  1. [13:29] <~Kumaton> It's 10 in the morning, and the area around the entrance to Vault 23 is a mixture of melted snow and pale brown earth. The Vault wall is embedded in the side of a hill, and you're able to make out a few stumps and stray branches, something which suggest the Vault entrance was previously well-hidden. Nowadays, you don't have to worry about hiding yourself as much.
  2. [13:29] <~Kumaton> http://i.imgur.com/roj4g3f.jpg
  3. [13:31] <~Kumaton> The three of you readily stand out - a super mutant, a man with a robot that nobody in the crowd has seen before, and a man concealing his identity with scraps of the old world mixed with relics from the new one.
  4. [13:33] <Benjamin_Braddock> Is the vault door itself open? It's a little nippy out here.
  5. [13:34] <~Kumaton> There's a lone security guard standing in front of the entrance, wearing a mixture of Vault armor and leather pads underneath a thin brown coat and a surgical mask. He has a small-caliber rifle in his hands, fitted with half of a pair of binoculars that is probably meant to serve as a scope. He does a quick headcount of the crowd, mumbles something to himself, and unhooks a small metal radio from his belt and announcing that 'they've met the maximum' before placing it back into it's socket,
  6. [13:34] <~Kumaton> and gesturing everyone to approach the door.
  7. [13:34] <~Kumaton> It's shut tight, but as you approach, the door slowly and noisly begins to extend outwards and roll along the grooves on the wall.
  8. [13:35] <Doc_Bronson> "Makes me nostalgic," Doc says to no one in particular.
  9. [13:35] * Bison looks with distrust at the doorway to the strongold built by the Ancestors as it magically opens
  10. [13:35] <~Kumaton> "Single file, alright?" The guard announces to everyone. "Don't push, don't shove. Get through customs first."
  11. [13:35] <~Kumaton> "Don't worry, no blood tests, just some questions."
  12. [13:36] <~Kumaton> The line, a little more than one dozen and composing of humans wearing everything from flannel to clothes fashioned from junk, slowly goes in. The three of you are almost in the front.
  13. [13:36] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Yeah, sure. No problem, pal." Ben considers a friendly pat on the shoulder as he passes by, but decided against it.
  14. [13:38] <~Kumaton> The line enters the entrance to the Vault, with a few road lights connected to fission generators lighting the first room, with a few traffic cones and blockades directing the line towards a room to the left.
  15. [13:38] * Bison grips his spear tightly and brings his hand up to an amulet around his neck while he mutters a prayer to himself
  16. [13:39] <~Kumaton> There's a smiling picture of the Vault-Tec mascot character with a speech bubble drawn next to his mouth, obviously added after the Vault re-opened it's doors. "Welcome to the new frontier!"
  17. [13:39] <Doc_Bronson> "They really might want to consider at least a cheek swab, or simple blood screening. Why, any human baseline here could have any number of communicable diseases. Hmm. Maybe I'll bring that up later."
  18. [13:40] <~Kumaton> The line enters the room, and inside is a group of three men wearing comforting clothes and with facial hair neatly trimmed, one with glasses, writing things into individual binders, about the size of a big old book.
  19. [13:40] <~Kumaton> Who's first in line?
  20. [13:41] <Benjamin_Braddock> I'll go for it
  21. [13:41] <Bison> I'm last
  22. [13:42] <~Kumaton> Benjamin, you come to one of the men, the one wearing glasses, without facial hair, and wearing a dirty polo shirt.
  23. [13:42] <~Kumaton> "Name?" he asks, his voice a bit rough.
  24. [13:43] <~Kumaton> [Bronson, we can do you while Benjamin's answering to speed things up a bit]
  25. [13:43] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Benjamin Braddock, the one from MPR."
  26. [13:43] <~Kumaton> "Sounds familiar..." he mutters to himself. "Is the robot dangerous?"
  27. [13:43] <ASH_LE> [exasperated beeping]
  28. [13:44] * Doc_Bronson comes up, doing his best impression of a Regular Guy.
  29. [13:44] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Nothing to worry about. Ashley here's just part of my radio equipment. Couldn't hurt anything bigger than a mole rat."
  30. [13:44] <~Kumaton> Bronson, you approach a man with a full beard, wearing a white shirt without any markings. "Name, uh..." he looks up, his face a bit scared. "Oh, uh, my, you're a big fella, ain't ya?"
  31. [13:45] <~Kumaton> Benjamin, the man nods. "Ya here for business or pleasure?"
  32. [13:46] <Doc_Bronson> "7'6", and a bit shy of a quarter of a short ton. My name's Bronson. Doctor Bronson!"
  33. [13:46] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Business. Looking for hired help, possibly."
  34. [13:47] <~Kumaton> Bronson, the man nods, his face still a bit worried. "Uh, uh, okay. Business or pleasure, gu-, er, uh, you said you were a d-doctor, so I'll just put down 'business'. You, uh, you, uh, you enjoy yourself, doc."
  35. [13:48] <~Kumaton> Benjamin: The man nods, glancing at Bronson, then shuddering a bit. "Well, that's all I need. Don't let your pal here go beserk on anything, and don't unholster your piece unless you have to, and you'll have a grand ol' time. Next!"
  36. [13:49] * Bison steps forward
  37. [13:50] <Benjamin_Braddock> "No problem. We'll play nice, right Ashley?" He smiles and heads forward.
  38. [13:50] <ASH_LE> [agreeing beeping]
  39. [13:50] <~Kumaton> Bison, you come to the last man in the line, a gentleman with balding hair and an old tie around a button-up shirt with what you think might be blood stained on it. "Well, you're certainly different. Those real medals?"
  40. [13:51] <Doc_Bronson> "Thank you, my good man!"
  41. [13:51] <~Kumaton> *those real horns
  42. [13:52] <Bison> "Yes, these are the horns of a bison. I am named after the bison, who the gods have given to us for sustinence and sport."
  43. [13:53] <~Kumaton> "Huh. Don't know where you've come from, but you've certainly come a long way, huh, buddy? I'll put down 'Bison' for name, and, eh, business or pleasure?"
  44. [13:53] <Bison> "Neither. I am merely passing through."
  45. [13:54] <~Kumaton> "Don't got a space for that. I'll put down 'pleasure', alright, fella? And, if you want a bit of advice, hunter Bogart in Albert-Lea Arms and Ammo might take those horns off ya for a pretty penny. Next?"
  46. [13:55] * Benjamin_Braddock will take note of the person who is almost two feet taller than him.
  47. [13:55] * Bison starts to say something, but stops and moves on. What use is arguing with the ignorant and stupid?
  48. [13:55] <~Kumaton> The three of you follow the line of traffic cones, light, and barricades untily you reach a door with a clear, backlit label on it, a fusion cell taped to the door frame to power the light. "CORE HALLWAY."
  49. [13:55] <~Kumaton> http://i.imgur.com/y9eX3sN.png
  50. [13:55] <Benjamin_Braddock> (Profligates.)
  51. [13:55] <~Kumaton> [Sorry for the shittiness of the map, didn't have a lot of time]
  52. [13:57] <~Kumaton> [Also I just noticed Workshop is mispelled. Let's just say that's on the shittily-drawn label on the doorframe]
  53. [13:58] * Doc_Bronson looks down at Benjamin. "Why hello there!"
  54. [13:58] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Hey there, big guy. What brings you here?"
  55. [13:58] <~Kumaton> The line disperses when you enter the Core, going into different rooms, following the crudely drawn-on labels on the walls to different places, or just milling about. The smell of old plastic and rusted metal hits your nostrils, and you carefully step over the different wires trailing the floor, the broken glass, or the screws and nails that litter the tile.
  56. [13:59] <ASH_LE> [Cautious beeping]
  57. [13:59] <~Kumaton> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFO4rr5wKhE
  58. [14:00] <Bison> Are the screws and nails loose or are they screws and nails in the floor themselves?
  59. [14:01] <Doc_Bronson> "Oh, all manner of things! Research, mostly, but I'm also tracking down a few odd rumors. But I should introduce myself! I am Doctor Bronson. Who do I have the honor of speaking to? And is this your robot?"
  60. [14:01] <~Kumaton> They're both, some falling from the ceiling's metal sheets, some loose from holding down the metal tile on the floor.
  61. [14:02] <Bison> and nobody's doing anything about them?
  62. [14:02] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Benjamin Braddock, proud host of MPR, Minnesota Public Radio. This here is Ashley, the newest addition to the cast. She's partly why I'm here, but don't let me keep you from whatever it is you were doing."
  63. [14:03] <~Kumaton> There's some that are piled into different corners, like someone was sweeping them up and forgot about it, but other than the one that you found sticking straight up, they're mostly unhazardous.
  64. [14:03] * Bison picks up a screw
  65. [14:04] <Bison> and slips it into a pouch
  66. [14:04] <Benjamin_Braddock> (Everyone draws their guns to attack the thief)
  67. [14:05] <Doc_Bronson> "Public radio? Fascinating! I have to admit, at the moment I'm mostly just worried about how run down this Vault is. I've never seen an inhabited one is such disrepair-...though I admit my sample size is rather small."
  68. [14:05] <~Kumaton> A guard, mostly wearing the same getup as the guard you saw before minus the rifle, sees Bison. "As long as you're not sticking that in someone's chair, I'll pretend I didn't see it."
  69. [14:05] <Bison> "Does it belong to you?", Bison asks and offers him the screw
  70. [14:06] <~Kumaton> "It belongs to the Vault, and according to Short Paul Hardin and Kingsbury, I'm part of the Vault, but it's just a screw, it's fine."
  71. [14:07] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Eh. At least it's not full of people cranked out on Chems or something. Anyway, I'm headed down to see security about keeping the tower protected while I'm out and about."
  72. [14:08] <Bison> "Who are Short Paul Hardin and Kingsbury?"
  73. [14:09] <~Kumaton> “Short Paul Hardin’s the guy who runs this Vault. Nice, lets anyone into his office. You know where the Overseer’s place is in a Vault, like, above the Atrium? That’s where it is. Feel free to talk his head off about whatever.”
  74. [14:09] <Doc_Bronson> "I was hoping to talk to the local doctors at the Clinic, buuuut I probably should talk to the constabulary to make sure there are no misunderstandings."
  75. [14:10] <Doc_Bronson> "So, what does a public radio personality do while not hosting public radio?"
  76. [14:10] <~Kumaton> “Kingsbury’s the chick who runs security here. She’s in her office, turn right then go straight forward. Don’t expect to stay more than five minutes before getting thrown out, though.”
  77. [14:10] *** MrTastee quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
  78. [14:11] * Bison nods. "How did Short Paul Hardin become your chief and Kingsbury your head of warriors?
  79. [14:12] <Benjamin_Braddock> "I leave it on auto play and wander between various settlements, trying to pick up some more music to play on the station. Gonna be gone for a long while though, so I may as well make sure there's more than a padlock and some sandbags protecting it.
  80. [14:12] <Benjamin_Braddock> "+
  81. [14:12] <~Kumaton> “Short Paul Hardin’s just the one who found it first, I guess. About fifteen years ago, I’d have to say. He got most of his trading friends from The Arch to come up here, thought it would be a smart place to set up shop along Big 90.”
  82. [14:13] <~Kumaton> “Kingsbury’s just a sheriff from Sioux Falls that came along after she got thrown out. Don’t tell her I said that, though.”
  83. [14:14] <~Kumaton> “I think that’s what you asked, anyway. Dunno why you’re using those specific words.”
  84. [14:14] <Benjamin_Braddock> He's going to head along to the security office as he mentions that, motioning for the big guy to come along if he wants.
  85. [14:15] * Doc_Bronson follows Benjamin.
  86. [14:17] <Bison> "I understand. Perhaps I will see Short Paul Hardin. He may be able to give me aid. Past the Atrium, you say?"
  87. [14:17] <~Kumaton> The Security Office was obviously something else before the Vault got repurposed, judging by the walls full of sockets and the pegboard hanging from the wall with different guns on it, but now it’s the security office. Funny how that works. There’s a woman sitting at a desk, her boot-wearing feet propped up on the stained wooden top, inspecting a small pistol lazily. She has her hair chopped off, mostly, and she’s wearing a fur-lined coat with a bulletproof vest underneath.
  88. [14:18] <~Kumaton> The woman notices the two of you, rolls her eyes at Benjamin, and then her eyes go wide at Bronson.
  89. [14:19] <~Kumaton> Bison: The man nods. “Sure, just follow me.” He starts walking to the right, then going straight forward to another door with “ATRIUM” lit up above it.
  90. [14:20] * Bison follows the security guard.
  91. [14:21] <~Kumaton> You’re not able to see much of the Atrium other than a wall of different people and sounds of different machinery clashing with the sound of voices before the guard walks you to the right and up a set of stairs. You reach a balcony above the whole crowd, but the guard leads you forward and into another door before you can get a good look at it.
  92. [14:21] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Howdy!" Ben waves, ignoring the green elephant in the room.
  93. [14:21] <Doc_Bronson> "Good afternoon!" Goes the literally green metaphorical elephant.
  94. [14:23] <~Kumaton> He leads you into an office, with a circular desk in the middle, and an average-sized man sitting in a desk chair, working inside a notebook. He has hair cut short sensibly, and he’s wearing a red flannel button-up.
  95. [14:23] * Bison stands, waiting to be noticed
  96. [14:23] <~Kumaton> The two of you: The woman eyes both of you, including the robot. She puts the gun in once piece again, and plays with the safety switch. “What the hell do you want?”
  97. [14:24] <~Kumaton> Bison: “Paul, got someone for you.” The guard says. Paul looks up, and smiles at you, though it’s sort of obvious that he doesn’t know what to make of you.
  98. [14:25] <Bison> "I greet you, Chief Paul."
  99. [14:25] <Benjamin_Braddock> "I'm looking to hire out some security to keep an eye on my place for a while. I'm willing to pay! It's the radio tower a short ways west of the vault."
  100. [14:25] <~Kumaton> “Ah, I’m no chief. Just a guy trying to make a living. Come on, sit down.” Paul gestures to a chair in front of the desk.
  101. [14:26] <~Kumaton> The woman looks at you like you just cursed her out. “What in the fucking world makes you think we have the men to protect some old-world radio tower?”
  102. [14:26] <Benjamin_Braddock> "I know you're more for keeping the vault safe, but if you could at least put up a bulletin for it and hold onto the fee I'll be paying them, it'd be appreciated."
  103. [14:27] * Bison sits. "I thank you. You are kind to a man who has come a long way."
  104. [14:28] <~Kumaton> Bison: “I didn’t get where I am today by refusing basic human decency. What can I do for you, sir?”
  105. [14:29] <Bison> "I wonder if you perhaps know anything about the land of Minnesota. I am on a quest to free my people, and cannot return until I succeed."
  106. [14:29] <Benjamin_Braddock> (This is the part where my sheet is biting me. I have like 500 tabs on my sheet in the builder but it's gone on the PDF)
  107. [14:31] <Bison> "My people have legends of a great city of the ancients, built by great warriors. I must find it, for the rest of my people have been seized by slavers, and only with the help of the great city might I save them. Have you heard any tales of such a place?"
  108. [14:31] <~Kumaton> “Well, I ain’t exactly from here, I haven’t really traveled much north,” his face changes when you mention your people.
  109. [14:32] <~Kumaton> “Well, I’ve heard tales of Minneapolis, St. Paul - you might know them as the ‘Twins’. Not much up there except for scavengers and Ghouls.”
  110. [14:32] <Benjamin_Braddock> "... Because it's the one playing the music that goes through your PA system every day at noon? It's either me or Paulie. I'm offering...how's about 50 a day for about a week? For you or whoever is willing to take up the job."
  111. [14:33] <~Kumaton> He drums his fingers on the desk. “A great city, eh? Hm...” He pulls out a drawer in the desk, grabbing a small folded bit of paper, unfurling it, and reading it. “You ever hear of Rochester?”
  112. [14:34] <Bison> "I do not know the name."
  113. [14:34] <~Kumaton> Benjamin: The woman shakes her head. “I don’t care about your money or your music. I don’t even know what you’re talking about. Look, we don’t have the kind of manpower to protect some dumb radio tower. We got twelve guards. Twelve. Unless you want to get a gun and do it yourself, you’re fucked.”
  114. [14:35] <~Kumaton> Bison: “Well, it’s home of the Mayo Clinic, ever hear about that? Well, Was. But you don’t want to go there, believe me.”
  115. [14:36] <Bison> "Why not. A clinic is where the healers of the ancestors lived, is it not?"
  116. [14:36] <~Kumaton> “I mean, you look and sound like you’ve been through some tough times, so maybe you can handle yourself there, but there’s not much of the Mayo Clinic nowadays.”
  117. [14:37] <~Kumaton> He keeps scanning the piece of paper. “Well, there’s Minneapolis, and there’s Rochester, but not a lot of other places that fit your descritpion...wait.”
  118. [14:38] <Benjamin_Braddock> He sighs. "It was a long shot anyway. At least you heard me out. Guess you'll have to take up being the backup tower after all, Ashley."
  119. [14:38] <~Kumaton> He gives you the paper, and points to a picture in the middle labeled “Southdale Center”.
  120. [14:38] <~Kumaton> http://www.shorpy.com/files/images/southdale_center_1956.jpg
  121. [14:38] <~Kumaton> “That looks like your legends?”
  122. [14:39] <~Kumaton> Benjamin: The lady nods. “If that’s all you want to talk about, then get out. And take your jolly green giant with you.”
  123. [14:39] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Oh, he's not mine."
  124. [14:39] <Benjamin_Braddock> He leaves before an incident occurs.
  125. [14:40] <Bison> "Yes. Yes, that is it! So it is real?!"
  126. [14:41] <~Kumaton> “Yep, so it is. It’s in, uh...Midena, Minnesota. Suburb of Minneapolis. You got a Pip-Boy?”
  127. [14:41] <~Kumaton> [As he says this, he’s plugging information into his own Pip-Boy]
  128. [14:43] <Bison> "Pip-boy? What is this?"
  129. [14:44] * Doc_Bronson raises is hands. "I just wanted to do you the courtesy of a visit before you got any reports about a giant green man wandering around. I find it helps to give the local authorities advance warning before people start calling in a panic."
  130. [14:45] <~Kumaton> Paul flashes his arm - attatched to it is a big screen, like the ones on old-world terminals, with a large computer undernath, wrapping around his arm. “Personal computers. Vault-Tec gave them to the Vault dwellers all around America. We sell ‘em downstairs, in the Vault Living store.”
  131. [14:46] <~Kumaton> Bronson: The woman nods. “Look, we get Jotunns around here every once in a while, so we’re used to it. As long as you don’t try to start an army, we should be fine.”
  132. [14:46] * Bison looks at it with a combination of amazement and fear. "This is a tool of the ancients?!"
  133. [14:46] <Doc_Bronson> "Absolutely no plans to do so! Thank you for your time; I will leave you to your work."
  134. [14:47] <~Kumaton> “I guess. Tool of the pre-war times, at least. Fairly nice to have around if you plan on traveling.”
  135. [14:47] * Doc_Bronson exits quickly, and looks around for Benjamin.
  136. [14:48] <Bison> Envy is in his eyes, but Bison says nothing but, "I see." Sadly, he is neither pure enough to use one of these "pip-boys", nor does he know the proper rites to maintain or use them.
  137. [14:49] <Benjamin_Braddock> Well, that was a bust. Ben just kind of hums to himself, being petty about his meeting with the security chief. "I don't want my arms around you, no, not much. No, not much..."
  138. [14:51] <Doc_Bronson> "Sorry to bother you, Mr. Braddock, but I was hoping for a moment more of your time."
  139. [14:51] <Bison> "I thank you for your help, Chief Paul."
  140. [14:51] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Huh? Oh, uh, sure doc. What's goin' on?"
  141. [14:53] <~Kumaton> Paul thanks. “Well, if you need a map to get to Edina, I have one.” he pulls out another piece of paper from his drawer, a folded blue piece of paper, and hands it to you.”
  142. [14:54] * Bison puts his hands over Paul's. "May your gods and ancestors bless you for your kindness, Chief Paul."
  143. [14:54] <~Kumaton> “Thanks. You have a good day, now!”
  144. [14:56] <ASH_LE> [disgruntled beeping]
  145. [14:56] <Doc_Bronson> "I'm sorry you didn't have any luck in there, but I was wondering two things. One, have you considered traveling in a larger group? It might make it safer to search out music and news, and could present new opportunities for freelance hiring. And secondly- ...is the robot OK?"
  146. [14:58] <~Kumaton> Bison: The guard gestures you out the door.
  147. [14:58] * Bison leaves the office, the piece of paper in his hand.
  148. [14:59] <~Kumaton> “Well, good luck out there, fella. I gotta head back to my post, you should know the way back to the core.”
  149. [14:59] <~Kumaton> The guard leaves you and heads back down the stairs.
  150. [14:59] * Benjamin_Braddock looks at Ashley. "I know, I know, this was a crummy detour. But I think we can turn this around." He looks back over to the big guy. "If you've got nothing better to do, go right ahead. Can't promise it'll be an entertaining trip."
  151. [15:00] * Bison walks down towards the core
  152. [15:01] <Doc_Bronson> "I'll be honest; I find that people are a lot more friendly when I'm with someone of, er, conventional genotype, and I enjoy company. Not to mention, I've always liked to support public radio."
  153. [15:03] <~Kumaton> Bison: when you walk through the door, you see a large green man, his veins showing through his skin, talking with a man wearing the clothes of the old world with a metal orb floating by him. You think it would be in your best interest to ignore them.
  154. [15:04] * Bison certainly does ignore them. Some strange people out there.
  155. [15:05] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Friendly sort, huh? Well, I mean, I'm just gonna be tracking down some old world widgets and surveying some places. Speaking of which, where was the first place on the list again, Ashley?"
  156. [15:06] <ASH_LE> [annoyed, i-can't-believe-i'm-repeating-this-again beeping]
  157. [15:06] <Doc_Bronson> "...Did you just get sassed by your robot?"
  158. [15:08] <Benjamin_Braddock> "She's a little catty. You'd probably be catty too if you didn't have arms."
  159. [15:09] <Benjamin_Braddock> (heading back onto a dead zone for signal. Will be back on wifi shortly)

  163. [15:13] <~Kumaton> We started, but we’re about to take a little bit of a break.
  164. [15:13] <chitoryu12> That works. What's the score so far?
  165. [15:13] <~Kumaton> Do you want a summary of what’s happened so far or a pastebin with the full chatlog or what?
  166. [15:13] <Bison> We blew up the earth. Game's over already
  167. [15:14] <chitoryu12> Pastebin will be helpful, thank you

  172. [15:15] <chitoryu12> Mhm. We were up at 7:00 AM yesterday
  173. [15:15] <~Kumaton> http://pastebin.com/7QcP9Uxm
  174. [15:16] <~Kumaton> Let’s take a five minute break for now, then we can continue.
  175. [15:17] <chitoryu12> Thanks, I'll read it right now
  176. [15:21] <chitoryu12> I'll rejoin under my character name then
  177. [15:21] <~Kumaton> You can just use /nick
  178. [15:21] *** chitoryu12 quit (Quit: CGI:IRC)
  179. [15:21] *** Lucy (~cgiirc@synIRC-DD96F01E.lightspeed.dybhfl.sbcglobal.net) joined
  180. [15:21] <~Kumaton> For futur reference, unless you’re registered, you can use /nick to change your name.
  181. [15:22] <~Kumaton> Dunno if you knew that, sorry.
  182. [15:22] <Lucy> Thanks. I'm not well-versed in SynIRC commands
  183. [15:23] <~Kumaton> It’s a standard IRC command, i think.
  184. [15:23] <~Kumaton> Also
  185. [15:23] <~Kumaton> This is Krysmbot.
  186. [15:23] <~Kumaton> !r 3d6
  187. [15:23] <Krysmbot> Kumaton, 15 = 15
  188. [15:23] <Benjamin_Braddock> So, to resume, if I may.
  189. [15:23] <Lucy> Excellent!
  190. [15:24] <~Kumaton> Yeah.
  191. [15:24] <~Kumaton> Lucy, we’ll say you’re already passed Customs and you’re in the Vault. Are you in the Core?
  192. [15:25] <Lucy> That's the map with the Workshkop, right?
  193. [15:25] <~Kumaton> Yeah
  194. [15:25] <~Kumaton> [:/]
  195. [15:25] <Lucy> Yeah, I can be coming out of the bathroom
  196. [15:25] <~Kumaton> Okay. Where are you heading now?
  197. [15:25] <Benjamin_Braddock> "I figure I'll see if anyone else going through the vault here's willing to travel with. For pay, at least."
  198. [15:26] <Lucy> Where's the rest of the gang?
  199. [15:27] <~Kumaton> Bison is in the Core wandering, Benjamin and Bronson are talking next to the Security Office.
  200. [15:27] <Benjamin_Braddock> (As-is, Bison's off on his own and Ben and Doc have only just now made a group together outside of the security office)
  201. [15:27] <Doc_Bronson> "You can usually find a few fellow travelers if you look hard enough. In my experience, people are generally decent, unless they're starving, high on psycho, or obsessed with making sure no one can get a really nice pre-war atomic toaster."
  202. [15:28] <Lucy> Lucy walks past the security office, glancing through the open door. She stops mid-stride and nearly falls over, staring up at the mass of flesh inside
  203. [15:28] <Benjamin_Braddock> "That's an unusually specific reference."
  204. [15:28] <Lucy> Lucy mutters under her breath "That's a biggun...."
  205. [15:30] <Doc_Bronson> "It was a /really/ nice toaster- hello there!"
  206. [15:30] <Doc_Bronson> "Am I in your way? Or did you need something?"
  207. [15:31] <Lucy> "Er, no! Sorry! Just don't see fellas like you around the east much."
  208. [15:33] <Doc_Bronson> "Well, technically speaking I'm the only fellow /quite/ like me. Most of the others are Type 1, 2, or 3 FEV mutants, with the occasional Type 2b, but I suppose it's possible- I'm sorry, I'm babbling. I'm Doc Bronson!"
  209. [15:33] <Lucy> * reaches out a hand to shake
  210. [15:33] <Lucy> (Fucking IRC commands)
  211. [15:33] <~Kumaton> It’s /me
  212. [15:33] <Benjamin_Braddock> (Just use /me or, if you're starting with a verb, it'll do it automatically.)
  213. [15:33] <Lucy> "Name's Setters. Lucy"
  214. [15:33] <Lucy> (Thanks bros)
  215. [15:35] <Bison> checks to see if it'll do it automatically.
  216. [15:35] * Lucy performs an out-of-character check
  217. [15:35] <Benjamin_Braddock> (Huh. Thought it did.)
  218. [15:35] <~Kumaton> [Might be a discrepancy with clients]
  219. [15:35] * Doc_Bronson beams and shakes her hand.
  220. [15:35] * Lucy shrugs at the fourth wall being broken, then continues on
  221. [15:35] <Bison> realizes this is a mystery of the ancestors.
  222. [15:35] <Doc_Bronson> "Are you a local, Lucy, or recent arrivals, like Mr. Braddock here and myself?"
  223. [15:37] <Benjamin_Braddock> "I wouldn't exactly call myself a newcomer. I live about an hour away from here."
  224. [15:37] <Lucy> "I'm a traveler. Grew up out east, spent some time helping the doctor in Springfield a week's walk south of here. This is just stop number something!"
  225. [15:40] <Benjamin_Braddock> "You got a particular direction you're going? I'm hiring travel company. 4 guns is better than 3, after all."
  226. [15:40] <Doc_Bronson> "My apologies! I stand corrected."
  227. [15:41] <Lucy> "Nothin' in particular, no. Just going where the wind takes me, you get me?"
  228. [15:42] * Bison , meanwhile, wanders through the core, looking at the various things for sale.
  229. [15:43] <~Kumaton> There’s not really anything for sale, most of the people there are customers or travelers. There’s a few labels that say “Plaza” next to sets of stairs, which might be where things are for sale. Then again, you saw a couple of tables with things on them in the Atrium...
  230. [15:44] <Benjamin_Braddock> "I getcha. Just figured I'd ask anyone who looked capable with a weapon and didn't have the look of an addict."
  231. [15:45] <Lucy> "Well, I certainly wouldn't say no to this idea. My dad called it 'compulsive wanderlust'. Said I got it from him. Why not get paid for a quirk?"
  232. [15:47] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Yeah. We can work out a rate once I figure out how many people I'm hiring."
  233. [15:48] * Lucy looks at Bronson
  234. [15:48] <Lucy> "You with him too?"
  235. [15:48] <Doc_Bronson> "We have just agreed to travel together, indeed!"
  236. [15:50] <Lucy> "Well, I'd be glad to have a well-spoken mountain on my squad!"
  237. [15:50] <Lucy> "Most mountains....they don't talk."
  238. [15:50] <Lucy> "Cause they're mountains."
  239. [15:50] <Benjamin_Braddock> "In the mean time, if my internal clock's about right, I want to say Cole Porter's up. Ashley, speaker mode while we look for another friend?"
  240. [15:51] <ASH_LE> [beeping sigh]
  241. [15:52] <~Kumaton> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aeQ3DmKU7A
  242. [15:53] * Lucy looks askance at the floating robot
  243. [15:53] * Lucy shrugs and just bops to the music
  244. [15:54] <Benjamin_Braddock> "She's my partner. Currently, she's playing what's on my playlist over at the radio tower."
  245. [15:54] <Lucy> "Hey, we'd be the first guys to get ambushed while Cole Porter plays! Right on!"
  246. [15:55] * Bison wanders past, and looks at the music coming out of the floating metal thing suspciously.
  247. [15:55] <Benjamin_Braddock> Old-World music at its finest.

  249. [15:56] <~Kumaton> Bison, do you wish to investigate the metal thing further, or continue to ignore them?
  250. [15:56] <Bison> It's making strange noises.
  251. [15:57] * Bison looks at the metal thing, and fingers his spear.
  252. [15:57] * Benjamin_Braddock looks over at the tribal making weird looks at the machine. "Like what you hear? Old world music, ain't nothing quite like it."
  253. [15:57] <Bison> "A demon?"
  254. [15:58] * Lucy sighs deeply. "Not everything is a demon just because you don't understand it."
  255. [15:59] <Benjamin_Braddock> "A machine. It plays stuff I've got recorded on these." He produces a holotape. "You ever seen one of these before?"
  256. [15:59] * Bison takes it and turns it over. "No. How do you make it?"
  257. [16:00] * Lucy mutters under her breath "How DO you make those?"
  258. [16:01] <Benjamin_Braddock> "You'd have to ask a ghoul who worked for BKM. They recorded all these tapes. Come to think of it, I gotta head there and see if there's any tracks still left in their HQ."
  259. [16:01] <Bison> "This is a thing of the ancestors, then?"
  260. [16:02] <Bison> He gestures towards ASH_LE. "And that is a machine? How do you make it?"
  261. [16:02] <ASH_LE> [watch-yourself-buddy beeping]
  262. [16:04] <Benjamin_Braddock> "She says 'none of your business.' To be honest I ain't sure myself."
  263. [16:04] <Doc_Bronson> "I don't mean to intrude, but where are you from?"
  264. [16:04] <Bison> "I come from Ioway."
  265. [16:04] <Bison> he absorbs Braddock's answer
  266. [16:04] <Benjamin_Braddock> "But it's more advanced than those Protectrons you see once in a while, that's for sure."
  267. [16:06] <Doc_Bronson> "How big was your tribe or local community?"
  268. [16:06] <ASH_LE> [damn-straight beeping[
  269. [16:06] <Bison> "In Ioway, we have creatures called Buzzards. You may not have them here.. They do not kill their own prey. Instead, they find things someone or something else have killed and devour it, neiter knowing how to kill it or respecting those who killed it. This makes them filthy."
  270. [16:07] <Lucy> "Doesn't sound a whole lot different from how all of us have to live, chief"
  271. [16:07] <Bison> He hands back the tape. "We were twenty families, men, women, and children."
  272. [16:08] <Benjamin_Braddock> Ben carefully puts the tape back with the rest of the ones he has.
  273. [16:09] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Sounds like you had a pretty alright deal there. Why'd you leave?"
  274. [16:09] * Bison looks at Lucy. "I knew the man who made my spear."
  275. [16:10] <Bison> "Raiders took them. They're slaves if they're lucky. Dinner if not. I aim to free them, if I an."
  276. [16:12] * Doc_Bronson frowns. "Well. That's awful. How long ago was this?"
  277. [16:14] <Bison> "20 days."
  278. [16:15] <Bison> "I am travelling into Minnesota to seek help from the Ancestors, if any still live."
  279. [16:16] <Benjamin_Braddock> "I see... Well, I'm going to be exploring a few locations with the present company here. You can follow along if you want."
  280. [16:18] <Doc_Bronson> "I can't promise we'll find your particular ancestors, but it's safer to travel in numbers, and I'd like to help if I can."
  281. [16:21] * Bison grunts. "You would help?" He hesitates.
  282. [16:21] <Lucy> "Why not?"
  283. [16:22] <Bison> He looks at Doc Bronson. "I have heard of your people. They attacked from the west not too long ago. Were you in that army?"
  284. [16:22] <Doc_Bronson> "I'm primarily a man of science, but I can't just ignore that sort of thing. And, err, no."
  285. [16:23] <Doc_Bronson> "No direct relation."
  286. [16:24] <Bison> "No doubt some other eight foot tall green men, then." He thinks. "I will travel with you for a while, if only to make certain you do not disrespect the ancestors."
  287. [16:25] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Then I guess that settles it! Radscorpions problems are a thing of the past now!"
  288. [16:26] <Bison> "Radscorpions are very dangerous. Best to stay from a distance and pelt them with arrows. Better still to stay away entirely, although their venom is useful, and their shells can be used for armor."
  289. [16:27] <Benjamin_Braddock> "I'll just stick to bullets, thanks."
  290. [16:29] <Doc_Bronson> "Technically I think mine are 'bolts', but I also favor arrows. A bit quieter, and less concern over unwanted chemical reactions! ...So, Benjamin, when did you want to head out?"
  291. [16:30] <Benjamin_Braddock> "ASAP. Unless you all need to stock up on supplies. I'm headed to St Cloud."
  292. [16:32] <Lucy> "I'll head down to the plaza and see what's what. I'll get whatever I need"
  293. [16:32] <Doc_Bronson> "That's fine with me! ....But before we go, what should we call you?" He glances at Bison. "I'm Doctor Bronson."
  294. [16:33] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Benjamin Braddock myself, friendly neighborhood radio talker."
  295. [16:34] <Lucy> "My name's Lucy Setters."
  296. [16:34] <Bison> "I am called Walks in Bison Tread"
  297. [16:35] <Lucy> "Okay, Bison. I'm going downstairs. I'll see all y'all when I've got everything I need."
  298. [16:35] * Lucy goes down to look for the shops
  299. [16:36] <~Kumaton> http://i.imgur.com/oCGTXIk.png
  300. [16:36] <Lucy> Okay, first on my list is food. I've only got a week's worth of jerky on me
  301. [16:37] <Lucy> $325 to spend
  302. [16:37] <~Kumaton> You walk down the rightmost set of stairs, entering what was once was a state-of-the-art shopping plaza. There’s a concrete fountain in the center of the room, something that has not worked for decades, with wooden picnic tables surrounding it, full of people. There’s shops lining the walls, with signs ranging from wooden planks in the shape of words to neon signs to, in Vault Living’s case, a still-working lightboard from the Vault’s heyday.
  303. [16:38] <Benjamin_Braddock> Better than my total
  304. [16:39] <Benjamin_Braddock> ... Actually, I'll need to see about a few of those too. And, more specifically, I need to see if they've got Rad-X.
  305. [16:39] <Lucy> Is there a place that sells non-perishable food for carrying on the road?
  306. [16:39] <Benjamin_Braddock> I am 100% checking the pharmacy.
  307. [16:40] <~Kumaton> According to a guard, Bad News sells bottles of alchohol that is easy to carry, the Filling Station Diner sells something called “Wasteland Patties” that can be kept easily, and the Washington Store sells things like plastic bags of jerky, canteens, and packaged pre-war food.
  308. [16:42] <Lucy> Going to check the Washington Store for packaged food I can keep in a backpack. After that, I'm going to the diner to ask about these patties
  309. [16:42] <Doc_Bronson> (How closely are we tracking food supplies?)
  310. [16:43] <~Kumaton> Benjamin: The Pharmacy is lined with shelves with different medical supplies on them, from gauze to full kits. There’s a young, small woman on her knees on the floor, unpacking an old cardboard box that looks to only have a few guaze wraps in it. She looks at you when you walk in and mutters a “hi” before standing up fully. “Do you need anything?”
  311. [16:43] <~Kumaton> “If your looking for, uh, chems, you’ll want to see Little Reno. I got most of the stuff that the Clinics don’t use.”
  312. [16:43] <~Kumaton> *clinic doesn’t use.
  313. [16:44] <~Kumaton> Lucy: The Washington Store has most of everything that’s related to survival or things that you’d need to travel. There’s a shelf of packaged food, mostly Cram. The rest of the items seem empty.
  314. [16:45] <~Kumaton> [I’m not sure yet, I might reduce it down to units if we have too much, otherwise I won’t worry about it unless it becomes an issue]
  315. [16:45] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Nah, I'm looking for got Rad-X or other radiation-related medication."
  316. [16:45] <Lucy> "How much is three days' worth of Cram?"
  317. [16:45] <Benjamin_Braddock> (Cram is the worst food because you have to go all the way to Camp McCarren in the NCR to open it.)
  318. [16:46] <Benjamin_Braddock> (Stupid hotshot idiot holding the only cram opener for miles)
  319. [16:46] <Bison> (Cram is people)
  320. [16:46] <~Kumaton> “Oh, we have that...Rad-X and RadAway.” She points to a shelf on the left, which has a few bottles of Rax-X and a I.V. drip of RadAway left.”
  321. [16:47] <~Kumaton> “Uh, honestly, though, you won’t need much of it unless you’re going to Minneapolis or the Trinity...say, have I heard you somewhere?”
  322. [16:48] * Doc_Bronson heads to pick up some jerky.
  323. [16:48] <~Kumaton> Lucy: The man behind the counter nods. “What we have left is about three day’s worth, you know? I’d say...uh...what’s the price on the back of the tin? Something like $16? I’d say [$75 in caps and pulltabs] for all that’s left. How you gonna carry that?”
  324. [16:50] <Lucy> "Don't worry, I've got myself a backpack."
  325. [16:50] * Lucy thumps her pack on the counter
  326. [16:50] <~Kumaton> “Go ahead and grab it, then. Gonna be really heavy, though.”
  327. [16:51] * Bison looks at all the commerce going on.
  328. [16:51] <Lucy> "I plan on eating it!"
  329. [16:51] * Lucy pays the $75 for the Cram and dumps it in her backpack
  330. [16:52] <~Kumaton> “Ha! How much can you eat! Your mouth and your...well, everything about ya’s tiny!”
  331. [16:52] <Benjamin_Braddock> "You may have. Ever listen to MPR?" He clears his throat and puts on his radio voice. "Minnesota Public Radio: The music of yesterday, the news of today, and hope for tomorrow."
  332. [16:52] <Lucy> "My gun ain't tiny"
  333. [16:52] * Lucy winks and walks out
  334. [16:52] <~Kumaton> [Do you want to say how much Cram you’ve got or do you just want to say 3 day’s worth?]
  335. [16:53] <Lucy> (Just tell me how much one day's worth of Cram weighs and I'll multiply it on my sheet)
  336. [16:53] <~Kumaton> Benjamin: The woman smiles. She’s wearing a dusty white blouse, a blue tie, and half of her head is shaved, with the other half of her head swept the other way. “Oh, I know you! I like the music you play, and all the stuff you say about America. It gives me hope, y’know?”
  337. [16:54] <~Kumaton> She extends a hand forward. “My name’s Em.”
  338. [16:54] * Lucy walks into the Filling Station Diner. "Say, what are those Wasteland Patties?"
  339. [16:54] <~Kumaton> [Well, if you have it for 3 square meals a day...3 pounds for a day’s worth.]
  340. [16:55] <Lucy> (Thanks)
  341. [16:56] <Doc_Bronson> (What's the word on jerkey for a giant man?)
  342. [16:56] <~Kumaton> The man behind the counter, a big man with stubble and one of his eyes missing, is currently serving a Ghoul in a business suit, handing him a frozen bottle and a sausage. When you speak, the Ghoul turns around, kind of confused, before extending a finger and pointing it at you. “You look familiar. Where do I know you?”
  343. [16:56] <~Kumaton> [Sorry, I didn’t think you asked specifically]
  344. [16:57] <Doc_Bronson> (Just going to pick up a few days worth of jerky)
  345. [16:58] <~Kumaton> Bronson: The man behind the counter in the Washington Store points at a pegboard with nails sticking out, each one with about 1 or 2 plastic kitchen bags of what might be Brahmin jerky in them. “Get them from the only person left in The Ranch. Not cheap, takes a while to make. $10 a bag.”
  346. [16:58] <~Kumaton> [2 bags = 1 day]
  347. [16:59] * Doc_Bronson awkwardly thumbs through his belongings, and slowly piles up 60$ worth of currency. "There we go!"
  348. [16:59] <~Kumaton> “That works.”
  349. [17:00] <~Kumaton> “Help yourself. And don’t rip me off, or I’ll...well, I don’t think a 9mm will get through your head, but you get the idea.”
  350. [17:00] <Benjamin_Braddock> "This country will live again. And as part of living up to what I preach, I'm doing a bit of scavenging work. It just so happens one of my first stops is right at the very edge of the Trinity, so I figured, better safe than sorry, you know?"
  351. [17:00] <Lucy> "...do you know me?"
  352. [17:01] <Doc_Bronson> "I wouldn't dream of it." He happily collects his jerky, and goes looking for the others.
  353. [17:01] <~Kumaton> Bennjamin: “Why are you going to one of the Trinity? The only thing really there is St. Cloud...the other two are just barren and radioactive.”
  354. [17:03] <~Kumaton> Lucy: The Ghoul nods to himself. “Figures. You wouldn’t remember me, you were just...well, I think you were the same size. Ever been in Springfield, Illinois? Worked under a doctor there?” Oddly, his voice isn’t rough, like a Ghoul’s normally is.
  355. [17:04] <Benjamin_Braddock> "You nailed it! St. Cloud's the spot. Not to give too much away, but your local radio personality is visiting it on government work. Did I not say it was only a matter of time before they came knocking on our doors with plans to rebuild?"
  356. [17:04] <Lucy> "Yeah, that was me. I don't recognize you, though"
  357. [17:05] <~Kumaton> Lucy: “I was the old professor that came in with half of my face missing. You told me about my encroaching Ghoulification. Garrett Williams, professor of Meterology.”
  358. [17:06] <~Kumaton> Benjamin: Em smiles. “I’m looking forward to that. My grandfather told me about how the government looked out for everyone before the bombs dropped, building Vaults, keeping the country safe before it eventually happened. I miss someone looking out for me.”
  359. [17:07] <~Kumaton> “Really though, why would you want to go to St. Cloud? Not much there but Ghouls and...there’s the dam, but nobody’s gotten it working since 2077.”
  360. [17:09] <Bison> <Sorry about this, but I've got to go eat dinner>
  361. [17:10] <~Kumaton> [You’re fine]
  362. [17:10] <Doc_Bronson> (When are we planning to end?)
  363. [17:10] <Lucy> "Ahh, Mr. Williams!"
  364. [17:11] * Lucy shakes the ghoul's hand
  365. [17:11] <Benjamin_Braddock> "As far as I've been told, they're looking at old American landmarks to see what they can and can't get running again. If it's not broken beyond repair, who knows, maybe they'll fix it, along with the old power lines, get some electricity flowing. I mean we've all heard the stories about the huge amounts of power Hoover Dam can still churn out."
  366. [17:11] <~Kumaton> (Not sure, since we’ve been playing for, like, several hours. I still have three hours to play, though.)
  367. [17:12] <~Kumaton> “What’s Hoover Dam?”
  368. [17:12] <Benjamin_Braddock> (I figured I could get my supplies and then end once we're good to go out of the vault)
  369. [17:12] <Doc_Bronson> (Sounds good to me)
  370. [17:12] <Benjamin_Braddock> (Oh was that not operational by this time?)
  371. [17:12] <~Kumaton> Lucy: “It’s nice to see a friendly face. I’ve been looking for someone to do something for me, but none of the people who’s come by are, well, capable enough.”
  372. [17:13] <~Kumaton> (I’m fairly certain it wasn’t, but it’d make sense for someone in the Midwest not to know of something in the Southwest.)
  373. [17:14] <Lucy> (The Hoover Dam didn't start up until 2274, just before Fallout 3)
  374. [17:14] <~Kumaton> (Yeah, I knew it was in the 2270’s)
  375. [17:14] <Benjamin_Braddock> (Oh. Then strike it from the record I guess)
  376. [17:15] <Lucy> (In 2250 where we are now, Vegas was still a set of tribes living in the ruins of Vegas and Mr. House is still biding his time before releasing the Securitrons. The NCR hasn't even come in yet)
  377. [17:16] <Lucy> "I can certainly try, Mr. Williams. Though I'm not sure what kind of capability you want from me!"
  378. [17:16] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Oh, just something I heard they were working on. Enough power to keep the lights and machinery on all day and all night."
  379. [17:18] <Benjamin_Braddock> (I got dragged out a second time. Also, what I'm about to say makes no sense OOC but IC...)
  380. [17:19] <~Kumaton> Lucy: Williams nods. “Well, I think I told you I was looking for a colleague in Minnesota, but, well, I’ve checked around, and they’re in St. Cloud. That’s more than a few miles away. I was pushing 70 when I started becoming a Ghoul, and these bones can’t take me any further. I just need someone to go there for me and look for someone.”
  381. [17:19] <Benjamin_Braddock> "What I know for sure is that they've got plans to rebuild America from the ground up. And that the president picked me, among other citizens, to help do it."
  382. [17:19] <Lucy> "I can try. What's their name?"
  383. [17:20] <~Kumaton> Benjamin: Em smiles again, her face excited. “That’s amazing! I didn’t know there was still a President! What an honor.”
  384. [17:20] <Benjamin_Braddock> "I was glad to hear it myself. Now, can I get a bottle of Rad-X or two for the road ahead?"
  385. [17:21] <Benjamin_Braddock> (The fallout companion obviously lists medicines at unobtainium prices but...)
  386. [17:22] <~Kumaton> Lucy: Williams sighs. “That’s the thing, I don’t know. You see, I continued my predecessor’s research into post-nuclear-strike weather patterns, and I was communicating with a married couple of scientists running the St. Cloud University weather station, but about 20 years ago, they dropped off the map. I wanted to come up here to see what kinds of research and data they had, and maybe I could figure out why the state of Minnesota was the Dead State for a long while.”
  387. [17:22] <~Kumaton> “Foolish old me, not bothering to ask for that couple’s name...”
  388. [17:23] <~Kumaton> Benjamin: Em scratches the back of her neck. “Well, I, uh...yes. Just grab what you need...can I ask you something?”
  389. [17:23] <Lucy> "20 years? I'll be lucky if they haven't become skeletons by this time. I'll see if I can find them, but no guarantees, doc."
  390. [17:24] <Benjamin_Braddock> He'll pick up a bottle or two of rad-X and a thing of RadAway. "Go right ahead, ma'am."
  391. [17:26] <~Kumaton> “They’re dead, no doubt about it. I just wanted to see what kind of data they’ve uncovered. Nobody’s around to appreciate it anymore - well, it’s been that way since as long as I’ve been professor, but I just want to uncover as much as I can. I’ve got the rest of eternity to figure it out, might as well get a head start.”
  392. [17:26] <Lucy> "Data's easier. All right, I'll see if my newfound companions can help me get into their computers or search for papers"
  393. [17:28] <~Kumaton> Ben: Em scratches her neck again. “Well, you see, uhm...I’m selling really the only medical supplies we have that’s not used in the Clinic, and we’re...we’re running out of the major stuff. Stimpacks and medicine, mainly. I don’t want to start selling the clinic’s stockpile, so...I know you have bigger things on your plate, but if you come across any spare medicine, I’ll buy it from you for...well, 100% of the price.”
  394. [17:29] <~Kumaton> Lucy: The professor smiles. “If you have companions, then the trip should be much easier. You’ll have to get through Minneapolis to get to St. Cloud, well, that’s the safest route around, and it’s still not very safe.”
  395. [17:30] <~Kumaton> “Or, hell, that’s what I’ve been told. I’m not sure myself, but I don’t want to chance it.”
  396. [17:31] * Bison has been listening to the conversation and speaks up. "If I could make medical supplies for you, would you buy them? There are many plants and herbs that are medicinal. I could perhaps teach you."
  397. [17:31] <Lucy> "I'll see if I can ask around and figure out how to get to this university."
  398. [17:33] <~Kumaton> Ben: “Uh, anyway...that radiation stuff...that’s a lot of money, but...oh, I hate to give it away free, since that’s...don’t tell anyone. Just take it.”
  399. [17:33] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Well we can't have that, now can we? Tell you what: I'm pretty sure among other places I'm headed to the mayo clinic. There's bound to be truckloads of the stuff in there. And in the meantime I'll donate whatever I have and don't need. I'm just doing some surveying, so it's not like I'll be going into raider hideaways or something."
  400. [17:34] <~Kumaton> Bison: Em turns to you, her face a bit suprised that you’ve been apparently been standing there the whole time. “Oh, uh, uh...there’s a few plants around here, but...I don’t know what can be made of it. If you can show me anything, I’ll...uh, just show me sometime.”
  401. [17:34] * Bison nods.
  402. [17:34] <~Kumaton> Ben: Em shakes her head quickly. “Don’t go to Rochester. You should know, right? About the...people there?”
  403. [17:35] <~Kumaton> Em bites the inside of her lip. “I don’t wanna talk about it, anyway. Just don’t go to Rochester.”
  404. [17:35] <ASH_LE> [sighing beeping]
  405. [17:36] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Yeah. I know. But what are the odds that's on the list? Zero, that's what."
  406. [17:37] <ASH_LE> [pause, then two short beeps]
  407. [17:37] <Lucy> "Mr. Williams, is there anything else you can tell me that may help?"
  408. [17:39] <Benjamin_Braddock> "Anyway, I'll just carefully stash these away and get going. And thanks...for being a loyal listener."
  409. [17:39] <~Kumaton> “Well, hm...I’ve heard that St. Cloud was directly hit by the bombs, though I don’t know why of if it’s true. If that’s true, it’s either feral Ghouls or sane ones. Or just people who were really, really damn lucky.”
  410. [17:40] <~Kumaton> Ben: Em nods. “Come back sometime and tell me about your travels. I’d like to hear when the country’s coming back for the better.”
  411. [17:40] <Benjamin_Braddock> (Miscellaneous quest added. Obtained RadAway, x2 Rad-X)
  412. [17:41] <~Kumaton> [I’m gonna work on a Google Doc that has Quests and stuff once the game’s done, btw]
  413. [17:41] <Lucy> "Okay, thanks doc. I'll see what I can do"
  414. [17:42] <~Kumaton> “You be careful out there, girl.”
  415. [17:42] <Lucy> "And you keep on truckin', Mr. Williams"
  416. [17:42] <Doc_Bronson> (Hehehehehee. Quest trackin')
  417. [17:42] * Lucy walks out of the diner, looking for Braddock
