so close!”
  967. “Till death do us part, darling.”
  968. >Rainbow’s tanks finish the last of Rarity’s health, penetrating the core.
  969. >Sound ceases to exist as the brightest white takes over all existence followed by a sudden heat.
  970. >Rainbow’s ACU casing melts fracturing her own core and creating a second fireball within the first.
  971. >The commanders, the tanks, the buildings, the husk of the Scathis and the very landscape itself become a charred mass grave.
  972.
  973. >Giant font takes center stage on both computer screens.
  974. ‘DRAW’
  975. >Rainbow slams her head on the desk with a groan while a frazzled Rarity tends to her mane.
  976. >You, on the other hand, stare in awe at the virtual combatants.
  977. “Damn, you two really got into it.”
  978. >Rarity takes in a deep breath, and then gives you a childlike smile.
  979. >”You were right, there is a lot more to this than I anticipated. The first few games were kind of slow and dull, but then you told me about balancing resources with multiple factories and how chaining buildings boosted one another, and I couldn’t help myself. There’s still so much I want to try; so many designs to test.”
  980. >”Eh, that stuff is boring, but seeing all of those explosions and big giant mechs beating each other up is just so cool.”
  981. >”Well that certainly explains your lack of finesse.”
  982. >”Hey, I had you that time.”
  983. >Here they go again. Better stop them before this rivalry gets any deeper.
  984.
  985.
  986. “I didn’t expect you girls jumping into the roles like that. Kind of figured the story would be too dark or something.”
  987. >Rainbow puffs her chest and shines with pride.
  988. >”We like stories about conflict too, just look at Daring Do. Sure this one is about war and stuff, but the focus is on the characters and their beliefs. Plus, they use clones or robots to fight, and it’s all made up anyway.”
  989. >”A moral quandary for sure. Do clones count as individuals? Are those who choose to modify themselves not privileged to the same rights of choice?”
  990. “Woah, woah dumb it down. Let’s get back to the explosions.”
  991. >”Yeah, Earth first right Anon?”
  992. “As long as you’re not a filthy Aeon you’re okay in my book.”
  993. >Rarity rolls her eyes with a huff.
  994. >”Yes, yes, let’s save our little heads from any substantial thinking. Regardless, I am curious. Do you have any other base building games?”
  995. “Oh, I can think of at least one other series.”
