(Sorry for the really long text, I wanted to be detailed)
So the entire story to begin:
Our mothers were good friends in school, and have known each other ever since. My mother's friend (let's call her Jane) has two children - Boy and a girl (boy isn't really relevant at this point) and according to them, we used to be together all the time (me and her daughter) but the thing is, because of my parents splitting up, I moved away with my mother and my brother to a different country, to have a better life (parents split up, money was an issue before).

Fast forward to 2010. My mum and I go to mother's other friend's (Let's call her Daisy) house for a friendly gathering - There's me, my Mum, Daisy and her 2 daughters (not relevant) and Jane's children, all grown up. The daughter (Let's call her Julia) and her son (let's call him Jim) arrive and we all greet etc. She's about a year older than me, whereas Jim is ~2 years younger. Jim and I hit if off, and we're bros. I fall in love with Julia, love at first sight. Didn't interact much during said gathering, but she was energetic, slightly shy towards me, happy, active (this will come in later)

Then over the next several years there are more of these gatherings, but it's just me, my Mum, Jane, Julia and Jim. (forgot to mention, Jane absolutely adores me, Jim and I are still bros) and occasionally i'd take to Julia, but never a deep conversation, i'd make her smile etc.

And one time, she invites me to her birthday, supposedly just to keep her brother company (it was literally just her girlfriends) but I felt there was more to it than that - she never said anything more, just to keep him company as bros.

Now we'd also talk to each other on facebook, play games over the internet and the conversations were lively and felt sincere. Now here's the important part - At the end of one summer, during a conversation she ends it with "Well, good luck with school" and it pretty much went dead from there - completely ignored me on facebook, didn't reply to my messages and the same with Jim - he barely talks to me either. At one point, she completely unfriends me on facebook without any reason and that’s the end of that. Figuring this was the end, I confessed that I liked her, a last-ditch attempt (which I’ve now come to regret, it feels desperate) and I send her a friend request. She accepts, but never replied to the message or any other for that matter.

There was drama a couple of months later where her 2 friends (let’s call them Gabby and Anne) kept asking me what I think about Julia (both friends were present at the birthday , I know them both and friended on facebook) and one of them acted unusually in love with me, this over the top kind of love calling me things like “honey” “gorgeous” and all these love emoticons alongside – something didn’t feel right. She then proceeded to ask me out on the spot (over IM). I thought this was some kind of joke because something didn’t feel right, so of course trying to respect her despite the circumstances I tried to let her down gently. At this point, she gets really mad at me and the conversation. What really put me off was that Gabby started talking to me, and them Jim, after a long time of not talking, starts talking to me at the same time. This makes me think that something’s not right, that something’s fishy. Anyways further into the conversation she proceeds to tell me that she’s fallen out with Julia & Jim and that she’s not talking to them. Then also tells me that Julia never liked me (but I reckon she said that out of anger/jealousy).
Anyways, then Anne begins talking to me and tells me how she likes me (but not on the same level as Gabby supposedly did) and then also proceeds to ask me all these questions about Julia, if I like her, what I think of her etc. At this point, she also starts to get angry and tries to talk me out of her, telling me that she’s not who she was, she’s a cold person etc. and also proceeds to tell me Julia doesn’t like me sooner or later, both Anne and Gabby are angry at me – Gabby to the point where she unfriended me and we’re not friends to this day. The fact that both conversations were in theory, quite similar makes me think that they were both a test to see how I’d react to them.
Fast forward to June last year, I get a message from Anne telling me that she’s sorry for everything mean that she’s ever said to me, and she’s pretty sure Julia feels the same way  regarding the matter. She also told me that it was never my fault and they both (Anne and Julia) looked back and think that they hurt me. It’s at this point that I look back at Julia’s messages and there’s all these messages like “Happy Birthday!” and “Happy New Year!” that I didn’t see before. A couple of days later, Julia apologizes for the same, about the way she acted before. So we proceed to talk again like old times, but here’s where her character comes in from before – she seems different. She doesn’t seems a happy or energetic as she was before and she seems more mature.

So that’s the story. Now here’s what I wanted to ask you, /b/:
She seems different. She doesn’t talk like she used to act like she used to (I haven’t seen her in ~3 years, though) and she seems like this completely different person. I started a conversation with her today, and I get these boring, lifeless short replies. However I had a decent conversation like we used to before all the drama.
What’s going on? I still love her, but it’s long distance. I don’t know what to do, it feels one-sided from me and she doesn’t seem engaged.
