  6. It isn't uncommon for spirits of the Garou ancestors to become spirits that can then preside over a pack, or even a caern. Even kin can sometimes find themselves so suffused with Gnosis that they become one with the spirits when they die. But one fact that more wilderness-inclined Garou find difficult to stomach is the idea that mere, meager humans might also rise as spirits after their deaths. Whether they like that fact or not, there are some human men who, in life, ignited the imagination and wonder of humanity enough to cause Gaia to notice and venerate them in turn. Their contributions to the world are commemorated in the stuff of spirits, and they now exist as beacons of hope to the urban Garou who look up to them in these dark and trying nights.

  8. The legacy of Carl Sagan was such that Gaia gave him new life after death. In the time he was alive, his contributions to humanity's knowledge of the stars and planets, and by extension the Celestines that are well-inclined toward packs that follow him, sparked the imaginations of humans the world over. By the time of his death, he was most well known for being the brains behind numerous unmanned space probes, and for hosting the television show known as Cosmos, which focused on educating its viewers about the world beyond Earth. It is his appearance in Cosmos that he appears in to packs who wish to meet him. Though in his many essays he was critical of the notion of the supernatural, and of the concept of an afterlife, he finds it hard to argue in the face of hard, empirical evidence of the world beyond the Veil, and has accepted his new role. Mr. Sagan primarily patronizes Glass Walkers and more urban Stargazers, though he will speak with any Garou humanity-minded to know of him. Though he won't refuse them if they truly do wish to learn more about humanity and the stars above, he is disconcerted by the single-minded savagery of Red Talons just as many of their number are disgusted that a human man can act as totem. He doesn't refer to the packs he oversees as 'children' like many other spirits do, as he feels such a moniker detracts from their intelligence as adults.

  10. Individual Traits: Any Garou that follows Carl Sagan is granted an additional dot of Intelligence, and is granted a free skill specialty in Science (Astrophysics) regardless of their current dot level. In addition, when a colleague of Mr. Sagan purchases any dots in a Knowledge, they may reduce the experience cost by 1. For Science, they may purchase dots as if their Science score was one dot lower.
  11. Pack Traits: Packs who follow Mr. Sagan may access 3 additional dots of Science per story. Just as well, if a pack who follows Mr. Sagan spends at least an hour contemplating the night sky - be that through meditation, counting stars, or performing amateur astronomical observations, the difficulty of any Willpower roll they make is reduced by one until the next sunset.
  12. Ban: Mr. Sagan is loath to punish his packs for not obeying some mystic geas imparted upon them, but he does ask his packs to continue his work in the living world in some way, be that through bringing awareness of the space beyond the atmosphere, or through helping to advance humanity by aiding efforts to learn more about space travel or the stars.
