[17:23] <GM||WavemasterRyx> When we last left our heroes, they had just finished curing themselves of a traumatic illness brought on by careless contact with alien species! In a rare display of compassion, Command authorized the team to take a trip back to Equestria for a little R&R.
[17:24] <GM||WavemasterRyx> A few minutes after recieving your stipend for the trip, Destiny drops out of FTL, and the ghoul pony maning the Gate Room console begins dialing.
[17:25] * Swoop trots in with her typical gear: An MP3 player strapped to her leg. "Hell yeah R and R!"
[17:25] * Swept_Wing grins, cracking his neck. "About time we got some."
[17:27] * Astera nods. "Yes, this will be lovely~"
[17:27] * Chameleon is wearing a black shirt and has a lightly filled duffel bag on her back "I can't wait~"
[17:29] <Swoop> "So where are the others? Who's missing?"
[17:30] <Astera> "Im sure they are on their way. Heh, still packing, perhaps."
[17:31] * Swoop also has a small pouch on her other foreleg with her bits in it.
[17:31] * Chameleon put her munnies in a pocket in her bag
[17:31] * Astera has her hoodie on, everything else is crammed into a saddlebag on her back.
[17:32] * Swept_Wing has his wallet, and a backpack/saddlebag, and his Aviators.
[17:34] * Clara doesn't really have much to bring with her. She didn't expect to be going to the beach once she'd gone to space.
[17:34] <GM||WavemasterRyx> The magic portal in the gate explodes outward as it always does once the connection is completed. The unicorn taps a control on his console, "Canterlot Castle, this is Destiny, making our scheduled contact. Crew will be disembarking shortly, please stand by."
[17:35] <Swoop> "That's our cue. Let's hit the sand!"
[17:35] <Swept_Wing> "Wooo!"
[17:36] * Chameleon giggles and wiggles
[17:39] * Swoop waits for the ok to go thru the gate, her wings twitching in anticipation.
[17:41] * Astera just waits casually for the okay to leave. Surely this portal would take them somewhere else, malfuncction porting them too the middle of the sun or something.
[17:42] <GM||WavemasterRyx> The unicorn closes the com channel after he recieves an affirmative back, and turns to you all, "Well, enjoy your vacation. We'll have someone contact you when it's time to return." He gives you a quick salute.
[17:42] * Swept_Wing snaps off a salute back.
[17:42] * Swoop salutes back, then turns to the others. "Hoof it! That beach ain't gonna enjoy itself!!" She then gallops thru the gate.
[17:43] * Chameleon waggles a wing and grins
[17:43] * Chameleon giggles and follows Swoop
[17:44] * Swept_Wing flys after them.
[17:45] * Clara follows the rest of the group. She could use some relaxation.
[17:46] * Astera steps through the gate once everyone else has gone through.
[17:46] * Swoop emerges on the other side.
[17:47] <GM||WavemasterRyx> Even though it lasts for a fraction of a second, somehow the trip through the gate seems to take a little longer. The team emerges on the other side in the middle of the same great, shining hall where they took their trip to Destiny so long ago.
[17:48] * Swoop grins. "Ahh. Non-recycled air! So delicious.
[17:48] <Swoop> "
[17:49] * Swept_Wing grins, landing next to Swoop. "Indeed."
[17:50] <GM||WavemasterRyx> A Royal Guard pegasus approaches, snapping a much crisper salute, "Welcome back to Equestria, Privates. I have been assigned to you for your stay. If there's anything I can do, please let me know."
[17:50] * Astera flaps her wings once as she steps through. Glancing around the room she smiles a little. no place like home..
[17:51] * Chameleon grins and tilts her muzzle up breathing deeply "Feels like forever since I've breathed real equestrian air~:

[17:51] * Swoop salutes back again. "We're actually planning on heading to the beach for most of our stay."
[17:52] * Swept_Wing snaps off his crisp EAF-style salute back at the guard. "Indeed we were."
[17:52] * Swoop has wings that are too big to salute with.
[17:52] * Clara smiles and gives a look around. It feels... nice to be back on Equestria.
[17:52] * Chameleon just waggles a wing in a half-assed salute.
[17:53] <GM||WavemasterRyx> He nods, "An excellent choice, ma'am. The beach is always lovely this time of year, I'm told. If you require transportation, there is a transit hub right outside the Castle proper."
[17:54] <Swoop> "Awesome sauce. Should be all we need then. Anypony else think of anything?"
[17:55] * Astera smirks slightly. For being privates they surely got a proper R&R..
[17:56] <Chameleon> "Some actual food would be nice."
[17:56] <Chameleon> "The mess hall is awesome, but still."
[17:56] <Swoop> "OO! Good point!"
[17:57] <Astera> "SOmethint to sate the thirst on the beach would be a good idea too." She mumbles
[17:57] * Swept_Wing nods in agreement. He looks over at Swoop. "You wanna see if Mom and Dad are in Baltimare? They make the best damn food."
[17:58] <Swoop> "Hey, yeah! Good call! We'll go to mom n dad's place for food!"
[18:00] <GM||WavemasterRyx> The stallion just stays back to let you decide what you want, casually listening to the conversation.
[18:00] <Swoop> "Sound okay to everypony?"
[18:01] * Chameleon shrugs "Sounds nice!"
[18:03] * Clara just kinda wants to get to the beach so she can find a nice spot to relax. "I do not mind, as long as we hurry."
[18:04] <Swoop> "Well then, my good stallion, a ride is all we need!"
[18:04] <Swept_Wing> "Well, Horseshoe Bay is near Mom and Dad's house, so we can head over there."
[18:04] <Chameleon> "Oh relax Clara. We're home!"
[18:05] * Swoop nods, then starts out to the transit hub. "Then that's where we're going. You can find us there when it's time."
[18:07] <GM||WavemasterRyx> The stallion nods and trots along with you to the hub, "Very well. I have your tags registered, and I added mine to your PipBucks, so you'll be able to contact me if you need to."
[18:08] * Swoop grins. "Sounds good."
[18:08] * Swept_Wing nods. "Or you can tag along if you'd like."
[18:09] <Chameleon> "Wonderful~"
[18:09] <Swoop> "There /is/ that option. Mom n dad won't mind."
[18:10] <GM||WavemasterRyx> The castle is just as busy as you all remember. Ponies everywhere going about their daily lives, even a few waiting to use the Gate after your connection closes. The guard nods, "Thank you, sir. I will be accompanying you to the Baltimare Hub, but I will just be waiting there."
[18:11] <Chameleon> "Awww."
[18:13] <Swoop> "Seriously? Just waiting for us?"
[18:13] <Chameleon> "Come ooooon! Come with us!"
[18:13] * Swept_Wing frowns. "If only I still had my EAF rank I could order you to come eat with us." He grins.
[18:15] <GM||WavemasterRyx> He nods, shrugging a little as he trots along, "Waiting is part of my job, m'am. If you insist, I join you, it's not against protocol, but I am meant merely to insure that your vacation is comfortable, and not to interfere unduly."
[18:16] <Swoop> "Well, there ya go. You're coming along on a mini-vacation."
[18:16] <Chameleon> "You were assigned to us so it's the least we could do for you."
[18:16] * Chameleon giggles
[18:16] <Chameleon> "It'd be no fun if you had to watch from the sidelines!"
[18:16] * Swept_Wing nods. "Yes indeed."

[18:23] * Swept_Wing takes to the air, pushing up his Aviators as they went along.
[18:23] * Swoop glances about. "So... which direction is the transport hub?"
[18:23] * Astera just follows the group~
[18:24] * Clara is in her pegasus form, flying up above the rest as they go.
[18:25] <GM||WavemasterRyx> The guard nods down the street, and though it isn't labled, you can see the transit hub a short distance away, lit up from the inside by various magic portals flashing open and closed, "Right that way, ma'am."
[18:25] * Chameleon trots towards the transit hub happily
[18:25] * High_Hopes ([email protected]) Quit ( Ping timeout: 121 seconds )
[18:26] * Swoop flaps her wings and lifts off, heading in the direction of the hub. "So how long you been a guard? And, come to think of it, what's your name?"
[18:28] <GM||WavemasterRyx> There's a lot of ponies at the hub, though the line appears to be going very quickly. The stallion turns to Swoop, "Guard Sterling, ma'am. I've been serving our royal highnesses for five years now."
[18:29] <Swoop> "Stationed in Canterlot the entire time?"
[18:29] <GM||WavemasterRyx> "Yes, ma'am."
[18:30] <Swoop> "Were you born here?"
[18:34] <GM||WavemasterRyx> "No, ma'am. I was born in Los Pegasus." The flashes continue as the portals open and close. Already ponies have moved through enough that there's room to step inside the building, giving a clear view of the multiple levels where portals are set up. There's a central information kiosk, though there's a line for that too.
[18:35] * Swoop nods. "I've never been there. So which portal's ours?"
[18:36] * Swept_Wing nods. "Los Pegasus eh? Fun times, fun times."
[18:36] * Swept_Wing has been there several times with his pilot buddies.
[18:37] * Clara is watching the guard idly as she flies, listening to the story
[18:38] <GM||WavemasterRyx> Sterling indicates one of the portals on the ground floor where the line is shortest, "We can take any of them, actually. They allow you to individually select destinations." He looks to Swept and nods a little, "Amazing what 200 years will do for rebuilding, huh? You can barely even tell, other than the monument."
[18:39] <Swoop> "Yeah, it's great. Let's get in line then!" She flaps over to the end of the nearest line.
[18:40] * Chameleon fidgets impatiently
[18:40] <GM||WavemasterRyx> [Also retcon to Las Pegasus. One little letter.]
[18:40] * Swept_Wing nods. "Yup, though there's still a few places where it shows. Places where it was so bad it might never be restored fully."
[18:42] <Swoop> "It got real close to going nuclear, didn't it?"

[18:43] <GM||WavemasterRyx> The few groups of ponies ahead of you in line go through the portal quickly. When you finally reach it, Sterling trots up to the controls and spins the dial around until it reads Baltimare, and then he hits the activation button. It takes a few seconds, but then the portal sparks to life, glowing brightly.
[18:45] * Swoop steps thru and...
[18:45] * Swept_Wing follows his sis through.
[18:46] * Clara is right behind as they go through.
[18:47] * High_Hopes scurries into the Gate Room, looking rather frazzled and tired. "S-sorry! S-sorry I'm late!" She says, rushing through the portal after her friends!
[18:48] * Chameleon follows the pretty ponies!
[18:48] * Swoop emerges on the other side. "You're fine, Hopes! Glad you made it!"
[18:50] <GM||WavemasterRyx> It feels very much like travel through the Gate on Destiny, and in the blink of an eye, on going through the portal you find yourselves coming out in a building that looks very similar, portal bays lining the levels that other ponies are exiting.
[18:50] * Swoop sniffs the air, smelling sea salt. "Oh yeah. We're really home now."

[18:52] * Swept_Wing nods, grining. "Ayep! Great to be back!"
[18:53] <Swoop> "So, beach first or food? What's the call?"
[18:54] <Swept_Wing> "How about y'all head to the beach first. I'll head home and tell Mom and Dad we're having dinner there, and catch up with you guys. Sound good?"
[18:55] * High_Hopes just sort of appears with the rest of the ponies. The logs won't open for her player, so she's just gonna wing it. Hopes is doing her best to cover up her tiny, one-piece bathing suit, but to no avail. "I-I w-would like to go the beach..."
[18:55] * Swoop nods. "Oh! Don't tell them about..." She flexes her wings in indication. "They don't know yet."
[18:57] * Swept_Wing nods. "You'll have to tell them yourself then."
[18:58] * Clara nods. "That sounds like a good plan! Beach first, then food!"

[18:59] <Chameleon> "Hmmm. Picnic on the beach sounds good too."
[19:02] * Swept_Wing nods. "Well, I'll go let them know we're here. I'll catch up with you later!"

[19:06] <GM||WavemasterRyx> Sterling nods to Chameleon, "I believe most public beaches have some form of concession stand. You should be able to get something there, if you wish.

[19:08] * Swoop sighs. Breaking news to parents is always tough... "Oh well... BEACH TIME!!"
[19:11] <Swoop> "Come on! I know a great beach that's not to populated!"
[19:11] * Astera wiggels out of her hoodie and stuffs it into he dsaddlebags, quietly following her companions to the beach.
[19:11] * Chameleon prances along after Swoop~
[19:12] * Clara is itching to relax in the sun. She's right behind everypony!
[19:13] * Swoop leads everypony to a semi-secluded area. Concessions aren't too far off, and, as she said, it's not all that populated, having only a few other ponies in the immediate area.
[19:14] * Chameleon squees and hops around in the sand giggling
[19:14] * Swoop pulls a blanket from her saddlebag she was totally wearing. Honestly. "Alright! Vacation is on!"

[19:15] <GM||WavemasterRyx> Sterling follows along after, glancing around casually. The sound of the waves washing up on shore is enough to drown out all but a few of the giggles from the other ponies at the beach.
[19:17] * Swoop takes off her bags and her mp3 player, then suddenly takes to the air and flies out over the water where she folds her wings and dives in.
[19:19] * Chameleon drops her duffel bag besides the blanket Swoop had presumably laid out and pulls off her shirt, digging around in her bags and pulling out a bathing suit and wiggling into it excitedly
[19:24] * Clara smiles and finds a nice spot to relax in the sun.
[19:25] * Astera flops down somewhere closeby on the sand. Unfolding her wings to let them lay down at her sides. She sighs and just relaxes for a bit.
[19:26] * Chameleon scampers out into the water giggling
[19:26] * Swoop comes up for air, gasping. "Oh! That's so nice."
[19:27] <GM||WavemasterRyx> The sky is nice and clear, letting the sun shine down bright and nicely warm over the beach, making the sand and water glisten.
[19:27] * Chameleon is wearing a blue skin (Carapace?) tight one piece bathing suit for the record

[19:56] <GM||WavemasterRyx> Sterling is still standing straight, he glances to Swoop and Chameleon out in the water, "I am relaxed, thank you."

[19:57] <Chameleon> "You're standing like you gots something in your butt!"
[19:57] * Chameleon scampers out of the watter and behind the pegasus "Nope! No stick up your butt!"

[19:59] * Swept chuckles at Camm's antics.
[20:00] <GM||WavemasterRyx> He shifts uneasily, looking back at Chameleon, "I assure you, ma'am, I'm simply looking out for you all." He does give the changeling a soft smile, "It is nice to just be out of the castle a little."
[20:00] * Swoop snerks. "Relaxed right..."
[20:00] <Swoop> "Seriously, come chill with us. We won't tell nopony."
[20:03] * Clara glances over with a grin. "If you like, I could help you relax... we can have an impromptu therapy session! All we need is someplace nice and private..."
[20:03] * Swept climbs out of the water and goes over to Swoop shaking himself dry next to her.
[20:04] * Swoop rolls her eyes. "So how'd the parents take our impending visit?"

[20:09] <Swoop> "Yeah. It's not like we're fresh-from-the-academy recruits, ya know."
[20:11] <GM||WavemasterRyx> Sterling sighs a little, pulling off his helmet and setting it down carefully in the sand before sitting down himself, next to the blanket, "I don't need therapy, but thank you. I'm just following orders."
[20:11] <Swept> "15 years, and he still drills me".
[20:12] <Chameleon> "Well here's new orders! Relax! Have a swim, et cetera!
[20:12] <Swoop> "Dad's never gonna stop being a master sargent, Swept. Just let it go."
[20:16] * Swept nods, chuckling. "Hell, I actually out ranked him in the EAF."
[20:17] * Swoop chuckles as well. "Well, he outranks you in age. Sort of his perogotive."
[20:17] <Swoop> "And Mom outranks everypony."
[20:19] * Clara frowns, and goes back to resting.
[20:20] <Swept> "Indeed. Good old Mom."
[20:21] * Swoop smiles and lays back to relax.
[20:22] * Swept chills next to her.

[20:36] * Chameleon digs a little plastic shovel and bucket out of her bag and starts building sand castles

[20:57] <GM||WavemasterRyx> The guard tips his head to Swoop, "Is it really that crowded on the ship? From what I'd heard it's supposed to be pretty big."

[20:58] <Swoop> "Not so much crowded as cramped.

[20:59] * Clara looks back over. "Sometimes... it's nice to be somewhere open. That's why I like the garden."

[21:04] * Clara mutters, "I just like nature, I suppose."
[21:05] * Chameleon was off in reverie land "What? Oh." She points at herself "Big family, more or less."
[21:05] * Swoop sighs, staring up at the sky.
[21:07] * Chameleon adds another towers to her castle because bitches love towers.
[21:08] * Swept_Wing adjusts his Aviators, sunlight glinting off the lenses.
