<+tiki_CD> So I would like to start with the Output Impedance question,
<+tiki_CD> Basically what I found out from our R&D team is that they can lower the Ωs.
<+tiki_CD> 4.7Ω was the setting recommended to them by ESS (for compatibility). however the full recommended range is 1.8-4.7Ωs.
<+tiki_CD> My question for all of you is 1.8Ω low enough? 2Ωs would be a perfect match for our Impact & Classic series of IEMs, however I know many would like to use their own IEMs.
	<@Narris> What are the real world examples of low VS high output impedance?
	 <+tiki_CD> Basically you want as close a match as possible to your IEMs as possible.
	 <+tiki_CD> It's really matter of getting that spec to match your IEMs / Headphones. The distortion really effects sensitive IEMs the most.
	 <+tiki_CD> The only real negative point is for certain High Impedance headphones (for Pros / Broadcast) the maximum volume will be slightly lower (however this can be countered by using the PHA).
	 <+tiki_CD> For Sensitive / Portable Headphones used by most consumers there will actually be better response in the low frequencies.
		<DamonLo> how about turn out this output Ω   as a selectable option inside the setting menu?
		 <+tiki_CD> DamonLo, it would have to be a fixed setting because it's programmed into the DAC/Amp Chip.

<Gaussian> btw, as a forte ear-bud owner, if I had one remark to make, is that you should consider conic ear-buds. your rectangular ones easily pop out of the ear during movement.
<Gaussian> well, curved I should say. conic might not be the right word.
 <Narris> Gaussian I've sometimes had to adjust for perfect fit and notice that as well because it seems my ear canals are not the same.
	<+tiki_CD> Gaussian, we're actually testing memory foam ear-buds!
	<+tiki_CD> (I've had mine for the last month and love them!).
		<Narris> Will they just be replacement additions to the current line-up?
		 <+tiki_CD> Yup! Our target MSRP for them is $10 for a 6 pack.

<lo_tse> Can you shed any light on the development/planned production schedule for the players please.
 <+tiki_CD> we are actually a bit ahead of schedule right now for the Seiun Players.
 <+tiki_CD> So we should be able to start delivering mid-late December.
 <+tiki_CD> Same with the Pro / PHA (Jan / Feb).
 <+tiki_CD> And the PRO X is still (Feb / March).

			 <+tiki_CD> Hifi848388 march has always been the schedule for the PHA Jan / Feb is actually soon than we initially thought.

<oliolio> btw since the pro's have a metal body I've got to ask, will it bend?

 <+tiki_CD> I mention this in the last chat session, but as the clumsiest one in our company I get to be the first to stress test the products - so far no bends. :P

<oliolio> I'm wondering is there a speaker for the pro series?
 <+tiki_CD> oliolio yeah there is a speaker built into the pro/PRO X
   <oliolio> since this is an audio device will the speakers be disappointing?
	<+tiki_CD> They aren't super loud; depends on what your intended use is. The built in speakers are meant for system sounds. It's not a Hi-Res Speaker built in (however the speakers that will come with our media / home office dock will be Hi-Res!).

<Narris> Would you like to clarify what you guys consider a Hi-Res speaker addition for the Media Docking station?
 <+tiki_CD> we'll be sharing the newest designs for the docks soon, (hopefully tomorrow morning).
 <+tiki_CD> yeah we use the JAS definition for Hi-Res which is a 5-40KHz response.
  <Narris> JAS = Japan Audio Society.

<+tiki_CD> we're integrating a Forum and Customer Loyalty program on our site.
<+tiki_CD> so we'll be using the forum to show you products that are in development and get gauge the community's opinions and feedback.
<+tiki_CD> Also general discussion / support for current products.
	<Narris> What will the customer loyalty program look like?
	 <+tiki_CD> Narris, it will be a point based program.
	 <+tiki_CD> where you can use your points on special items (we're going to try and product some limited edition versions of products next year) and for up to 50% off all products.


**** Seiun Pro/ProX ****

<oliolio> is the screen type finalised yet?
 <+tiki_CD> The screen type will be OLED / Multi-touch.
 <+tiki_CD> the manufacture is still being finalized
 <+tiki_CD> Not LCD, similar to AMOLED - but with lower power consumption.
 <+tiki_CD> OLED doesn't have the 'Active Matrix'.

<Gaussian>  about the side buttons, are they for track or volume control? Many people will have the player in their pocket so track control makes more sense, just wanted to be sure.
 <+tiki_CD> right now the buttons on the side are only for volume control, however we are considering adding a setting where 'long pressing' them will also switch tracks.
	<Gaussian> yea, hope you'll do that. "blind" track changing is something I do all the time.
    <Gaussian> button configuration would be best, but it's probably more of a headache to code.

<DamonLo> Tiki , that Typc-C Media Adapter come with PRO/PRO X, what exactly are those ?
 <+tiki_CD> I'm uploading a picture of one of the early designs now.

 <+tiki_CD> but basically it's an adapter for the Pro/PRO X that will allow you to connect HDMI / SPDIF(coax) and USB(OTG).
 <+tiki_CD> We're only using the left most design in the box.
	<oliolio> does the hub have a full fledged HDMI port?
	 <+tiki_CD> The first design has a full HDMI, I believe the new one has mini, I'll need to double check that though.
     <+tiki_CD> We want the Media Adapter to be portable, ideally for your home theatre system you'll use the 'Home Media Dock' where as the media adapter is meant to be used on the go.
		<oliolio> mini? why not the full sized one? hmm but then I'll need an adapter / another cable.
		 <+tiki_CD> oliolio that's a good point; I'll bring it up when we meet on that tomorrow.

<oliolio> pro x later than pro? screen issues?
 <+tiki_CD> oliolio, their scheduled should be completed around the same time, however it's the additional chip needed (from XMOS) for the Native DSD playback.

<Gaussian> I wanna ask again about something that many backers have been wondering about, which is the front camera. Is it really needed? it's only my opinion, but it makes the product less looking like a media player, and doesn't have a real usefulness. some have been suggesting if it could be replaced by stuff like bluetooth 4.1, tho I'm not sure about that.
 <+tiki_CD> Gaussian the component for the camera is quite inexpensive and open up more 3rd party functionality.
 <+tiki_CD> we understand that many are upset about the absence of aptX, however with the PCB redesign this would require (+ the licensing process) it would put us too far behind schedule.
	<Narris> so aptX is both a hardware and software issue?
	 <+tiki_CD> yeah, initially we thought it was just a license issue, however to use aptX you much purchase the bluetooth module directly from CSR and purchase a separate licensing fee.
		<Narris> so you're keeping the design more open source for this version, but you are not discounting something more in the future with later versions?
		 <+tiki_CD> Narris , exactly we want to ensure this product gets delivered on time.

<hihihellohihi> Just asking for the NAND of Pro/Pro X is MLC/TLC?
 <+tiki_CD> hihihellohihi I just asked our developer about the NAND, I'll let you know when he gets back to me.
 <+tiki_CD> hihihellohihi , it uses TLC NAND.
	<dumbears> TLC NAND for 64G units too?  Or just the 128G's?
	 <+tiki_CD> For all NAND.

<lo_tse> I saw the drawing for a "case" for the PRo /ProX + PHA, I presume a case for the Pro and Pro X is in the works?
 <+tiki_CD> yes, its in the same update right underneath the Connected Case (Pro/PRO X + PHA).

<DamonLo> Tiki , 1 question......Customs OS support Asian-double byte characters?
 <+tiki_CD> we'll support Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese and Korean.

<DamonLo> TIKI , SACD ISO for PRO X?
 <+tiki_CD> Not at launch, but that is something we are exploring through updates.

 <+tiki_CD> oliolio oh, I didn't know it supported 4K, also our adapter will have coax SPDIF out (instead of the extra type-c).
	<oliolio> hope you test yours more.

<oliolio> how often will you update the software in regards to latest android version and the monthly security updates?
 <+tiki_CD> Oliolio so in terms of the actual schedule of updates / that going to be locked down in early January (we'll probably announce sometime around the second week).
 <+tiki_CD> right now the tentative schedule is every an update every two months, but like I said, that'll be finalized in January.

<DamonLo> Tiki , is it possible to had a Wireless Charging Case?
 <+tiki_CD> Ahh, that's something we might be able to incorporate in the future, however currently it's not on our immediate road map.
 <+tiki_CD> perhaps we can might be able to team up with a third party partner to bring that to the market.

<DamonLo> Second , any little sneak peak image of the Media dock or home office dock?
 <+tiki_CD> Haha our designers will be sending me the latest me the latest concepts for the dock tonight.
