The Story So Far: Shikinami used a performance with her alto sax as a chance to express her honest feelings to Ayanami. Isonami caught sight of this with her camera from the shadows. Moved by the sight of Shikinami and trying to change herself, she's invited by Shikinami to start playing jazz together. The two of them are now chasing after their new goal, to "form a jazz band".

Shikinami: Isonami~
Have you picked yet?
Isonami: Hmmmm...

Iso: Instruments.. there's so many, I can't choose.
(Piano... sax... trumpet... drums... bass...)
Shiki: I see.
I was like, "This is the one!" from the very start, so.

Shiki: You could just try them all and then decide, right?
Akashi said she'd get them all in working condition anyway.

Shikinami - Second of the Ayanami-class destroyers, and the main character of this series. She's a good girl at heart but has trouble being honest with herself. She has an interest in the alto sax she found in the warehouse.
Isonami - Ninth of the Fubuki-class destroyers. Enjoys taking photos while lost in thought. She joins the band to see more of the world.
Ooyodo & Akashi - First of the Ooyodo-class light cruisers and an Akashi-class repair ship. Support Shikinami, since they dabbled with jazz in the past.

and lost all the stuff she was haulin'...

Kishi: Fortunately, Hama-nee's injuries were mild,
and we were transporting a large amount of supplies,
so the mission itself was not particularly jeopardized.

Asa: The Admiral said,
"Thank you for coming back safely,"
and comforted her and all.

Asa: But aneki said,
"I caused trouble for everyone" and "We could not fully complete the mission" and stuff.
She was real down.

Asa: We were all there at that moment,
but we couldn't move fast enough...
Feels like if we were just a little faster,
she wouldn't have ended up like that...
