- Hello! Welcome to the first ever Events Team guide for the Era server.
- This will be the definitive guide on how to host events, useful tips and commands, ET ettiquete, and other things.
- I. Introduction [SECTION1]
- II. Version History [SECTION2]
- III.Beginner Information--How to host! [SECTION3]
- IV. Basic ET rules [SECTION4]
- IV. Event information [SECTION5]
- V. Legal Information & credits. [SECTION6]
- I. Introduction [SECTION1]
- This guide is meant for all players of Era. For people who are ETs, it will be a reference
- guide that can help reinforce your memory, and be a source of information to double check.
- For people who aspire to be ETs someday, this will be a great way to learn a bit about hosting
- before you apply. You can write down you've memorized all of this! (Note that being an ET is
- NOT ALL ABOUT MEMORIZING WORDS. it takes many other skills as well. But this is a decent way
- to start). For new players on Era, this is a good way to learn how events work :D
- Each event is going to be listed in alphabetical order, after the beginner information. for
- a quick-search, look in the table of contents. you may also easily transport to each section
- (did you notice them above?) by hitting ctrl+f and typing that section in.
- II. Version History [SECTION2]
- Version 0.1 June 10, 2011, 1065 words
- -Started guide, added everything you see above here, and the list of events.
- Version 0.2 June 10, 2011, 2114 words
- -Woke up and worked some more stuff. Added descriptions for 9 of the 43 events,
- added more ET rules and tips. Minor tweaks to the introduction
- Version 0.3 June 11, 2011, 2636 words
- -Added how to host events 10-15
- Version 0.5 June 12, 2011, 3666 words
- -Added how to host events 16-32
- Version 0.6 June 15, 2011, 4435 words
- -Finished all events, submitting for editing.
- -Added legal information
- Version 1.0 June 15, 2011, who gives a shit how many words
- Editing finished, first public version uploaded
- III. Beginner information -- how to host! [SECTION3]
- So, you've just become an ET. congratulations! This means you have a few simple things to do before
- you can host an event.
- First, the command to put on your tag is /et . All you do is type that in, and your tag is automatically
- put on.
- ---IMPORTANT---
- You only have to do this ONCE. New ETs, after putting on your tag, type /eventsystem, then reconnect. This
- Gives you the weapon (invisible) that allows you to host events.
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Now that you have that, you can begin hosting. The basic way to host an event is this:
- click the orb in the events room, and select which event you want. after warping, throw up an event warper like so:
- :event (eventname) (number of players)
- For example, lets say you want to host outbreak
- :event Outbreak! -1
- now, the -1 refers to unlimited players. This is what you generally use. However, in 16 man spar for example,
- :event 16 Man Spar 16
- Would be the proper dialogue.
- It is technically possible (Although hardly used anymore) to add a -notrials extension.
- :event 16 man spar 16 -notrials
- Don't use this, really.
- Generally, a player calls the event 3 times, the final time indicating that it is a final call (optional).
- When you are ready for the event to start, type :endevent. this will close the event warper.
- REMEMBER THAT THE WARPER APPEARS WHERE YOU ARE STANDING. keep this in mind. when you type :event whatever,
- where you stand is where people will appear.
- When the event is over, there will be a winner! For most events, you have to give them an EC. To do this, there
- are two ways. The simplest is to right-click the player, go to EventWinner, and click that option.
- The other, slightly more lengthy thing to do is type
- :eventwinner (account name) 1 -- for example :eventwinner Scoper 1.
- This is technically what right clicking does, but thats a timesaver.
- when an event is done, type leave, and you will be warped back to the events room
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Other useful event commands and tips ---
- :eventmsg (message) will send out a message to all players on Era. Use with caution!
- :healall will heal all players in an event.
- in certain levels you can type :updatelevel to type it
- You can right click on a player to kick them, it is an option.
- :gather (account) will gather a player to most events, in case of emergency
- :lms and :pkarena work in most PK events as a quick alternative to rehosting an event with low surviving player
- numbers.
- Staff boots work as follows:
- Hold shift and move for boots
- Clicking left and right mouse buttons together will warp you to where the mouse is
- holding down middle mouse button will drag you around by your mouse
- Taking advantage of the ET control panel -- In some events, if you hold control and click somewhere on the screen,
- a blue control GUI will come up with many useful commands. This also applies if you click on a player in certain
- events -- a blue GUI will come up with commands for this specific player.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- IV. Basic ET rules [SECTION4]
- These are general rules most ETAs will enforce (I would hope) please note these are subject to change without notice
- -No more than 1 ET on tag at a time (unless trainees are being trained)
- -NEVER MASS MESSAGE ON ET TAG unless absolutely required
- -Do not abuse the :eventmsg system
- -Obey the lag limit! as of now, it is 360 ms(kick players from events who are over it)
- -Do not host the same event shortly after you have hosted it (a good rule might be 4 events in between the same one)
- -Do not use your boots to interfere with events! sit on the sidelines.
- -Do not idle on ET tag (this can easily get you fired)
- -only give out one EC at a time, unless otherwise specified (for example KOTH)
- -do not come in and interrupt someone elses events. If you aren't hosting, you can play, but thats all
- -Respect the players, they're the people you host for, even if they don't respect you back
- -Do not host events that aren't listed unless you have permission from the ETA or other high ranking admin
- -If you HAVE to leave in the middle of an event, try to get another ET to take over
- -Don't host biased events. Be fair in all that you do
- -If you need more hosting ECs, contact the ETA, AETA, or a high ranking admin through mail message or PM
- V. Events [SECTION5]
- Here's how this section works. After the table of contents (which you can use to quicksearch. remember ctrl+f), each
- event will have a bio, a commands list, and a tips/ warnings section
- Note that these are the way they appear on the eventwarper list. I am fully aware some of these are not in alphabetical
- order. You can blame whatever fool made this order up.
- Also, not ALL POSSIBLE commands appear in these guides. that is because some are useless, or impractical. So this guide
- has phased them out.
- Events with the - next to them indicate that on the warper, they are prefixed by *NEW* and are at the top of the menu

- [E43]Water Race
- [E44]Water Race v2
- -------------------------------------
- [E01]Block Race v2
- Bio: Type :start after you have closed the warper. A countdown will appear, when it hits zero, everyone is warped
- inside of the race. Whoever crosses the finish line first is given an EC, after being warped into the winners box.
- You can type :restart to clear the players if something goes wrong. There is also a timer mode, I would recommend
- not using it, because it is difficult to win, given a time limit
- Commands: :start, :restart
- Tips/Warnings: The boxes in this race are clientside. Not everyone sees the boxes in the same location.
- [E02]Battle Royale
- Bio: After opening the warper, you need to decide how many teams you want. this can be accomplished through typing
- :team #, where # is a number 2-4. Type :defaultxy, :select teams, then :sort. Everyone should be in their boxes.
- either use :arena # or :barena # to choose an arena. then, type :arenaxy. Now, if you type :sort again, everyone should
- be in the main arena, with their teams selected. type :start, and then :pk when the timer runs to 0, and you're good to go.
- Commands: :team #, :arena #/:barena #, :select teams, :sort, :defaultxy, :arenaxy, :start, :pk
- Tips/Warnings: Hosting this can be VERY CONFUSING to new ETs. just..chill a little, follow the guide, and everything will be ok.
- If something goes awry, improvise. You're supposed to be smart!
- [E03]Battle Royale v2 ------BROKEN
- Bio:
- Commands:
- Tips/Warnings: this event is not only broken, but the warper turns you back to unstick. must fix.
- [E04]Block Race
- Bio: This event is very simple. You type :start, a counter counts down, and when it hits zero, people
- may start the race. Whoever reaches the end first wins
- Commands: :start
- Tips/Warnings: Simple as it may be, this is a long event, so be patient
- [E05]Bush Race
- Bio: There are only 11 rows, so make sure you have only 11 players. When you have as many players as
- desired, close the warper, and type :unlock. This will open the gate. When everyone is in their row,
- type :lock to re-lock the gate, and then type :ready. The event will start on its own. Winner is warped to a
- box and gets EC
- Commands: :unlock, :lock, :ready
- Tips/Warnings: Only let one person be in a lane! if people are trying to screw around and abuse this, just kick them.
- After politely warning them, of course.
- It is possible for people to lag their way through some of the bushes in the second level. It is up to you how to
- deal with this. You could institute the lag limit, not care, or just kick them. Your call
- PLAYERS MUST NOT HAVE A GUN EQUIPPED WHEN THEY ENTER THE LEVEL, OR THEY MUST LEAVE. it wont let them deselect it.
- [E06]Capture the Flag
- Bio: First off, always type :map 1. If you don't, the game will bitch you out. use :select teams and :sort to create
- and sort teams. After using :team numbers to make sure the teams are even, type :open map. Make sure all players go into
- the event (this can be confusing for new players. They must walk into the NPC). type :in to warp yourself into the event,
- and type :out to warp yourself outside the Flag building. When the event is done, type :back to warp back to the CTF room,
- and :clear game. When the playercount gets low, you may institute an LMS
- Commands: :map 1, :select teams, :sort, :team numbers, :open map, :in/:out, :back, :clear game, :lms
- Tips/Warnings: If raider win, people have differing ideas on what to do with the defenders. It is up to the ET to make the call
- to kick or keep them.
- This event is known for laming. Keep an eye out.
- [E07]Car Race
- Bio: When you have enough people, type :start. A countdown will begin, when it hits 0, the start line will disappear and cars will
- race. Type :end to warp to the end of the level if you like. Whoever crosses first gets an EC
- Commands: :start, :end
- Tips/Warnings: This, because it involves a car, seems to be a very unpopular event.
- [E08]Chance!
- Bio: Type :open to open the boxes, and let players run around. when the walls close, grab the middle box in to see which box is selected.
- Then, type :box #, where # is the number your box selected, to kick that particular box of people. The last remaining person gets an EC.
- Commands: :open, :box #
- Tips/Warnings: People try to cheat by standing in the walls after they close, because you can from there move to two boxes. If you
- notice this happening, warn the person, make them move. If they persist, kick them.
- If all remaining players are in the same box, use :open again, and kindly tell them to move, or nobody gets an EC :)
- [E09]Crab Wrestling
- Bio: For normal crab wrestling, you simply type :allin. The last surviving crab wins. For team crab wrestling (I advise against
- playing this mode) type :select teams, then :allin.
- Commands: :allin, :select teams
- Tips/Warnings: this event soometimes glitches, to where one player warped in will be outside of the box, and not be able to participate
- [E10]Explosive Chance
- Bio: When the event starts, type :open and people will run around. When the walls close, grab the middle box, and press the button representing
- the number it shows. last remaining player wins.
- Commands: :open
- Tips/Warnings: In boxes 1 and 3, there is currently a bug allowing players near the walls to not take damage. make sure they are
- near the middle of the box
- If you press the button too quickly in succession, it is possible to avoid damage. Press the button twice, but slowly
- [E11]FC16 Spar
- Bio: Host the event for 16 people, with the warper in the first participant's seat. When people are done joining, type :seats
- to sort them all. Then, type :in and click on the first two players in order. When the players are ready, type :start to start the spar.
- continue this cycle until only one player is left.
- Commands: :seats, :in, :start
- Tips/Warnings: Sometimes this event will glitch, and the blocks in the spar arena will not come up. Be wary
- [E12]FC40 Spar (RUSSIAN ROULETTE)
- Bio: Before you open the warper, type :pk off so that players dont kill each other. Then, create a warper inside the middle box.
- When enough players have joined, end the event and type :seats a few times. This is how you play russian roulette:
- You type :in, grab 2 or 3 players, and have them type /suicide2. If they pass, they move on, and if they lose, then they are kicked.
- There is a log on the bottom-right corner that shows whether a player passes or loses, in case they try to cheat. Typing :seats
- will put everyone back in their seats. Explain the rules to everyone before they begin. Also, when there are two or three players left
- (the last round) you do not kick both people if they both lose. You HAVE to wait until a winner appears.
- Commands: :pk off, :seats, /suicide2
- Tips/Warnings: Sometimes :seats will glitch and not put everyone in their seats. simply type it multiple times.
- [E13]-Free PK
- Bio: This is like ULMS but smaller. Put the warper in the middle of the arena. You can use arena# (no space between them, # being 1-4)
- to change the arena level. :pk and :no pk toggle whether it is pk or not. :tags off will remove playertags if needed. For a clearer
- arena, type :hidetrash.
- Commands: :arena#, :pk, :no pk, :tags off, :hidetrash
- Tips/Warnings: This is barely hosted..What a shame
- [E14]Gas Chamber
- Bio: To host this, open the warper in the top area. When enough players have joined, heal everyone, and type :allin.
- You need to move to the control box with staff boots, and decide which buttons to press.
- General style is as follows: Be heavy with sleep gas, and lightly use the poison, burn, and bullets. Use bombs only
- once or twice in the event, and NEVER towards the end. last player standing wins.
- Commands: :allin
- Tips/Warnings: Be careful about people who don't take damage. Also, non-ET members will ask to push the buttons.
- THIS IS NOT ALLOWED.
- [E15]Gravity Arena
- Bio: This event has many commands, but the main way to host is this: use :teams # to select how many teams you want,
- then :select teams to get the players ready. type :defaultxy and :sort to sort the players into their boxes, and then
- :arenaxy and :sort to warp the players in. There are more advanced commands, but they are generally not implemented.
- Commands: :teams #, :defaultxy/:arenaxy, :sort
- Tips/Warnings: This is a VERY buggy event
- [E16]Gravity Race
- Bio: Open the warper in the top box, where everyone will wait. When the warper is closed, type :start. A countdown will begin,
- and when it ends, the floor will disappear, letting everyone fall and allowing the race to begin. The winner ends up in a box
- of their own -- You may quickly travel using :goto # (# = 1-3), or just by using staff boots and racing along.
- Commands: :start, :goto #
- Tips/Warnings: Try not to get in people's way
- [E17]-Gravity Race v2
- Bio: Host this the exact same way as gravity race. However, this event doesn't have a :goto # command. Just use boots
- Commands: :start
- Tips/Warnings:
- [E18]Gravity Race Lobby (Brick race 1&2)
- Bio: Upon selecting this event, you'll notice it's actually the warper to Brick Race 1 and 2. You will be warped inside
- a lobby, and need to type :brick race 1 or :brick race 2 to go to each respective room. They're hosted the exact same way
- as gravity race, and have a :back command if you want to go back one room.
- Commands: :brick race 1, :brick race 2, :start, :back
- Tips/Warnings:
- [E19]-Hidden Paths
- Bio: This event is hosted much like any other race. Simply type :start, and then use yoru staff boots to go up two or three
- levels to the end. Do not go near the winners box.
- Commands: :start
- Tips/Warnings: ITS DARK
- [E20]Knockout!
- Bio: Host the warper in the bottom area. Type :stage 1, then :start when ready. When the timer hits zero, everone will be warped
- in and start beating the hell out of each other. When a person is knocked out, they warp back down. If it appears that nobody else
- is going to be knocked out (many players have already fallen out) type :stage 2. Likewise, when this happens again, type :stage 3.
- Give the last remaining player an EC
- Commands: :stage #, :start, :stop
- Tips/Warnings: if two people knock each other out, you may have to flip a coin or rehost to solve this problem. It's happened.
- [E21]-Ladder Race
- Bio: This event is currently broken for mac users. However, you simply set up the warper in the lobby area and type :start when ready.
- The race proceeds like any other.
- Commands: :start
- Tips/Warnings: Watch out for skateboard users.
- [E22]Laser Tag
- Bio: use :select teams to set up teams, and :sort to put them where they go. After using :team numbers to make sure the teams
- are even, type :setlevel # (# between 1 and 6 i believe) to select the level. When ready, type :start game. To start the next
- round, you must type :back, which will warp you to the lobby, and :clear game.
- Commands: :select teams, :sort, :team numbers, :setlevel #, :start game, :back, :clear game
- Tips/Warnings: Use :setlevel 2 when playercount gets low
- [E23]Last Man Standing/ ULMS
- Bio: For LMS, open a warper, and when it's done, type :arena 1, :healall, :tags off, and :start. When the timer hits 0,
- quickly type :pk. Last person standing (obviously) wins. For ULMS, open a warper, type :pk, and leave the warper open for
- as long as you want.
- Commands: :arena #, :healall, :tags off, :start, :pk
- Tips/Warnings: NO EC FOR ULMS. Also watch out for people who use weapons they shouldnt. And people who abuse tags.
- [E24]Lucky Grab
- Bio: When the warper is closed, type :down to make all the players go down and grab a block. If they refuse, type
- :timer. At the end of the 5 seconds, anyone who hasn't grabbed a block is kicked.
- Commands: :down, :timer
- Tips/Warnings: If nobody wins (everyone is kicked in the last round) you may redo the event up to 2 times.
- [E25]Mars
- Bio: Send out a mass message or :eventmsg saying you need people for mars. use :gather to get at least 5 people.
- Decide who is going to be the king, and who is going to be the controller. Type :opencostume and let people select
- their outfits. then, type :marsall, and everyone will have a mars tag. Use :unlock to open the doors, and have them
- run off somewhere. There are two ways to host mars from here:
- Kill the king! Use :killalert (account of the king), and wait for the king to die. Then type :gathermars, :unmarsall,
- gather the winner, and give them EC
- Controller, then king! :killalert the controller. When he dies, close the warper and stop letting aliens respawn, while
- using :killalert on the king. When the king dies, repeat the process in the Kill the King! section.
- Commands: :opencostume, :closecostume, :marsall, :unmarsall, :unlock, :lock, :killalert Account
- Tips/Warnings: ALIENS CANNOT LEAVE THE MARS BUILDINGS.
- [E26]Maze Race
- Bio: type :start when you need to. It's like every other race
- Commands: :start
- Tips/Warnings: People that aren't ETs cannot see the whole level
- [E27]Melee fight --DO NOT HOST.
- Bio: Do not host this event. It is unfinished
- Commands:
- Tips/Warnings:
- [E28]Outbreak
- Bio: When you have enough people, close the warper. Type :setroundtime # (in seconds) and :setzombietime # (in seconds). Then
- type :open to start the event. ETs can move objects by holding down mouse where they want it to be, and then double clicking an
- object. You may also type :down and :up to move up and down the outside of the building. Finally, in case of emergency, you may type
- :zombie and click on someone to zombify them
- Commands: :setroundtime #, :setzombietime #, :down, :up, :zombie, warp things by holding mouse then double clicking
- Tips/Warnings: Multiple rounds is recommended. There is an elimination mode, make sure it is set to false, as elimination mode
- is currently broken.

- convicts than guards. Type :start, then :timer. When all guards or convicts are dead, type :back and then :restart
- Commands: :sort, :team numbers, :start, :timer, :back, :restart

- send out an :eventmsg saying grab the box at unstick me. For CTF & TDM, open up a warper inside of the lobby, close when ready,
- and :selectteams. Make sure they are even with :teamnumbers (note no spaces), then type :start. For FFA, you may either host
- the warper in the lobby, use :start, or :start and then open the warper inside the arena. It makes no difference.
- Commands: :settings, :start, :selectteams, :teamnumbers
- Tips/Warnings:
- For KOTH, the whole winning team gets EC
- For KOTH, you have to check for idlers. This cannot be done for two of the teams at present.
- For FFA, watch for people abusing party and gang tags.
- in CTF, sometimes after the round people can get stuck in the game (warped back in.) type :cleargame
- [E37]Smusical chairs
- Bio: use :count to find out how many players are inside of the event. Once you know that, type :chairs # (where # is
- one or two less chairs then the players left). To start, type :play. If you want, you can change the music with the :midi command
- (for example, :midi examplemidi.mp3). You need to find an mp3 off the internet --beemp3.com is a good website to do this with.
- Commands: :count, :chairs #, :play, :midi
- Tips/Warnings: Tell players they need to move, or kick them if they do not.
- If two players land on a seat at the same moment, make one of them call heads or tails. then use :flipcoin to decide who is kicked.

- people into the arena. :start needs to be said every time someone dies, until there are no more people on one team
- left alive. Use the :kickdead command to kick the dead people. When one team is exhausted, repeat this process.
