- You groan as you wake for the second time.
- >You immediately squint.
- >There's a blinding light directly above you.
- >You sit up on your elbows and wince.
- >You look yourself over and instantly recall mostly everything that has happened in the last hour or so.
- >Both of your arms are entirely wrapped in gaze, accompanied by a dull pain.
- >Your leg is casted and held up by a pulley system of some sort.
- >You scan the room.
- >It looks like a hospital room, but it seems way too small.
- > Yep, the door frame looks like it would only come up to you chest.
- 'This is all too surreal...'
- >You spot a remote with a comically large button on it.
- >You assume it's a call button and cautiously press it.
- >A few moments later, a pony with a white coat causually walks in, followed closely by Twilight and what looks like a royal guard.
- > Your face falls and you start to feel nauseous.
- >The white mare takes a step towards you, but is cut off by the guard.
- >"Do not approach the creature, miss. We do not know what it is capable of."
- 'This can't be real...'
- >Your stomach churns.
- "I think...I'm going to hurl..."
- >The white mare (whom you finally recognize as nurse Redheart) snaps into action and pulls what looks like a metal tub from the sole closet in the room.
- >She pushes it next to your bed just as you start blowing chunks.
- >She reels back in disgust.
- >After empty your upset stomach of its contents, you lean back and close your eyes.
- >"Excuse me."
- >You recognize the voice, but you're hesitant to answer.
- >"My name is Twilight Sparkle, protege of Princess Celestia and bearer of the element of magic."
- >You struggle to keep the feeling of nausea from rising.
- >Silence hangs for a few moments, then she speaks again.
- >"I'm not sure if you remember, but you and another of your kind we're found injured in a strange ship. My assistant and I heard you call for help in Equestrian, so I know you can understand me."
- >You move your hand to your forehead and keep your eyes shut.
- >The guard audibly shifts.
- >"Are you peaceful?"
- >You inhale loudly.
- "...yes."
- >Something dawns on you.
- "Where's Daniel?"
- >"I'm sorry?"
- "My friend."
- >Nurse Redheart cuts in.
- >"He's in another room recovering. Do you feel better now?"
- "...sort of."
- >"Are you ok with me taking the tub?"
- >She sounds like she's talking to a temperamental child who'd lose his shit if anyone would dare touch what was his.
- "Take it."
- >You hear the sound of metal scraping across the floor.
- >"If you don't mind me asking, what ARE you?"
- >You resist the urge to say something sarcastic.
- "Human."
- >"Hu...man. H-U-E-M-A-N?'
- "No E."
- >"Ah."
- >You hear a faint scribbling, then an discernable amount of hooves coming toward you.
- >"Are you in pain, Human?'
- >Her voice is a lot closer now.
- "My elbows hurt a bit, but I'm not dying."
- >"Your...what?"
- >You point at your raised elbow.
- >"Oh! Spell that, please?"
- "E-L-B-O-W."
- >More scribbling.
- >The nurse enters the room again and arrives at the other side of the bed.
- >"I apologize for your bedding, we had to improvise. We don't have any beds in your size."
- >You briefly uncover your eyes and look at the bed.
- >Its three pony sized bed pushed together lengthwise.
- "Its ok."
- >"Is there something wrong with your eyes?"
- "...no?"
- >"Why won't you look at us?"
- "I fear for my sanity."
- >You hear them collectively step back.
- >"Would you mind explaining?"
- >You sigh.
- "The place I'm from...is nothing like this..."
- >You hear the guard snort.
- "I'm not even sure how I got here. Everything is happening so fast, I haven't had any time to absorb all of it."
- >You're vaguely aware of how much of a bitch you sound like.
- >You feel something soft and velvety yet firm touch your shoulder.
- >"It's ok. If you need someone to talk to, I have no problem helping you. I was afraid you were here to take over or something of the like, but it seems you are as confused as I was. Once you heal up enough, I'd like to take you and your friend to the Princess to clear things up and get you home."
- "...I'd...appreciate that..."
- >You open your eyes and look at here.
- >Her eyes are warm and--
- >Her wings.
- >Her wings are gone.
- >Where the fuck are her wings?
- >Wasn't she a princess?
- "Uh..."
- >"Yes?"
- >Should you say something?
- >You're not sure if her reality is the reality in the cartoon.
- >You're not even sure if your not dreaming.
- >You pinch yourself.
- >You're not in your shitty apartment
- >You're still here.
- "Uh, did you say we'd see the Princess when I healed? That'll take forever."
- >"Why would it?"
- "Well, the bone needs to set and heal...it'll take at least 6 months."
- >"Maybe in the dark ages, but modern magic has shortened the healing process to a few days. Do you not have magic where you're from?"
- "...no. No I don't."
- >She gives you a bewildered look.
- >"...but why?"
- "Look, I don't know. I'd love to explain more things to you, but I'd like to rest, please."
- >She frowns and nods, understanding.
- >She leaves, as you try to get some much needed rest.
