  1. /* Author's Note: will be alphabetized later */
  2.
  3. Janitor's Closet: A seemingly regular Janitor's Closet? "Apparently, a rabbit hole to death and adventure"
  4.
  5. Wakatsuki No Toyohime: A Transfer student from a foreign country, quickly became the Apple of everyone's eye.
  6. The Perfect Student. Rumors say she's a Transfer Student from a foreign country.
  7.
  8. Master: A participant in the Holy Grail War that forms a contract with a Servant. While all Magi participants in the War are Masters it seems not all Masters are Magi...
  9.
  10. Command Seals: Proof of the Bond between Master and Servant. 3 Absolute Commands that can be given to your Servant that they must fulfill. If forcefully removed, the Master will die.
  11.
  12. Servant: A Legendary Soul summoned from the Archive's of T.H.P.'s Database. If the Master is the gladiator in the tournament that is the Holy Grail War the Servants are their Swords and Shields. Unlike most greater grails, the selections of Legendary Soul is quite limited. T.H.P can only sustain 128 Servants at once.
  13.
  14. Holy Grail War: A Competition in which the Victor is given custody of the Holy Grail. This rendition of the Grail War styles itself as a Single Elimination Round Knockout style Tournament.
  15.
  16. Holy Grail: An Artifact capable of Granting Wishes. Grants one wish to both Servant and Master, single use.
  17.
  18. Magi: Spirit Hackers capable of digitizing their soul and inserting themselves into Servers and Databases. May form a contract with a Servant to become a Master.
  19.
  20. T.H.P.: An Artificial Environment constructed within the Moon Cell's Spiritual Computer System.
  21. Although it has been recording Events since the beginning of time, It it most unusual in that it picked a small range of recorded data for use in it's own grail wars...
  22.
  23. True Name: The key identifier of a Servant, A Servant's True Name is the password to gain full access to Matrix Entries. While not only is it a death sentence to have all your Combat Data readily available to your opponent, Most Servants do not appreciate their greatest secrets open to public, so some will even hesitate to reveal their identities to their own masters.
  24.
  25. Library: Database and Records of All Servants and Things pertaining to the Grail War are collected here, although you may not know which is tied to which. The Database Sources that make-up this Archive are an Open Secret that one only needs to ask the Librarian.
  26.
  27. Infirmary: The Domain of the Master Custodial AI Yuyuko Saigyouji, A variety of things may be found here, from clothes to first aid kits and a variety of other medical devices and supplies. You assume that Yuyuko sleeps here as well. Apparently there are also books and kits that you cannot find in the Library stored here? Perhaps it is only but a rumor.
  28.
  29. Inventory: As far as you're concerned, your pockets and the space behind you. Actually a small pocket dimension that allows things far larger than what should be able to fit to be hidden on one's person. The favorite of concealed weapon carriers. With this basic magecraft, even concealing a lance of considerable length [or an Anti-Material Rifle] is child's play. It seems the main protagonist is blissfully aware of this fact and performs this miracle without even thinking...
  30.
  31. Cafeteria: A Cafeteria located in the basement floor. Fully stocked with all kinds of foods and spices with a full kitchen. Strangely enough it's max occupancy is somewhere around 30 people, less than a quarter than the amount of participants in the war... It is said that the packed lunches made by Yuyuko here are culinary masterpieces, capable of leaving even the most hard-edge critic in tears.
  32.
  33. Private Key: A small doorkey. In the past, the T.H.P. used a password system to give masters access to their private rooms but in this particular incarnation of the war physical keys are used. While Rinnosuke said they are bound to one's soul that is not entirely accurate. Masters are actually assigned an internal key as soon as they pass the preliminaries. This physical key is merely the catalyst to unlock a particular door and allow one access to one's private room.
  34.
  35. Private Room: A encrypted reality marble in which a Master and Servant is assigned at the beginning of the grail war, Depending on the contents of one soul it can vary to destitute to extremely lavish. There is in no way any correlation with floor number and quality of a given room and any statements to the contrary are wrong. It is practically impossible for a Master and Servant to enter another one's Private Room so it's a great place to be able to talk freely and make plans with your Servant. To turn it around, this also means that there really isn't a 100% safe place to talk privately between masters.... or is there?
  36.
  37. Arena: An artificial dungeon constructed by the T.H.P. as a means of challenging the Masters of the Grail War and promoting growth of weaker masters. In an 128-man bracket there will be 7 Rounds. As such, there will be 7 Arenas.
  38. The ceremonial battleground in which Servant and Master do battle with their assigned opponent is actually located within the Arena, but cannot be accessed through the usual entrance for the arena.
  39.
  40. Access Keys: Keys hidden within the Arena. These are the keys that open the doorway to the ceremonial battleground on the 7th day. They are found in the lower and upper halves of each Arena. One will be open during the first 3 days of the week, the other on the last 3. Respectively. Failure to procure these keys by the morning of the 7th day means you will be unable to open the door to your Elimination Battle. Resulting in an immediate loss.
  41.
  42. Skills: It is theorized that the usual battle maneuvers employed by a Servant can be divided into a triangle of 3 groups, in a sort of rock, paper, scissors sort of way. If that is the case, Skills would be the equivalent of contorting your hand to look like all 3 at the same time. They exist outside the spectrum and thus cannot be directly countered by a Servant except by another Skill. Guarding a skill that is meant for attacking will still damage the enemy. However, not all Skills are damaging in nature. There are as many as for defense and self-improvement as there is for enfeebling your foes and assaulting them directly.
  43.
  44. Noble Phantasm: The defining skill of a given Servant. Knowledge of such an ability would surely give away their identity to those in the know. And knowledge of their identity gives away all chance of surprise from such techniques.
  45. Meant to be coup de graces: They are only allowed to be call once per engagement, but there exists exceptions to this rule. If a Servant's skills are akin to a fusion of rock, paper, and scissor; The Servant's Noble Phantasm would be akin to pulling out a hidden pistol in response to your opponent's draw. Of course.. you're not guaranteed to hit them with your shot but...

  50.
  51. CRUD: The Cornerstone of Modern Day Magecraft, better known as Spirit Hacking. Refers to one's ability to manipulate the data of the Spiritual Computer they are accessing, which of course includes their own soul.
  52. -Creation: To Manifest objects within the spiritual space, In the Reality Marbles of Moon Cell, this would appear to be the same as the first magic (The Denial of Nothingness). One half to the more... offensive forms of spirit hacking.
  53. -Read: The retrieval, accessing and comprehension of information that resides within a given spiritual computer.
  54. As everything can be defined by the little bytes that make up the whole sum, arguably the most important fundamental.
  55. -Update: The ability to modify. Often used to increase one's parameters, although the system may correct such deficiencies after a given time. With proper care and skill said modifications could be permanent, but requires time and concentration not suited for the heat of battle.
  56. -Delete: The other half of the more offensive forms of spirit hacking, and easily the more obvious. To delete is to destroy, even being placed in the proverbial recycle bin of a system is a ticket to the underworld. Deleting parts of one's digital soul has been proven to result in dire consequences when returned to their natural body. (for example, if one's arm is lopped off in the spirit would they would find it very difficult to move it, if at all when returning to their body)
