  9. In lists within a sentence, parallelism is grammatically correct. (If you don’t use parallel forms, it’s incorrect.)

  11. Handout part A (p. 29) - With your partner, identify the item in each list that is NOT parallel. If you can, fix it so that it is.
  12. 1 boat rides -> boating (boat riding / riding boats are also acceptable)
  13. 2 They are digging for clams. -> They dig for clams.
  14. 3 his eyes -> [preposition] his eyes
  15. 4 painting pictures -> [noun] (e.g. “paintings”)
  16. 5 sadly -> sadness
  17. 6 into the Rolls Royce -> driven in a Rolls Royce (need a past participle)
