  1. Three-day trip PROGRAM
  2. 1) There can be some changes due to weather conditions, and upon request of the group.
  3. 2) You can see location of the objects/sites at the map of the Chernobyl Zone.
  4. Day 1:
  5. - town of Ivankiv, villages of Sukachi and New-Ladyzhychi (built for the former residents of evicted Ladyzhychi village in the Chernobyl Zone);
  6. - recreation base "Ecopolis” at the bank of Teterev-river: amateur museum of local lore (optional, on request of the group);
  7. - site of the field camp of the 25th brigade of radiation, chemical and bacteriological protection;
  8. - (30-km-)Zone checkpoint "Dytyatki";
  9. - bypass road to the NPP around the town of Chernobyl, built during the first month after the accident;
  10. - 10-km-zone checkpoint "Lelev";
  11. - abandoned village of Lelev;
  12. - site of former vehicle decontamination depot "Lelev";
  13. - eliminated village of Kopachi (buildings of post-office and farms; ancient beehive, made from tree trunk);
  14. - site of former vehicle decontamination depot "Kopachi";
  15. - decontaminated Red Forest, located on the trace of the worst, first release of the radiation directly after the explosion;
  16. - town of Pripyat, which had population of 50 thousand before the evacuation – introductory visit;
  17. - Chernobyl NPP:
  18. the Sarcophagus and New Safe Confinement ("Arch”) – observation lot and visit to the observation building
  19. fire station at the NPP; its crews arrived the first to extinguish fire at the NPP after explosion
  20. park and monument near the administrative building, where used to be an enormous parking lot in 1986: thousands of people arrived there daily for NPP decontamination, Sarcophagus construction and other works
  21. the NPP cooling pond (feeding giant catfish – depending on the season)
  22. - town of Chernobyl:
  23. helicopter pad
  24. place of a former parking lot for armored vehicles of radiation reconnaissance
  25. exhibition of vehicles which participated in mitigation of the accident
  26. fire station of Chernobyl-town: its crews arrived the third to extinguish fire at the NPP after the explosion
  27. monument to Chernobyl heroes: a floral tribute
  28. St Ilya orthodox church
  29. historical blocks and buildings of the town
  30. Jewish history of Chernobyl-town: building of a synagogue, graves of Chernobyl zaddiks (place for pilgrimage of Judaists from all over the world), Jewish cemetery, grave of and monument for the Holocaust victims
  31. - settling in a hotel;
  32. - dinner in Chernobyl-town

  34. Day 2:
  35. - breakfast in Chernobyl-town;
  36. - 10-km-zone checkpoint "Lelev";
  37. - photo session at the stele of Prypayt-town;
  38. - grave of the antifascist guerillas of World War 2 near the bridge to Prypayt-town;
  39. - railway bridge to Prypayt-town: photo session;
  40. - town of Pripyat – detailed acquaintance and photo sessions:
  41. main bus station
  42. barbed-wire fence, built by the liquidators around the town
  43. the building of fire station, which crews arrived the second to extinguish fire at the NPP on the night of explosion on April 26, 1986
  44. building of the townhouse – the first headquarters for mitigation of the accident's consequences
  45. hotel "Polissya" which was an observation point for correcting helicopter operations over the ruin of the 4th reactor
  46. a hospital, which accommodated the firemen and NPP workers, badly affected by the accident
  47. main square: Palace of Culture, soviet supermarket, restaurant
  48. amusement park with Ferris wheel
  49. unique natural phenomenon – a moss, which collects and concentrates radiation
  50. debunking of radiation myths: "a mutated pine tree”
  51. sport stadium: its football field turned into a forest
  52. town police station
  53. quay at the river Pripyat, café "Prometheus”
  54. cinema theater "Prometheus” and place of the evacuated monument to Prometheus
  55. etc.
  56. - selfsetllers at the Novoshepelichi village: acquaintance with their way of life, providing aid;
  57. - dinner in Chernobyl-town;
  58. - presentation and discussion about Chernobyl and radiation accidents, their mitigation and survival
  59.  
  60. Day 3:
  61. - breakfast in Chernobyl-town;
  62. - left bank of Pripyat river, acquaintance with the river flood plain and estuary: nature and selfsettlers;
  63. - the cooling towers of the third stage of the Chernobyl NPP;
  64. - abandoned experimental station of radiation biology of animal subjects;
  65. - the railway station "Yanov"
  66. - the secret soviet object Chernobyl-2 (radar "DUGA-1");
  67. - ChNPP and town of Pripyat: final photo sessions;
  68. - western sector of the Zone: nature, peculiarities of contamination, abandoned villages, selfsettlers;
  69. - Zone checkpoints "Dibrova”, "Ovruch” and "Polis’ke” (exit from the Zone);
  70. - quick "decontamination shot” at "The Hunter’s hut” restaurant (optional, on request of the group);
  71. - dinner in Chernobyl-town;
  72. - 8-8.30 p.m. – arrival to Kiev main railway station.
