  1. Story
  2. It is the day before the summer solstice, but a layer of snow has covered the[r]ground. Rencron and Rygen hunt for the[r]source of this sudden cold...
  3. Controls
  4. * Arrow Keys - Movement[r]* Z - Shoot[r]* X - Spellcard[r]* Shift - Focus[r]* Esc - Pause[r]* C - Skip dialogue[r]* V - Induce Game Over (for debugging[r]purposes)
  5. Game Screen
  6. * Lives - number of lives remaining.[r]    (pieces) - Eight are required for the first life. Each successive life[r]requires two more pieces than the[r]previous. Get them from enemies or by[r]scoring enough points.[r]* Spellcard - number of spellcard uses[r] remaining.[r]    (pieces) - Eight are required for[r]each spellcard. Get them from enemies or[r]by scoring enough points.[r]* Point item value (PIV) - maximum number of points given by a point item.[r]* Graze - number of bullets grazed.[r]* Elemental Meter - Elemental points[r]achieve certain effects in the game.
  7. Elemental Points
  8. Elemental points come in four types: air (yellow), earth (green), water (blue),[r]and fire (red).[r]* Air points are gained by using[r]spellcards. Having more air points will[r]lengthen the deathbomb window and[r]decrease the number of fragments required[r]for spellcards.[r]* Earth points are gained by surviving[r]and decrease the number of fragments[r]required for lives.[r]* Water points are gained by grazing and increase the point item value gained by[r]grazing.[r]* Fire points are gained by collecting[r]point items. They increase the number of[r]elemental points gained and lower the[r]line at which items are automatically[r]collected.[r]Being hit will decrease the number of[r]elemental points.

  10. * Point items (1) - primary source of[r]score. Value increases higher up the[r]screen.[r]* Green items (2) - Appear when bullets[r]are canceled. Increases point item value.[r]* Life and spellcard fragments (3) -[r]Collect enough to get more lives and[r]spellcards![r]* Whole lives and spellcards (4) -[r]Dropped from certain enemies.[r]* Elemental items (5) - Dropped on the[r]fifth and later stages. Give elemental[r]points. Value increases higher up the[r]screen.
  11. Special mechanics
  12. * If the previous life had spellcards,[r]the next will spawn without any.[r]* Rencron B has a 50% chance of[r]activating the spellcard when hit. If[r]the spellcard is activated this way, the[r]number of elemental points will not[r]decrease.[r]* Rygen B's spellcard will damage any[r]enemy, even those that are normally[r]immune to spellcards!
  13. Hidden mode
  14. Hidden mode can be accessed from the[r]Options menu, and changes some mechanics.[r]* The point item value cannot be[r]increased.[r]* Green items and grazing will give[r]points directly.[r]* Lives and bombs start at twelve[r]fragments.[r]* The deathbomb window is fixed at five[r]frames.[r]* The player's hitbox is not visible upon focusing.
  15. Spell Practice
  16. You can practice any spell that has been seen at least once.[r]In order to unlock the Overdrive version of a card, capture once or attempt 16[r]times its counterpart on each difficulty.
