  1. 19:20] <DamienLunas> Resuming from where we left off, you were still in the extradimensional arena which you were summoned to in order to fight Bahamut. Now that you have proved yourselves worthy in battle, he is willing to answer questions once you are ready.
  2. 06[19:22] * Morty looks around at the others, waiting his turn if they already have something to ask in mind.
  3. [19:24] <Niki> (Do we have questions?)
  4. [19:24] <DamienLunas> (I think you people were going to try to ask him about stuff regarding the Aeon Wars?)
  5. 01[19:25] <Morty> (Yeah, I was just waiting in case the others wanted to go first)
  6. [19:25] <Odes> "We're seeking a few things... but first, a lingering mystery. Do you know about the resurgence of Aeons in the world of light? A war broke out there, some time ago now - and matched a surge in the power of Garland's forces." (hoping I got that all right @_@)
  7. [19:26] <DamienLunas> "Yes, I believe you will find I know more than you would think, but perhaps less than you would hope."
  8. 06[19:27] * Morty settles down for storytime.
  9. [19:27] <Odes> "My hope is it's more than we know at present, and that wouldn't be hard."
  10. [19:27] <DamienLunas> "I am the grandest of all Aeons. I know much of the actions of the others."
  11. [19:28] <DamienLunas> "And as such, I am not complicated by the situation of the ongoing war."
  12. [19:30] <DamienLunas> "This Aeon War as you call it, has not yet truly ended."
  13. [19:31] <DamienLunas> "In the crystal realm which you originate from, King Cid of Whitegate drove the Aeons residing in the world to the farplane."
  14. [19:32] <DamienLunas> "But what he did not know, was that there existed another side in this war that he had not yet defeated. For in the world of Dynamis, Atomos became the champion of the Garland Empire."
  15. [19:32] <Niki> "That we heard before..."
  16. [19:33] <DamienLunas> "I am sure you know that during the Aeon war, great weapons were produced by the Aeons for their world."

  18. 01[19:34] <Morty> (I personally don't remember this part, unless he means things like the Ring of Diabolos)
  19. [19:34] <DamienLunas> (Yeah, things like that.)
  20. [19:35] <DamienLunas> (Alexander produced shields, as well as King Cid's Excalibur)
  21. 01[19:35] <Morty> "Ohh, like that Dark Knight ring." he recalls.
  22. 01[19:35] <Morty> He waits for Bahamut to go on.
  23. [19:35] <DamienLunas> "The physical form of Atomos still resides within this realm, granting the Garlands a boon of power."
  24. [19:36] <DamienLunas> "This included the ability to send creatures from this realm to the other side."
  25. [19:39] <DamienLunas> "Slowly, Garland has been building up this power to strengthen himself and his kingdom before making his move."
  26. [19:40] <Odes> "That explains that mystery, too..."
  27. [19:40] <DamienLunas> "And once he began to send creatures of Darkness to fight against creatures of Light, his power grew stronger still."
  28. [19:42] <Niki> "The rift..."
  29. 01[19:43] <Morty> He's stiiiiill waiting on the big mystery they were wondering about
  30. 01[19:45] <Morty> "But... sorry if I missed something, kupo, but why did the fighting start to begin with?"
  31. 01[19:45] <Morty> "What -caused- the Aeon War?"
  32. [19:46] <DamienLunas> "The one who instigated this war... "
  33. [19:47] <Niki> "Atomos? King Garland?"
  34. [19:47] <DamienLunas> "it was Yojimbo."
  35. 01[19:48] <Morty> "...Yojimbo?? Really, kupo? The one from the hidden city...?"
  36. [19:49] <DamienLunas> "Yes, one of the most neutral forces instigated this war."
  37. [19:50] <DamienLunas> "But if you are at all familiar with this Aeon, you should know that he does not take action without compensation."
  38. [19:51] <DamienLunas> "So it stands to reason that he was almost certainly paid to start the war."
  39. [19:51] <Odes> "...I assume the client is Garland, or is this to be another surprise?"
  40. [19:51] <Niki> "But how we can know who paid him?"
  41. [19:52] <DamienLunas> "Though I can not know the name of his client... it is most logical that the one who paid him was Garland."
  42. 01[19:56] <Morty> "All this for gil, kupo..." He hangs his head. "I... can't even bring myself to be mad at him. We need to stop King Garland, once and for all!" he lifts his head again.
  43. [19:57] <DamienLunas> "It would take the resources of an entire empire to convince him to begin this war."
  44. [19:57] <DamienLunas> "And once it began, he sought out a champion who would pay him not to fight."
  45. [19:58] <DamienLunas> "I can only reason that his client must have been Garland."
  46. 01[19:59] <Morty> "I wonder if it'd do any good to start with sending Atomos back out of Dynamis..."
  47. 06[19:59] * Niki crosses her arms. It really is the logical conclusion, but...
  48. [19:59] <Niki> There's no proof, is there?
  49. [19:59] <DamienLunas> "The amount of chaos that has been sowed has made Garland a far larger threat."
  50. 01[20:00] <Morty> "He might be mighty, but we're not gonna give up, kupo! We'll end his threat permanently this time, and restore the balance."
  51. 01[20:02] <Morty> "The question is where to start..."
  52. [20:02] <DamienLunas> "Perhaps I can start by giving you some rewards for fighting me."
  53. [20:04] <DamienLunas> "Although... it appears that there is little I can give you that you do not already have."
  54. 01[20:04] <Morty> His ears perk up.
  55. [20:05] <DamienLunas> He hands you a stone tablet and a little flask.
  56. [20:05] <DamienLunas> Got 1x Mega Elixir
  57. [20:05] <DamienLunas> Got 1x "Tabula Rasa"
  58. [20:06] <Niki> (oooh)
  59. [20:06] <Niki> "A challenge... Is a reward for itself, to be honest."
  60. [20:06] <Niki> *by itself
  61. 01[20:06] <Morty> "Not that I disagree exactly, but more stuff is cool too! Ooh, what's this?"
  62. 01[20:06] <Morty> He looks at the slate.
  63. [20:06] <DamienLunas> "That tablet can become whatever item you wish it to be."
  64. [20:07] <DamienLunas> "Make of it what you will."
  65. 01[20:07] <Morty> "Wow..."
  66. 01[20:07] <Morty> "Thanks, kupo! We'll be very careful with it."
  67. 06[20:08] * Odes does his best not to grabbyhands towards it
  68. [20:08] <DamienLunas> "Be sure to choose wisely. as it may only be used once."
  69. 01[20:09] <Morty> He thinks on what else they could possibly ask here.
  70. 01[20:10] <Morty> A little idea pops into his head but he files it away for until they're more or less ready to leave.
  71. [20:10] <DamienLunas> "Secondly, I offer you a revelation about the power you already hold."
  72. [20:10] <Odes> (I have to dip out, estimated for about half an hour or so with a bit of luck @_@)
  73. [20:11] <DamienLunas> "You have each faced the shadow inside your heart. By conquering it and accepting its existence, you no longer have to fear the shadows from without."

  77. [20:14] <DamienLunas> Choose One: Retrain a limit break, retrain a limit ability, retrain 2 regular abilities within their class, rearrange up to 6 stat points, or gain 1 destiny.
  78. 01[20:15] <Morty> What are our options with retraining limit abilities?
  79. [20:17] <Niki> (Ooooh)
  80. [20:17] <Niki> (I'll go with the regular ability retrain)
  81. [20:18] <Niki> (because samurai has better stuff)
  82. [20:19] <DamienLunas> has to be within the same class for limit abilities
  83. [20:20] <Niki> (i said regular)

  88. 01[20:27] <Morty> (The only things I would consider retraining is possible Lancet into Rising Strength but I don't t hink it'd be too useful anymore, and retraining Heirloom into, say, Status Resistant seems like it'd be against the spirit of heirloom)
  89. [20:28] <Niki> (substituting Blackout and Ambush for Outmanuever and Power Break)

  91. 01[20:32] <Morty> (My limit breaks are exactly where I want them, my limit abilities are good, except Meteorain's become a bit outdated (forget what happened with the garland swarm because that's the only time it'd matter). I'd trade it for Velocity but I can't. :D And rearranging stats... what would I do, put six points of dex into power? My first limit break already does that)

  97. 01[20:35] <Morty> (I spent 3 for dragonheart, 3 for endless adventure... the destiny wars shenanigans got retconned)

  99. 01[20:35] <Morty> (Don't think.... so that left me at 4 destiny... +2 from Bahamut, +1 for Victory Pose... and then another +1 for 8 total? Sounds about right)

  123. 01[20:47] <Morty> Morty thinks, and he thinks, and he gets a sort of bashful and embarassed expression on his face. He nudges Ms. Feathers to fly up near Bahamut's head and whispers a question to him.
  124. [20:50] <DamienLunas> "I am sorry, but I am afraid such a thing is not possible. It is beyond even my power to change the world to work in such a way."
  125. 01[20:50] <Morty> "Aww."
  126. [20:51] <Odes> "?" He can't - or maybe figures it's best not to - fathom what exactly was being asked.
  127. 01[20:51] <Morty> He droops a little. "Well... it was worth asking, kupo."
  128. [20:51] <DamienLunas> "The two of you will have to find your own solution to this problem."
  129. 01[20:51] <Morty> He nods.
  130. 01[20:51] <Morty> "Right... no need to give up just yet!"
  131. 01[20:51] <Morty> He comes back down to the ground, just looking more determined than ever.
  132. [20:52] <DamienLunas> "I am sure that you will find your own way."
  133. [20:54] <Niki> "The two of..." Oh.
  134. 01[20:54] <Morty> "Um, so did anyone have anything else they wanted to ask, kupo?"
  135. 06[20:54] * Niki connects the dots, and looks down bashfully.
  136. [20:55] <Odes> "Will you be able to help us, when we confront Garland?" That's the main thing he was after this whole time, really.
  137. [20:55] <Niki> "...Your Highness."
  138. 06[20:56] * Niki extends her hand. "Odes makes a good point. Can you give us your assistance once we fight the Garland King?"
  139. [20:56] <DamienLunas> "Of course, my child."
  140. 01[20:57] <Morty> (To clarify, you're wanting Niki to take Grand Summoner to be able to summon Bahamut?
  141. 01[20:57] <Morty> )
  142. [20:59] <DamienLunas> (Well she asked if she could and I said yes)
  143. [20:59] <DamienLunas> "Should you have the energy to call me forth from my plane, I will assist you in that battle however I can."
  144. [21:01] <DamienLunas> "For the rest of you, I suggest considering the power that lies within your crystals and yourself. There is a great deal of potential you can unlock simply by drawing energy from your respective crystals."
  145. 01[21:04] <Morty> "I'll keep that in mind, kupo!"
  146. 01[21:05] <Morty> He beams. "Thank you for everything."
  147. [21:05] <DamienLunas> "If you wish to understand what I mean, young moogle, try to leap into the air while holding on to your crystal and drawing out its power."
  148. 01[21:08] <Morty> He's a bit curious, but he takes out the crystal and then leaps!
  149. [21:09] <DamienLunas> Morty leaps into the air like a rocket! Carried by the wind, he can feel himself having absolute control over the wind and his flight, floating in the air until he descends like a bolt of lightning!
  150. [21:11] <Niki> "Wow...!" Morty... He's flying in even greater speeds than her!
  151. 06[21:11] * Niki clutches her own Crystal. But what could Fire do?
  152. [21:13] <DamienLunas> "You must visualize using its power for something. Once you have an idea in mind, metal and fire will bend to your will."
  153. [21:16] <DamienLunas> "But of course, even without using its power, you have proven yourself more than capable, my child."
  154. [21:16] <DamienLunas> "You bring great pride to your clan."
  155. 01[21:17] <Morty> (Sorry, I was dragged off for a second)
  156. 01[21:18] <Morty> "Kupo!" he lands with a surprise, a burst of wind softening his landing. "I've always used the crystal a little bit at a time, but that..." (Referring to my fluffing, mostly)
  157. [21:20] <Niki> "T-thank you...!"
  158. [21:21] <DamienLunas> "When you are ready to leave, simply step into the circle you came in through."
  159. [21:21] <DamienLunas> "No time will have passed on your side."
  160. [21:22] <Niki> (oh man it's the kami dimension from DBZ)
  161. [21:23] <Niki> (the time chamber)
  162. 01[21:27] <Morty> He nods. "Thank you. We better get going... we have two worlds to save, new heights to soar to!"
  163. [21:28] <Odes> "Yes. Thank you, o Bahamut. It has been an honor."
  164. 06[21:31] * Morty directs Ms. Feathers to turn and head towards the circle, though he turns to give Bahamut one last, hopeful look.
  165. [21:34] <DamienLunas> (I'm thinking of calling it :<)
  166. 06[21:34] * Niki gives a last respectful bow and then heads to the circle.
