  2. [16:02:14] <Morrigan> "I hear you've been looking for me?"
  3. [16:03:02] <Reflection> "You heard correctly. I'm bored, haven't done any jobs in a few days. Got any intel on anyone?"
  4. [16:03:30] <Morrigan> "Of course."
  5. [16:03:59] <Morrigan> "Who are you thinking? Balefire? Simulacrum?"
  6. [16:04:48] <Morrigan> "Moment of Glory, perhaps?"
  7. [16:05:13] <Reflection> "Hm, Moment of Glory sounds like a pretty stuck up name. Give me info on them."
  8. [16:06:18] <Morrigan> "Shaker. She dilates time around an area, speeding or slowing things, the closer to the centre the more powerful the effect."
  9. [16:07:06] <Morrigan> "She's a bit to our north right now."
  10. [16:07:29] <Reflection> "Do you know relatively how long she's had her powers?"
  11. [16:08:22] <Morrigan> "About a month. Triggered in the middle of a collapsing building and then strolled out."
  12. [16:09:16] <Reflection> "Alright, I'm headed out then."
  13. [16:10:05] — Reflection begins to head North
  14. [16:10:28] <Morrigan> "Good luck, Ruby!"
  15. [16:10:42] — Morrigan takes a different direction
  16. [16:12:27] <Moment_of_Glory> A few blocks away, you find what looks like the statue of a teenaged girl.
  17. [16:12:59] — Reflection takes a small pocket mirror out of her backpack
  18. [16:13:12] — Moment_of_Glory is currently standing in the middle of the street, a scarf wrapped around her head to hide her face
  19. [16:13:45] — Reflection checks her surrondings
  20. [16:15:57] <Moment_of_Glory> A rather uninteresting street, really. Both sides are lined with houses that could feasibly belong to any suburban family, each one separated from the road by a small front yard.
  21. [16:16:34] <Reflection> "This shouldn't be too hard then..."
  22. [16:16:44] — Reflection points the mirror at Moment of Glory and fires a heat beam
  23. [16:16:58] — Moment_of_Glory steps out of the way in a blur of motion
  24. [16:17:13] — Moment_of_Glory immediately returns to immobility
  25. [16:18:40] <Reflection> "Ah fuck"
  26. [16:18:48] — Reflection fires another couple of heat beams at Moment of Glory
  27. [16:19:37] <Moment_of_Glory> The beams slow to a crawl in midair, and Moment_of_Glory casually steps out of the way
  28. [16:19:43] <Moment_of_Glory> "Not nice."
  29. [16:20:45] — Reflection takes a couple of steps back
  30. [16:20:52] <Reflection> "I'm generally not"
  31. [16:21:05] <Moment_of_Glory> "You getting paid for this?"
  32. [16:21:19] <Moment_of_Glory> "I don't think I've done enough to warrant a bounty yet."
  33. [16:21:32] <Reflection> "Heh, I get paid in one way or another, yeah."
  34. [16:22:14] <Moment_of_Glory> "Hmm... hero? I don't think I recognize you."
  35. [16:23:06] <Reflection> "I'm not a hero, and I don't exactly enjoy the spotlight"
  36. [16:23:16] — Reflection tries to discreetly slide the mirror to the side
  37. [16:24:17] <Moment_of_Glory> "Then what have I done?"
  38. [16:24:29] <Moment_of_Glory> "Got the villains turned on me already..."
  39. [16:25:14] — Reflection starts to feel a little guilty on the inside, but her abrasive side pushes that feeling away
  40. [16:25:41] <Reflection> "It's nothing personal kid, I just go after whatever can get me supplies and money."
  41. [16:26:32] <Moment_of_Glory> "Money? C'mon, money's easy!"
  42. [16:26:59] <Moment_of_Glory> "Easier than fighting a supervillain, I bet."
  43. [16:27:34] <Reflection> "Yeah, but I rather like a challenge. Make getting the prize all the better."
  44. [16:27:47] — Reflection shoots a heat beam from the pocket mirror off to the side
  45. [16:28:24] — Moment_of_Glory flickers in the opposite direction
  46. [16:29:38] <Moment_of_Glory> "I'm too fast, stop trying to laser me."
  47. [16:30:00] <Reflection> "Ugh, your power's a pain in the ass."
  48. [16:30:12] <Moment_of_Glory> "Aww, thanks!"
  49. [16:30:15] — Reflection looks around for any bigger size mirrors or windows
  50. [16:31:01] <Moment_of_Glory> Most of the houses do in fact have large front windows, though few proper mirrors are directly visible.
  51. [16:31:46] <Reflection> *mutters under her breath* "Guess a window will have to do then."
  52. [16:31:57] — Reflection runs towards a window and attempts to jump inside of it
  53. [16:32:29] <Moment_of_Glory> "Running already? I haven't even gotten a chance to hit back!"
  54. [16:32:40] <Moment_of_Glory> You successfully jump into a window
  55. [16:33:34] <Reflection> Ugh, you hate windows. They're always dirty on the inside.
  56. [16:33:47] — Reflection sends out a reflection of herself through the window she entered
  57. [16:34:33] <Moment_of_Glory> "Uh... huh. So... what, hide in the window for like a second?"
  58. [16:34:40] <Moment_of_Glory> "That'll help."
  59. [16:35:23] <Reflection> The reflection nods and makes it look like it's reaching inside of its backpack.
  60. [16:35:42] — Reflection attempts to stealthily come out a window behind Moment of Glory
  61. [16:36:01] <Moment_of_Glory> You experience the odd sensation of your reflection slowing down drastically
  62. [16:36:48] <Moment_of_Glory> You yourself are entirely unaffected
  63. [16:37:24] — Reflection takes out another pocket mirror and attempts to fire it at Moment of Glory from behind
  64. [16:39:23] — Moment_of_Glory is struck square in the back. She falls to the ground and then, after a quick blur, is standing again, looking angrily at you
  65. [16:39:37] <Moment_of_Glory> "Not. Cool."
  66. [16:40:00] <Reflection> "Hey hey, gotta keep on top of your game if you want to survive out here".
  67. [16:40:44] <Moment_of_Glory> "I'm trying to! Come on, that's not fair! I didn't even do anything tonight!"
  68. [16:41:14] <Moment_of_Glory> "Hanging out, and then suddenly fire lasers!"
  69. [16:41:23] <Moment_of_Glory> "Who DOES that?"
  70. [16:41:35] <Reflection> "I do."
  71. [16:41:52] — Reflection smiles and fires a heat beam from the pocket mirror on the ground
  72. [16:43:02] <Moment_of_Glory> The mirror on the ground seems to be in the same field your reflection is, and the beam inches forward noticeably slowly, though it seems to be accelerating.
  73. [16:43:32] <Moment_of_Glory> "Well, screw you! That's not even-"
  74. [16:43:53] <Moment_of_Glory> The beam reaches the edge of the field and immediately jumps forward to hit her in the back again
  75. [16:44:19] — Moment_of_Glory drops with a shout of pain
  76. [16:44:36] <Moment_of_Glory> "Stop... DOING that!"
  77. [16:45:35] <Reflection> "Stop getting hit!"
  78. [16:45:50] — Reflection enters the mirror closest to her again
  79. [16:46:48] — Moment_of_Glory spins around, anticipating another attack from behind
  80. [16:47:23] — Reflection comes back out from the same mirror she just went in, and fires another heat beam
  81. [16:47:50] — Moment_of_Glory, in a burst of motion, glances over her shoulder and sidesteps
  82. [16:48:12] <Moment_of_Glory> "Not falling for that. I'm not stupid."
  83. [16:49:56] <Reflection> "I've gotta admit, you're pretty resilient."
  84. [16:50:38] <Moment_of_Glory> "What, running out of cheap tricks?"
  85. [16:51:29] <Reflection> "Heh, maybe."
  86. [16:51:51] — Reflection grabs 2 mirrors and slides them towards Moment of Glory's feet
  87. [16:52:45] — Moment_of_Glory speeds away to another part of the street
  88. [16:52:55] <Moment_of_Glory> "Nope."
  89. [16:53:30] — Reflection quickly runs to grab all three pocket mirrors on the ground
  90. [16:54:28] — Moment_of_Glory beats you to the first one you used, and stomps on it to shatter the glass.
  91. [16:54:52] <Moment_of_Glory> Your reflection is now functioning at full speed
  92. [16:55:14] <Reflection> The reflection runs at full speed towards Moment of Glory
  93. [16:55:35] — Moment_of_Glory and the reflection both freeze in place
  94. [16:56:25] — Reflection shoots a heat beam from a pocket mirror at Moment of Glory
  95. [16:56:44] <Moment_of_Glory> As it approaches her, the beam slows to a crawl
  96. [16:57:40] — Reflection fires two adjacent beams from two other pocket mirrors
  97. [16:58:23] <Moment_of_Glory> The same effect happens, and you end up with three nearly-immobile lasers pointing at her
  98. [16:59:20] — Reflection enters a window and comes out behind Moment of Glory, and fires one more heat beam
  99. [16:59:57] <Moment_of_Glory> As before, the beam slows until it's nearly hanging in the air
  100. [17:00:48] <Reflection> You really dislike this girl's power.
  101. [17:01:11] — Reflection attempts to dissipate her reflection
  102. [17:01:29] <Moment_of_Glory> Your reflection slowly begins to dissipate
  103. [17:03:03] <Reflection> "Well this fight is becoming more trouble than its worth. You can keep the pocket mirrors!"
  104. [17:03:50] — Reflection enters a window and sends out another reflection, all the while coming out another mirror not in Moment of Glory's field of vision
  105. [17:03:56] — Moment_of_Glory , still immobile, fails to respond
  106. [17:04:06] — Reflection attempts to run away
  107. [17:04:12] <Moment_of_Glory> You do so
