- Payday Series Timeline
- Background and Lore:
- The Payday Series takes place in an exaggerated universe not unlike our own, in the United States of America.
- The US government and its federal and state subdivisions are noted for their extreme corruption--run by the Illuminati, an ancient clan
- of LaVeyan satanists, who, in accordance with their epicurean and egoist philosophies, seek simply to attain as much power
- and money as possible, the government is structured to serve the clandestine interests of this conspiracy, and
- a few thousand dollars can get you pretty much anything. As an result of this corruption, there is an
- extreme divide between the rich and the poor because of the Illuminati's greed; heightened taxes, extortion and other
- illicit extracurriculars take a toll on the average citizen. The U.S. government eventually
- discovers cloning technology, and breed several armies of police forces and paramilitary units to enforce their rule.
- In addition, the government attempts to dull the minds of civilians by lacing the water with Bardatrin, a drug
- designed to reduce critical thinking skills. Its effects are not consistent, but it is incredibly potent on the
- individuals who are not resistant to it, leading to a populace that is eccentric at best and mindlessly suicidal
- in the presence of danger at worst. The country eventually settles into a less totalitarian state, but the economic
- strife of the lower classes continues and the government remains highly corrupt. Sometime during the summer of 2011,
- Archibald Grewer, a former government official and retired career criminal, eventually becomes fed up with the state
- of America and decides to wage war against the government by taking what they love most--money--and using it to help
- the victims of the recession. Grewer takes up the mantle of 'Bain', and using his extensive contacts in both the government
- and criminal world, launches Crime.net, a safe haven and forum for all forms of criminals. Afterwords, he scans the
- criminal world for a professional team to re-allocate some of the world's wealth, and thus, the Payday Gang was born.
- STARRING:
- Archibald Grewer as "Bain"
- No particular basis, as there aren't any leads. Just thought it sounded cool.
- Nathan "Dallas" Steele as "The Assault/The Mastermind"
- This name, whether it be true or alias, has been used by Dallas numerous times.
- Gary "(New) Hoxton/Houston" Steele as "The Ghost"
- The name of a cop that Derek Ray played on the show Southland. Thought it coincided nicely with Dallas' name.
- Nicolas "Chains" Fernandez as "The Support/The Enforcer"
- Chains is referred to as Nicolas in the John Wick introductory trailer. I chose this last name for him as a reference
- to the fact that Chains was originally to be a Chilean.
- James "(Old) Hoxton" Bowditch as "The Sharpshooter/The Fugitive"
- This one is interesting. In the Dentist's trailer, he refers to Hoxton as Jim Hoxworth. While his last name is likely
- made up, his first name could be real. His last name is a bit more complicated--during the 2013 Christmas album's
- Intro track, Hox's lawyer starts to say his name--Mr "Bo"--before being cut off. Bowditch is a common English
- surname, and goes along with my theory that the GO Bank car shop, Jimbo's, is in fact named after Hoxton.
- Ulf "Wolf" Andersson as "The Technician"
- We don't really have any clues on Wolf's name. However, due to the fact that Wolf is so heavily based on and
- inspired by Ulf Andersson, it's not so far a stretch to say that Wolf is Ulf.
- John Wick as "The Hitman"
- Do I really need to explain this one?
- Aoife "Clover" Duffin as "The Burglar"
- Same as Wolf--no hints as of yet, so her voice actor serves as a fill-in.
- "Dragan" Zubovic as "The Infiltrator"
- Alias used by Dragan in the Bomb Heists trailer.
- "Bonnie" McGee as "The Gambler"
- I'm running out of ideas.
- "Sokol" Boucarim as "The Grinder"
- Send help please
- Togo "Jiro" Igawa as "The Yakuza"
- pls b0ss
- Edgar "Bodhi" Ramirez as "The Ex-President"
- pls
- Sharlto "Casey Jones" "Jimmy" Copley as "The Maniac"
- Drivin' that train, high on cocaine...
- Kelli "Sydney" King as "The Anarchist"
- Name is mentioned in the FBI Files.
- Tom "Rust" Bishop as "The Biker"
- Name is mentioned in the FBI Files.
- Some neat pieces of possible backstory:
- Dallas is possibly a much more moral individual than one would expect from the leader of the Payday Gang.
- He rose to the top of the Chicago Mob to become a hitman, and presumably led a very lavish life as a result
- of his position. Aside from an unlikely internal rivalry (which still does not explain why Dallas attempted to
- destroy two mobs instead of just the one he was working for) Dallas probably caused the mob war because he was
- fed up with the immoral actions of the mob. He also would have little reason to want to harm the entire American
- drug trade outside of having a genuine desire to see it gone.
- Given that Dallas is the crew's Mastermind and several of the tree's skills relate to healing, it is possible that
- Dallas studied medicine sometime during his life and is at the very least extensively skilled with first aid and is
- familiar with pharmacology.
- Dallas is said to have run an underground gun range while hiding from the mob. It is possible that he hid in
- the city of Dallas, which is known for its more lax gun laws, possibly providing the origin for his nickname.
- Chains (especially in the first game) uses much street vernacular (words such as 'homie') and speaks with a very
- typical urban African American tone, possibly suggesting he was in a gang during his childhood.
- Wolf has an unusual amount of knowledge about explosives, hacking, and technological weaponry than one would
- normally expect from a regular, every day software development expert. It is possible that Wolf's company
- was centered around developing technology for the military and police. If this is true, it is also possible
- that GenSec (then probably a smaller, fledgling company) is the one that drained Wolf of all of his money, given
- the success of Wolf's company and the current size of GenSec, as well as their weaponry and high tech systems.
- Wolf is consistently described as mentally unstable and ruthless; while he does show some signs of instability
- in-game, he is more harmlessly eccentric than outright psychopathic. It is therefore likely that he attained
- help and recovered from his breakdown, as he is shown to be normally relatively calm and not overly aggressive
- to civilians.
- Hoxton is described as having fought in unliscensed boxing matches. As Wick is stated to have a background is boxing,
- it is likely that this is where the two met, and why Hoxton speaks to Wick during the breakout heist as if the two
- know each other.
- Despite in-game depictions, it is probable that Mr. Davidson and Mr. Petrusic (the manager of The First World Bank
- and the CFO of The Garnet Group, respectively) survived the Payday Gang's heists on their businesses. In the first
- game, newspapers can be found that claim that the Payday Gang killed Mr. Davidson, and the most common outcome of
- Diamond Heist is Mr. Petrusic's death. However, both Mr. Davidson and Mr. Petrusic are seen on the microsite
- for the Death Wish update in Payday 2's graphical style giving testimonials. This, coupled with the crew's
- policy of not killing civilians, makes it unlikely that the canon outcomes of First World Bank and Diamond Heist
- are the two's deaths. These two outcomes likely are stated in-game because the newspaper had inaccurate sources,
- and for game balance/RNG, respectively.
- Except in extraordinarily dire situations, the crew does not kill civilians on purpose and avoids accidents.

- Clover's "Burglar" class is comprised of the Ghost coupled with Burglar.
- Dragan's "Infiltrator" class is comprised of the Enforcer coupled with Infiltrator.
- Jacket's "Sociopath" class is comprised of the Enforcer coupled with Sociopath.
- Bonnie's "Gambler" class is comprised of the Mastermind coupled with Gambler.
- Sokol's "Grinder" class is comprised of the Technician coupled with Grinder.
- Jiro's "Yakuza" class is comprised of the Enforcer coupled with Yakuza.

- Pre-October, 2011: Bain begins to reach out to the crew members. His first pick is Nathan Steele, a former Chicago mobster
- turned unliscened physician, gun smuggler, and occasional bank robber who showed incredible intellectual
- skill in turning two mafia families against each other and surviving the fallout. Bain contacts Steele,
- who is currently residing in the city of Dallas, to gather three other promising individuals and to create
- an effective antidote for Bardatrin to distrubute to the crew and the public. Steele concocts the antidote
- and sends it to Bain before utilizing the Crime.net prototype to search for individuals of note. Steele learns
- of three candidates that fill the needs of the crew rather well: Ulf Andersson, the crazed CEO of a major
- software development and defense firm that recently went bankrupt due to competition with the up and coming
- GenSec, James Bowditch, a bank robber with a criminal record notorious for his shrewd calmness under
- pressure and his legendary aim, and Nicholas Fernandez, a former Navy SEAL turned mercenary who has
- gained a reputation as a highly efficient soldier, if not an ill-tempered one.
- August 7, 2011: Steele asks Bain to reach out to the three criminals and arrange a meeting. The next day, Steele, Andersson,
- Bowditch and Fernandez hook up at a bar. After sharing a few drinks and getting to know each other, Steele
- reveals Bain's plan to wage war against the corrupted government, help the poor, and get bloody rich in the
- process. After interviewing each other quite thoroughly, the four swear alligence to each other and the cause,
- and the Payday Gang is born. Using Bain to cover their tracks and keep evidence out of the hands of the law,
- the four men embark on the most epic spree of robberies and heists the world has ever seen. The crew design
- masks and take up mantles: Steele names himself 'Dallas' after the city that became his home after Chicago threw
- him out. Andersson names himself 'Wolf' for his fierce attitude, capacity for violence, and strong survivial
- instinct. Bowditch names himself 'Hoxton' after the place he was arrested. Fernandez names himself 'Chains'
- after the hardened life he endured in the Navy SEALs.
- The crew also select their specialties. Dallas arms himself heavily as the Assault, Chains wields more special-purpose
- weaponry as the Support, Hoxton uses precision weaponry and defensive equipment as the Sharpshooter, and Wolf endows himself
- with as many gadgets and prototypes as possible as the Technician.
- Early-mid October, 2011: Bain assembles the crew.
- October 21, 2011-July 25, 2012: The first six heists put the Payday Gang on the map. The crew commits these heists in and around New York City.
- 1. First World Bank: The crew hit Manhattan's prestigious First World Bank in a cash heist. The four Payday Gang members
- storm the front lobby, and take a key card taken from the manager, Mr. Davidson. In the panic of the first moments of the heist,
- Wolf punches the manager in the face so hard that he falls unconscious, and is mistakenly pronounced dead after the heist. The
- crew retrieve a drill and thermite from the server room before wiping the security footage. After drilling the front security gate,
- the crew use thermite to breach the vault, bag eight bags of cash, and escape through the opened vault doors, through the bank,
- into a connected office building by blowing a hole through the wall with C4, and into an alley where they escape in a garbage truck.
- 2. Embassy heist, double cross, and Heat Street: The gang commit an unexpectedly easy heist at the French embassy in Manhattan, stealing a priceless set of printing plates. During their escape, the crew's driver, Matt, betrays them and locks them in the building before driving away in the van. The crew chase him through the streets on foot before finding him crashed in an industrial parking lot. The crew set the van on fire to force him out only to discover that he has handcuffed the briefcase containing the plates to his wrist. Without the tools to remove the briefcase, the crew escort Matt to the top of a hill where they are extracted by a helicopter piloted by a new associate named Alex.
- 3. Panic Room: The crew set up a phoney drug deal with a gang in the Bronx, who have a panic room filled with cash and cocaine. After gaining access to the upper floors and opening the room containing the panic room. The crew saw the panic room off of the floor and blow multiple holes in the building to allow Alex (who skillfully dropped the C4 all the way in the back of the alley) to carry it away with a magnetic winch. The crew escape through the sewers, and Bain laments the short supply of competent pilots.
- 4. Green Bridge: The crew are hired by a Chinese businessman to free his son, who has been convicted of grand theft auto while on vacation and is scheduled to be moved to prison on a transport convoy. The crew rig the Varrazano-Narrows Bridge with explosives, and trigger them after using a diversion to create a gap in the traffic and stop all of the vehicles. As planned, the explosion doesn't kill any civilians, but an oil tanker is damaged, creating a larger explosion and drawing more attention to the scene. The crew saw open the trucks, locate the prisoner (codenamed 'Giant') and bring him to the top of a scaffolded construction site. The crew's biplane pilot, James, uses a skyhook to carry off the prisoner in a secure chair, and the crew fight their way down the bridge and escape with scuba gear.
- 5. Diamond Heist: The crew stealthily infiltrate the Garnet Group headquarters in Times Square, intending to rob its vault of $20 million in rare gems. The crew successfully deactivate all three alarm boxes, but the alarm is still set off when it is revealed that the codes the crew bought from the Garnet Group's CFO, Mr. Petrusic, were fake. The crew scrambles to find the CFO, who is dancing at a birthday party being held for Mr. Garnet's son, Ralph. Even when held at gunpoint in a helicopter piloted by Bain, the CFO refuses to relinquish the codes. Mr. Garnet is also uncooperative, caring little for the CFO's life. With millions of dollars invested in the heist, the crew have no other options, and are forced to kill the CFO to allow the heist to be a success. Bain drops the CFO through the glass dome, but positions him over the chandelier to allow him a chance for his fall to be broken. The CFO is knocked out from the fall, but appears dead on the security cameras. Mr. Garnet, seeing this, caves in and personally gives the crew the correct codes. The crew reach the vault and easily clean it out, but Hoxton, mesmerized by a huge red diamond in a pressure-sensitive room, opens the door to retrieve it. The cops are sent into overdrive to protect the giant diamond, and the crew use their glass cutter to reach the diamond. The crew force Bain to come back around seven times because of the cops' assault before they can escape.
- 6. Slaughterhouse: The crew commit once last heist before taking a break to recoup. Bain learns of a GenSec transport guarded by Murkywater mercenaries moving through Staten Island's slaughterhouse district. The transport is carrying sixteen gold bullions, and the crew refuse to let is get past them. The crew trap the convoy in place with a pair of garbage trucks, and use a front loader to push the armored car through the roof of a slaughterhouse. The crew drill it open, extract the gold, and place it in a shipping container in the back of the building. The crew block the view of police helicopters with an improvised smokescreen. and hide an incendiary trap to stop police from following them during their escape. The crew use a remote-controlled crane to place the gold and the trap, and escape through a tunnel of shipping containers, setting them on fire behind them. The crew jump in the back of a truck and leave the scene.
- Night of July 26, 2012: After watching a toxic combination of soap operas and horror movies,
- Wolf has a dream where the crew prevents the zombie apocalypse by breaking
- into Mercy Hospital and killing Patient Zero under the guise of a heist.
- The crew take control of the lobby, identify the patient, and put on doctor
- disguises before making their way into the Intensive Care Unit.
- The crew listen to Dr. Anderson telling them about three patients, and
- correlate the correct unit with a wire. The crew open the unit and begin
- to draw blood from Mr. Williams, as they were hired by an anonymous client
- to procure two vials of his blood for unknown purposes. The crew attempt to
- escape through an elevator, but it breaks down, and Bain leaves the crew
- behind after realizing the Army is using missiles on the hospital.
- The crew escape through the morgue, where they see bodies coming back to life.
- The put a few rounds in them and Wolf tells the crew that the safest thing is
- to dispose of the blood. He wakes up very confused, but shrugs it off and
- plays some Left 4 Dead with his friends.
- August 7, 2012: Wolf has a conversation with Bain, where he reveals that he has hacked into GenSec's
- databases and uncovered vital information regarding their operations and interests,
- leading to two high-stakes heists.
- August 7-December 12, 2012: Wolf's heists.
- 8. Counterfeit: The crew fly down to Miami, Florida, where two men, Mitchell and Wilson, have been printing
- counterfeit money for GenSec in their secret bunker. Posing as workers for Bhodi's Pool Repair, the
- Payday Gang storm their houses during a barbeque, hack their security boxes, and infiltrate their bunker.
- The crew is tantalized by the large amounts of cash, but the bunker is rigged with C4 and the pool explodes.
- The crew drill a hole in their safe--intending to steal the printing plates--and fill it with water
- before exploding it. The crew escape--once again--through the sewers. During the heist, Dallas notices
- numerous odd symbols and patterns in the pair's houses, and tells Bain to write them down. The gang also
- records a mysterious static coming the radios.
- 9. Undercover: Bain informs the crew that Eugene Sturr, an IRS agent, will be using $25 million in taxpayer cash
- to perform a deal with a large corporation in downtown Washington, D.C. He is also carrying a server containing said funds
- and vital information. However, he is set up, and the crew's snatch-and-grab turns into a battle. Alex uses a crane to pick
- up the Taxman's limo, but drops it on a balcony, and Bain once again calls himself an idiot for hiring Alex. Wolf and Dallas
- interrogate Sturr, who eventually cracks and gives them the credentials needed to access the server. The crew steal the $25
- million and escape.
- December 13, 2012: The crew pieces together the clues they have encountered and
- return to First World Bank, where they trigger the opening
- of the Overvault and steal $70 million in Mayan gold from
- "Mr. Trust", a major financer of the government and GenSec's
- cloning programs, crippling the police forces' numbers for a while.
- Bain sells the gold to Colombian drug lord Hector Morales.
- December 22, 2012: Crime.net goes black and Bain and the crew go into hiding.
- Late December, 2012-Early August, 2013: James "Hoxton" Bowditch is captured by the FBI and sent to USP Hazelton.
- Dallas' younger brother, Gary Steele, takes up the mantle of Hoxton.
- August 13-September 12, 2013: The crew come out of hiding and begin a spree of major and minor heists in and around
- Washington, D.C. The crew starts working with Bain. Dallas and Chains agree to switch
- places, Dallas becoming the Mastermind, a supportive role, and Chains becoming the Enforcer,
- a more direct approach. Wolf remains the Technician, however, and Dallas' younger brother
- abandons the first Hoxton's school of marksmanship to bring some much-needed stealth to the
- crew.
- 1. Jewellery Store (Normal, stealth)
- The crew raid a Precious Things jewellery outlet to warm up their heisting muscles, and New Hoxton
- demonstrates the effectiveness of his ECM Jammers.
- 2. Bank Heist and its variants (Normal)
- The crew hits a series of four Hrvest & Trustee branch banks: once for cash, once for gold, once
- for the deposit boxes, and once for whatever is in there because Bain couldn't be arsed to check
- the damn schedule. Wolf begins a long, committed, and complex relationship with the thermal drill,
- while everyone else wishes Bain would quit yapping in their ears. Dallas also demonstrates a new
- technique that intimidates civilians using only weapon discharges, which makes Hoxton's job easier
- but disappoints Wolf, as he was looking forward to kneecapping the tellers.
- The crew begins working with Vladimir Kozak.
- 3. Four Stores (Normal)
- Vlad hires the crew to steal $15,000 from four stores he used to own, who have since began working
- with Russian mobsters. The crew giggle a bit at the newbie escapade, and don't take the planning
- very seriously. They get bitten in the ass when it turns out that Vlad forgot to tell them about the
- safes, guards, and cameras.
- 4. Mallcrasher (Normal)
- Vlad has the crew revitalize his protection racket by roughing up Mr. Stone's SHIELD Mall.
- 5. Nightclub (Normal, Wolf goes crazy on the dancefloor)
- Vlad begins the first half of his revenge crusade against his former friend Dimitri, who talked
- to the feds and landed him in jail for eight years. The crew steal cash and cocaine from the Tasteful
- nightclub, which Vlad formerly owned.
- 6. Ukrainian Job (Hard, C4 rush)
- Vlad informs the crew that Dimitri will soon be married, and has the crew steal the expensive tiara he
- bought for his bride. The job is laughably easy--Wolf simply jumps through the window and blows up every
- safe he can find--and the crew reminisce about it years later.
- The crew contacts Hector Morales and begins aiding his war against the Mendozas.
- 7. Watchdogs (Hard)
- Hector has the crew guard a shipment of cocaine in the back of a meat truck. The crew is ambushed by police,
- and fend off an assault before being extracted by an armored car. The crew load the cocaine onto a boat
- at a harbor, which the cops mysteriously staked out in advance as well.
- 8. Firestarter (Very Hard)
- Hector seeks to devastate the Mendoza cartel as much as possible. He has the crew steal two dozen AKMs from
- their private hangar. Afterwords, he sends the crew to the FBI branch office, where they steal a server with
- the location of the Mendozas' private bank. The crew infiltrate the bank, disable the electric precaution,
- and sadly burn over a hundred million dollars on tape. On the plus side, the gang put the video on YouTube
- for all to see and it gets more likes than Gangnam Style. They receive numerous angry calls from Psy later.
- 9. Rats (Very Hard, blow lab at some point, additional meth bags, betray Cobras, blow up bus)
- Hector learns that the Mendoza lieutenants are fleeing the country, and wants them dead. He informs the crew
- that the Mendozas are attacking his meth lab in the woods. The crew cook a few bags successfully, but Bain gives
- them the wrong ingredient one too many times and the lab blows up. It was an experience of a very powerful level,
- though, and the crew escape the scene. They trade the meth bags for intel on the Mendozas before stealing the meth
- and the cash they were paid for the additional bags. The crew intercept the Mendozas' bus and wipe them out before
- retrieving the cash they had on-board. The bus blows up when Chains fumbles a C4 defusal, but the crew get away with
- most of the money.
- The crew contacts Senator John Henry Simmons (aka The Elephant) and aids him in political engineering.
- 10. Big Oil (Very Hard)
- Simmons hires the Payday Gang to steal a prototype fusion engine developed by a Dr. Rossy. The gang
- steal intel on Rossy's location from the Overkill M.C. before assaulting his villa in the mountains.
- The crew collect clues from around his house to figure out which of the twelve engines is functional
- before shipping it to Bain. The crew correctly identify the engine, but create a functional replica
- before giving the original real one to the Elephant...just in case.
- 11. Framing Frame (Overkill, stealth, gold)
- The Elephant hires the crew to frame his rival, Senator Burico, by planting cocaine in his mansion.
- The crew steal a set of paintings the senator was interested in buying and sell them back to him after
- planting cameras in them. While infiltrating Burico's apartment, Bain peruses Burico's files and discovers
- that the senator is in fact guilty of many crimes, including weapons trafficking and drug trafficking, and
- has been paid in gold by a rogue state for a recent weapons sale. The crew plant the cocaine, steal the Sentor's
- gold, and Bain uploads the evidence to the press to add some extra wham. The Elephant is pleased.
- September 13, 2013: Gioelli d'Famiglia opens.
- 12. Diamond Store (Overkill, stealth)
- October 31, 2013: Wolf has more nightmares, imagining a swarm of headless Bulldozers setting the safe house
- on fire. Dallas prescribes more medication.
- November 14-20, 2013: Codename: Armored Transport commences. Gage sends the crew some old animal masks and guns
- straight from 60's action movies, and the crew take down five GenSec transports before
- stealing a high-tech Mann Company turret on route to the Pentagon.
- DLC UNLOCK: Armored Transport
- 13. Transport: Park (Overkill)
- 14. Transport: Harbor (Overkill)
- 15. Transport: Downtown (Overkill)
- 16. Transport: Underpass (Overkill)
- 17. Transport: Crossroads (Overkill)
- 18. Train Heist (Overkill, all ammo)
- December 5, 2013: Gage releases his first standalone shipment of weapons to the Payday Gang, including
- a heavy-caliber assault rifle, a classic pistol, and an SMG. However, he fails to give the crew
- matching tactical vests, and as a result the gang can barely hold more than eighty rounds with
- any of the guns. Bain gets another associate to provide proper heist attire and Gage sticks
- to giving the crew guns.
- DLC UNLOCK: Gage Weapon Pack #1
- December 16, 2013: The Charlie Santa heist goes down.
- 19. GO Bank (Overkill)
- December 19, 2013: Old Hoxton consults his lawyer while in prison, who informs him that there is no way
- for him to be released. With the help of some other inmates, Old Hoxton creates
- a Christmas album and sends it to the crew.
- January 22, 2014: The crew officially become infamous. To hide from the law for a bit, they burn
- all of their on-hand cash, sell their specialized equipment, and replace their
- traditional masks with pairs of HUD-enabled RayBan aviators. They become more
- efficient with their specialized equipment once they reclaim it.
- January 30, 2014: In response to the crew's rapidly increasing firepower and capabilities, the police
- reintroduce the Cloaker units. The crew prepares accordingly, arming themselves with
- Gage's second weapon shipment--a package of light machine guns and knives. Chains
- loses his shit.
- DLC UNLOCK: Gage Weapon Pack #2
- February 27, 2014: The Cloaker units proving to not be enough to stop the crew, the police work together
- with GenSec to create a next-gen response force specifically to combat the Payday Gang--
- Codename: Death Wish. GenSec deploys Titan safes and cameras, hardened, titanium versions
- of the classic security devices that cannot be destroyed. GenSec also start putting Elite
- cops into the field, armed with special weaponry, as well as heavily armed and armored
- Bulldozers.
- March 20, 2014: The Elephant once again seeks the aid of the crew, this time to put his friend Bob McKendrick
- in the office of Mayor of Washington, DC. In return, McKendrick and The Elephant move Old Hoxton
- to a lower-security prison in preparation for his eventual breakout. Bain equips the crew
- with new stealth gear. Although this initially elates New Hoxton, he becomes disheartened when
- he finds that he just doesn't have the strength to shove infinite body bags into his pants, and
- Dallas is sad to see that the pager guy can now hear him screaming at guards. To compensate,
- Dallas also receives a special present from McKendrick and Gage.
- WEAPON UNLOCK: Chimano Custom
- 20. Election Day (Death Wish, stealth)
- April 10, 2014: Gage gives the crew the "Courier Assignment"--the Payday Gang are to collect packages all over
- DC, containing high-end weapon modifications, and return them to Gage. In return, Gage donates
- hefty portions of the mods to the crew. Gage also upgrades the crew's weapon optics for free.
- DLC UNLOCK: Gage Courier Job Pack
- May 8, 2014: Gage sends his fourth hardware package to the crew--a shipment of high-caliber sniper rifles. If
- only Old Hoxton were there. Bain also makes arrangements to make vantage points available
- to the crew. Nobody ever uses them, and Bain feels silly.
- DLC UNLOCK: Gage Sniper Pack
- May 29, 2014: Through Bain, Gage sends the crew on a mission to break into a Murkywater compound and retrieve
- as many valuables as possible. Because of the sensitive nature of the PMC industry, and the
- fact that Gage has jobs coming up that involve Murkywater, there must be no evidence of the
- crew's involvement--therefore, alarms and cops are out of the question. No pressure, Hox.
- 21. Shadow Raid (Death Wish, stealth, samurai armor)
- June 3, 2014: During an appointment, Dallas is introduced to a new contact--a shadowy figure calling
- himself simply "The Dentist". The Dentist offers not only three high-level heists on major
- targets--the Benevolent Bank, the National Gallery and the Golden Grin Casino--but a plan
- to finally break Old Hoxton out of prison. Dallas, on behalf of the rest of the crew, agrees.
- June 17, 2014: The crew make history by breaking America's oldest and most respected bank--the Benevolent.
- DLC UNLOCK: The Big Bank
- 22. The Big Bank (Death Wish)
- July 3, 2014: Gage releases a shipment of special-purpose shotguns and ammo types. Cue Wolf killing Bulldozers
- while laughing manically.
- DLC UNLOCK: Gage Shotgun Pack
- August 7, 2014: Gage gives the crew a compact, ultra-powerful shotgun pistol to celebrate the crew's anniversary

- June 24, 2015: In preparation for the upcoming Golden Grin Casino heist, Bain reaches out to a Russian contact
- of his in order to set up a meeting with Sokol Boucarim, a veteran casino heister and Red Army
- combat engineer. However, Bain's contact fumbles his own contact list, and instead gives Bain
- a meeting with Vlad's cousin Sokol Kozak, a short-tempered hockey superstar with ties to the
- criminal underworld. Although Bain does not immediately realize whom he is speaking with, Kozak
- takes full advantage of the meeting and shrewdly negotiates a high cut. However, once Bain slows
- the interview down and asks some hard questions about heisting, it quickly becomes obvious that
- he is talking to an ambitious hockey player and not a seasoned robber and engineer. Bain pays
- Kozak to forget everything they have discussed and angrily confronts his contact, demanding
- a meeting with Boucarim, which is arranged. The meeting goes well, and Boucarim is accepted
- into the Payday Gang as a supplementary technician alongside Wolf after spending time in Croatia
- with The Butcher to get an idea of how the Payday Gang operate.. As a dowry of sorts, Sokol
- gets Bain to have a tunnel boring machine shipped to the safe house, where Sokol strips it down
- in front of the crew and repurposes it as a drill. Satisfied and impressed, the crew welcome Sokol
- and have a game of hockey to cool down before the heist.
- June 25, 2015: The Golden Grin Casino heist goes down. The crew attempt a silent entry, but their driver falls asleep
- at the wheel and rams them straight into the front of the casino. The crew collect their gear and break into
- the Golden Grin's armory, which mysteriously houses eight pounds of C4. The crew blow a hole in the floor and
- attach Sokol's BFD, a metal frame laser cutter about the size of a shack that had to be hastily assembled when
- it became apparent that the tunnel boring machine was too heavy to carry with a blimp and could not be moved to
- reveal the hole. The crew use a winch dropped by Bile to attach the BFD and allow it to cut a hole in the vault
- ceiling. The crew loot the many bags of cash before entering the center of the vault, housing a mysterious wooden
- box. The box looks ancient, bearing golden detailing and the logo of the Illuminati. Confused, the crew bag the box
- and escape. The Dentist later tells the crew that this is not the loot he asked the crew to retrieve, but still pays them
- as it was the only thing there aside from cash. The crew, not entirely trusting of the Dentist, suspect him of not being
- honest with them, but without further leads, leave it to Bain to investigate him.

He reveals that he has been travelling abroad and has spent some time in Japan, where he has picked up some stealth equipment with a ninjutsu slant. The crew are baffled why he includes a sniper rifle and the notoriously bulky Kross Vertex, but nevertheless appreciate the crossbow, shuriken, and concealable melee weapons.
- DLC UNLOCK: GAGE NINJA PACK
- August 13, 2015: In celebration of the second anniversary of the crew's D.C. crime campaign, Bain sends each heister a deck of razor-sharp playing cards for those who used all of their shurikens.

- August 19, 2015: After Dallas, Hoxton, Wick, Dragan and Bonnie complain that they've been feeling a little underpowered for a while, Bain sends them updated sets of equipment. Most of them are happy, but Wick still gets snubbed and Houston finds that he's getting shot about 5% more.
- August 28, 2015: Bain is contacted by a man named Jiro, a former Yakuza who is searching for his son, Kento. Jiro tells Bain his story: he was abandoned by his father at a young age, lost his mother shortly after, and joined a group of thieves to survive. Jiro eventually joined the Yakuza, but was betrayed by them after he broke the rule of not fornicating with the boss' daughter, Yoshimi, with whom Jiro had Kento. After surviving the attempt on his life, Jiro served twenty years in prison, after which he discovered that Yoshimi had died and Kento was missing. Jiro interrogated and then murdered his old boss, and set off to America to find Kento, knowing that he must contact Bain for information. Bain, seeing an opportunity, hires Jiro as an extra gun in exchange for helping him find his son. The crew welcome Jiro, but find that he brought an incredibly poorly-made Mini Uzi and a new katana with him, in addition to him not being able to speak English well. Bain makes the crew learn some basic Japanese so that they can communicate, and forbids Jiro from trying to answer pagers. The crew hit a jewelry store to break Jiro in, and return to the safe house where they find that a giant red safe is in the middle of the floor. The crew are unable to open it but suspect that Bain is messing with them.
- October 15, 2015: Before beginning their anniversary celebrations, the crew take some time off. During a jog, Chains runs into Vlad in a park, who tells him that he's secured a contract with a massive syndicate in Seattle that run a weapon customization ring, making, selling, and shipping carefully crafted weapon decorations. Chains doubts Vlad and leaves. Later that day, the crew realize Vlad wasn't bullshitting them--Vlad is intent on charging the crew for random weapon skins, some of which are packaged with specially-tooled boosts to the weapon's efficiency. The crew are apalled both by the lack of quality in the Seattle ring's product and Vlad's attempts to exploit them. The crew learned the ring is backed by the super-corporation Overkill, Inc., who have ties to the government and the Baldwin conspiracy, and are Bain's secret source of most of the crew's equipment. As revenge for refusing their offer, Overkill sets off a series of seismic bombs and increases Bardatrin volume in the water, driving America into a psychotic earthquake apocalypse, not unlike the climax of a certain role-playing game about a man who doesn't ask for anything, but with more explosions.
- October 17, 2015: Vlad asks the crew to retrieve some safes from Los Angeles, which has been hit hard by the earthquakes and psychotic drug-induced riots. The crew reluctantly accept, seeking some way to repair their relationship with Vlad and convince Overkill, Inc. to release a cure. Overkill does nothing, however, and the Armageddon continues.
- 36. Aftershock (Death Wish) (Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, Wolf)
- October 18-24, 2015: Overkill, Inc. send the crew an onslaught of mediocre gifts in an attempt to detract from their focus on the zombie earthquakes
- October 25, 1015: As the apocalypse rages on, the CEO of Overkill, Inc. holds a meeting with the crew as they attempt to persuade him to put an end to the chaos and rescind the safes. However, the CEO doesn't see the harm, and states that, from an economical standpoint, the chaos is working as intended. They add that they had not always planned for the chaos but that over time financial goals change. The crew beg for the Seattle ring to at least stop selling stat-boosting skins, but they are bluntly refused. The crew, confused and disgusted, cut the meeting off, buy a fallout shelter, and attempt to ride out the storm.
- October 29, 2015: Wolf has a dream where the crew are shrinked to the size of action figures and cook meth on a giant table, fighting spiders and a full-size Cloaker. He wakes up, and while the crew comforts him, he assures them that the reality of their current situation is much more horrifying than his dream was.
- November 13, 2015: Vlad sends the crew limited edition safes they had preordered months ago, and the crew find that many of the skins they receive are low-quality, while others grant them inexplicable boosts to the amount of cash they find during their heists. The crew is outraged that Vlad betrayed his promise that their special item would be cosmetic only, and in response, Overkill, Inc. detonates more seismic bombs, driving the country further into chaos.
- November 18, 2015: Bain, the primary liason between the crew and Vlad and Overkill, Inc. holds a private meeting with the CEO, who states that he has no idea how to placate the crew and end the riots, and steadfastly holds that the ring will continue to barrage the crew with offers of skins. They also reveal that their updates for the crew's Infamy progression has had no work and that while they are interested in compensating members who bought Vlad's limited edition Ultimate Hype Pack, they have no idea how to do so.
- November 20, 2015: A high-ranking and influential shareholder of Overkill, Inc. publicly denounces the crew, calling them delusional for expecting so much from Overkill, Inc. The riots reach an all-time high--with America almost completely destroyed by Overkill's seismic bombs and Bardatrin overdoses, the crew and Bain decide to end it all. They hack the president's email and send an inflammatory declaration of war to Putin, who responds by nuking the country clean. Disillusioned by their futile attempts to change the world for the better, Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, Wolf, Houston, Sokol, Bonnie, Clover, Dragan, Jiro, Wick, and Bain enter cryosleep as the country burns, and wake up some 200 years later to the tune of Dean Martin.
- Night of November 20, 2015: Wolf dashes out of bed in a cold sweat and runs to the kitchen. He steps on a Lego, and his screams wake the rest of the crew. All draped in bathrobes, the crew listen to Wolf's nightmare of their former partners, Overkill and Vlad, betraying them and causing them to burn the world out of mercy. The crew inform Wolf that, in actuality, despite the occurrence of the Aftershock heist and Overkill, Inc.'s mistakes, the largest public disruption is a controversy over Overkill's attempts to put the syndicate's low-quality skins onto the civilian market (without informing anyone that they're produced by a criminal organization, of course). Vlad is continuing to offer skins to the crew, but Overkill never actually induced psychotic riots or launched seismic bombs--the Los Angeles earthquake was naturally-occurring. With Overkill and Vlad making seemingly-genuine efforts to repair their relationship with the crew after their skin fiasco, the crew forgive them for the present moment and attempt to move on.
- November 27, 2015: With business attempting to continue as usual, the crew get another scare when Bain informs them that Crime.net has been hacked by an individual calling himself Locke. Locke states to the crew that although he works for Murkywater, who have ordered him to infiltrate Crime.net and shut it down, he would prefer to work with the crew and keep his coworkers off their back. He leaves it at that, and the crew remain shaken and confused.
- December 3, 2015: Locke introduces the crew to Bodhi, a highly athletic and spiritual criminal known for daring heists that combine robbery and extreme sports. Locke uses his Murkywater connections to set the crew up with two jobs: one to strike their base hidden in the buttes of Monument Valley, Utah and steal a Renaissance portrait of Jupiter, a prototype seismic manipulation device, ancient Hindu idol and one of Murkywater's master servers; and another to seize three palettes of cash from a moving airplane.
- 37. Under the Mountain (Death Wish) (Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, Bodhi) (All four main loots)

He wakes up in the safehouse tied to his bed as the crew attempt to figure out what the hell happened to him and why there's a bunch of stolen Ithaca 37s in the refrigerator.
- DLC UNLOCK: GOAT SIMULATOR
- February 11, 2016: Wolf apologizes to the crew by ordering a shipment of reproduction China Lake grenade launchers and brags about the two incredibly lucrative contracts he found for the crew back in the day by hacking the FBI's database.
- DLC UNLOCK: THE WOLF PACK
- March 25, 2016: The crew travel to Los Angeles. Dallas meets with the Elephant, who offers to set him up with a job to steal "research samples" from a secret Russian laboratory for a Russian man named Akan. The Elephant claims that Akan can do "shit you wouldn't believe"; upon Dallas' cocky requests for a demonstration, Akan uses apparent psychic abilities to slam a waitress' head against the ground and slide her body across the floor. Dallas is restrained by the Elephant and Akan's guards, and meets up with Chains, Hoxton, and Wolf in a hotel room (after a pair of women murder his bodyguards in an elevator) only to find them held hostage by s South African man who tells Dallas he's on their side and asks them to work for him. Upon the crew's refusal, he shoots himself in the head, only to reappear from a closet, snorting cocaine, speaking in a frantic and angry manner (differing from his previous, calm disposition) and his appearance changed from a suit and slicked hair to black bellbottoms, a crimson silk shirt and a brown afro. He claims that he is the good guy, that Akan is "pure fuckin' evil", and that they have an opportunity to "save the world" (sweetening the deal by matching Akan's fee and adding a $50,000 bonus).
- DLC UNLOCK: JIMMY CHARACTER PACK
- March 31, 2016: With the help of Locke, the crew infiltrate a Murkywater trainyard early in the morning and steal an EMP bomb. Later that day, they fly over the Siberian wilderness to a lumber mill concealing a laboratory. It is mostly abandoned, with the bodies of test subjects (presumably implanted with the same technology Akan got his abilities from) killed by the EMP, as well as the impaled body of the lead scientist, whose hand the crew cut off to activate a scanner. The crew scan the three test subjects and take a server containing the resulting information as well as a mysterious briefcase.

The Elephant agrees to help Bain retrieve a biotechnological device, similar in nature to Akan's research, from the Overkill MC, provided he saves and secures the loyalty of a single member, veteran Tom "Rust" Bishop. Bishop is persuaded to join and helps the new, 15-man Payday Gang raid his former clubmates' freight train to retrieve the Brain-Computer Interface Unit.
