Mardock Enterprises Loresheet

A spin-off that quickly became a household name, Mardock Enterprises is a planet-wide megacorp.  While this makes it rather a small fish in a very big pond, the expertise of its development team is quickly leading it to be recognized by those who pay attention to such things, even across the galaxy.  At first only specializing in civilian goods, several of the ideas were recognized by the local TSAB branch and the company was soon given a permit to develop and begin limited production of certain military-grade instruments...


The pride and joy of the company is a breakthrough in programming known as Simulated Intelligences.  While not actually capable of independent thought, these SI units are capable of basic prediction, and acting in complex ways based on those predictions.  An SI unit integrated into a refrigerator will quickly learn the owner's preferences for food and is capable of making orders from local stores to restock, even ensuring that scheduled delivery or pickup times align with their owner's schedule.  They can be further used to filter such things as advertisements, learning the user's likes and dislikes and controlling what is displayed in an AR environment.

Several local branches of the TSAB are currently exploring the use of SI devices in combat or rescue scenarios.  Programmed with a variety of scenarios, early prototypes showed themselves capable of independently deploying defensive countermeasures a few fractions of a second faster than the more expensive, more dangerous "Intelligent Devices."

1 Status: You work for the company.
	0 Bonus:Gain Specialty on Learning OR Craft rolls that are for utilizing Mardock Enterprises technology.

2-4 Status: You are a high-up member of the Corp, or immediate family of one of those people.  This likely means nothing to your average individual, but you may expect some respect among those who know of the Company, who will recognize the experience that has rubbed off on you.   In addition to any advantages being a person of some wealth might give, of course.
	0 Bonus: Gain a Lore Sheet Bonus equivalent to a +5 to the Learning OR Craft skills when used to work with any technology.  This counts as a Chi Condition, and does not stack with other Chi Conditions.

4 Treasure: You possess one of the early prototype "sheathes" produced to assist with the Military trials.  While currently no different from an ordinary weaponized device, the potential exists for you to eventually recieve upgrade packages that apply significant increases in its utility.  This is a prerequisite for the following Lore.

5 Treasure: With the WS's approval, your device receives an upgraded SI core.  This entitles you to remake your Device in accordance with the Legendary Weapon rules.
	+3 Your device gains an additional weapon tag.
