  1. Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist Speedrun Guide (User Deck)
  2.
  3. To begin, download the premade savefile that already has every card unlocked (at least the ones we're using) and every duel completed:
  4.
  5. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-rUFlzCFaTlNDZqNFpvVkZIX1E/view
  6.
  7. To use this save, go to your Steam folder on your PC, and go into your userdata folder. You're looking for a folder with a string of numbers in the name. You should have only one, but you may have more if you shared libraries with someone or set up multiple profiles on one computer. Inside that folder, there should be another folder named "480650"; this is your game's folder. Replace the savegame.dat in that folder with the one you downloaded. You're almost ready to begin dueling, now you just need to set up your Exodia Deck!
  8.
  9. Thanks for Ishnisum for providing instructions on how to replace the save file.
  10.
  11. One thing we're going to set up to save a little bit of time is go into the "Help and Options" menu from the Main Menu, and go to "Settings". You should set that to "Pro" to set it up so that you need to hold down the key/button specified to activate certain card effects. It will only disable it for cards that ask you if you want to activate it at every opportunity you can, so it won't mess with many, if any of your cards in this deck.
  12.
  13. Back to the main menu, go to "Deck Edit". On the next screen, select an empty slot on the left, and at the bottom left of the screen, select "Empty Deck", select yes, and name your deck. In the bottom left corner, select "Filter", and choose "Name". From there, you can begin adding cards!
  14.
  15. Here are the following cards you will need, along with the card descriptions, as well as their application in the speedrun.
  16.
  17. 1. Allure of Darkness x3
  18.
  19. This card allows you to draw 2 cards, and then banish one Dark monster from your hand, but you end up sending your entire hand to your graveyard if you don't have any Dark monsters in your hand. This is pretty useful if you have multiple copies of an Exodia piece in your hand.
  20.
  21. 2. Graceful Charity x3
  22.
  23. Draw three cards, and then discard two. Those two cards are limited to your whole hand, not just the three you drew. Useful for both getting Exodia pieces, and other cards to let you draw more cards.
  24.
  25. 3. One Day of Peace x3
  26.
  27. Each player draws one card, and neither player can take damage until the end of the opponent's turn. This is useful for getting the ball rolling on drawing cards, and can also keep you from dying if the duel is taking a while and your opponent has monsters set up ready to defeat you.
  28.
  29.
  30. 4. Painful Choice x2
  31.
  32. Select five cards from your deck and show them to your opponent. Your opponent selects 1 card among them. Add that card to your hand and send the rest to the grave yard. This card is for a bit of RNG manipulation. For whatever reason, if you choose four spell cards and one monster, the AI will choose the monster. This is a really useful card for getting the final Exodia piece you need to win the duel and should be saved for last if possible.
  33.
  34. 5. Painful Decision x1
  35.
  36. Send a level four or lower Normal monster from your deck to the graveyard, and add a card with the same name from your deck to your hand. This card is used to try to thin your deck out when looking for Exodia pieces. This is good if you have this card in your hand and need to draw the last Exodia limb you need, and is faster than Painful Choice, meaning if you already have a head, you can use this to get the limb because you don't have to select four other cards to toss.
  37.
  38. 6. Pot of Greed x3
  39.
  40. Draw two cards. Extremely useful card, you're basically getting two cards for the price of one, and it's really useful for getting the ball rolling on drawing Exodia pieces.
  41.
  42. 7. Upstart Goblin x3
  43.
  44. Draw one card, then your opponent gains 1000 Life Points. Useful to try to get Exodia pieces, but more useful to get more drawing cards. (In my opinion, at least.)
  45.
  46. 8. Wonder Wand x3
  47.
  48. You can equip this card to Spellcaster-type monsters. The monster gains 500 ATK but we're not interested in that. It has another effect that you can activate; by sending both it, and the monster it's equipped to, to the graveyard, you can draw two cards. This synergizes really well with two of the cards we also have in our deck which let us pick a card from our deck and add it to our hand, getting us two random cards from the top of our deck, and letting us choose what the third card will be. You can also equip this to a spare Exodia piece if you're feeling lucky, but you will only get the two cards from the top of your deck.
  49.
  50. 9. Left Arm/Right Arm/Left Leg/Right Leg/Exodia the Forbidden One x3
  51.
  52. The whole purpose of this deck. Holding all five pieces of Exodia in your hand wins you the duel, and the other cards in the deck focus on drawing cards to get the pieces as quickly as possible. Having 3 of each helps because it increases the chances of drawing an Exodia piece, but can be annoying because it also increases the chance of drawing a duplicate piece.
  53.
  54. 10. Blue Dragon Summoner x1
  55.
  56. If this card is sent from the field to the graveyard, you can add a Dragon, Warrior, or Spellcaster-Type normal monster to from your deck to your hand. You can either play this and attack a stronger monster to send it to the graveyard and draw any limb of Exodia, but it's better to combo it with Wonder Wand to get three cards out of the use of the monster instead of just one. Just go with one because it's not useful for getting the head of Exodia, only limbs. It's also more useful to wait until you need one specific limb to end the duel, since this card will let you go directly into your deck and take it.
  57.
  58. 11. Witch of the Black Forest x3
  59.
  60. When this card gets sent to the graveyard, you can add one monster with 1500 or less DEF form your deck to your hand. Like Blue Dragon Summoner, you can play this against an opposing monster and draw one card, or play it with Wonder Wand and gain three cards. Also a good card to play on your last Exodia piece, and unlike Blue Dragon Summoner, you can draw the head of Exodia.
  61.
  62. From there, you can leave the screen, and begin speedrunning! Simply select the story you want to run! You can skip the first duel in every story because it's simply a tutorial duel. Timing begins when you select the duel from the menu and ends when you win the final duel.
  63.
  64. I'm sure there's more strategy to this deck that Ishnisum and Giga know because they're actual Yu-Gi-Oh! players, but this is what I've picked up from the deck they gave me. As you can see, the duels usually last no longer than two minutes, sometimes three if you're particularly unlucky. I've yet to get a quick draw Exodia, but there is good potential for a first turn Exodia if you're lucky. This deck is an improvement over the old one, which had Sangan and Hand Destruction in it. This deck is simply more consistent than the previous one.
