  15. I. Introduction [SECTION1]
  16. This guide is meant for all players of Era. For people who are ETs, it will be a reference
  17. guide that can help reinforce your memory, and be a source of information to double check.
  18. For people who aspire to be ETs someday, this will be a great way to learn a bit about hosting
  19. before you apply. You can write down you've memorized all of this! (Note that being an ET is
  20. NOT ALL ABOUT MEMORIZING WORDS. it takes many other skills as well. But this is a decent way
  21. to start). For new players on Era, this is a good way to learn how events work :D
  22.
  23. Each event is going to be listed in alphabetical order, after the beginner information. for
  24. a quick-search, look in the table of contents. you may also easily transport to each section
  25. (did you notice them above?) by hitting ctrl+f and typing that section in.

  61. III. Beginner information -- how to host! [SECTION3]
  62. So, you've just become an ET. congratulations! This means you have a few simple things to do before
  63. you can host an event.
  64.
  65. First, the command to put on your tag is /et . All you do is type that in, and your tag is automatically
  66. put on.
  67. ---IMPORTANT---
  68. You only have to do this ONCE. New ETs, after putting on your tag, type /eventsystem, then reconnect. This
  69. Gives you the weapon (invisible) that allows you to host events.
  70.
  71.
  72. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73. Now that you have that, you can begin hosting. The basic way to host an event is this:
  74.
  75. click the orb in the events room, and select which event you want. after warping, throw up an event warper like so:
  76.
  77. :event (eventname) (number of players)
  78.
  79. For example, lets say you want to host outbreak
  80. :event Outbreak! -1
  81. now, the -1 refers to unlimited players. This is what you generally use. However, in 16 man spar for example,
  82. :event 16 Man Spar 16
  83. Would be the proper dialogue.
  84. It is technically possible (Although hardly used anymore) to add a -notrials extension.
  85. :event 16 man spar 16 -notrials
  86. Don't use this, really.
  87. Generally, a player calls the event 3 times, the final time indicating that it is a final call (optional).
  88. When you are ready for the event to start, type :endevent. this will close the event warper.
  89.
  90. REMEMBER THAT THE WARPER APPEARS WHERE YOU ARE STANDING. keep this in mind. when you type :event whatever,
  91. where you stand is where people will appear.
  92.
  93. When the event is over, there will be a winner! For most events, you have to give them an EC. To do this, there
  94. are two ways. The simplest is to right-click the player, go to EventWinner, and click that option.
  95. The other, slightly more lengthy thing to do is type
  96. :eventwinner (account name) 1 -- for example :eventwinner Scoper 1.
  97. This is technically what right clicking does, but thats a timesaver.
  98.
  99. when an event is done, type leave, and you will be warped back to the events room
  100. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  101.
  102. Other useful event commands and tips ---
  103.
  104. :eventmsg (message) will send out a message to all players on Era. Use with caution!
  105.
  106. :healall will heal all players in an event.
  107.
  108. in certain levels you can type :updatelevel to type it
  109.
  110. You can right click on a player to kick them, it is an option.
  111.
  112. :gather (account) will gather a player to most events, in case of emergency
  113.
  114. :lms and :pkarena work in most PK events as a quick alternative to rehosting an event with low surviving player
  115. numbers.
  116.
  117. Staff boots work as follows:
  118. Hold shift and move for boots
  119. Clicking left and right mouse buttons together will warp you to where the mouse is
  120. holding down middle mouse button will drag you around by your mouse
  121.
  122. Taking advantage of the ET control panel -- In some events, if you hold control and click somewhere on the screen,
  123. a blue control GUI will come up with many useful commands. This also applies if you click on a player in certain
  124. events -- a blue GUI will come up with commands for this specific player.
  125. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  126.
  127.
  128. IV. Basic ET rules [SECTION4]
  129. These are general rules most ETAs will enforce (I would hope) please note these are subject to change without notice
  130.
  131. -No more than 1 ET on tag at a time (unless trainees are being trained)
  132. -NEVER MASS MESSAGE ON ET TAG unless absolutely required
  133. -Do not abuse the :eventmsg system
  134. -Obey the lag limit! as of now, it is 360 ms(kick players from events who are over it)
  135. -Do not host the same event shortly after you have hosted it (a good rule might be 4 events in between the same one)
  136. -Do not use your boots to interfere with events! sit on the sidelines.
  137. -Do not idle on ET tag (this can easily get you fired)
  138. -only give out one EC at a time, unless otherwise specified (for example KOTH)
  139. -do not come in and interrupt someone elses events. If you aren't hosting, you can play, but thats all
  140. -Respect the players, they're the people you host for, even if they don't respect you back
  141. -Do not host events that aren't listed unless you have permission from the ETA or other high ranking admin
  142. -If you HAVE to leave in the middle of an event, try to get another ET to take over
  143. -Don't host biased events. Be fair in all that you do
  144. -If you need more hosting ECs, contact the ETA, AETA, or a high ranking admin through mail message or PM

  159. V. Events [SECTION5]
  160.
  161. Here's how this section works. After the table of contents (which you can use to quicksearch. remember ctrl+f), each
  162. event will have a bio, a commands list, and a tips/ warnings section
  163.
  164. Note that these are the way they appear on the eventwarper list. I am fully aware some of these are not in alphabetical
  165. order. You can blame whatever fool made this order up.
  166.
  167. Also, not ALL POSSIBLE commands appear in these guides. that is because some are useless, or impractical. So this guide
  168. has phased them out.
  169.
  170. Events with the - next to them indicate that on the warper, they are prefixed by *NEW* and are at the top of the menu
  171.

  221.
  222.
  223. [E01]Block Race v2
  224.
  225. Bio: Type :start after you have closed the warper. A countdown will appear, when it hits zero, everyone is warped
  226. inside of the race. Whoever crosses the finish line first is given an EC, after being warped into the winners box.
  227. You can type :restart to clear the players if something goes wrong. There is also a timer mode, I would recommend
  228. not using it, because it is difficult to win, given a time limit
  229.
  230. Commands: :start, :restart
  231.
  232. Tips/Warnings: The boxes in this race are clientside. Not everyone sees the boxes in the same location.
  233.
  234.
  235.
  236.
  237. [E02]Battle Royale
  238.
  239. Bio: After opening the warper, you need to decide how many teams you want. this can be accomplished through typing
  240. :team #, where # is a number 2-4. Type :defaultxy, :select teams, then :sort. Everyone should be in their boxes.
  241. either use :arena # or :barena # to choose an arena. then, type :arenaxy. Now, if you type :sort again, everyone should
  242. be in the main arena, with their teams selected. type :start, and then :pk when the timer runs to 0, and you're good to go.
  243.
  244. Commands: :team #, :arena #/:barena #, :select teams, :sort, :defaultxy, :arenaxy, :start, :pk
  245.
  246. Tips/Warnings: Hosting this can be VERY CONFUSING to new ETs. just..chill a little, follow the guide, and everything will be ok.
  247. If something goes awry, improvise. You're supposed to be smart!
  248.
  249.
  250.
  251.
  252. [E03]Battle Royale v2 ------BROKEN
  253.
  254. Bio:
  255. Commands:
  256. Tips/Warnings: this event is not only broken, but the warper turns you back to unstick. must fix.
  257.
  258.
  259.
  260.
  261. [E04]Block Race
  262.
  263. Bio: This event is very simple. You type :start, a counter counts down, and when it hits zero, people
  264. may start the race. Whoever reaches the end first wins
  265.
  266. Commands: :start
  267.
  268. Tips/Warnings: Simple as it may be, this is a long event, so be patient
  269.
  270.
  271.
  272.
  273. [E05]Bush Race
  274.
  275. Bio: There are only 11 rows, so make sure you have only 11 players. When you have as many players as
  276. desired, close the warper, and type :unlock. This will open the gate. When everyone is in their row,
  277. type :lock to re-lock the gate, and then type :ready. The event will start on its own. Winner is warped to a
  278. box and gets EC
  279. Commands: :unlock, :lock, :ready
  280.
  281. Tips/Warnings: Only let one person be in a lane! if people are trying to screw around and abuse this, just kick them.
  282. After politely warning them, of course.
  283. It is possible for people to lag their way through some of the bushes in the second level. It is up to you how to
  284. deal with this. You could institute the lag limit, not care, or just kick them. Your call
  285.
  286. PLAYERS MUST NOT HAVE A GUN EQUIPPED WHEN THEY ENTER THE LEVEL, OR THEY MUST LEAVE. it wont let them deselect it.
  287.
  288.
  289.
  290. [E06]Capture the Flag
  291.
  292. Bio: First off, always type :map 1. If you don't, the game will bitch you out. use :select teams and :sort to create
  293. and sort teams. After using :team numbers to make sure the teams are even, type :open map. Make sure all players go into
  294. the event (this can be confusing for new players. They must walk into the NPC). type :in to warp yourself into the event,
  295. and type :out to warp yourself outside the Flag building. When the event is done, type :back to warp back to the CTF room,
  296. and :clear game. When the playercount gets low, you may institute an LMS
  297.
  298. Commands: :map 1, :select teams, :sort, :team numbers, :open map, :in/:out, :back, :clear game, :lms
  299.
  300. Tips/Warnings: If raider win, people have differing ideas on what to do with the defenders. It is up to the ET to make the call
  301. to kick or keep them.
  302. This event is known for laming. Keep an eye out.
  303.
  304.
  305.
  306.
  307. [E07]Car Race
  308.
  309. Bio: When you have enough people, type :start. A countdown will begin, when it hits 0, the start line will disappear and cars will
  310. race. Type :end to warp to the end of the level if you like. Whoever crosses first gets an EC
  311.
  312. Commands: :start, :end
  313.
  314. Tips/Warnings: This, because it involves a car, seems to be a very unpopular event.
  315.
  316.
  317.
  318.
  319. [E08]Chance!
  320.
  321. Bio: Type :open to open the boxes, and let players run around. when the walls close, grab the middle box in to see which box is selected.
  322. Then, type :box #, where # is the number your box selected, to kick that particular box of people. The last remaining person gets an EC.
  323.
  324. Commands: :open, :box #
  325.
  326. Tips/Warnings: People try to cheat by standing in the walls after they close, because you can from there move to two boxes. If you
  327. notice this happening, warn the person, make them move. If they persist, kick them.
  328. If all remaining players are in the same box, use :open again, and kindly tell them to move, or nobody gets an EC :)
  329.
  330.
  331.
  332. [E09]Crab Wrestling
  333.
  334. Bio: For normal crab wrestling, you simply type :allin. The last surviving crab wins. For team crab wrestling (I advise against
  335. playing this mode) type :select teams, then :allin.
  336.
  337. Commands: :allin, :select teams
  338.
  339. Tips/Warnings: this event soometimes glitches, to where one player warped in will be outside of the box, and not be able to participate
  340.
  341.
  342.
  343. [E10]Explosive Chance
  344.
  345. Bio: When the event starts, type :open and people will run around. When the walls close, grab the middle box, and press the button representing
  346. the number it shows. last remaining player wins.
  347.
  348. Commands: :open
  349.
  350. Tips/Warnings: In boxes 1 and 3, there is currently a bug allowing players near the walls to not take damage. make sure they are
  351. near the middle of the box
  352. If you press the button too quickly in succession, it is possible to avoid damage. Press the button twice, but slowly
  353.
  354.
  355.
  356. [E11]FC16 Spar
  357.
  358. Bio: Host the event for 16 people, with the warper in the first participant's seat. When people are done joining, type :seats
  359. to sort them all. Then, type :in and click on the first two players in order. When the players are ready, type :start to start the spar.
  360. continue this cycle until only one player is left.
  361.
  362. Commands: :seats, :in, :start
  363.
  364. Tips/Warnings: Sometimes this event will glitch, and the blocks in the spar arena will not come up. Be wary
  365.
  366.
  367.
  368. [E12]FC40 Spar (RUSSIAN ROULETTE)
  369.
  370. Bio: Before you open the warper, type :pk off so that players dont kill each other. Then, create a warper inside the middle box.
  371. When enough players have joined, end the event and type :seats a few times. This is how you play russian roulette:
  372. You type :in, grab 2 or 3 players, and have them type /suicide2. If they pass, they move on, and if they lose, then they are kicked.
  373. There is a log on the bottom-right corner that shows whether a player passes or loses, in case they try to cheat. Typing :seats
  374. will put everyone back in their seats. Explain the rules to everyone before they begin. Also, when there are two or three players left
  375. (the last round) you do not kick both people if they both lose. You HAVE to wait until a winner appears.
  376.
  377. Commands: :pk off, :seats, /suicide2
  378.
  379. Tips/Warnings: Sometimes :seats will glitch and not put everyone in their seats. simply type it multiple times.
  380.
  381.
  382.
  383. [E13]-Free PK
  384.
  385. Bio: This is like ULMS but smaller. Put the warper in the middle of the arena. You can use arena# (no space between them, # being 1-4)
  386. to change the arena level. :pk and :no pk toggle whether it is pk or not. :tags off will remove playertags if needed. For a clearer
  387. arena, type :hidetrash.
  388.
  389. Commands: :arena#, :pk, :no pk, :tags off, :hidetrash
  390.
  391. Tips/Warnings: This is barely hosted..What a shame
  392.
  393.
  394.
  395. [E14]Gas Chamber
  396.
  397. Bio: To host this, open the warper in the top area. When enough players have joined, heal everyone, and type :allin.
  398. You need to move to the control box with staff boots, and decide which buttons to press.
  399. General style is as follows: Be heavy with sleep gas, and lightly use the poison, burn, and bullets. Use bombs only
  400. once or twice in the event, and NEVER towards the end. last player standing wins.
  401.
  402. Commands: :allin
  403.
  404. Tips/Warnings: Be careful about people who don't take damage. Also, non-ET members will ask to push the buttons.
  405. THIS IS NOT ALLOWED.
  406.
  407.
  408.
  409. [E15]Gravity Arena
  410.
  411. Bio: This event has many commands, but the main way to host is this: use :teams # to select how many teams you want,
  412. then :select teams to get the players ready. type :defaultxy and :sort to sort the players into their boxes, and then
  413. :arenaxy and :sort to warp the players in. There are more advanced commands, but they are generally not implemented.
  414.
  415. Commands: :teams #, :defaultxy/:arenaxy, :sort
  416.
  417. Tips/Warnings: This is a VERY buggy event
  418.
  419.
  420.
  421. [E16]Gravity Race
  422.
  423. Bio: Open the warper in the top box, where everyone will wait. When the warper is closed, type :start. A countdown will begin,
  424. and when it ends, the floor will disappear, letting everyone fall and allowing the race to begin. The winner ends up in a box
  425. of their own -- You may quickly travel using :goto # (# = 1-3), or just by using staff boots and racing along.
  426.
  427. Commands: :start, :goto #
  428.
  429. Tips/Warnings: Try not to get in people's way
  430.
  431.
  432.
  433. [E17]-Gravity Race v2
  434.
  435. Bio: Host this the exact same way as gravity race. However, this event doesn't have a :goto # command. Just use boots
  436.
  437. Commands: :start
  438.
  439. Tips/Warnings:
  440.
  441.
  442.
  443. [E18]Gravity Race Lobby (Brick race 1&2)
