  6. +nationalparksign __ HAHAHA @ tipping the table over emoticon. It should be obvious to every honest, intelligent, and open-minded person that the "ISS" (whether real and manned, or not: the way it's presented creates the possibility for doubt) is used as a *propaganda platform* to impress beliefs upon children and excite their imaginations.
  7.
  8. _This could not be more obvious!_
  9.
  10. What the "Daily Laugh" doesn't seem able to grasp is that "astronauts" are given a false and *undeserved* reputation to children. As children, we believe "astronauts" to be the best of the best. The smartest of the smartest. The most capable of the most capable.
  11.
  12. But upon scrutiny, the reputation of "astronauts" is fictional. It's modern folklore. When asked where they are above the Earth they never seem to know. If people travelled on trains like astronauts travelled on the "ISS" they would end up hopelessly lost!
  13.
  14. People like the "Daily Laugh" might point out that the "ISS" isn't a mode of transport like a train. And it's not, even though you'd think there'd be a laptop in each module with a map showing where they are: just in case they wanted to duck down to the "Cupola" and take a photo of some landmark for their friends and family.
  15.
  16. What reveals the "reputation" farce is when native English "astronauts" try to speak Russian. They never seem able to string a sentence together except when it's in a controlled (and pre-recorded) situation with multiple camera angles to edit the speech together.
  17.
  18. This may not seem like a big deal to most people but it puts a crack in the myth. It allows us to ask, "is the reputation of astronauts deserved?" And if it's not, then why in crikey's good name is the reputation being blown out of proportion?
  19.
  20. Aren't honesty and modesty two virtues worth passing on to impressionable children?
  21.
  22. "Peggy Whitson" and "Chris Hadfield" will both say that they know "technical Russian" far better than "conversational Russian", but that's a misdirection. If a person can't speak even basic things in Russian then he or she sure as crikey can't speak "technical" things any better. Especially not under the pressure of a "worst case" emergency.
  23.
  24. Knowing conversational Russian does not mean you also know "technical" Russian. But the idea that knowing "technical" Russian without also knowing conversational Russian is somewhat of an insult. How exactly did they learn "technical" Russian in the first place? By skipping the basics?
  25.
  26. _Give me a break._
  27.
  28. How embarrassing for "NASA" that after more than 15 years they can only show us worthless water droplets and tasteless floating burritos, but never any floating space mice.
  29.
  30. We are constantly told about all the "cool science" - the many *"investigations"* - being done on the "ISS", but it feels like we'd being told that as a *substitute* to any of it being demonstrated.
  31.
  32. Ah, but the "Daily Laugh" will point out that many "investigations" are being done on the astronauts themselves! That's another convenient misdirection.
  33.
  34. When it comes to the "ISS", one's imagination must work overtime _and then some!_
  35.
