1. 1) Real life name, age, occupation. Anything about yourself you would like to add.
2. 1.1. Real life name, age & occupation.
3. Hey there, Andreas' the name and this is my application! I am currently 27 years of age, turning 28 in march (God I'm old). I live in my own apartment with my 2 cats (don't fret, they don't raid).
4. I have been playing games since the good old SNES-era, rocking out the SSF2:Turbo and Killer Instinct. I moved on to computer-gaming around the quake 2 era, with quake world taking up most of my free time.
5. Later moved on to Quake 3, Diablo 2, SC: Broodwar, Warcraft 3 and Lineage 2. Finally, Enter the World of Warcraft-era. I have been playing World of Warcraft since the last 2 weeks of vanilla-WoW open beta.
6. I work as an Technical Administrator at the University of Gothenburg (Fancy title for what I actually do, which is watching youtube-videos).
7.
8.
9. 1.2. How many of our raids will you be able to attend, will we be able to rely on you to attend 95%+ of raids during progression?
10. At the moment, I have a 100% attendance since I joined my last guild, which was January 29:th of 2014. I will be able to make any raid you schedule (except perhaps during the summer for the potential vacation.
11.
12. 1.3. Anything else you feel is relevant.
13. Nothing really, besides the fact that I thank you for taking your time reading this application.
14.
15. 2) Characters information and relevant alts.
16. 2.1. Character Name, Server & Armory page:
17. Doge - Al'Akir (http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Alakir/Doge/advanced)
18.
19. 2.2. Explain your reasoning behind your character choices for us (Talents - give some examples per encounter, Gearing Priorities, Rotation etc).
20. Right so, first things first. Retpaladins do damage (Shocker, I know) but don't underestimate the amount of utility we bring to the table, even after the skill-pruning that WoD brought.
21. I have mained this paladin since Wrath of the Lich King, before that I was playing a rogue called Fukinkou on Ravencrest way back in Vanilla.
22. Currently, retpaladins go for Mastery > Multistrike > Crit > Haste > Versatility, which is a big change from MoP, in which you stacked Haste to 40% then dumped everything into Mastery.
23. Sims also support this going into Foundry and 4PT17.
24.
25. A standard "rotation" can be summarized fairly simple:
26. Holy-power generating moves when not at 5HP --> Finishers. Obviously, this is super-simplified, and a more thorough "rotation" (God, I hate that word) would be:
27.
28. > ES on Single-target, LH when it can hit full-duration on 2+ targets
29. > DS at 5hp with FV and EmpDS
30. > DP-FV (Or DS if cleave) when DP has 4 or fewer seconds remaining
31. > Emp DS if DS will run out within 4 seconds
32. > Finisher with 5HP
33. > Hammer of Wrath
34. > 4PT17 Exo (For foundry, obviously)
35. > Emp DS with FV buff + Wings
36. > FV with Wings
37. > Crusader Strike
38. > Judgement
39. > Emp DS + FV buff
40. > FV with DP-proc
41. > Exo
42. > Finisher with 4HP
43. > Finisher with 3HP
44.
45. This is obviously on a butcher-style fight (Except I'll be running sera instead of FV, obviously) but it's fairly simple.
46. As stated above, I'll be running AW+Sera on Butcher for single-target sustained DPS.
47. Twins makes great use of Double Jeopardy (If judgement is cast on a different target than your old target, it's stronger). Shared Healthpool = Shared Damage = rekt
48. Glyph of Templars Verdict is personally used on every fight, it's just too good to pass up.
49. Glyph of Mass Exorcism is used on fights where adds needs to be cleaved down.
50. Glyph of HoS is essential to not murdering yourself on bosses such as Brackenspore, in which HoS is a nifty CD to use on tanks.
51.
52. Now, for something completely different.
53. Talentchoices, how do they work?
54.
55. T1: I mostly use Speed of Light for mobility-on-a-stick, but Long Arm is nifty aswell.
56. T2: Fist of Justice. Mostly for heroics, but it's nice to have a stun on a short CD on MC's on Koragh for example.
57. T3: Selfless Healer. Always nice to have a free empowered Flash Heal.
58. T4: Unbreakable Spirit on fights where I do not need to use more than 1 HoS / HoP during their CD. I'll be using Clemency on Brackenspore, for example.
59. T5: The pewpew-tier. On single-target bosses like Butcher, this is the talent that brings the most bang for my buck. On cleave-fights, DP is preffered. In foundry, with 4PT17 in particular, DP/FV will be superior
60. T6: ES for Single-target, LH for fights where LH can hit 2+ enemies for the entire duration. Also has a decent healing-effect for melee aswell! Everything counts in the end!
61. T7: Seraphim on single-target, FV for the rest. One can debate for Emp Seals, but I find them clunky and would rather see the person that came up with this talent slapped, prefferebly live on Twitch.tv
62.
63.
64.
65. 2.3. What is your strongest offspec and do you have any experience with them?
66. In Wrath I was a holypaladin, because that was needed by the guild.
67. In cataclysm and MoP I was a protectionpaladin, because that was needed by the guild.
68. Later in MoP I rerolled Retpaladin, because that was needed by the guild. (A wild pattern appears!)
69. I am fairly certain I could master any role if need be, but I'd prefer being used as a Tank if must be.
70.
71. 2.4. Do you have any max level alts? If so any raiding experience on these past lfr?
72. I have a rogue, ilvl 673 that I raided 7/7 Heroic, 1/7 Mythic on.
73. Since I mained rogue back in Vanilla and TBC, I enjoy playing my rogue for obvious reasons. (Kill-me-spree is the best designed skill ever made, FYI).
74. Umezawa - Al'Akir (http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/alakir/Umezawa/simple)
75. Currently geared+talented for combat-pvp.
76.
77. 2.5. We require you to have one maintained alt for raiding purposes, is this a problem for you?
78. None at all, I enjoy playing my rogue.
79.
80.
81. 3) In-game history
82. 3.1. Previous guild/s and why did you leave it/them?:
83. I was playing in a guild called Sunday Union for all of vanilla up to and including ICC 10man HC LK.
84. At this point in time, most of the guilds officers and our GM had started or was going to start the mandatory finnish military service of 2 years, so the guild was "half-assedly" disbanded, meaning most of the officers, the raidleader and the GM left, and put an old member in charge of the guild.
85. That guild went on to kill some more bosses but I left during this period.
86. A close friend of mine asked me during this time if I could come play with them. I gladly accepted the offer, eager to see what was in store for me in Cataclysm.
87. We managed to slowly clear the first few raids in Cataclysm and when I rolled protection during start of Firelands, we actually got some good progression done.
88. After failing to get Ragnaros down, we went on to Dragon Soul.
89. Again, we did fairly well considering we only raided 2-3 nights a week at a casual level (3 hour raids). As the end of Cataclysm approached, I was feeling the dread of playing the game for so long that I decided to end it there.
90. It had been a great couple of years, but everything has it's time.
91.
92. Or so I thought.
93. Enter Throne of Thunder.
94. A friend of mine (who still subscribed to the game), convinced me that I should give Mists of Pandaria a go. Foolishly (I thought at the time), I started it up again, hopped on my rogue and leveled it to 90 and started enjoying the new content.
95. It was a lot of fun. But then comes the point where the LFR is not cutting it, and I wanted something more.
96. So I contacted an old raidfriend of mine, Vesri, and asked him if his guild needed two players (me and my friend, Jakob).
97. They sure do, he replied.
98. During the interview for the guild, it became apparent that the guild needed a tank, rather than my rogue. Having previously enjoyed raiding as a protection-paladin, I accepted the position as maintank and migrated / leveled my paladin.
99. We started raiding and I joined them about halfway through ToT. After clearing ToT with 3 heroic bosses down, it was time for siege.
100. Progress was slow but steady (-ish). The guild still wiped on stupid stuff and players had a tendency to forget what bosses do from week to week and fail to do the tactics properly.
101. The turning-point was during Malkorok heroic:
102. Two players failed continuously and it became apparent that they were indeed keyboardturning in 2014. After being called out on this fact, the player threw a temper-tantrum and left the raid, refusing to rejoin leaving the rest of us looking at Malkorok. (This was an officer, by the way).
103. This led to me leaving the guild (still on good terms with most of the players there).
104.
105. After this I decided to aim a bit higher and applied to the guild I recently quit together with a big chunk of the core-raiders.
106. This guild is Crimson on Al'Akir. They needed a retpaladin, and never having played ret before, I was hesitant but I have it a shot and passed trial. I joined at the transition into a 25-man guild, previously being a 10-man guild, and started to progress (somewhat re-progressing) 25man.
107. We managed to clear it without too much incidents and continued to farm the place for a year (kill me now). I really enjoyed the players and raiders, but it was apparent that some of the core-members were carrying the other core. But me liking everyone in the raid, I thought that it suited me fine.
108. During christmas-time of 2014, both officers seemed to undergo a big change. The GM seemed to resort to raidlogging at best, claiming he had alot of studies, and the officer (and tank) had issues adjusting to her new job and basicly stopped raiding for a month. This lead to a sundering in the guild. Drama started popping up, raids started to get cancelled and the atmosphere were becoming worse and worse.
109. This led to me and a few other core members bringing our issues to the GM and explained that we might be taking our business elsewhere. We were greated with a: "If you have any doubts, just get the fuck out". Well, that escalated quickly!
110. Said and done, I am now looking for a new guild!
111.

164.
165. 7) Sell yourself to us.
166. 7.1. What is your reasoning for wanting to join and why should we accept you?
167. I am a raider that takes pride in what he has done and what he is capable of doing in World of Warcraft (and anything else I put my mind to).
168. I bring dedication and stability, 24/7. I still think I have more to give, and this guild seems to be a great place to give it my all!
169.
170. 7.2. Are you able to handle adult humour, sarcasm, constructive criticism, gamma radiation and banter during farm content?
171. I am a delicate flower, handle me with care.
172. Nah, but I have been a denized of the internet for close to 20+ years, I don't think there's anything anyone can do to me to make me lose it (yes, Challenge Accepted!)
