Merron of the Forest, Quarter-Elf Druid (Think Half-Elf, but slightly more human)

The forest always held great allure for Merron Domine. As a woodcutter's son, he was hardly discouraged form spending time in the forest, but his parents often worried about his reluctance to fell trees. As Merron reached adolescence, the atmosphere in the family grew more and more tense, until he finally fled his parents' cottage at 17, never to see them again.
At 19, Merron joined the Circle of Druids. By 21, he knew every twice, every game trail, and every creature in the forest that he was charged with protecting. He was quite content to stay there for the rest of his life, protecting the forest and avoiding all other humanoid life. He managed this for 10 years before events fell into place to change his life.
One autumn morning, he saved a young elven woman within the borders of his forest from superstitious villagers who thought her a witch and blamed her for a recent poor harvest. Eliana Galanodel was her name, and the two hit it off. They quickly realized, however, that there was little between them outside of physical attractions, and she soon walked out of his life forever.
17 years later, their daughter, Laell, walked back into his life. Her mother had been killed by bandits who had continued in pursuit of her. Merron, who had been unaware of her existence, nevertheless promised her protections.
Three days later, Laell was dead, and he had barely escaped the smoldering ruins of his former home with his life.

5'7" (~1.7m), stocky build (for a half elf, anyway, so just sliiiightly over average stockiness compared to a full human), dark brown eyes, black short hair, full beard + accompanying mustache. Slight points to his ears.
