  1. It had been weeks since the incident with Ronnie Anne, and Lincoln's black eye had been progressively healing ever since. All of the sister's in the house had figured he'd be much angrier with them and down than he was, however, he was happier than ever! His normal exasperation for dealing with his sister's antics had been replaced instead with brushing them off completely, usually as he's walking out the front door whistling a tune.
  2.
  3. However, Lynn in particular had noticed some things changing. First off, he had a backlog of comics in his room, unopened. Second, he was coming home much later than normal on school days, with no signs of the day's fatigue on his face and as cheery as ever.
  4.
  5. The most jarring for Lynn, however, was his complete disappearance on weekends. It was normal for Lincoln just to sit at home and read comics or sometimes hang out with Clyde, but him being gone for an entire day was odd. Finally, 5 weeks after the Ronnie Anne incident, Lynn was compelled to find out just where he was going all this time.
  6.
  7. Waking up earlier than she normally did on a Saturday, she sat up and creeped to the door, looking over to make sure her goth roommate was still asleep. As she opened the door, she was shocked to see Lincoln already heading downstairs, fully dressed and ready for the day.
  8.
  9. "Hey bro!" She called out, causing Lincoln to freeze mid-stride and whip around. "Where ya' off to so early?"
  10.
  11. Even from where she was, the apprehension on Lincoln's face was clear as day. "Oh! Aha...uh, just...you know, going for a walk!" He said, pointing downstairs while putting on the worst attempt at a reassuring smile she had ever seen.
  12.
  13. "Come on bro, you really think your acting skills are THAT good?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow at the ever increasingly jittery Loud.
  14.
  15. "Listen Lynn, i-it's so early! You should just...go back to bed!" He inched down the steps as he spoke, looking back every few seconds to make sure he doesn't lose his footing. "A-And we all know you need as much energy as you can for uh...whatever sport you're doing today! So you n-need to..." Before he even finished, he lurched down the stairs, desperately trying to get to the door. Unfortunately for Lincoln, Lynn bolted down after him and, just before he reached the doorknob, he felt himself get pulled back by the neck.
  16.
  17. Lynn quickly wrapped an arm around her younger brother's neck and pulled him inward, locking him in a choke hold. "Wow, that's a new one Linc! You usually don't straight up run away!" She applied firm pressure onto his neck, enough to at least get some information, she figured. "So you're going to tell me, or you're not going anywhere!"
  18.
  19. Lincoln flopped helplessly around in the much more athletic girl's hold, grasping at her arms and kicking around in front of him to break free. "Ack! F-Fine...! Let me go!" He wheezed out.
  20.
  21. Cautiously, Lynn obliged, smiling happy to herself, knowing she was still superior to her younger brother. "Alright then, explain!"
  22.
  23. "I was going out...t-to meet someone." Lincoln was rubbing his neck, due to both the embarrassment and the choke hold from before. "I would rather not tell you though..."
  24.
  25. Something he said struck a chord in Lynn. For whatever reason, she found herself hurt that her brother wouldn't confide in her. "Wait...why? We're family Linc! Wait...are you and Clyde...?" Lynn asked, thinking it wasn't outside the realm of possibility. They had always been close, and they would do almost everything together. Maybe they just decided to finally go for it. They're only 11 after a-
  26.
  27. "W-What?! No! No, nothing like that Lynn!" He exclaimed, for whatever reason red in the face. "It's really not a big deal, okay? So just drop it."
  28.
  29. "Come ON Linc, just tell me! I just want to kn-" Before she could even finish, Lincoln had turned his back on her and was halfway out the door.
  30.
  31. "Please don't bother, I really don't want you guys to meddle. You've done enough. Really." With that, he strode beyond the door and closed it silently. Lynn sat there, his words resonating within her. The last time he had said that, she and her sisters didn't listen and he got hurt by their encouragement for him. She still felt bad about him urging Lincoln to kiss that girl, and the results had left her pretty down for a few days, constantly apologizing to Lincoln. Even though she wasn't solely to blame, she couldn't help but feel like she was all at fault.
  32.
  33. However, there was something far worse that she felt in her stomach than just sorrow for her actions. It was like a pit that she couldn't make go away. It took her a few moments to realize just what she was feeling.
  34.
  35. Whoever or whatever was keeping Lincoln from the house, she was madly jealous of it.
