  1. [ Information on A Bigger Bit of 1.10 (still a tentative title) ]
  2.
  3. Mods already added:
  4. (APIs are not included)
  5.
  6. Akahsic Tome
  7. + Adds a book which lets you combine all books into a single book. Basically stops you from carrying multiple documentation books. Super useful! Works with Lexica Botania, Engineer's Manual, RFTools Docs, World Domination with OpenBlocks, etc etc etc.
  8. AppleSkin
  9. + Adds some detail to the UI, showing how much saturation (and optionally, exhaustion) you have, and how much food recovers.
  10. AutoSapling
  11. + If a sapling is to despawn, it plants itself instead.
  12. Baby Animals Model Swapper
  13. + D'AWWWWWWW
  14. Baubles
  15. + Adds some inventory slots which aren't inventory slots. Used a lot by Botania.
  16. BetterFPS
  17. + .. *shrug*. Maybe I'll replace it with FoamFix instead?
  18. Botania [Uses Mana]
  19. + Magical technology. Technological magic? Not necessarily super powerful, but has lots of fun toys to play with and is difficult to automate, but not impossible. Arguably the most powerful mod in the pack.
  20. Bullseye
  21. + Adds some arrows. Bomb Arrows, Water Arrows, Torch Arrows.. that kinda thing. Actually kinda cool.
  22. ChatFlow
  23. + Lets you use the POWER OF REGEX to filter chat. I like to stop some of the more spammy messages appearing in my chat, especially the bed ones.
  24. Chisels and Bits
  25. + Tiny blocks. Make your own furniture.
  26. Chisels and Bytes
  27. + Convert Chisels & Bits creations into models printable from an OpenBlocks Printer! ... I think.
  28. CraftTweaker
  29. + Lets me alter, add and remove crafting recipes, among other things. I used this to disable the Angel Ring when I still had ExUtils2 in the pack... but then I removed ExUtils2 as it was a bit TOO powerful overall. :V
  30. Ding
  31. + Hello, your game has loaded. Here is a sound telling you so.
  32. Double Jump
  33. + Adds a new enchantment to the game, "Double Jump". No points guessing what it does.
  34. Drawers & Bits
  35. + Addon for Storage Drawers, which holds Chiseled Bits.
  36. Environmental Creepers
  37. + I hate the default creeper 30% drop rate (so many world holes!), so I can use this to turn it up to 100% without actually disabling mob griefing like I normally do. Yay!
  38. Fast Leaf Decay
  39. + if(player.choppedTree == true) then leaf.decay(quickly);
  40. Flat Coloured Blocks
  41. + Blocks with an almost flat texture. Mostly for use with Chisels & Bits.
  42. Forestry [Uses RF]
  43. + A nicely complex automatic farming system, an interesting (but not too useful) bee, tree and butterfly genetics system and some nice general utilities for regular use. Also, bees aren't that useful without addons, which is how the balance was SUPPOSED TO BE. >:U
  44. Fullscreen Windowed
  45. + Gives you a free unicorn
  46. Hardcore Darkness
  47. + Makes the dark actually dark. I alter the settings so that moonlight, Nether light and End light still exist, but light level zero is pure black. This essentially makes the surface the same, but makes caves actually dangerous.
  48. Hopper Ducts
  49. + I think every modpack should have this mod. Basically, tiny hopper-like "tubes" which can go up. Functionally identical to Vanilla hoppers, except they only have one inventory slot and don't draw in items automatically (but they do output automatically)
  50. Immersive Engineering [Uses RF]
  51. + Like IC2, but shinier and uses RF. Also has giant multiblock machines. VERY aesthetically pleasing mod, but many complain that the machines are too weak (because it completely ignored the power creep of other mods!) When it's the only mod like it in the pack... are the machines even that weak at all? RIP Power Creep! (Also contains Powered Lanterns, probably my favourite mod feature ever since the Magnum Torch of old)
  52. IndustrialCraft 2 [Uses EU]
  53. + I literally just keep this one in because it's *balanced*. I'd prefer to use ImEng personally, but this is there for completion's sake. I'd like to get back into it someday.
  54. Just Enough Items
  55. + DO I REALLY NEED TO EXPLAIN THIS ONE
  56. JEI Bees Addon
  57. + Adds additional information for bees in JEI.
  58. JourneyMap
  59. + I really didn't want to add a minimap addon (I prefer *earning* power over getting it outright) but I found out Antique Atlas isn't updated, and the Vanilla maps are just... no. (Though saying that, BiblioCraft has an Atlas... I may switch to that.)
  60. Just Enough Resources
  61. + Extra JEI stuff, like mob drops and ore spawn locations.
  62. KleeSlabs
  63. + Break a full-block slab... and ONE slab breaks, not two.
  64. LL Overlay Reloaded
  65. + Replicates NEI's missing Light Level Overlay.
  66. MCMultiPart
  67. + .. not sure why I have this as I have Chisels & Bits. Compatability's sake?
  68. MmmMmmMmmMmm
  69. + Training Dummy! You can see how much damage your weapons deal. He looks goofy too so it also serves as some nice decoration.
  70. Mod Name Tooltip
  71. + Replicates the missing mod name tooltip function from NEI.
  72. ModTweaker2
  73. + Expands CraftTweaker
  74. Morpheus
  75. + GO TO SLEEP.
  76. Morph-o-Tool
  77. + Like the Akahsic Tome, but for wrenches. Holds many modded wrenches in a single block. Supports the IC2 Electric Wrench, Yeta Wrench, Crescent Hammer, Wand of the Forest, etc.
  78. OpenComputers [Uses RF]
  79. + Like ComputerCraft, but actually balanced. Also has more features! And renders the monitors in-world. The computers actually use up RF based on how much work they're doing, so more system-intensive programs would drain your energy. Also: Nanomachines, son.
  80. OpenGlasses
  81. + Terminal Goggles, OpenComputers Edition.
  82. Quark
  83. + THE Vanilla Improvement mod. Half of these features should be in the base game, but to explain them all here would be... madness.
  84. Redstone Paste
  85. + It's like redstone, but it can go up walls.
  86. Roots
  87. + A nature-based magic mod. Craft yourself magic wands by mashing up various plants, and then use them for your various nefarious deeds. I may need to disable the Acceleration Wand, however... that one's a bit TOO potent.
  88. Similsax Transtructors
  89. + Basically gives us the SkySaga-style building system, where you can build a bridge without sneaking over the edge of a block. c:
  90. Storage Drawers
  91. + Like barrels but cooler
  92. The One Probe
  93. + Like WAILA, but better. Not only is it more stylish, but there's an optional balancing mechanic where you have to have the item (or Bauble) in order to have the WAILA-style HUD appear.
  94. TombManyGraves
  95. + Obligatory Death Chest Mod. The 5 minute drop timer is just too annoying to work with.
  96. UniDict
  97. + Unifies recipes related to the Ore Dictionary so everything produces the same things. While the Ore Dictionary lets many different items of the same type (ie: Copper Ingot) produce the same item, UniDict works in reverse: It makes all the different crafting methods of producing Copper Ingots produce a single type of Copper Ingot. FREAKIN' ESSENTIAL.
  98. Village Box
  99. + Lets you create villages with humanoid NPCs which trade with you. Kind of Terraria-style, in a way. You can also upgrade the villagers so they produce different things. I can even customise this myself, so I could make them sell modded items!
  100.
  101.
  102. * * * * *
  103.
  104.
  105. Mods I'm considering adding:
  106.
  107. RailCraft
  108. + Adds rails, makes rail crafting more complex but not necessarily more powerful. Also adds different types of rails and increased the rail amount you craft (Vanilla is pitiful.)
  109. Steve's Carts
  110. + Adds minecarts. Create your own minecarts using a modular system, and GO GO GO. Maybe a little too powerful? Not sure.
  111. Engineer's Workshop
  112. + Adds a workstation which can be four crafting tables, four furnaces or a combination of the two. Also can contain upgrades, like "solar powered".
  113. Fairy Lights
  114. + Adds adorable fairy light decorations which you can use to make a place fancy (or spooky, if you use the Halloween ones)
  115. Literal Ascension
  116. + Adds intuitive solutions for vertical mobility.
  117. Super Crafting Frame
  118. + Adds frames which can be right clicked to craft the item immediately. I'll... probably disable the other frames via CraftTweaker because they're a little too powerful.
  119. Dynamic Surroundings
  120. + Enhances the Vanilla Sound experience by... making everything sound cool. Also has Presence Footsteps (and MAtmos?) built in!
  121. Ceramics
  122. + Adds clay buckets, clay armour, clay shears and clay tanks. I might disable the armour and shears.
  123. TOP Addons
  124. + Adds more information to The One Probe for some mods.
  125. Wearable Backpacks
  126. + A more balanced backpack mod. You have to have it in your chestplate slot to store items, sacrificing protection.
  127.
  128. Mods I'm curious about, but don't know enough about yet:
  129.
  130. Magneticraft
  131. + Seems to be taking a similar route to Immersive Engineering. Also has its own far more interesting power system by looks? (Bit of content overlap though, eurgh)
  132. Embers
  133. + An interesting take on a tech mod, by the same guy who made Roots. Seems to have complete content overlap with Immersive Engineering/IC2 though, which is slightly disheartening.
  134. Refraction
  135. + It appears to be a mod about light reflecting?
  136.
  137.
  138. Mods I'm just not sure about, even though I already know about them:
  139.
  140. Blood Magic
  141. + I'm torn. I recall Blood Magic being pretty overpowered back in the day, and I'm not sure if it still is. Blehhhh.
  142. Mob Properties
  143. + I could fiddle with mob health/damage/etc with this... but I do wonder why I would in the first place.
  144.
  145.
  146. Mods I REALLY LIKE but don't fit the style of the pack at all:
  147.
  148. Harvest Festival
  149. + Pretty much, Harvest Moon in Minecraft. Or Stardew Valley, if you prefer. Complete game overhaul mod.
  150. Ars Magica 2
  151. + Too powerful, but still my favourite mod. c:
