  1. "Hail, Arya." The large, square-jawed elf had finally caught up to the young looking girl, landing beside her from one of the high branches of the trees. "It is little you do not know about the woods; something you and Tatenen have in common. To see you disagree over the existence of something in it is rare to say the least."
  2.
  3. A large buck in the clearing ahead (or what an elf may consider a clearing) picked its head up and ran off, forcing a sigh from Arya. "You have very little tact, Beleg. I can't believe you're so good at hunting elves and demons but so poor around animals." She looked at him with a pout before rolling her eyes and continuing. "Tatenen sometimes thinks he really is his namesake, and his belief in what are little more than fairy tales is what kept him out of the 9 for so many years. You know how those who study the ways of the wizard end up. Head in too many books, not in the forest like it should be."
  4.
  5. "Still, the Temple of the Fey is not a place we tread any longer. What comes from the Feywild is something the elves long removed themselves from. Maybe it's possible there are old artifacts there."
  6.
  7. "The only thing in that temple is that bastard mother of death."
  8.
  9. "I hear Gwarth has taken an interest in it ever since the crows of the Black Woods picked up on their assaults of those who wander into their woods. Now we have some elf of our domain who says nature is speaking to him? It seems odd, like there may be more going on here that we need to look into as a council." Beleg took his chin into his hand and thought deeply. Something felt like it was coming together in his mind, but something was missing; like a puzzle you were only a few pieces away from completing before realizing those pieces were lost.
  10.
  11. "If they come out of the temple, they may yet seek us out again, and if they have the amulet then we will know it is true. Still, if a rag-tag team of vagabonds want to walk into death in those woods, so be it. I do not even hunt there any longer, and I have been tracking for my entire life." Arya put her bow away, string over her shoulder where she kept it while moving. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have game to catch and I have to have it cut and prepared before dinner, I am feasting tonight with Uriah and Sanke. Feel free to join us."
  12.
  13. Beleg looked forward, still deep in thought. "Thank you, I may take you up on that. May the forest guide you." He motioned with his hand a parting gesture before setting off towards the north east.
