[16:30]	Waxx	he gets range time with them and he runs PT with them, and he's a friendly ear to talk to that can pass their concerns up the chain
[16:31]	Waxx	he works out the details and then there are other nameless, faceless people doing the actual training
[16:32]	Waxx	i like to imagine that he has an edge in trust over someone else doing it, like a researcher or someone else
[16:32]	Waxx	he was an agent like them, he knows the work and the costs, but he got high enough to have enough clout for him to go to bat for them in a way others might not

[16:37]	thedeadlymoose	and yeah he'd have clout. Anyone who got that high would have clout. 19 is the Foundation's largest site in this canon too, and even if that weren't the case, he has a /ton/ of personal connections to trade on

[16:39]	Waxx	but if you leave him alone in retirement, he will drink himself to death
[16:40]	thedeadlymoose	Oof. Heh, maybe that's an angle you can take from the POV of people he had definite relationships with, like Clef. "Yeah, Dmitri is retired. He's also just drinking himself to death. He'll hate us for this, but ... yeah, let's bring him in."
