Uboachan's download of Yume Nikki is the english patch, you shouldn't need to use applocale or read this faq if you have rm2k3 installed. .flow and 2kki not-withstanding.



I'm getting crashes and errors! (RPG_RT.lmt cannot be opened/etc)
	Install Applocale or japanese system fonts. Changing your system locale if you have jp system fonts can also do the trick. If you're using applocale for 2kki or .flow, right click on RPG_RT.exe and select "Locale Japanese".


Applocale won't install!
	Set program compatability to a previous version of windows, there's an issue with it on windows 7/8.


Windows 8 support?
	Yume Nikki doesn't run on windows 8. Install gentoo instead.


I got an error that said (some filename here) was missing?
	It means you're missing that asset (music/sprite) and the game can't continue without it. Sometimes the files are from the RTP that aren't actually used anywhere in-game, try installing Rm2k3, the jp rtp, or YN itself to see if that fixes it.


I can't read any text in-game, it's all blocky!
	That's a common bug in RPG Maker, and not specific to your operating system or YN itself. Install this patch http://crankeye.com/downloads/rm2k_fp.exe


Yume Nikki and other fangames keep flickering in fullscreen
	Play in windowed mode or install the fullscreen patch: http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/8668/


How do I switch to window mode?
	F4 is the default shortcut in RPG Maker but you can also press alt+enter. If you're playing the game from the editor, there's a button that toggles it by the play test button.


My inputs are getting stuck? I keep moving in the same direction!
	Disable bluetooth or refresh your usb devices.


Problems on Linux/Wine?

I can't get Uboa to appear!
	It's a random event, not a bug. Keep flicking the lightswitch.


directdraw error (DDERR_UNSUPPORTED)
	Your driver is out of date and has problems interacting with DirectDraw. Alternatively stop using windows 98.
