- How to use .aco files in Photoshop
- Info: The biggest advantage in using swatches is that you don't have to keep scrolling one list with hundreds of colors for all your ponies. One file per pony worked best for me, you don't have to deal with colors you don't need at the moment.
- 1. Make sure you saved your own swatches if you created some.
- 2. Select the "swatches" tab in the top right corner beneath the color tab
- 3. Open the tab menu (the tiny dropdown button in the top right corner of the swatches tab)
- 4. Select "Replace Swatches..." from the list
- 5. Search and select the swatches file for the pony you want to color
- 6. Open the tab menu again and select "Small list" to get an overview over all swatches (Has to be done just once)
- 7. Now select the desired color just by clicking on it
- 8. You can add your own colors by right-clicking on the swatches, selecting "New swatch...", typing a name and confirming.
- 9. You can save your own swatch collection by opening the tab menu, choosing "Save swatches..." and saving the colors anywhere as .aco file.
